Had a terrible experience in this gym because of the manager Bria. Just disgusting . This gym deserves 0 stars if had the option. Bria the manager is extremely unprofessional, disrespectful. She has no manners what so ever and is not fit to be a gym manager. She should be working in cleaning bathrooms. Extremely unprofessional, I approached her about my membership which I had for over a year to ask some questions , and she declined to assist me. I asked about the bathroom/ water fountain issues and she basically cursed me out and said get out of my face. Bria will make your gym experience horrible!

I’m 15 years old and I had a paid for membership and had my dad sign the parent consent. The manager brea Bennett harassed me, threatened to call police and banned me and closed my membership without letting me transfer to another gym because 3 years ago I sneaked into the gym when I was 12💀. I’m currently trying to contact customer service. All my friends have had aggressive issues with her as well with many of my friends being threatened of being banned over stuff like wearing jeans

One of the male employees was giving me a attitude over trying to eat a sandwich at a table saying you can have a snack but not a meal. Being nasty to its members is not a way of being respectful. Stay away from this gym because of THE MANAGER Bria!!! Cancelled my membership bc of her! Experience with her was so consistently negative that it overshadowed everything else about the facility. Zero stars does not even begin to reflect how unacceptable her conduct is. She piig. I had a inquire with my account and membership, extremely unprofessional . Few of few my freinds wanted to come to this gym. I told them do not as long as this manager Bria is working here. Extremely rude and disrespectful. I tried contacting corporate I couldn't get thru. Bria should not be working here. I went to speak to her on another occasion for the locker room, bathrooms were not working and a Male!!! Walked inside as I was chaning. She basically spat in my face... disgusting and rude are the only words to describe Bria the manager . Stay away from this gym .

I've been a member for a little close a year and have very few complaints. It's essentially a you get what you pay for. The staff is super friendly and welcoming every time. I prefer to go in the morning because at times, it can get crowded, especially between 5-7 pm, so if you have the opportunity to go at any other time, do so. The ab and stretching area can get a little tight at times, too, but nothing too big of a deal.

I have been a member for more than two years. Water fountains never work for weeks at a time and instead of finding alternate solutions or offering free water they still charge. It’s okay to be out of service for a few days but for the two years I have been going here, it has never worked consistently. Massage chairs are often out of service. Once all of the Bathroom were out of service for days! Staff is super nice but you can tell whoever owns this place, doesn’t care about its members.

Building on someone else’s report of the manager (Brea Bennet?), I had a funny experience with her today that showed how laughably rude and trashy she is. She was blocking the door (btw, while she came to work wearing pyjamas lol) so no one could go into the gym because she feels she’s entitled to it I guess. When I opened the door, she literally had a temper tantrum and was screaming in my face, bragging she was the manager saying she’d report me and called me a dumbass and whatever for a solid minute. I just ignored her because she’s trashy. I couldn’t care less what she does, but Planet Fitness should have better standards and remove unfit people like this from their jobs.

Oh and the water has been broken for two weeks and apparently won't be repaired for two months. So the manager is too lazy/cheap to even bother getting the water repaired for two months lol. Replace her asap.

This facility has two water fountains. They are both broken at the same time. When I questioned the staff they admitted to breaking them by playing with the pressure too much. Staff said the fountains would not be fixed for at least two months. On top of that they had the audacity to charge me for a bottle of water. I guess I’m just nostalgic for the days when businesses actually cared about the people that keep them afloat. Shame on you Planet Fitness. Bring water with you when you go to work out!!!

Today I had an unpleasant experience at this branch just for using a machine for which I am paying. They came to interrupt my routine three times during my stay at the gym. The staff was chasing me, watching me. I couldn't stand the harassment anymore and I had to leave the gym. I just want to be left alone. I have never felt this feeling of harassment. I just want to exercise.

I had a charge on my card for a late fee when my payment is autopay, and was not late. I had my bank statement as proof, including the monthly payment that was returned back the next day, proving a glitch on their part. I tried to get in touch with the manager who said she'd call me back and never did. After a few days I called and she refused to speak on the phone, instead having a front desk staff member named Dante be the middle person, which was unnecessary and unprofessional. She refused to speak to me on the phone, or give me her supervisors name. Instead she said I can send my complaint to her email... really? And what is that going to accomplish, when the complaint is regarding her not carrying out her responsibilities as a manager, at the very least answering a call from a customer. I tried finding a complaint number or email to get in touch with PF, it's practically non existent. Completely ridiculous! But I'm going to continue until I get into touch with the proper department. I would not recommend this gym location to anyone, and the manager Bria, who is employed at the Austin St location in Forest Hills, Queens NY should either be retrained, or fired. She is not management material.

