I frequently go to work out early in the morning at 5am as soon they open, but I would like if they could open earlier like 3am or 4am. Many people want to join us and then go to work or school but they can’t stay for long enough.

Good evening, I am a current black card member of planet fitness along with a few family and friends. The first week we started working out there we found it very pleasant, friendly staff, cleanly with everything in good condition, we all felt great finally getting the tools and space needed to help each of us on our unique Journeys. By the next week however we noticed inconsistencies with a few of the rules the staffs seemed so very strict with and from there ever since many problems arised. For example;
Using the massage area, both me and my daughter (the guest on my card) used theses equipments the entire time without any problem, till one day new staff came in and informed us ( including the rest ) all of a sudden that we cannot and should not be using them at the same time, that all card hodlers have to use them before their guests, which we thought was strange, however, we did comply and just did as we were told.
In the following weeks we noticed other things such as ( which were very frequent) out of order machines and a decrease in cleanliness. Also, some of the new staff members were a bit unfriendly and rude except from one particular young woman who worked there with a soft pleasent voice. We only spent 1-2 hours at most at the gym so we never really felt a need to report any of this but eventually it started to bother us. (None of these problems has been fixed)
Lastly, due to us being so new at using many of the equipments we found out that we were using them incorrectly which could end up injuring us, after learning this we went to the staff to seek help by asking for a trainer/ gym coach and how to apply or find one. They just said some nonsense knowing that we had not a clue what they were talking about and gave us a smile as if all were fixed. Folks we are still waiting for their helpful response on the first step to take inorder to get what we asked for. Anyways, due their arrogance we got fed up and went to a friend who had offered to help us prior this, he gas been working out for years and knows what he's doing when instructing others, so he's quiet popular at the gym for his little tips, with him we were finally locked in and putting in the work, even seeing results.We were on a roll. Shortly after maybe a day or two we started feeling uneasy as if we were being watched. SPOILER ALERT! We were. The staff had been watching us for days and saw the help he was giving us and a few others. Long story short, they recently canceled him which felt like a punch to the gut and now our routine is messed up and our progress is moving slow. Since his ban, few have decided to cancel their memberships and go elsewhere and we are now contemplating doing the same, all eight of us!

Never had issues until today i walked in by accident did not scan and i felt someone staring at me. I looked and said oh i forgot to scan. Scanned and went about my business. Then i went on the machine and recorded a video of myself. I would NEVER put anybody in my video ever. Then some little boy came up to me and said i cant record in here or play music. ( when i recorded my 10 sec video music was playing ) i said i never heard those before and went to the manager and asked where it says i cant record. He showed me a policy that said recording privileges can be taken away but no where did it say i cannot record which ive been doing forever. Im not one of those gym influencers check my @leomileoni i barely share at all. He said he can cancel my membership i said do it i been meaning to but i cant. Then he checked and saw its in florida. Then i told him to call the cops. I want yall to cancel my membership please!!!! I only go here because i cant cancel unless i go to fl!! So yeah. Vince u are a rude insecure little boy i dont know whats wrong with you but get better soon! Update—- my membership was cancelled thank God. But i paid the 18th and i need my refund which i will get. You did me favor Vince. Thank you very much!

I enjoyed my workout at this location. I used a free day pass which was very convenient to see if I would want to be a future member at Planet Fitness. The pros include having access to a spacious gym and having a great variety of machines for each body part.They have solid machines such as a hack squat and a standing calf raise machine which are top quality machines. HOWEVER, they do not have a traditional squat rack to squat freely and deadlift. They have 4 smith machines but this location unfortunately only has access to these. This was disappointing as well as not having traditional bench presses for those who like old school exercises. There are substitute machines instead. Also, the gym has a spray and paper towel setup to wipe down what you used and the bathrooms are clean for the most part. Small wrappers were thrown on the floor in the locker room from those who littered. All in all, the gym is beginner friendly, but for those who prefer free weight exercises such as the ones I mentioned, consider these comments.

Filled with a bunch of teenagers who sitnat machines on their phone for hours and dont use the machine.

Place isnt big enough for all these teenagers hogging the machines on the phone. They sit on their phone at the machine for 45
Minutes just to do one rep after. Forcing those of us who pay monthly to have to wait around or find other workouts when were the ones who pay.

