I’ve been trying to get in contact with manager for about 2 months now. I am completely confused as to why this woman is never ever in the building you called in the morning. She’s not there. I just called this afternoon at 4PM She’s on a break every single time. I’m told oh I’ll put you on this call back list that she absolutely never calls back. Can someone please look into these never ending breaks?! Or post when management is actually available?!

They permanently closed the other nearby planet fitness so now this one is so crowded it’s unusable. It’s impossible to find a machine. The other day I had 8 machines I could have used for arm day and they were all taken, so were the weights I needed. And the worst part is that there’s really no other decent gyms nearby. So I feel trapped here.

-Looking at the crowd meter doesn’t change anything when I already come at one of the least busy times. And half the time it says 3/10 and the place is filled past capacity….
A better response would be, “we are working towards fixing the problem, we’ll
try adding more weights and equipment, stop wasting space on 50 tred mills when nobody uses more than 10-15 at a time, double up on free weights, double up on important machines like the leg press, stop offering free memberships to high school kids since we can’t handle that capacity anymore, ask headquarters about opening a new location etc etc”

Update: The overcrowding and lack of adequate equipment has gotten so bad that there have been physical fights over them. The police were here last week to break one up. And I’m not surprised, I literally run across the gym when I see a machine available, you have to be aggressive to get what you want.

Had a little emotional hiccup but the manager Amber took the situation and was able to listen and solve the issue. Overcrowded and not enough machines. To use black card spa you have to go back upstairs for every amenity you need to book then go back down to use it. And not sure why not the lower level always smells like vomit.

I’ve been going here for over a year, when I first started it was amazing. Not crowded and I could be in and out within 1 hour. Now I can’t even get through a full workout, machines are always taken for extended periods of time, and teenagers just stand around chatting around machines. The most recent thing, I’m sure it is from the rain we had the other day but it smells like death downstairs and I cannot hold my breath for an entire workout. I am able to do half of a workout (not in order) upstairs but need the machines downstairs where it smells HORRIBLE. At least close the location until you figure it out.

Planet fitness is a decent gym. It’s by no means luxury but it has exactly what you need to get where you want to go. As I always say.. no frills experience. You get what you pay for! My favorite part about the top tier membership is that you gain access to red light therapy full body machines as well as tanning (which as all females know, is crucial during winter time) I give it a 4 simply for its quirks sometimes , but all in all- it’s a good gym. Worth the money in my opinion x

I can get a good cardio workout but the weight machines and free weights floor are always so crowded.
Besides that, nice gym, clean and most of the equipments work.

I’ve been going to planet fitness for years all over the country. Just recently moved nearby and decided to check out this location. Worst one by far I’ve been to. Severely overcrowded, equipment often misplaced and scattered around the gym. No matter the time of day I found myself fighting over spots with crowds of high schoolers, who hover over machines and take up huge spaces. Not a good vibe or environment. Will gladly pay more somewhere else to avoid this problem.

This was great location. The old manager, really nice lady with the glasses, she fixed this gym. It was really nice coming there and everybody was friendly, stuff was great, it was clean and well maintained, but then last month I saw new stuff there and I was wondering what's happening and today the new so-called manager approached to me without saying hi, good morning, or good afternoon, just approached me and told me that I have to leave if I don't a sneakers. I was with flip-flops and socks. I visit Planet Fitness location from Maine to Jersey to upstate New York, Long Island, and the rule was that you have to have a socks and even this will be okay, but the way how she spoke to me, it was not like, it was not talking to the client, it was like concentration camp. I felt like I'm a prisoner and especially when she pointed the finger and told me to leave. That's not how you treat human being, forget about client or customer. So here we go, I told her that she's gonna have to cancel, I want her to cancel my membership after three years. I want her to click on my cancellation. Since she's acting tough like that, you have it, you have your gym. I want to see for how long without customers you can be open there. So go get some manners, number one, learn how to speak to the people, and then act like a manager.

Zero stars if I could. Awful customer service today. The ladies locker room was flooded out. Okay, fine, but do ya think they could tell you when you sign in? I come back upstairs, in street clothes, holding my bags, and ask where can I change. The front desk - ready - tells me to find a bathroom in a local department store, and names 2 in the area. Really? Then, the clueless manager is standing there in shock when I get upset about being told to go FIND A BATHROOM in a local department store. All could have been avoided had you told me upon entering. Plus, the place is always crowded since the gym on Duffield closed. Don't bother.

My home gym and WAS one of the better ones in the city - then Duffield closed and its entire membership was migrated here. Gym is essentially unusable now - always packed, all equipment in use. Crowd meter always reads 'as busy as it gets.' Another review said the same person owned this one and Duffield, so I'm editing this to say if true, it IS Boerum's 'fault' that Duffield closed. Terrible gym. I don’t understand how it can be so big but yet feel so small. It’s so cramped in there and there basically always a line for every single machine in there. Ever since the closed the one a duffield it’s been chaos. Being in there always forces you to switch up the routine you already had set because of the lack space and machine hogging that goes on. Planet Fitness is a very popular gym in ny and makes soo much money but can’t seem to ever get it right. Closing down Duffield and forcing everyone into one crowded location is going to cost you in the long run. Since 2021 all the benefits of PF have disappeared. Now its dirty crowded gyms and no 24 hour service. Pf in other cities always seem to be better but Ny locations really hate their customers

This would be a 5 star review except for one issue, but it’s a really big one. The gym is well lit, clean and well maintained, the employees are friendly and helpful, and they recently added more bench press stations, resolving my only complaint. Having said that, we’ve stopped going to this location because of one issue. Ownership combined two Brooklyn gyms into one and it is now hopelessly overcrowded. I went there for an hour and a half one day, and did my work out completely out of order, jumping onto machines as they became available. Even so, there were four stations I never got to. In the times since they combined the two gyms, I’ve never had a complete workout. As best I can tell, the crowd meter on the app doesn’t actually work. On the day that was the final straw for me, it said 4 out of 10 stars. It was even hard to find an available locker in the men’s locker room.