Gym is nice and so is staff. It’s clean and the machines are well maintained. The only issue is the machines vs cardio ratio is off. They have entire areas of unused elliptical and treadmill machines but you’ll have lines 2-3 people deep for some chest machines. If they rebalanced this a little bit I would give this a 5 star rating.

The gym isn’t too shabby if you can dodge the crowds on weekdays!

It could really use a little TLC, though. Starting with some better air conditioning, like AC or those huge ceiling fans, would be a game-changer because it tends to get a bit musty. I’ve been to another PF where the AC was fantastic, and the gym was cool all the time.

Plus, it would be awesome to have a few more machines, like a lying leg curl bar, an Elevate core AB machine, and a Glute bridge machine.

Had to cancel my membership for the unwillingness to help of a worker here and was sent an email asking: “what could’ve we done differently to keep you as a member.” Well here’s my response:

Hire workers that actually want to help instead of giving attitude and false information. At the Forest Hills location, the employee whose initials are A.B. is the reason I canceled my membership. I arrived a couple minutes before closing, but instead of quickly helping me downgrade as other workers had told me was “easy and fast,” he chose to argue and dismiss me. He stood there at the computer, fully capable of processing my request, while people were still leaving the gym — so it wasn’t like he was rushing home. Yet he preferred to waste time telling me why he “couldn’t” do it, until the time ran out and I had no option left but to cancel.
What made it worse is that he admitted canceling would take only 2 minutes, but downgrading would “take 10.” Instead of helping me with my original request, he dragged out an argument for over 5 minutes, which was more time than it would have taken him to just downgrade my membership. That is pure unwillingness to help. And on top of that, when I asked how long I could still use the gym after paying for the month, he gave me a completely wrong date. He said the 16th but then when I tried to go to a different gym they told me I’m not allowed to use the gyms from the moment I canceled it. Something A.B. DIDNT LET ME KNOW. whether out of laziness or just to make me leave, I’ll never know.
I came in trying to stay with Planet Fitness, willing to accept stricter terms and a one-year commitment, but thanks to this employee’s attitude, dishonesty, and refusal to help, I ended up canceling altogether. He made me feel like my business meant nothing. If you actually care about keeping members, start by making sure employees like A.B. don’t drive them away with disrespect, excuses, and a complete lack of customer service.

Wish i could put 0. Brea Bennet AWFUL manager. Threatening, aggressive and confrontational for a manager. Absolutely not fit for this role. Needs to be footed asap. Corporate has received a full report.

The past week there has been a man walking around the gym with a mini skirt on. A full grown man. Beard and all. I saw him walk into the women’s room once before. I complained to staff but nothing was done. Today I come in and see a bench being disassembled and I fill it to ask what’s going on. Because clearly I’ve seen very suspicious activity and the staff being completely unresponsive. I had a gut feeling that this stranger with a skirt on will do something in the women’s locker room. But I didn’t even get to hear anything until I was promptly kicked out by the manager. Who also wanted to throw hands… but that’s so unprofessional… embarrassing honestly.

I have plenty of evidence and have filed it all to the proper authorities (police precinct 125) right around the corner and Planet Fitness is very well aware of all of this. Still nothing is done. DO NOT COME ANYWHERE NEAR HERE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY.

A good gym if your goal is to get stronger and stay fit. Great price, and going 2 or 3 times a week its super-affordable. Don't expect much, or you'll boohoo like some of these reviewers. What you get is a mix of equipment, and, on most days, a clean gym and locker/bathrooms. Staff is good, never had a problem. I usually go earlier evening or late evening on weekdays, because it can get busy. Or, Friday night or weekend mornings when its quiet.

I don't think this is just a PF thing, but there are times ppl hog 🐷machines and watch their phone. Doesn't bother me much, but it'd be nicer to have a friendlier, community sharing vibe.

Today and the other day, this young lady at the front desk was really really really rude. I felt she is taking her frustration out at us. Twice already, we are depressed and upset with the experience. She is the only one that gives us the attitude. I am looking for another gym in the area. Not taking this BS.

