Wrote a review a month ago about people hogging equipment. It’s been better, but there’s still this woman who insists on hoarding equipment and video recording herself in the free weights section. It’s a violation of my privacy. She should do content somewhere else. I’ve seen her be told before to stop. This seems to be a regular thing as I’ve seen her. Please enforce and ask for it to not happen again. “Warnings” are clearly not working. I’d like to lift in peace without thinking I might end up in her next TikTok.

To clarify her camera is set up so that it faces out into the gym. I don’t want to be in her content or anyone else’s. Even for a little bit.

It gets so busy after 6 pm that is no even sanitary.
There’s a nasty man there training and has all his nasty belongings all over the place ! Does he know a locker room is available??
I know this is a free country and nobody should be discriminated against they way they look and Dress , BUT this gym needs to reinforce “ gym etiquete “ and HYGENE, Cleanliness , Wear CLEAN clothing and shower before coming to the gym are part of it and needs to be REINFORCED!! Asap! Avoid 6:00 pm to 8 pm , it’s overcrowded

Absolutely filthy location. I arrive when the gym opens and it’s normal for the machines to be dirty, covered with used paper. The paper dispensers are broken and almost always empty. And the AC doesn’t work and there’s black mold clearly present on the overhead units. Im sure people are getting sick and spreading it at this location. By far the worst I’ve been to.

Worst gym experience I’ve had. Aside for the Size and the lack of certain workout equipment you would expect this gym to compensate for something, but instead, this gym is always crowded. Because of the size of the building and the number of equipment, Everything is being used. I felt like I was in a damn ATM bus where I have to wait to get access to the service.

I started going to the gym, especially in the afternoon after 7 to 8 pm. It is a very bad experience, especially with the afternoon workers plus a young man named Christian. He mistreated everyone, not just me, what I observed, and he is rude to everyone. Bad experience. I will proceed to unsubscribe. Thank you.

I’ve been coming to this particular location since it opened. While I’ve never really had any issue with staff or equipment (although there are always quite few treadmills always out of order), their Air Conditioning system is the worst around. In the middle of this summers intense heatwave, that gym has become a living oven it seems anytime the temps go over 90 degrees. It is horrible to workout in such incredible heat with no ventilation whatsoever. If that’s the case, I may as well go the park for free to workout going forward and just cancel my membership if I’m going to be in such a sweltering environment. Come on Planet Fitness, spend a little money and get this AC issue fixed NOW, not when summer ends!! It’s truly getting ridiculous and a lot of folks are going elsewhere as a result. This is not good.

★☆☆☆☆ Planet Fitness is a Complete Scam – Zero Customer Support

I’ve had an extremely frustrating and dishonest experience with Planet Fitness. For the last 4 months, they’ve been charging me a monthly membership fee plus a late fee every single month. When I finally went to my local branch to settle everything and cancel my membership, I was told that my account had been “sent to collections” and there was no way to pay or resolve anything directly with them.

When I asked why they were still charging me fees if the account was with collections, I got no straight answer. Worse, the employee said he couldn’t even tell me which collection agency it was supposedly sent to. I asked to speak to the manager – only to be told she was on vacation for two weeks and couldn’t be contacted. I then asked if there was anyone managing the branch in her absence. They said no one. That’s how irresponsibly this branch is being run.

Out of frustration, I called another Planet Fitness branch, and the woman I spoke to told me there’s no such thing as “sent to collections” in their system. So either the first guy was lying or had no idea what he was talking about.

This whole experience shows how shady and disorganized Planet Fitness is. They keep charging without accountability, give misleading information, and have zero customer service. If you’re thinking of joining – be careful. You might end up paying for months with no way to stop it or even talk to someone responsible.

Completely Mismanaged and Toxic Environment.
I used to go to this gym, but I had to stop because it’s always overcrowded. The worst part? Many of the members are rude, entitled, and completely inconsiderate. They hog the machines for ridiculously long periods, some just sit on their phones while others wait making it impossible to get a proper workout. It’s gotten completely out of hand, and the environment has turned toxic.

There’s zero gym etiquette, and worse, no staff presence on the floor to manage the chaos. I strongly urge management to take this seriously and start having someone on the floor to monitor behavior and enforce equipment-sharing rules. You cannot charge premium prices and let the place run like a free-for-all. This isn’t just frustrating anymore, it’s a serious and growing problem.