They dont mind charging us late fees but then cant even use the machines we pay for cause theyre too busy giving free memberships to kids who dont take it seriously.

Planet Fitness has a lot going for it. The location is super convenient, close enough that I can walk home. The staff is professional, and I appreciate the variety of machines, especially the hack squat, glute bridge, and chest press. The massage chairs and hydro beds are a nice touch, and the app is really informative.

That said, there are some ongoing issues that bring the experience down. The water fountains don’t work(correct me if this is fixed), so if I forget my bottle, I have to use the bathroom sink. There’s no proper space for warming up or stretching, and the air gets musty upstairs, especially when it's crowded. A few machines are broken or missing, and there are no straight-back chairs or free barbells. The outside area isn’t always clean, and the vending machines sometimes overcharge, which needs to be addressed.

With some improvements in maintenance and cleanliness, this location could be much better. For now, it’s an average experience.

Inconsistent Rules & Uncomfortable Experience

I travel frequently and visit different Planet Fitness locations, so I understand that policies can vary. However, my experience at this location was incredibly frustrating due to inconsistent enforcement of rules and poor customer service.

My first visit was great—friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and no issues working out. I brought a guest, and while I was told only one Black Card member could use the spa at a time, they still allowed us both access. I found the rule strange but appreciated the accommodation.

The second visit, however, was a disaster. From the moment I walked in, the energy was completely different. I wasn’t greeted like before, which set the tone. I placed my jacket in the front locker and proceeded to the gym floor with my gym bag, which contained essential workout accessories—items I used with no issue during my first visit.

Mid-workout, a man in a sweatsuit approached me, only identifying himself as a manager after shaking my hand mid-set. He informed me that gym bags weren’t allowed on the floor. Though surprised (since I had my bag out the previous visit with no issue), I complied and placed it in the locker room downstairs, forcing me to adjust my entire workout.

I returned to the cables upstairs and continued using the gym’s attachments. Then, I was interrupted again. Another employee stopped me mid-set because I had taken off my hoodie and hung it on the cable machine’s hook. Meanwhile, I noticed other gym-goers doing the same thing without being approached. At this point, I felt targeted and frustrated. I pointed out the inconsistency, received a dismissive smile, and continued my workout while feeling watched the entire time.

When I went downstairs to finish my workout, I saw both employees following me. At this point, I felt so uncomfortable and profiled that I decided to leave. On my way out, I noticed broken machines, trash on the floor, and boxes scattered around. How does a brand-new gym already have malfunctioning equipment and cleanliness issues while the staff focuses on micromanaging members?

If this location wants to enforce strict policies, they need to be consistent and ensure the facility is actually well-maintained. The lack of professionalism, selective enforcement of rules, and uncomfortable atmosphere make this Planet Fitness a hard pass. I do not recommend this location unless you enjoy being harassed by staff and dealing with inconsistent policies.

A friend of mine has a membership to planet fitness. He’s a GA resident and is currently visiting NY. The manger of this establishment profiled me and my friend twice after we scanned in, didn’t let us use the facility. He stated that because there is no photo attached to his account he can not use the gym without showing identification. Due to past experiences, my friend does not travel to the gym with valuables. We tried to find an alternative with the manger but he refused to let us enter the establishment but did not treat anyone else in that manner. We offered to show him a picture of our ids and he refused. He stated that it was the policy of the establishment but could not provide the policy in writing. We’ve use the facility before and did not receive that treatment from anyone else or any other location. Besides that manger, it’s a great place to work out

I found out there was a new location and decided to check it out. Instantly I was greeted by two staff members that allowed me to tour the gym. This place is exceptionally clean and the staff were very kind and friendly. My home gym is in New Rochelle but since this is wayyyy closer to me I might make this my new gym home. Thanks for bringing PF closer to Mount Vernon. I can get here quickly simply by walking lol 🤗

I love how clean and modern the new Planet Fitness Bronx (Wakefield) location feels—it’s such a refreshing space to work out. The updated equipment makes it easy to stick to my routine, and the staff is super welcoming, which keeps the vibe positive. The location is easily accessible however, it’s hard to find parking if you drive.
