Been a member for 5 years now. Joined the Warrior program and can say it is worth the money if you put in the work! It has completely changed my views on training and helped me get stronger and healthier, not just smaller. The trainers (Kris/Leslie/Ally) are phenomenal and make the classes even better. Frank, one of the owners, seems to be always be there and is friendly and helpful. Golf course is very nice and enjoyable, for beginners and experienced players. Just wish the weekend hours were expanded a bit - sincerely a rotating shift worker!

Okay, pricy if you arenβt into golfing and just want a gym experience. This place NEEDS better weekend hours, closing at 5 on Saturdays and 3 on Sundayβs is horrible. If anything Saturday should be open longer at the very least.

If you want unregulated slow play, holes in the fairways, and trashed tee boxes, this is the place for you! It will run you $38 for 18 on the weekend, in a giloppy that may or may not burn oil.

I have been a member of PG for over 12 years now. When I first began my fitness routine I originally started due to the wide variety of classes and childcare available. As I have changed my fitness goals and routine over the years, I no longer need these services. I frequent the gym at least 6 days a week. As a female in a gym it can be intimidating to workout in any area primarily occupied by males, regardless of age. Over the recent years the equipment has been upgraded which is helpful. I am an educator and have my own children, who have also enjoyed playing basketball and using the equipment as well.
Over the last few years the lack of respect and gym etiquette from children under the age of 18 has been very frustrating to any adult trying to workout and get home to do βadultβ things. The machines are not being cleaned, weights are being left on, equipment is being broken. As the daycare is no longer open it is seemingly becoming one for the high school crowd. Itβs very frustrating as an adult trying to work on their fitness goals has to wait or watch as teenagers are using foul language, running through the weight area and having no sense of anyone surrounding them. It is recommended that either the children coming to the gym are supervised or a staff member is on the floor to prevent disruption. It might also be a suggestion that the rules have an age or time limit.

I unequivocally believe Pine Grove is the best gym in the town of Camillus, and highly recommend! Management was kind enough to offer me a 21-day trial, but to be honest, after one workout at Pine Grove you'll want to sign up for a long-term membership.
The front desk staff are extremely friendly and you're always greeted with positive energy. The gym itself is a great combination of old school and new school, with plenty of state-of-the-art equipment. It's a great gym for all skills levels, from the novice learning the ropes to the professional bodybuilder!
For those who like the social media clout, the lighting in Pine Grove is unrivaled. Your phone will be littered with fantastic gym pix, your dating profile will sure thank you.
It's also great to have the option of a tasty protein shake post-workout or a cold one down at Bittermen's (also highly recommend).
Simply put, Pine Grove is the complete package for all your fitness needs.
Special thanks to Bri, Ally and Dawn who especially made my experience 10 out of 10, you guys are awesome!

Review for Golf: PROS- course was empty on a 60 degree Saturday late morning (maybe a reason for this? CONS: course was disgusting. Literally garbage on multiple holesβ¦ not just an empty golf ball box but large piles of beer cans and trash - a member who is in a league said garbage was there since Thursdayβ¦ several days. Also price is very high for the course shape ($36 for 18) carts were VERY old. My buddyβs went about 3 miles per hour and mine made a loud screeching sound. I can keep going on the cons. Choose somewhere else to spend your moneyβ¦. Also greens and tee boxes are trash and donβt get me started on the fairways

The gym does not follow the New York State bill (#S1475A) put into effect February 2021 that states "require such businesses to provide certain contact information to be used as a cost-effective, timely, and easy-to-use mechanism for cancellation" They have informed us over the phone that we are not allowed to cancel our gym membership over the phone and would have to go in person to cancel. There was no other cost-effective option given thus going against the legislation. Terrible business that should be reported.

The repeating canned response from the owner is quite amusing regarding the grappling tournament. With his logic, you could have been running a meth lab out of the back sports complex and he would say that he no prior knowledge of it. To book an event of this size that was underway and then shut it down in the middle is reprehensible.
I've read the other reviews, people did train months in advance for this tournament, drove hours to get there had hotel arrangements and were shut down and sent away. Myself and my son were two of our nine team members in attendance that had to leave due to the poor response from ownership.

