Seems like this place is always remodeling (nothing to complain about though!) Space is kept fairly clean. They need to turn the music down though, almost everyone in there has headphones/earbuds in! Bought a membership in April. And now owe $114 dollars not having set foot in the gym. If you cant make money upfront, hire people that can sell or make you gym more desireable, why resort to "scammy" "by the way" fee schedule, that is not upfront. Im paying and cancelling asap. I am a new member to PF. This location is spacious and has a decent amount of machines, but it seems grimey . Many people aren't sanitizing, either. Although nice, I have yet to see any of the staff leave to clean stations when the opportunity arises. It seems dusty in areas, including the paper towel dispensers. Even the disinfectant spray bottles seem dirty. The women's locker room is always flooded by the sinks. There are also no full length mirrors in the locker room or bathrooms. I'm not sure if that's done purposefully or not.

Some of the treadmills don't work. They could use more stair climbers and free weight benches. I ended up switching to another location. Personally, I'd only go here in a pinch.

The gym is filthy. Showers look like they hadn't been cleaned in a year. Mold everywhere. After informing the staff about the showers, they did clean them or at least changed the moldy shower curtains. Shower walls and surfaces are still pretty slimy.
Treadmills, elliptical machines and other equipment is covered in dirt. Not sure if they have a vacuum or something to wipe off machines because I've never seen anyone cleaning. When I had a membership years ago, someone was usually cleaning. That is not the case anymore. I have no idea what the other reviews are taking about. This gym is dirty.

I've been a member here on and off since 2011. There were some really great years, followed by a steep decline just before the pandemic. Last year though, it seemed to have really turned a corner- clean, responsive staff, working machines.

Unfortunately, this did not last.

Over the summer the air conditioning was out for about a month. People would prop open the doors, especially at night, making it full of bugs. Especially in the evening folks would smoke in the open door below the TV that plays CNN. Staff were aware, but rarely did anything. It was unusable for anyone with asthma and so hot it was unsafe.

Well the air con finally got fixed. But now the sinks in the men's room have been broken for over a month. This is nasty. A lot of guys j just aren't washing their hands. There is a constant puddle on the floor, and it is very slippery. See the photo from today. I'm literally on a bike smelling pee. Guys vape on the bathroom as well, which is generally pretty gross. They hung a sign saying they are trying to buy new sinks a few weeks ago.

All the operational issues and general decline of primary building features such as ventilation and sinks give the impression that there are financial or management issues. I plan to speak with corporate and the health department, but folks about to sign up should be aware of what is occurring.

***Addendum: email you what exactly? Please just go fix the problem. Fix the sinks, keep on top of basic building maintenance. I don't see what emailing you will accomplish. Have you not been in your bathroom? Is this somehow a surprise?

I choose the East Greenbush Planet Fitness location when I'm on my way to pick at Samadcotts Orchard in Kinderhook NY. I pass by the gym and a lite workout is the perfect way to get limber and energized. I have a Black Card and a friend sometimes joins me to share in the workout.

We are always greeted with genuine smiles and are left to work out without interruption.

The machines are well maintained and spaced appropriately. The cleaner spray bottles with paper towels are spaced throughout the facility and are always stocked.

I am glad that there is this kind of quality gym only minutes from my home.

It’s clean and the staff keep it tidy, but it’s constantly packed. If you go between 3pm and 10pm, getting on cables and and smith machine is a 10min wait, minimum. It’s a good gym but you’re going to be here for an extra 20 minutes over the course of a workout due to waiting. They suffer from the classic problem every planet falls victim to: far too many cardio machines and not nearly enough actual lifting equipment.

There are plenty of showers, but are smaller. Decent shower heads.

I noticed several items out of order and awaiting service which I found odd. A handicap shower, a locker room outlet, and both hydromassage beds. I came in just to use the hydromassage, but now have been introduced to the massage chairs.... these are not the kind you experience during a pedicure!!! I'm unsure if they're the same at all PF's, but I will definitely be using this more instead. I've been going to PF for a decade now and never once tried them

Overall this is a great gym for the price. It’s convenient, everyone is very friendly, and there’s lots of equipment to choose from for your workout.

However, there are so many treadmills that are always out of service (some of them have not worked since I joined the gym 6+ months ago). I have reached out and spoken to staff about this and the treadmills are just constantly out of order. The treadmills are also awkwardly spaced out, with some of the only working treadmills touching each other- it’s too close and I don’t know why that is. Both of these issues can make it difficult to get your run in.

I also hope the gym becomes a little cleaner. The machines are all very dusty, and it’s unclear if they are cleaned beyond when users wipe them down after using the machine. The sinks in the locker room are also frustrating because the faucet is too small and does not reach the sink properly and water is constantly everywhere. Thankfully there are paper towels, cleaning supplies, and hand sanitizer everywhere to help.

Overall, good gym for the price, but please fix the treadmills!

I have been a long time member with Planet Fitness. I am a black member, there is always water on the floor in the women's locker room. Please take out those stupid rubber diverters and just lengthen the spout. Second they have two massage beds and one is always broken, Bed 1 doesn't inflate properly, again these two items have been like this for YEARS. I usually just say something at the front desk but tonight was particularly bad.