This by far is the worst Planet Fitness I have been to since becoming a member. Unfortunately, this is the only gym in my area that is within walking distance from my house, so like many of the people in my community, I have no choice but to frequent this particular location. I have been going to this gym for almost a decade and the conditions are below standard of what Planet Fitness advertises. The machines are constantly out of order, the mini lockers near the desk are broken, and currently, the AC is not working. I am truly tired of complaining (and I'm sure the employees are tired of hearing my issues), but it is completely unacceptable for the AC to not be working in the dead heat of summer. When I addressed the issue to the staff, they tell me that they are waiting for someone to repair the AC. I've heard this excuse for nearly a week and still no resolution. I've called the Senior Director of Operations, Jessica Manfredi, and the phone goes straight to voicemail. The lack of concern and care is really beyond comprehension and the manager should be ashamed and quite frankly embarrassed that their gym is running so poorly.

This particular location has been getting worse during the last 6 months or so. For starters, the summer program for teens to work out free is AWFUL. Too many teens come together, hog the equipment, spend most of their time chatting and joking, and they actually vape inside the gym!

Then, the music is RIDICULOUSLY loud on the second level, especially in the morning. Even with my earbuds on blast, the music pierces through. No one wants to hear loud music in the morning.

Several of their recumbent bikes don’t work. And even after I told several employees about the issues. They still do nothing about it. So let me inform you:
The bike on the far left randomly loses resistance in the middle of your workout, messing up your flow and target goals. It’s so annoying to go from 17 to 0 and back to 17 in 10sec.

The bike on the far right won’t lock in place. Several times, while peddling, I’ve slid all the way back because my pushing caused the weak locking mechanism to give way. Very dangerous.

Lastly, several paper towel dispensers on the 2nd level don’t work well. You have to a ton of time pressing the level just to get a few inches of paper. Where are our maintenance fees going?

I hope they get their act together with these things.

I like the seated plate loaded calve raise, the Planet Fitness is less than half a block from my apartment (convenience), and the abdominal machines in basement in particular one of them. I do my powerlifting workout in Bronx House nine blocks away and my abs, transverse obliques in flexion, calves and Tibia anterialis work in Planet Fitness. Blink Fitnesses' that I trained in, all had crooked rubbery floors under their half-racks, so I squat in Bronx House. Mount Vernon Barbell and Xstreme Fitness of Westchester County are far away. So, I combine Bronx House with Planet Fitness. If they eliminated one or two of their four Smith- Machines, and put in five Olympic bars, and replaced the removed Smith- Machines with power cages for free-weight squatting or benching in the rack off the rods, then I would not need a second gym.

1st time here as a black car member, try to use the massage chair at 9:30am. Was assigned #7 but when I get all the way down stairs, there is someone there sitting in the chair on the phone arguing with someone on the phone. The chair wasn't being used just sitting there. I figured to complain so I called up stairs and was given another chair. But the person was still there in there phone when this is supposed to be a relaxing time I have to hear his nasty conversation.

I use the gym frequently and I am pleased about PF team courtesy, their helpfulness and how they know their customers. Also, they really try to clean the machines even though the Public using the machines Should clean the machines after they use them - a courtesy for the next person using that device. I gave 5 stars but there is the need for improvement, such as increasing the Longevity of the team members. Equipment repairs need to be heard and expedited by Senior Management. People who are lifting weights MUST stop dropping them because eventually there will be structural damage and we will not have a gym -- I guess we need to start using the LUNKHEAD alarm again. And staff needs to walk around telling people to use their headsets for their phones - I am not interested in being forced to hear other's personal conversations, Facetimes or their music. BUT, we do have 3 newly replaced televisions (yay), 2 muscle-relaxer chairs and muscle-relaxer beds. Advertise our Pelham Parkway site -- We Bronx-ites can be gracious.

Overall, this gym offers great value. I understand that some issues, like inconsiderate gym-goers hogging equipment, are outside the staff's control. However, there are a few areas for improvement.

One major issue is the lockers. Despite the recent renovation, the quality is poor. Many lockers are already in disrepair—some have broken hinges, and others are impossible to securely lock. In fact, I often waste a lot of time trying to find a working locker.

Additionally, I experienced frustration with the treadmills recently. I had to go through three before I found one that was functional.

I hope these concerns can be addressed to enhance the overall experience at the gym.