Owner shut down Grappling Industries' event. Called cops and fire dept. Threatened to tow cars and eventually he shut the entire thing down. If occupancy in the building was an issue it should have been addressed well ahead of time. You have 700+ competitors, don't try to kick almost all of them out mid event because you cant coordinate ahead of time. Trained for 8 months and made a 2 hour drive for this event and didn't even get to compete.

I haven't been to this gym since Feb 2020 but I kept paying my monthly dues because I thought I should support my local gym. They stopped payments for 4 months during COVID but I still payed for 8 months while not using their gym. After a while, I tried several times to cancel through phone (got hung up on) and email (no responses) since I was not using their gym. Then I got a new credit card and they never reached out to me about anything being wrong. I recently got a letter from a debt collector trying to charge me for past due fees from Pine Grove... They could have reached out to me as a customer instead of immediately sending a debt collector after me. Just a poorly run, trashy business. I'll make sure to tell everyone to avoid this place.

The gym manager/owner (Will) was extremely rude to patrons and even yelled at a little girl for attempting to enter the gym area. The girlβs father was obviously upset at his young daughter getting yelled at so he confronted the manager but he just kicked them out for life.
Aside from yelling at the girl he clearly treated his employees poorly as they told me he does stuff like this every single day that heβs there. Lastly, the gym was about 20 degrees hotter than I would have liked making working out quite difficult as I felt as if I would pass out from heat exhaustion. Never come here.

Equipment is dated, air conditioning rarely works or is turned on, so get ready for temperatures in the mid to high 70s possibly higher at times. Have heard several people complain that the females sauna has had black mold in it for well over a year, roof leaks, menβs sink was just recently shut down with no hand sanitizer provided... watched several people use the restroom and return to the equipment with no way to wash. Personal trainers are known to stare at other gym goers, and have heard people complain about this on multiple occasions. If personal trainers are using the basketball/turf area they will ask you to leave adjacent CrossFit area, even though they donβt use it. Reason being βit sets a bad exampleβ Only going here til my membership is up. Canβt keep track of how many friends and people Iβve met here that no longer attend this facility.
The day after posting this review, I was approached by Will, the owner, in the middle of my workout, and told to leave. Will then proceeded to wave a $20 bill in front of my face (Iβm assuming to refund me for the final payment theyβd be taking out of my account next month). Will stated he didnβt agree with the above review, although nothing stated above is opinionated, and is indeed true and factual. Goes to show how much Will cares about his facility, and the members. He was overly confrontational in the presence of other members as he spoke to me, to include profanities. Class act.

Iβm not sure if those of you who have rated this gym 4 or 5 stars have been to other gyms, but I suggest you give it a try. As others have said, the roof leaks, the lockers smell, water fountains never work and the biggest problem of all is the horrible equipment. Living in Camillus I too got caught in the easy stop to Pine Grove on the way home, never again. I drive 20 minutes now to Train Hard in Liverpool and itβs a world of difference knowing the owner actually cares about his gym. You can drive a Maserati and a Raptor all you want, but just throw a couple dollars back into the gym. After 10 years at Pine and hoping one day I get a working water fountain, only to be disappointed, Iβll never return.

Poor business practices. My payment information changed and they were unable to collect membership fees for just one month. Instead of notifying me by phone call, email or by mentioning it at time of check-in they immediately sent $69 to a collection agency. I was completely unaware that they had done this and I continued to visit their gym daily. Each day I scanned my membership at the front desk and still received no mention of a past due amount. This has effected my credit and reputation. I paid Pinegrove the past due amount but still had to pay the debt collector. I have double paid and will have this on my credit for 7 years.

Good community feel here. I've done the warrior program and take advantage of the family membership where they offer daycare while you work out. They offer lots of parking and a shake bar. They also have a nice golf course and a restaurant to eat at. Volleyball in the summer as well. All in all you can't get a larger indoor gym with great programs in Camillus. Did I mention indoor soccer fields for rent and a basketball court too? You are simply wasting your time going any where else.

