I gave it 3 stars because the ELLIPTICAL FELL APART WHILE I WAS USING IT

Since then, the owner has reached out and all the equipment has been checked. I'm sure they will continue to check their equipment regularly and hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I have been a member of this gym for approximately 7 years, my partner and I had not had any problems until September 21, 2025. My partner, I and my 2 daughters attended the gym and when I tried to scan the membership I had problems with one of the memberships. I asked a gym worker named Heimy Estrada for help and what she did was ignore me. My partner and I were talking to her and she ignored us. We wanted to go in to see if there was anyone else to help us and then she came out from behind the counter and stood in front of me provoking me as if I would hit her. She threatened to call the police. I had no problem telling her to call her that there was no problem and she called the police. When the police gave her version, I gave mine and the officer told me it is wrong for us not to help you if you are a member here. I showed the officer the memberships we checked in front of him and he confirmed that we are Gym members recommended that I open a case about the gym, which I am going to proceed with today, September 23rd. Her manager, named Rodrigo, called me as if asking for an explanation, which I tried to give but I heard him as if he wanted to justify what Heymi was doing. Gym workers are supposed to help clients, not to bother them. There are other workers there at the gym who are dark-skinned and are very friendly. I have never had any problems with them. If you are going to open a membership in this area, try to do it with someone other than her, if not, I assure you that you will receive the worst treatment from this person, Heymi Estrada

The most rude and disrespectful staff I’ve ever come across they had singled me out out of the whole crowd off ppl interepted my work out to tell me to mop the floors under the machine to clean any sweat left after the workout I diligently wipe down the equipment before and after each workout and now they are asking customers to mop down the floors it’s absurd!! They are extremely rude in approaching their clients to address any concerns or issues they might have they need better training and staff in my opinion planet fitness suppose to be a friendly and judgement free environment not this planet fitness don’t waste ur money or join this club! Crowd meter on the app is definitely not accurate. Place is packed at 2-3 bars, which I guess is good for the business. Place is swarmed with local high school kids. Waiting for a machine while people are on their phones is not uncommon. Weights never put back. A few things out of order but nothing crazy. This is a you get what you pay for situation. That all said I still think its worth the price.

If I could give this gym zero stars I would. Horrible in so many ways. Broken machines, overrun with teenagers as well as Middle Schoolers. Today I was told by a teenager that I wasn’t able to use the machine I went to because his water bottle was there to save his spot. When I brought this to the attention to the girl at the front desk she actually laughed and said there was nothing they could do. I have NEVER been to a gym that was run so unprofessional, and I have NEVER been to any gym that allowed someone to hold a machine by placing a water bottle next to it. Ridiculous that something like that is allowed.

I have been coming to this gym for past 5 years, last 2 months due to medical emergency i haven't been here, today was my first day back and wow, what a disaster, disappointment, another example of corporate people sitting in front of computers and not understanding what the consumer wants, they went from having bunch of useful.machines(still used to be a wait) to down sizing and replacing it will mostly useless equipment that no one uses, I have worked in the area different food establishments and now I see why the whole neighborhood is complaining business is slow, and then I spoke to staff and they said something lot of regular decided to move away from this gym, bottom line with every establishments u have to listen to the people on the floor they r there everyday and know ur business better then spreadsheets, whole area which has smoothies,vitamins,meal preparation types of establishments are down 50-60%, and walking in today made me understand why.

This place used to be great, but it has gone downhill quickly. Although they have new machines they’ve downsized the machines that people use most, like leg extension and leg curl. Weights are everywhere no one puts them back. Kids go for free in the summer which is great for them, but the paying customers have to wait long times to get on the machines while these teenagers sit on their phones, it’s ridiculous. Also I believe they are only putting water into the spray bottles now which is not sanitary at all. The liquid in the bottles has no smell and it appears to only be water. They must think we are idiots.

Worst Planet Fitness I’ve Ever Been To!

I’ve been to many Planet Fitness locations as a Black Card member, and I can’t begin to tell you how bad this place is. From the moment I walked in, I was met with a rude “welcome.” The gym has very few machines compared to other locations, and barely any hand sanitizers available—which is unacceptable.

It gets worse. I tried to book a massage chair, only to find out none of them were working. So I went to book a hydro massage instead, and was told to go to chair 11. When I got there, there was literally a staff member sitting in chair 11, just chilling. Completely unbelievable!

Save yourself the frustration and go to another location. This one is a total disaster.

Planet fitness Hauppauge is awful. The employees do not know what they are doing. I have had encounters with a few different employees regarding freezing my membership due a medical reason. They all told a different story and screwed up my checking account. I am canceling my membership. In addition, the bathrooms are always a mess. There are many inconsiderate members that hog up the machines for hours on end and you can never get on what you need. The list goes on. Save your money and go somewhere else. This location is a dump!