Well this gym is fair there are to many people all around the gym holding weights hostage and benches, as for me. A lot of Cardio machines, and is RIDICULOUSLY packed in the morning time [around 7am] You can’t trust Google Maps or the PF app - it’s a gamble how packed it’ll be when you arrive. I’ve had my membership for only a week, and today was the first time I was in the gym for under 45 mins - because all of the machines were taken [ironically except the Cardio machines]

LOTS of kids working out as well, so I’ll now have to experiment with times to see when’s the best time to get a good solid workout in at this location.

I use to love it wen it was 24 hours its extremely to crowded to be closing at 11pm in this area i use to come at 2am because it was crowded at 12am its insane i went at 6am it was so packed u cant even work out your literally waiting in line for a machine all day long thiers no more down time thier not worth keeping this membership definitely not 11pm way to early for this area at least 12am and open at 4am who wants to be in a crowded gym all day definitely need to cancel this membership its just way to small and crowded all damn day that's y 24 hours was important

I’m writing this review to hopefully save someone else from the ABSOLUTE MESS that this Planet Fitness is. I was a member of Planet Fitness for 12 years, always paid my monthly membership fees on-time and enjoyed the various locations I went to. Once I moved, this gym was located very close to my home. In the beginning, it SEEMED great, and then little by little, the truth began to show. The employees are constantly high, morning, afternoon, night, it doesn’t matter. The front desk area always wreaks of weed, and if that doesn’t give them away, the bloodshot eyes and general disinterest in their jobs will. Machines are constantly and consistently broken, even after the remodel that happened a few months ago. The locker room is a circus. I’ve seen teenagers sitting in the locker room having a full meal of Popeye’s, McDonalds, or Dunkin Donuts. Best part is, they will leave their trash and food scraps right on the locker room benches or hide it INSIDE the lockers. While you’re in the locker room, don’t forget to enjoy the constantly slippery floors, empty soap and towel dispensers, and the 14-year-olds hogging the mirrors taking shirtless selfies. While all that sounds amazing, the best part came over the summer when teens were allowed to work out FOR FREE all summer. Overnight, this gym became a playground. Teenagers (I use that term loosely considering there were children no older than 12 ‘working out’ also), would swarm around every single machine. The weight rack would be empty ALL THE TIME. On multiple occasions I had to wait over a half hour for a weight bench to free up. Not because anyone was actually lifting weights on the weight bench, but a group of teens would be chatting, taking selfies and also taking pics of girls walking by in tight leggings. I witnessed on three separate occasions women complaining at the front desk that teenagers were taking pics of them and harassing them (I think you can guess how the completely stoned staff handled this). I was told that I should voice my complaints to the gym manager (because Planet Fitness has absolutely no customer service number). Great idea, except the manager couldn’t care less. I was told to email or call a regional manager. 5 phone calls…3 voicemails…3 emails…ZERO RESPONSE. After a summer of HELL trying to workout at this place, I decided I couldn’t do it anymore. I went in one weekday to cancel my membership and was told I need to submit a formal cancellation letter. Great, I typed up a ‘formal’ letter of cancellation, emailed it to the gym, the regional manager, AND brought in two physical copies. Imagine my surprise three weeks later when my monthly dues were taken out as if nothing happened. When I went in to argue that I had cancelled my membership three weeks earlier, I was informed that my membership had been canceled…the day after my monthly dues were withdrawn from my checking account. So basically, I canceled (or so I thought) my membership the last week of August. Monthly dues were withdrawn on September 17th, and my membership was canceled on the 18th…DISGUSTING. I went through another round of “please call this person”…”email this manager”…”submit this form online” and jumping through 12 other hoops. I’ve joined LA Fitness on Eastchester Road and let me tell you, IT IS A TRUE GYM.

Clean, friendly environment. I am a black member and enjoy the extra perks. I've met great people who are both members and staff. The only feedback I have is suggesting mirrors downstairs for Calisthenic exercises along with a larger selection of free weights. Also, the floor downstairs needs replacing as it has wear and tear and water damage when it rains.

I have subscribed for 2 years and I have never been able to go to this gym and for 6 months I have been trying to cancel the subscription and they won't let me cancel apart from the fact that they want to charge me 80 dollars more, it is a rubbish gym and I don't recommend it at all. I had to cancel my bank card so that those abusive thieves would not continue charging me.
