This gym has to be one of the most unkept gyms in new york in my opinion. The machines are constantly out of order. Left over paper towels are every where. The people at the front desk are not pleasant.

Update 2023: the machines are still constantly broken. Go here out of convenience! Some staff are friendly.

Update 2025: the same machines that were broken before the pandemic are still broken.. seems the franchisers dont care to fix them. Still only go there out of convenience, not my favorite choice..

I’ve been a member of this gym before . But I didn’t go regularly. And it was another location years ago. The gym is dirty , has bugs, mice, and the workers don’t great you. And all they play is Spanish music!!No good vibes ! I don’t even feel welcomed there anymore! When Steven was there it was great! His attitude The music! So It’s time to leave that place and find another gym!

No hot water in the showers for a month! And I still keep getting charged the same. It’s not fair to us who have to go to work early in the morning to take cold showers, especially since it’s a little colder in the mornings. Unacceptable!

visiting Fordham area. Ashley the staff member was polite and very friendly with the Facility. Highly Impressed Satisfied Customer but it could off been better on the Sauna Machine ( only 13 minutes?! On the Sauna Machine? ) stay fit and stay healthy folks. I’ll be back soon.!!

I can't rate my experience because I didn't have any experiences there except for as follows ..It really is a great gym however I went there to register with renew active for my insurance company and it's supposed to be free the show is going to be paid for it and she was trying to sell me a $60 membership and then a dollar a month and she wasn't paying any attention to what I was talking about so I got annoyed and I left but I really wish I would have stayed and figured it out because now I had to join an inferior gym however a gym is a gym. And if you're trying to use your insurance company that pays for the gym don't waste the time going to Planet Fitness

I am a black card member of at least 5 years. I spoke with an employee regarding my wallet being left it was confirmed it was there and the contents of the wallet are there. Was told to come the next day the wallet would be in the top drawer and just let the person in the front desk I was picking up the wallet. The young lady there tried to reach out to the manager because it had been moved to the safe however he (Julio) wasn’t reachable and she wasn’t able to access the safe. Its no fault of her own however the lack of communication is unacceptable and not to mention somehow the manager is having surgery and doesn’t have a contingency plan to have their employees with the lost and found. I need someone to reach out to me asap because my wallet is now being held.

Today my partner and I had a horrible time because of JULIO, I’d like to speak to the owner or someone higher up. Having this kind of customer service is a disgrace, he was very rude and unhelpful. My partner and I have late fees, our cat died recently and with everything going on we didn’t realize there was an issue with our bank so we couldn’t be charged. When my partner tried explaining that, Julio was very hostile and not welcoming. I wouldn’t want to have an experience with him again, this made me want to cancel my partner and I’s membership. This isn’t how you retain members, this is how you lose them. If you want to stay in business I suggest you do something about him and the horrible experience we had and I’m sure others have had too. He first told us the fees were “locked in” then he proceeded to say they don’t accept our specific bank firm, then when my partner gave him a different one, he said the same thing. Which is a lie. They were charging our BANK just fine BEFORE the late fees . Not only do you have a manger with poor customer service skills but you have one that is also not honest to the customers you’re supposed to care about.

I've been a planet fitness member for 10+ years, across Texas, NYC, with no problems at all. It's only when I went to the Fordham location in The Bronx that I started getting charged an additional $30/month. They say it's because my payments are late, but I have kept the same bank information and direct payment for the past 10 years, and my monthly and timely payments do show up in my bank account, so it doesn't make sense that I'm being told the $30 reflects a late fee either. This has been going on for several months, and when I was at the local branch, nobody actually helped me resolve this. It's at least $180 in illegal late fees PF has charged me. Watch your bank accounts with this branch

So far, so good. I'm back at this location post pandemic. I have a lot of gym equipment at home now. I come here for what I don't have and motivation. It's clean here. The bathroom and the locker room have never been an issue with me. I'm an in and out guy. I may have showered there once. Again, things were pretty clean . There's plenty of equipment for whatever you need to work on. The 45's can get scattered around but nothing to be frustrated about. The staff is cool. The customer service is very good here. They know their stuff and are always available. There's not too much to knock here. Maybe a broken machine here and there. Otherwise, the equipment is well maintained. I'd totally recommend this location to a friend.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received at this gym. Despite paying for plan that includes a personal training session, I was left waiting for 30 minutes with no communication from the trainer. When I inquired about the delay, the staff seemed unapologetic and uninterested in resolving the issue.

To make matters worse, this was the third time I've experienced issues with scheduling and punctuality at this gym. The lack of respect for customers' time is staggering.

Unless they address these systemic issues, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are better options available for those who value their time and expect professional services

I honestly really liked the gym and only stayed because of the low price and the 24-hour availability. Unfortunately, since Covid, most locations are no longer open 24 hours, and the lower price seems to be more of a disadvantage than a benefit. The low cost to get in means there are lots of casual gym-goers, many people sitting around and texting, and lots of kids just coming in to socialize. Really friendly staff might be the only benefits.

If you been to one Planet Fitness you been to pretty much all of them. This one is no different. Just your standard Planet Fitness gym. 2 floors & equipment spread out nicely. Gym always seems clean & I do see workers always wiping & refilling stations. Front desk is friendly & helpful. Machines break down but they replaced it in a decent timeframe. However like most areas in the BX this gym gets PACKED!!!. Weight machines & free weights are NEVER empty. However treadmills & elliptical machines are always free. This of course is not Planet Fitness fault. I suggest going early morning & 1 hour prior to closing for minimum people.

This gym is open for a good amount of time. So if you are like me, shy and do not like all that extra noise and attention. This gym has hours when they are not so busy, so you can workout in peace. The weight area downstairs has always been packed both times I’ve gone so far. But upstairs, the elliptical area has been almost empty both times I’ve gone.(That’s where I am comfortable so far.)