This βgymβ is worse than Planet Fitness. The barbells are all at least 20 years old and have zero knurling (grip) and some are even broken and completely unsafe to use. When brought to the attention of management they refuse to discard and purchase new equipment. Today I was told that chalk is not allowed on the gym floor and I was accused of stealing rubber bands ( fitness bands) by the owner . When I showed him my bands were a different type and brand he offered zero apology and acted like a complete pompous douche. Frank the owner is completely unprofessional and wouldnβt have anything in life if it wasnβt for his hardworking and wealthy father. No wonder this place is always looking for help. Its a great place to work out locally, lots of options from cardio, an indoor track, machines and free weights. Lots of different classes if thats what your into and nice amenities like showers and saunas. Only two downsides over the years is that some clssses tske up a lot of space and make a TON of noise from their music to the instructors directions and they take presciedence over you for using certain zones like the heavy bag area or the basketball court. The other being the court becomes a hangout zone for school kids which isnt too bad since they are using it and playing as thats what its there for but they can be vulgar and vocal with it sometimes ruining the atmosphere

One of the best gyms in the area. Huge place, with lots of equipment, including a small indoor track. Plenty of fitness classes to fit your schedule. The trainers are a lot of fun too.
That being said, the men's shower room situation is a nightmare. I had more privacy in basic training. That is not an exaggeration. The layout of the men's locker room in general should be remapped. I implore the owners to study other gyms in the area. Frankly, they have you beat in this department.

Iβve been going to pine for almost 10 years, I canβt say enough about the size of the facility and the amount of equipment. Thatβs why Iβve stayed for so long and itβs really convenient for my commute. But the fitness side takes a backseat to their classes and warrior fitness program who are actively updated often and take precedent over anyone who is not participating and can limit the you to only certain areas. The roof has been leaking for as long as I can remember, half the lights donβt work, they close down half of the weightlifting area during the day to vacuum the ceiling, the bathroom sinks are often out of order as well. The weightlifting equipment hasnβt been updated in years minus one rogue bar Iβm sure someone stole from
The CrossFit side. Just wish the owners would stop buying fancy cars and put some money back into the facility

I've only been a member at Pine Grove for a few months, but I think they have the most comprehensive fitness center in the area. They have the typical cardio machines, plus the ever elusive stair climbers (use them if you're really looking for a lower body workout that will make you sweat!) Unlike some gyms, they have a great free weight area too. Lately, I've been enjoying the more crossfit oriented section of the gym with rings, ropes , and box drills. The only classes I've participated in were the Yoga classes , and that was great.

It's a gym, with a basketball court. Nuff said. Quiet at the times I go, rarely fighting people for equipment. The regulars are cool, which is nice.
Edit: After getting to know the place for a few months, management seems to be of questionable competence, lots of old equipment could use replacing, and the facility is generally lacking in maintenance and repair. Also, they decided to put a turf mat over the middle 40% of the court and use that space for classes during the most popular time of the day (430-730 when students are out of school and adults are getting out of work...)

I have been attending Pine Grove for nearly a year. This is by far the best gym I have worked out at. They have outstanding staff, the trainers are very knowledgeable and friendly, and there are a ton of classes and space to workout. I would recommend this gym to anyone.

Pine Grove is great and I love being a part of Warrior and Reset. All the trainers are amazing, the workouts are very diverse, and my fellow Warrior and Resetters are awesome people. I highly recommend both programs!

I moved to Camillus and decided to sign-up at Pine Grove with a couple friends. At first glance we thought it would be a nice place to join but quickly found out we were wrong. Where do I start? The facility bathrooms were rarely cleaned, dust on the machines, machines brake down and not even a sign is put up to warn people, buckets placed around the gym when it rains as the ceiling leaks, drinking fountains don't work during the winter as they freeze up, lockers never available during peak times because they allow overnight locking, etc. I once politely asked one of the owners a question regarding when he thought a broken piece of popular equipment would be repaired. He snapped at me because he was working out. He was just standing there resting between sets of push-ups. I thought an owner would provide more respect to his customers, regardless of what he was doing. When I mentioned how disrespectful the co-owner was to me to the ladies at the front desk, their response was "sounds familiar" and "that would be him". Wow. Great way to run a business. My friends and I joined ASPEN a couple months ago and love it. Brand new facility with owners that respect their customers and it's a cheaper monthly cost. We never looked back!!

I became a silver-level member in June (2014). I have been a fitness enthusiast for years and I'm very satisfied with the facilities. The staff and other members are friendly and the place is modern and clean. If you're into classes, they have a bunch to select from. I haven't done any classes myself so I can't give a first-hand account, but there are plenty of folks that go back for more.