So disappointed. About a week ago this gym has gotten all new equipment. The way the machines are place all around the gym are pretty confusing. All leg machines should be with all the other leg machines, right? All the arm machines should be with all the other arm machines, right? I feel I'm trying to play "where's Waldo" in there.

Next is the fact that it has only been a week and already one machine is broken (not to mention the previous machines they had, 3 - 4 machines were always broken).

Another thing that is quite frustrating is no one puts the weights and plates back!! It's always such a mess even after this renovation. Lack of employees, maybe? But I see some on their phone while there's no paper towels in the dispenser as well...

Lastly, the smell of WEED is so nauseating, in the parking lot, in the bathroom/locker room, AND on the gym floor. Something seriously needs to be done about that, it gets ridiculous after 5pm.

I've been a member since 2019, this has gotten out of hand and I finally think it's time to bring this all to someone's attention.

So this past weekend I read Planet fitness Hauppauge brought in a bunch of new equipment..I thought awesome..until I came in .yeah they have new machines but far fewer of them..so if you thought wait times for certain machines was long before now it's worse..they went from 3 leg press pin machines to 1, 3 leg extension machines down to 1 , 3 leg curl machines down to 1 same with the chest press machine ..super disappointed..spent almost 2 hours here with half the time walking around looking for a free machine..I love the convenience of being so close to home but will have to start looking at other gyms in the area.

This location is not up to snuff compared to Bayshore. I went last night (~9PM) and got on one of the stair steppers. Completely wobbly once I started. I got off quickly because it felt like it would tip over—first thing to look at. Second, the bathrooms need to be cleaned more frequently: I mean properly cleaned, not just swept. Toilet AND shower stalls smelled of urine. Moreover, one shower stall ran out of hot water in minutes and was affected by every toilet flush. I had to move out of the way if the water became scalding. The winning parts are several machines that aren't available at Bayshore and a nice guy at the front, but the quality of the bathrooms and potential for harmful accidents will keep me away. Such a shame because it's closer to my house.

Nice gym, all employees are friendly but this girl working tn had such a negative attitude, looked like she didn’t even want to show up. Was updating my info and I asked her if she even worked here since she showed up in Pajamas & a hoodie lol , she wanted to show authority over me and goes IM THE MANAGER. Trust me I’ve never seen a manager show up to work with sleeping clothes on, no uniform. As a business owner, I would never appoint someone with no manners to ever manage something for me !

I pay for the Black card because I travel for work. It's a stressful job and I rarely have time to stop. But when I do have a break, I like to exercise and then get a massage chair after. Getting the massage after is a must and one of the main reasons I chose to join PF. I came to this location on a Thursday morning, and there is no staff to be found when I got there. So, I just came in without checking in. Then, an hour later, after still seeing not one staff member the whole time I've been there, I go to the front and wait for someone. I waited about 5 minutes and then a girl walks out while playing on her phone, sipping a drink. A younger girl with dark hair, with nails and an attitude proceeds to tell me that out of all of their massage chairs, they only have one hydro bed working out of at least 8 that I saw. She refused to try to help, and was extremely rude and uninviting. I will not be coming back to this location because I don't pay to deal with an attitude. I come to PF to release stress, not get more. If it was my business, she would be fired instantly.

DISGUSTING gym and Horrible customer service, could not find staff and had to wait about 10 mins for the staff to finally walk up to the front while gossiping about a member (actually pointing out who they were laughing about) so I could use the massage chairs. Then they gave me an attitude and acted all annoyed they had to do something. Hauppauge location is old and dirty. The machines are old and there are always some that don't work and even the water fountain has been broken for WEEKS at a time. The bathrooms always have toilet paper/ garbage on the floor or even USED hygiene products on the floor that sat there for 3 days!!! I was shocked to see it still there from when I was there days earlier. I tried to tell the staff and they just didn't care, then a male employee come over yelling at me saying that only male employees were working and couldn't go in womens locker room. What!? I've been there when men were "looking" at the plumbing and a sign had been put in the doorway. After that i finally started driving further bc I couldn't stand the disgusting state this gym is in and the employees dont seems to care.

I began coming to this gym about a year and a half ago and I loved it, the staff was always so helpful, kind and welcoming. Lately, that is not the case. The staff in the weekday mornings are nowhere to be found, the young girls always seem to have an attitude, and literally will not greet you or respond to you. I need to stop coming to this planet Fitness. Customer services isn't it. Staff playing video games and have you wait to use massage chairs. Playing video games and assisting a customer at the same time. Y'all so unserious about people's time. Playing video games on work computer on the clock. That's nice!

I had an Issue, Concern, and Problem with Hauppauge Planet Fitness on Motor Parkway..

It was never resolved.

I asked if there were Personal Trainers available.

I was told Yes.

I went there and was told that their Personal Trailers were available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Their Staff was totally UNHELPFUL.

I am very disappointed.

In the past the Saturday - Sunday staff have been great. Recently there has been an issue with opening the gym at 7am. Twice in the last month the person who was supposed to open the gym did not show up, leaving at about 20 to 25 people waiting in the parking lot for over a half hour. Many of them (including myself) gave up and left. Other than this, the gym is great.