I haven't even been in any planet fitness because I only have one bank card. Why do they need a back up source to charge any fees or purchases? It's unfair to those who choose to manage their money without credit cards. Just seems bias to me. I’ve been enjoying this gym for years but this summer has been miserable on hot days. Please stop telling us to contact management when people post here regarding the lack of AC. Many have been complaining all summer . Last Friday was unbearable inside. Do you understand the risk associated with high heat and humidity during exercise? Well I fully understand it. High humidity prevents sweat from evaporating which cools the body. Combined with high heat, the risk of heat illness and potentially heart attacks rise sharply as core temp rises . Dehydration is another significant risk. There are also places on the floor that are bubbling up… that’s a fall risk.

On hot days this is a recipe for disaster especially for elderly and out of shape members.

Gyms need to be safe and the lack of AC isn’t a new problem. Hope your staff is well trained in first aid and treatment of heat illness….

On 4/13/23, a charge of $3.51 by Planet Fitness East Greenbush, NY showed up on my credit card statement. When I asked my club how would that happen, they told me my credit card was tied to Planet Fitness App check in key tag. So while someone else was buying drinks, I was charged accidentally. When I asked for a refund, they told me they couldn’t refund the obvious accidental charge. This was unacceptable. They never asked me if I wanted to link my card. If they did, I would’ve said no. They asked for my credit card when I became a member and they said this was in case they encounter a problem with my checking account for monthly fees. They never told me that they were linking my credit card to Planet Fitness App for in store purchases. I never signed up for that option. When I enter the club, they always scan my card. I do not see what’s on their screen. They said they could remove my credit card so accidental charges wouldn’t happen again but I’m definitely not satisfied as I wasn’t given a refund. This was very unprofessional. I didn’t bother disputing the charge with my bank since it wasn’t much but regardless of the amount, this was very bad customer service. I do not come to this club to be stressed out. I come here for the opposite. I suggest everyone to keep an eye on their credit card statements as this accidental charge might happen to anyone!

I take no pleasure writing a bad review, but this has to be. PF at EG is a fine place for people who come in and out quickly, only use the weights and then go home. There are plenty of free weights and machines and the space is huge. But if you want a total workout, including treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, et al, and you want to shower after, you may want to look elsewhere. There are currently ten broken treadmills (yes ten!) and I have reported this three times to the front desk. The clerks seem indifferent. There is not even a sign on them that they are out of order, they just collect dust. No effort is being made to repair or replace them. The men's locker room is a mess. Seldom ever swept, and never mopped. Soap dishes go empty for days, as do towel dispensers. Two of the shower drains are clogged. Towels have run out twice recently because someone forgot to reorder them. Hand sanitizer that was plentiful during COVID is now empty on many the dispensers and the hand sanitizer in the men's locker room has been empty since last summer.

As I indicated, I take no pleasure in writing this. Up until last summer this place deserved five stars, especially during COVID, but something happened around early fall that has now gone to hell. No one cares.

Excellent gym for easy access, quick workouts, cardio, tanning, or non heavy days. Very clean. Hours are good and it’s usually only busy around 5pm. Horrendous, offensive, blaring music ruins this gym. We shouldn't be forced to feel like we are at an inner city night club at 2am on a Saturday just to get some exercise. I visit over a dozen different Planet Fitness locations across the States each month. Each one is unique in itself. This one had to be mentioned for its rather lackluster costumer service experience. The staff member on duty was definetly zoned out. Wasn't really attentive and just didn't want to be bothered. Additionally she was not really sure if her POS system worked as I stood there trying to pay with my phone for 5 minutes eventually giving up and running off to get my CC from the car. My entire interaction with her was rather disappointing. I don't expect much but how I was engaged with and her overall demeanor was very disheartening. She could be great just needs to exhibit more energy and enthusiasm, this is a gym and not a morgue.

I have the blackcard since I live a somewhat itinerant lifestyle and the best part about it is having the ability to experience what different PF locations have to offer. This one has been one of the nicest I've been to by far (and we're talking at least 10 different PF gyms). The gym is spacious yet not unnecessarily big, the staff are actually nice unlike at some other locations I've been to, and most importantly it's clean! In the age of covid, cleanliness is paramount, even if other gym goers don't wear their masks. I appreciate the clean locker rooms and seeing most people wipe down their equipment. Though I still wear my mask and take extra precautions when out in public, I have the peace of mind that I am in the best health situation while working out at this club. Keep up the good work!

Very humble atmosphere. I go in as soon as I wake up and get a nice 45 min to 1 hr work out in and im prepared for the day. Customer service is great, they really keep it clean and although its small, they have a nice variety of equipment.

I have been going here for about a year now. The staff is friendly and helpful and equipment is clean and in good shape. Usually, I want to just get in and get out, but there are regulars there if you are looking for a social atmosphere. Great value. I recommend.

Came in here today a little nervous but that quickly went away. This gym is very clean and supportive. I must say the lady that helped me today had very nice eyes, very captivating green eyes. Wonder if she is single? Hmm lol no but this is a fantastic gym with fantastic locker rooms and bathrooms.
