Very disappointed. I was a guest at this Greenlawn location asking to be shown how to use one of the weight machines. The girl told me to come back when the trainer was there, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 7 and 3. Asked if there was anyone else or anyone there at the time and was told "no." This was Wednesday morning . I don't think this is the expectations of PF upper management and will try again another time.

This gym really turned down hill when the old manager left. The new manager and the new assistant manager suck. I think their names are Marissa and Tim. All the members hate both of the new mangers. The new manager Marissa doesn’t clean a single thing.

The manager Marrissa is very disrespectfull and yelled at my wife in front of my son who is only 12 scarring him. Eventhogh my wife used my membership without me there I've been a member for 6 years and you don't treat people that way. I have spoken to other members I know and they don't appreciate her attitude either so I think it would be a good idea for anyone who has seen her acting unprofessional to speak up since she is ruining this location. I have emailed corporate and I am awaiting a response.

Edit August 2025. Sorry to say, this gym has been going downhill for a long time unfortunately I have to change my review.
1)Instead of repairing machines they have opted to remove them completely, so that may save the owner $ on repairs. Its not true, the excuses we've heard about people wanting more room to stretch, there was always plenty of room to stretch, Ive been a member since 2018.
2)The bathroom walls are built up with crud over many years because the staff doesn't know how to clean them. Also stalls will be without paper for most if the day.
3)I work from Manhattan to the Hamptons, every Planet Fitness is different, this gym is not the worst, but a trip to any other PF nearby is way better than this Greenlawn location. See my original post below. The staff here is still very polite and helpful, but they have to defend the complaints of customers every day. Old review:

Plenty of treadmills and workout stations, free weights and Smith type machines.
Worn or torn fabric on machines is repaired in a fair amount of time, as well as any missing knobs.
Bathrooms are clean, the Black Card rooms are all well maintained.
I am a lifelong practiser of fitness and health, and as I know, nothing lasts forever but I hope Planet Fitness stays around.

Planet fitness is an incredible value and has a beautiful, clean new equipment and an incredibly well design layout that is pleasing on the eye. I highly recommend anyone who wants a very affordable monthly fee and a beautiful gym that has the latest and state of the art technical equipment to come try and work out at Planet Fitness.

I've been coming here since they opened, but this new setup just ain't it...where's all the elipticals?? and why are the new ones horrible? Like wth, they didn't need 20 of them but 8!? def. Isn't enough I've been there twice since they made the change and I've had to wait once so far for an elliptical I can only imagine what it's going to be like around January for all the new year resolutions, gunna need a sign up list🙄

Before I get into my 5 star review of this Planet Fitness location understand I travel for work and have been in many Planet Fitness locations and other gyms throughout the years.

This location (my home location) was recently, within the last month, renovated and the improvements are vast and I am very happy with the new layout/equipment

Staff - 5 Stars - kind, friendly, informative, and on the ball with cleanliness and knowledge of the facility. Management is on point.

Cardio - 5 stars - for most times of day there is new equipment. I haven’t had an issue but I also run outside sometimes if all the machines are taken.

Weight Area - 5 Stars - yes like every PF I wish they had higher weights than 75lbs but the area is now huge and plenty of room where most locations are crammed and under equipped.

Equipment - 4.5 Stars. Everything is pristine EXCEPT the cables that break aren’t repaired for a week at a time. There needs to be a better solution as cables are easily replaced. They also have room for an additional smith machine and it would go a long way to fix crowded times. Really small complaints.

Bathrooms / Locker Rooms - 5 Stars. Always clean and well stocked and enough room.

Members / Atmosphere - 5 stars - the people and even the kids here are respectful, put weights away, and the regulars say hello to one another

Overall - There is a reason I chose this location as my home one and I do have choices as I’m between 3 locations. The facility is well run and now with the new updates to equipment and layout makes this the nicest Planet Fitness I’ve been in. Some may have a “hook” with a view or cool option or two but this one is tops in my book. A+ job.

This gym used to be so much better. I have been coming to this location in particular since Covid. While the new added machines are nice, the turn around time to fix a machine here is about 2 weeks or more, as I stare at the same broken ab machine and treadmills. Between the broken machines and the constant tip toeing around buckets for a leaky roof, I am considering cancelling.

The bathrooms/locker room area need to be cleaned a lot better. Super dirty, all the floors are super sticky and super unsanitary, as well the locker themselves look like they have never been cleaned before. A lot of the cardio equipment doesn’t even work properly. Definitely needs some maintenance, cleanliness, and refurbishing done. ASAP.

My husband and I have been going to this location since the doors opened years ago.I would say for the most part it's been great.Staff is friendly and attentive to your needs and concerns. This location is fairly clean.The problem now is the fact that they are eliminating the 30 minute work out room!!!!!!which from the beginning they never implemented to following the rules when using this room !!!!!!but at least it kept an area where you can be in and out with having to wait for the hunker lunkers from hogging the machines or the people who sit on phones....I think having different areas for circuit,cardio,weights, abbs etc...is how a gym is designed to meet the needs and goals of everyone.

Overall, the gym is a good place. One thing that I’ve noticed is how the equipment is a little outdated. Speaking more personally, I prefer to have the smith machine straight instead of having it at an angle. There isn’t enough stair masters or smith machines and it’s usually occupied making me wait long. On the bright side, the staff is super polite and kind, the gym is clean, and plenty of cardio machines.

Disappointed in how this club does not attend to broken equipment. The Ab crunch machine has been out of commission for about a week and sadly this popular machine there is only one of in the entire club. But even more disappointing is that the machine is hardly broken. It is just missing a metal pin for the weights. This pin is available at Home Depot for less than $5 and the management does nothing about it.

The restrooms are always pretty clean and doesn't smell like a locker room. They're on top of any broken down equipment and it's usually never tagged out for too long. The workout floor is lit up and no one on top of each other. I do love how their hours work well with my work and school schedule - that was the golden ticket for choosing this gym.

If you have the motivation and time, this place is for you. Very Clean with plenty of machines to get a full body workout. Understandably, afternoons are busier, but never overcrowded. The staff are always smiling, kind and helpful. They are the best asset of the club.

I know that the Planet Fitness chain is cardio focused, but this location is overly so. Whereas my prior club at least, for the most part, had two of each of the more popular machines this one does not. Also, the strength training area is always crowded no matter what day or time of day it is...which makes the lack of machines even more annoying. However, if you are a cardio focused gym goer on a budget this location will satisfy all your needs and then some.

Update - I cancelled my Planet Fitness membership because of how truly awful this location is - it's always packed and the selection of weight training machines is laughably slim. The gym goers are mostly high school kids and geriatrics so be prepared to wait a while to use a machine while the kids goof off or the geriatrics move through their sets at a snails pace. Good riddance to this place.

It’s clean and affordable. They have the machines that you need to exercise. The rest is self-drive. Happy to see that parents can exercise with their teenagers. Some complaint about the gym being crowded during the summer, but I know the youth are in the right place and taking care of themselves. The adults need to lead better as supposed to complain that the gym is full. Get up early and avoid the late morning hours.