This is one of the best Planet fitness I’ve been to. First the Cons, there’s only one and that’s the size. It’s one of the smaller gyms. That’s the only con. The Pris are the following: conveniently located on Queens Blvd half a block away from the M,R,E & F trains. Also near 4 different bus lines. The gym is very well maintained and cleaned. Thats due to the person in charge, Bria. Bria always greets everyone with a genuine smile and is so helpful. Her staff is also amazing. Props to them all: Alexandra, Shira, Brendon, Lee, Derrick and Faheem just to name a few. You guys are kind and professional. Keep up the great work.

I'm extremely disappointed with the experience here. The gym is always overcrowded, and there’s barely any space to move around. On top of that, the staff are consistently rude and unhelpful. They act like they don’t care at all, even when you bring up legitimate concerns.

Just two weeks ago, I reported that someone was hogging three sets of dumbbells at once and refusing to let anyone else use them. When I told a staff member, their response was basically, "That's normal, we can't do anything about it." Seriously? That kind of behavior should not be acceptable in any gym. It’s frustrating, unprofessional, and makes members like me feel completely ignored.

The gym is lacking in lower body equipment—there are very few leg machines compared to the abundance of upper body ones. During all times, especially in the summer, it’s incredibly crowded and difficult to get time on any machine without a long wait, which really limits the effectiveness of a workout.

Additionally, the policy allowing kids to stay all day has a noticeable impact on the environment. It often feels chaotic, and paying members are left waiting while kids occupy space and equipment. A two-hour limit for free access would help make the experience more enjoyable and fair for everyone.

The staff at this location are consistently professional and helpful. However, the overall experience has declined significantly this summer. PF’s free program for high school students has made the gym overcrowded throughout the day. Many of these students monopolize equipment and disregard basic gym etiquette, making it difficult for paying members to get a proper workout in.

To make matters worse, the air conditioning has been out for several weeks—during a stretch of intense NYC heat waves—with no communication about when it will be fixed. This is especially frustrating given that this is the only gym in the neighborhood. At this point, members are simply not getting what they paid for.

I like all the personality's of the people who work there. They are always polite and informative and kind. The gym is well organized I like the separation of machine so there is no running to one side of the gym and back and forth which always is a waste of time they have everything in the order it should be. I’m writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the recent referral promotion at planet fitness forest hills location.

Two days ago, I referred my sister to join the gym using the official referral link I received. She completed the application with the same staff member who helped us today. However, when we followed up, we were told that my referral code did not register due to a possible page refresh — and that nothing could be done.

While I understand that technical issues may occur, it’s frustrating to hear that there’s no way to honor the referral when we followed the correct process and acted in good faith. I believe this defeats the purpose of the referral program and reflects poorly on the gym’s commitment to its members.

I kindly ask that you review this matter and consider honoring the referral as intended. We’re both enthusiastic about being part of this gym community, and I’d appreciate a resolution that reflects fair treatment and respect for the promotion terms.

Very disappointed with my experience at this Planet Fitness location tonight (May 20th, around 9:50 PM). I’ve been a loyal member for over six months, but what happened today made me seriously reconsider continuing my membership.

I was denied entry because I was wearing Crocs. The front desk staff — a bald man in a black shirt — told me that starting today, Crocs are no longer allowed. I respected that, even though I wasn’t informed of the change in advance.

But just a few minutes later, I saw another person wearing open-toe slippers go right in without being stopped. The same staff member didn’t say anything to them. Whether he didn’t notice or just chose not to care, it felt like I was being unfairly and possibly even discriminatorily treated.

If Planet Fitness cannot enforce its rules consistently and treat all members equally, I will be canceling my membership

It’s a really nice gym that has a lot of very good amenities for post workouts. The gym gives a very good vibe when it comes to getting a workout in general.

My only little pet peeve was the payment systems. For some reason I had to add my bank account and my credit card number for payments but instead of using my credit card for payments it took money for my bank account, which is a very weird policy that planet fitness has. Because of the policy I had to cancel and terminate my membership, which was very sad and hurtful towards me given that I liked everything for the most part about planet fitness.

I recently had an unpleasant experience at this location that I feel needs to be addressed.

As I was exiting the elevator, a female staff member was blocking the door, which took me by surprise. I was clearly trying to leave, but instead of stepping aside, she kept saying “excuse me” in a way that felt confrontational and stared at me with an attitude.