We have a black card membership, so we’ve started hopping on the subway to go to a different PF. But for the members who don’t have a black card, they’ve been totally ripped off by ownership. The same franchise owner owned both clubs, so presumably their profits will go up, even if they lose 20% of their membership, which they might. But the real bottom line is their move to combine both clubs was in complete and total bad faith to their members.

Lots of people here complaining about how busy it gets but boy they have not seen Bensonhurst or Bay ridge location. This is nothing compared to those locations. I’ve been traveling from Bensonhurst because of all the available equipment they have. Also there’s down times, it will always be busy during rush hour 🤷‍♀️. I took a break from the gym because of a recent injury and I was in shock upon returning this week. They have updated the machines and moved things around, however it has become so packed that it’s practically unusable. Not a single machine has been free and you’ll have to wait long times. Planet Fitness made the dumbest decision to close down their Downtown Brooklyn location on Duffield St and move everyone to this location. Many people, including myself, never received any email or notice beforehand. Now, it's like a complete zoo here every day. Impossible to workout in peace at this gym with the amount of crowd.

It's such a shame because this location is actually a little nicer on the inside than the now closed Duffield St location, but it's now an extra 10 min walk. Planet Fitness was the best budget gym option in Downtown Brooklyn and now it's gone.

Boreum has been my home GYM since it's opened. The different workers and management over the years has been very nice. I can say this I've met my gym family from this location. We stick together and makes sure we ask politely how many reps a member has so we can use the machines, etc. The only issue is the is the changing room. Too many ladies takes up time in the changing room (doing other than changing). Please work on getting a timer (min 5 minus) on the door or a worker to monitor the time on how long a person is using it.

It is really ridiculous. There are times ladies come out with food and just their phone (taking selfies). It is very inconsiderate and rude. There weretimes, I had to knock on tbe door to let them know other people is waiting. But other than that, Planet Fitness (Boreum) is the best gym location for many years. I want to give a shout out to Nick, the trainer who had been working very hard and getti g to here he is at. We need a trainer who knows what they are doing and give advice and points.

I've watched him from a worker to a training people! 💯💯 Keep it up Boreum.🎉 Oh by the way, please try to open up another location down Brooklyn because it is getting too crowded (especially since members from the Duffield location came over). 💪💪💯💯

I travel lot, and have so much appreciated this gym. no commercial greediness, but so so laid back. a gym with great facility, clean, well maintained, and friendly super chill yet attentive staff. I'm really enjoying the Boerum Place Planet Fitness. It's clean, trainer Nick is really sensitive to where I'm at and how I'm working, the staff are accommodating and friendly, and if you're a blue card member, the massage chair and bed are really good at regenerating me after a hard workout. (I was told that that may be due to their ability to remove the lactic acid buildup.)

I felt like I needed to express my appreciation for this particular location. The workers are nice, the place is huge so the machines aren't cramped together like other locations, everything is clean and in order, not to mention all the recent upgrades. The equipment is always clean and well-maintained, which is a major plus. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the gym itself is never too crowded.

Some of the equipment is only partially functioning.
I wish their equipment would sink with my phone.
I wish they had more free weights and less people.
And I wish they would just let us have a scale in the locker room.

But, for $15 a month in NYC, I can just use the mirror to know I'm still fat. Great value. I don't know how they pay the bills.

This gym itself is fine and actually one of the better PF locations, but if you need help with your membership for any reason, the associates lie to your face to provide "customer service" but it seems like they run on a quota/comission or something is off. I have a knee laceration that required ER visits and rest for months. I tried to pause my membership 2x once online (they never reached out to respond to me request) and in person on 9/1 at 5:18pm to pause my membership and they never processed it. I called them today as well and they can pretend to pass the issue to a manager. As a matter of fact, any time you talk to an associate they count it as a "check in" in the app even though you don't use the facilities. They continue to charge me and you cannot get the contact for the manager. They say there are no refunds or credits either eventhough I have attempted to make contact and received no real assistance. Bad business practices and sketchy.

This location has a large black card lounge, relatively spacious, not too busy on weekends, and is nice location to run errands as well.

I have been in the gym multiple times for the past 2 months to cancel my membership and they claim my membership hasn’t “synced to their gym” because I signed up online. I am being charged every month even though I no longer want to belong to this gym and the error of their system syncing is not my responsibility. They then said they’d take my bank account off their system while they take care of the tech issue so I am not charged and that was untrue since I just got charged again for September.

I’ve been coming here for two months and I joined to be able to do pull ups. Literally the assisted pull up machine has been broken for over a month and despite frequent requests it’s still not fixed. The girls bathroom had a weird slippery substance all over the floor which got on my shoes and me constantly wiping my shoes and using the spray provided and all, it still won’t come off. I fell while working out after it not coming off my shoes. The calves curl up and the abdominal machine is also broken for ages now. It’s exhausting
