Pilates By The Ocean is a small boutique Pilates studio located in the Sola Salons Suites in Oceanside NY. Jennifer Walsh is a certified Classically trained Pilates Instructor since 2005. This studio specializes in one-on-one private sessions and duet sessions only, offering group mat classes off site. Jen is an exceptional Pilates instructor. I would go as far as to say she has a god given talent for it. She keeps sessions exciting, clearly communicates exercises and expectations. She makes it challenging, as well as fun- and you will leave exactly as you wanted to- knowing you just had a full body amazing work out. She is 10/10 every time. Book a session, or grab a class, you’ll be so happy you did!

Jen is the absolute best. She was so accommodating and really helped me postpartum with my third baby. She helped Me start to build my abdominal muscles back and feel confident that my body is capable doing that. I definitely recommend booking a session with Jen to see if you are Either new with Pilates or want to continue your journey. I went to her as my first time Pilates class as well as postpartum, and she has opened my eyes to Pilates And a different type of strong!

I’ve taken several of Jennifer’s mat classes as well as private lessons.
She’s an amazing instructor, I leave her class feeling like I’ve achieved something!
I have serious back pain and she’s aware of that, so she customizes moves so I can still do the workout,
If you want to workout without going to a gym and yet feel like you’re being challenged and your body will be transformed.
I highly recommend Jennifer’s classes for sure!

Excellent experience with Jennifer! I’m a 66 yo male who is trying to prolong his golf career. 😁 I’ve had shoulder and lumbar issues for years. An orthopedic surgeon friend, who is also a golfer, recommended Pilates. Jennifer’s background is in Classic Pilates and I see why my friend thought it would be beneficial. Her Pilates expertise is immediately apparent and she is a fantastic motivator. We’ve been doing a lot of core and rotational movements on and off the reformer that definitely seem to be helping.

Jen is INCREDIBLE! Obsessed with her. I've taken reformer & mat classes with her & both are challenging in a good way. She's strong, very knowledgable & has decades of experience! Gives great cues for muscle mind connection & always offers modifications! Focuses on core muscles (abdominals, back & pelvic floor) for controlled precise movements. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY is her motto. Breathing & proper form are key! Controlled breathing, smooth, slow, resistance, feeling the coils of the machine, returning the carriage gently, deliberate motions, emphasizing the working muscles, maintaining a neutral spine & engaging the core throughout EVERY exercise. Don't sacrifice form for range of motion. Move through the full range of motion available to YOU in each exercise, but ONLY if you can maintain PROPER FORM. Take her class ASAP!

I had such a great experience at Pilates by the Ocean. As a complete beginner, I was a little nervous, but Jenn made me feel totally at ease from the start. She’s not only super knowledgeable and professional, but also patient and encouraging—which made a big difference for me.
Jenn is really great at what she does. She explained everything clearly and made sure I was doing each movement correctly without ever making me feel overwhelmed. I could already feel a difference in my posture and body awareness after just a few sessions.
If you’re thinking about trying Pilates—especially if you’re new to it—I highly recommend!
