I've been coming here for years and everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Whoever the new blonde woman is up front has by far the worst attitude ever and extremely unwelcoming! I walk in every morning just to get glared at from the corner she's always in. I always say good morning just to get ignored and or glared at.
Don't even bother trying to buy anything while there because they'll ignore you then make you feel like an inconvenience. I understand mornings are hard but don't let it out on your customers.
The morning staff from before summer 2025 were absolutely AMAZING! I don’t know what happened but nobody is friendly anymore.

I have the passport pass to PF and this is one of their better gyms. They need new treadmills as these “slip” above 9 MPH, but they have a lot of equipment, especially for a PF, the staff is nice and the gym is pretty clean. Don’t recommend locker rooms.

I stopped by this location for tanning only. The main lobby and black card area was clean. The front desk employee although alone on a Saturday morning was doing a great job multitasking scheduling me for tanning and discussing memberships with someone else. The location looks large and seems to have a lot of equipment. If in the area I would recommend trying this location.

It's affordable, clean, and has a variety of machines and/or free weights suitable enough to compliment virtually any person interested in improving their health and body regardless of the intensity of their workout schedule. I have belonged to many, many gyms as I've lived in many, many places across this country, as well as other countries in the Pacific Rim, including Australia, and I feel Planet Fitness is on par with any of the establishments I've used in any location. I highly recommend PF to anyone.

I have been going to the HP Planet Fitness several days a week. Place is very clean including the bathrooms and staff picks up weights, etc. that are left around. Very rarely is equipment broke. Very friendly and helpful staff and James always says good morning.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The whole place is light and airy with an upbeat ambiance. Planet Fitness provides modern and plentiful equipment unlike some gyms where you have to wait to use a specific piece of equipment. I top my workout off in the 30 minute room and then relax in the massage chair. I feel so rejuvenated when I leave.

Every time I go there at least 4 machines are out of order I’m a black card member and can’t use a machine because it’s broken why don’t they get fixed I’m going to check out the Riverhead location can go there 10 times a month being a black card holder it’s just a shame I live in Hampton bays and have to leave town to get a better experience at a gym when I have one 5 minute from my house that they obviously don’t care about it’s appearance I heard other members complain about the same thing so step it up Hampton bays stop looking so getto

I am not a local, but a traveling Black Card member, who have been paying extra membership fee. After I mentioned I was going to grab my cleaning supplies and take a shower, I saw a lady worker following me, and went into the mechanic room with a slightly strange facial expression.

I heard some switch click sound when I was in the shower room. Not for long, the hot water was cut. I guessed I've used all the hot water in the reservoir. Luckily it was a hot summer noon in June. Cold water worked for me at such an air temperature, but the miserliness I sensed made me feel extremely uncomfortable!

Another miserliness experience I had was the gym near UCSB. Feel sorry for the staff in these two gyms.

100% agree with CeCe. It's Wednesday and I made the same complaint about the 30 Minute Express. Trying to do my work out before worked and you have 4 guys playing on one machine. Asked them if they would be long and got a stupid look. Went to the desk and made a complaint and was told "we can't do anything legally about it". This is a constant here, all the time. Why do some have to abide by the rules and others don't.

Planet fitness gets a bad reputation in some places but I only have good things to say about this one. Staff is very nice and constantly going around cleaning the equipment. There are plenty of machines and when they do break they seem to get repaired reasonable quick. Hours are more convenient than most other gyms as well.

Avoid Wednesdays if you want to do the 30 min workout in 30 min. Fair enough that the high school kids choose that day to overwhelm the gym but along with the older folks who simply follow, that work out area turns more into a lounge. Or a library where kids just sit on the machines or better yet, sit on the floor against walls with their faces glued to their phones (branch-wide problem). I'm ok with settling for other nights, but I don't want to get into any more arguments with the people who don't want to get off the machines. There isn't even indication, like arrows, to help people determine which side the work out starts. Some staff seems unmotivated and totally disinterested in helping a patron out. Management needs to care a bit more and train staff to check on the fast work out area regularly, as much as possible. Right now it doesn't seem to be in control of its own business. I do find the gym comfortable to work out at and very clean, for the most part. (anon black card member)

The gym is small wouldn’t recommend, better off going to Riverhead location , also the manager James is enough to keep anyone away. Female type of attitude for an old man and customer service from him is horrible!!! I’ve had nothing but great experiences with this PF. I’ve only been to 5/6 locations around the NY and I have to say the staff is always accommodating. The equipment is in excellent shape and most importantly the layout is fantastic with plenty of different equipment (trx, medicine balls, kettlebells etc.). Great gym.

James at the front desk made me cry. I have been a planet fitness member for years. This isn’t my home gym. I wasn’t used to this type of sign in process for the tanning beds because my normal gym does it differently. He gave me know instructions as I was confused signing in. Then I went to the bed and it didn’t turn on. So I called the front desk and James answered and he was laughing at me. I was clearly confused and distressed and I asked him to please explain it and stop yelling at me. He proceeded to berate me and laugh at me. He made me feel dumb and destroyed my self confidence. I asked him again to stop being mean to me and he proceeded to laugh. I just ended up walking out of the gym in tears. For a gym that says everyone is welcome, their employees make you feel awful about yourself. I love planet fitness and I am a long-time member and I am shocked this happened

It's a affordable way to get a great workout in. If you use the crowd meter it's helpful for finding a useful time frame that works for you. However the front desk at 500-630 am isn't readily available..a few times. I have waited at the desk a few minutes and then went and got him and told wait two minutes. All to just use the massage beds I'm not waiting 5 minutes. Planet fitness should have a better place if front desk is busy.

Stay FAR away from this planet fitness. JAMES the so called “manager” he told me on the phone that he has two people in front of him and he had to deal with me later. And hes a manager? I was treated very unprofessional and told him to talk to me like an adult and like a manager…but failed to do so. James was rude and wouldn't help me because I wanted help with billing question. I would put a PROFESSIONAL MANAGER in this position not a child who cant have a conversation and satisfy the clients concerns.

Stair masters ALWAYS broken. Makes no sense. I pay for a membership they can’t maintain or get new equipment. They’ve been broken for about two years now.