Currently waiting for the gym to open and it’s 8:20 AM on a Saturday morning when it’s supposed to be open at 7 AM this has happened multiple times when the gym doesn’t open until well after the time it’s supposed to be open and there is a large group of people waiting to be let in. At this location on motor parkway ( my home club)

Planet fitness hauppauge is a mess!! Ive been to 20 different PF locations and its by far the worst. Nobody puts anything back on the racks where you can find them. Others are using 6 dumbbells when you can only use 2 at a time.

I have been going to this gym for years and lately it’s been going downhill, the bathrooms are dirty, they smell, the staff sometimes are non-existent and can’t even find them at the counter you wait and wait to use massage chairs because of no one being around, there are two or three staff that are good. Others are simply rude and on phones not even paying attention to the members. At least two occasions I have gotten attitude because I interrupted them while on the phone, one guy was checking his stocks. The most recent experience I am waiting to get into the back for a massage, and the girl is facing opposite direction on her phone I said excuse me 3 times finally I tapped my own phone on the counter top, she gives me an attitude because I was being rude to her. I was nothing but smiles and polite but she was pissed I tapped my phone to get her attention! When I said something im the rude one for calling her out on her unprofessional behavior, another female worker started getting on me as well for being rude when I’m simply stating that you should be more vigilant and professional in the work place and treat members with respect. Out of the three employees only the young man that was standing with them was being proffesional the phone girl stormed off and went in back room probably to go back on her phone. We go to the gym to wind down and feel good not have young staff members treat us with disrespect and stress us out even more when we simply just want to be in a safe and calm atmosphere without this behavior.

This location is the most disorganized I have ever seen from all locations I go to as a Black Card member. I only visited twice cause what I saw was horrible; I saw a guy with 4 different pairs of dumbbells only for himself nothing for anyone else. They don't re-rack the weights after use; I searched the whole gym looking for dumbbells and barbells cause they were left everywhere. Then I went to the 30 minutes workout area and spent 35 minutes there, the same time that one guy spent seated on the bicep curls machine browsing his phone. I've brought all of these to one staff member and everything I heard was excuses for them not following the gym rules. I thought I will have a nice experience at this location but left very disappointed. It's sad cause this location is very close to my job.

This location went downhill. Gym equipment has been broken from more than a 2 months, There is no hand sanitizer at this location, with a full staff the paper towels are always empty and locks are left on locker for over a year. I can't see how Planet fitness can justify increasing their membership price.

Modern Gym, Cleanliness issue

The gym boasts modern machines and a welcoming community, which is fantastic. However, let's talk water – it's a bit of a letdown. There are no free water bottles, and the water fountain situation is downright gross. The mouthpieces are caked with filth, and folks keep treating them like a gum disposal. Seriously, let's cut that out . Plus, cleaning the fountains once a day just isn't cutting it with hundreds of people using them daily. It's not just about aesthetics; it's about hygiene. And to the guys leaving toilet paper everywhere in the bathroom – come on, let's clean up after ourselves. Nobody wants to deal with a mess when nature calls. One last thing make sure you check your machine before sitting down I should’ve known better the 5th time but honestly felt so embarrassing I’ve sat down in multiple machines drenching with sweat we all been there after a gym jock forgets to clean up.
Overall great gym they need to hire more janitors to clean up hundreds of people come here daily

i'm really tempted to give this place a 4 or maybe even a 5 but, lately, it's going downhill. the thing that always bugged me, a small thing, is that the rod to adjust the seat in the thigh machine is stuck and you have to get up to adjust it by pulling hard with both hands. like, do they not check their machines regularly? all it needs is some WD-40. small thing, i know, but it makes you wonder about their maintenance schedule. but then, this morning there was a young woman with a bluetooth speaker blaring her rap/trap music. probably because she couldn't hear through her headphones over the loud swedish mafia that was playing on the gym's Bose speakers. yeah, i know, please let staff know. yeah, right, imagine telling a kid to lower the music. that'll go over really well. then, in the shower, there was this guy who had been showering for an hour. he was there when i arrived and was still there when i left. he's been showering there for the past month or so, and every time he is showering for at least an hour and emptying out the dispenser. it wouldn't be so bad if at least the other showers worked. there are four of them. about two months ago, they started not having hot water. over time, it's gotten to the point that two of the showers don't work at all because the handles are busted, which leaves you with just the handicapped shower but someone jammed the shower head into the holder so that you can't hold it in your hand anymore. that leaves the fourth shower, but as i've said, that guy is showering in it. it's been at least a week or two that those two showers are busted. other than that, i still like the gym. it's really big, plenty of machines, clean and most of the people, besides miss bluetooth, seem to know how to behave in a gym. this place was definitely a five when i first started going last year but now, not so much. and each time i dread that i going to show up and find out that i will not be able to take a shower at all.