As a customer, I come to Planet Fitness expecting to enjoy my time and feel welcomed, but this interaction was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. I hope the management takes the time to educate their staff on treating customers with respect and courtesy. A gym should be a positive and friendly environment, and I believe this is an area that can be improved.

I love this planet fitness, unfortunately my location was closed due to new equipment being loaded and renovated. So I had the pleasure of traveling all the way out to forest hills location. , great workout machines and lots of equipment. The locker room could be a bit bigger . While the manager Bria and a couple of the staff are a very down-to-earth, approachable ensemble, the gym itself has recently become increasingly lacking in enforcement of protocols concerning appropriate gym behavior, considerations and courtesies.

Because of the manner in which some of the guests use space with no consideration for the elderly especially, this gym location can at times be an unsafe obstacle course. Unfortunately, the gym staff cannot keep up with the goings on at this location.

Moreover, some of the youths at the gym are defensive and snotty when politely asked about other options concerning where they situate moveable benches and weights (spread out to narrow the pathway). For many at this gym, it is a free-for-all where some people wear tank tops, sweating on equipment without cleaning/sanitizing (with many available spray bottles and paper towels to clean the devices in place throughout this location).

Many people spend considerable time on their weight-training machines, using their phones longer while seated than working out. Such circumstances leave more conscientious guests in a place of being singled-out as “bothersome” should they reach out to the young employees, some of whom will never look you in the face or greet you.

Often this is a facility where one cannot count on any given day if one’s workout will go smoothly, in a timely manner, and efficiently or or if one must wait around for machines that are high in demand because there is only one such device.

While several of the staff have lovely, helpful dispositions, some do not, thereby making this particular location proof that the great pricing has everything to do with the saying, “You get what you pay for.” Certainly, if you’re determined to get a great workout and are not in a hurry, this franchise is still a great value until further notice.

If you’re accustomed to a more upscale gym where manners and behaviors of patrons are in order and you are not concerned about your gym budget, this is not an ideal place for a workout you can count on each time you go—especially one that is without people who lack gym manners.

If one attempts to courteously address something directly to a fellow guest concerning weights being in the way or the idea that a guest is monopolizing two machines simultaneously during a busy time—while spending considerable time on one’s Smart phone, one must be prepared to expect that some of the younger guests especially can be aggressive and disrespectful. Bria, this location’s manager, does what she can to within reason and has even in my presence banned a very volatile, hostile guest whose behavior warranted having the police contacted.

So, unless you’re one to ignore the mixed bag of apples at this gym, it can have disappointing, frustrating days. Certainly, if one is determined to get in a great workout—regardless of the many variables at this gym, your workout will happen.

Still, I recommend chanting a Buddhist mantra at home prior to your workout at this gym.

Nonexistent customer service. Management is not only incompetent and dishonest, but it appears that they're specifically trained to provide the worst service possible and regurgitate the word "policy" over and over again to the point where it has no meaning. I had to hear the same sentence for 20 minutes straight until I got tired and walked out the door. They'll keep your bank info on a sticky note right on the table for everyone to see or grab. They do not care about you as a customer at all and would rather scam fees out of you than respect your business. Never again.

I just wanna spend 1h training and get back to work, but the lack of machines, and kids spending 10, 15min on them, it’s impossible to do a complete daily training. But there’s no other option in the neighborhood. I wish Blink fitness also comes to Forest Hills. It’s way better than Planet Fitness

Overall experience at first was good. Gym is specious and always clean, machines looked and felt new.
The gym has lots of potential, but I agree with other comments out there going over poor customer service. I understand the lack of experience could limit an employee to come up with proper solutions, it might take few instances to fix a problem - but you could see if an employee is willing to help. However you can also see when a person talks down to you with an authoritative almost aggressive tone. The membership I had was for my son, I was alerted to fix a billing issue and I attended to it in person on 9/14/24 or 9/15/24, a young man with just a week at the gym assisted me and even though he didn't have all answers he was able to figure it out and was polite.
I was under the impression all was fixed until three days later the problem came up again, this time my son reached out to me and I got to speak to a Brienne over my son's phone.
Now, all I can say is that the possible conversation turned quickly to an argument. If the owner of the gym reads this, you could kindly reach out to me and I can certainly elaborate on the details of my interaction with Brienne. I have reached other planet fitness clubs to try to understand where the breakdown was. I can say the following, other managers from other planet fitness in NY agree Brienne's behavior was unacceptable specially since she is your Gym's GM.
