Great staff, great price, and good variety of equipment but the gym has been trying hard to fix the women’s bathroom for months and the situation keeps but getting worse. At this point there is only 1 stall working and dirty water comes out of the floor whenever the toilet is flushed. It is disgusting and extremely unsanitary because if someone steps on the dirty water… hard to avoid because it’s everywhere near the stalls…they will drag all the bacteria out into the gym onto the equipment, yoga mats, etc…It is just a nightmare! 🤢 Please planet fitness you need to act fast on this one. The bathroom. The women’s room. Whatever band aide corporate has slapped on it is evident.
Y’all need to fix that plumbing, whatever is wrong with it. It stinks in the drains, and the flies are OUTRAGEOUS. I should not feel dirty IN the shower. I’m to the point where I don’t even think I can use it anymore as they are just covering the walls and floors. The employees clean the bathroom, please don’t get me wrong. But if they are coming out of those drains there is nothing they can do.

Our beloved Planet Fitness is turning to dust right before our eyes! The responses to the recent reviews, where a vast majority are one or two stars, are pathetic, since members have been told by management that they have zero control over the various issues at our PF. The plumbing doesn't work. The building doesn't hold heat in the winter or cool air in the summer. Equipment hasn't been updated since our club relocated prior to covid, with only a couple new machines added within the last five years, that temporarily may have appeased some members. It seems that ownership has given up and members are leaving in droves simply because there are better/affordable choices in our area. My family was able to visit a Planet Fitness in Plattsburgh, New York recently while on vacation. We found the equipment to be vastly updated with a greater variety of choices in comparison to our sad Ithaca club. So difficult to see it die such a slow, painful, and yet obvious, death.

Why is the women's bathroom so filthy???. Toilet paper is never stocked. Only 1 out 4 stalls had toilet paper in it... Only one soap dispenser barely had any soap in it. The other empty. Mud and dirt on the floor. The lockers are never cleaned out. It's gross. Do better.

Now women can't even use the restroom at all?? I have not been able to use the gym in months because of the no bathroom situation. You wanted us to use the restaurant bathroom next door and now go outside and use a porta potty? Get real. We deserve better. How about switching up the Mens bathrooms to outside. While the gym itself has always been a good space to work out- spacious with a variety of machines available, it is absolutely unacceptable that the women's bathroom has been out of order for as long as it has. Prior to this, the flushing never worked properly and it just seems like they are not willing to invest the money needed to permanently fix the problem. I was particularly put off today when I noticed a faint but bad smell in the general gym area that appears to be wafting in from the bathroom, likely from the plumbing issues. Corporate should help resolve this issue expeditiously or this franchise should look into moving back into the mall where working bathrooms are available and parking is still plentiful.

This has been a wonderful gym for me. Great price. Convenient location. It’s too bad that the women’s toilets have been out of order for months in the women’s locker room!! How am I supposed to enjoy my workout if I have to go find a bathroom outside of the gym during my workout?! This has to be an OSHA regulation. So unfair to all the women who pay every month for a membership. I have male gym members offering to clear out the men’s locker room if I need to use the bathroom. I also spoke to other members who have left and gone to Crunch Fitness downtown since this has been an ongoing problem which caused her to have an accident at the gym. Generally, I love my PF membership as I travel a lot and need access in various places. The Ithaca location has had a plumbing problem in the ladies locker room for months, (at least since mid May to now August) so using a toilet is an issue. Also, they set the temp in the locker room to frigid to mask the septic smell, so showering is extremely unpleasant. I have been inconvenienced and disappointed in this one.

It’s a planet fitness so the equipment is mostly as expected. When everything is working it has what I need, but the women’s bathroom plumbing has been broken for three weeks and the heat was broken for a similar amount of time over the winter. Great gym for casual workouts. Love that it’s open 24/5 since the Cortland location isn’t. My main complaint is I had to stop coming in during the winter since they don’t turn the heat on in the main area. It probably isn’t a problem when attendance is high since people are gonna warm it up, but at midnight the temperature would drop to like 50 degrees. I could feel my toes going numb from how cold it was.

Look, it's not super fancy nor is it perfectly maintained. But neither is my house, my car, or my life. And I would say this goes for most people who come here.

For the $15/month I pay, I am more than happy with the space, the equipment, and the staff.

I have been going here for a little over a year now and really appreciate what PF has helped me achieve, both physically and mentally.

The hours are good, the staff are chill, and the machines are more than enough for 99% of gym goers.

I love everything about the gym except all the ceiling fans are over the treadmills and there’s nothing over the Elliptical’s where they’re definitely needed. It’s hard to work out as you get so hot you feel like you’re going to pass out. I’m going to have to check out other PF locations as I can’t work out in those conditions. Went Friday evening 5/26/23. Half of the locker doors in the women's locker room are broken off. Was told there are fold down chairs in the showers (guess that's only for men) because all that was in the women's side were two small shower stools. The lack of hooks in the shower stalls made for towel and clean clothes to get wet. Was also a puddle of water in front of the lockers just inside the door.

Had to search many cleaning stations to find spray to clean the equipment I had used. IF there is a next time I'm not going to bother if there isn't spray at the closest station.

It is a pain to cancel the membership.
I’ve got black card membership, and after I left Ithaca they asked me to write a letter for cancellation.

I did wrote the letter and mailed it to the gym, but the letter was returned back to me!

So I had to keep calling them.

After a few calls, they agreed to cancel over the phone, but the staff still tried to charge me with different tries:
1. Try 1: “you signed classic member so you have an expiration date, and you still need to pay for a coupe more months membership fee after cancelation” I said it was black card membership and he said I changed to black. I never did that! He then apologized
2. Try 2: you need to pay annual fee after cancellation. In fact, I already paid it after a few weeks when I started my membership.

In the end, they agreed both were wrong and cancelled.

I recently started my fitness journey last year & chose this Planent Fitness because I work in Lansing & I can just practically hop over to work.... well in the last few months I have decided that it may be time to part ways with this Planent Fitness.

There is constant issues with plumbing leaving you wondering if you're going to get a shower after your workout. Not only are there issues with plumbing but I haven't seen a staff member clean the bathrooms or showers in MONTHS. There is now mold in the corners of the showers, one is completely blocked off due to draining issues, the curtains are COVERED in hard water, other gyms mates leave their empty cosmetic bottles/garbage all over the place & don't even get me started on the amount of hair on the walls & floors 🤢 I'd probably say it's been a good 4 months since I saw a staff member cleaning the locker rooms... current staff rely on members to tell them when hand soap is out... these people need to be trained better on basic cleaning.

I will probably be taking the extra drive to the Cortland Planent Fitness for everytime that I have been there someone is ALWAYS cleaning.

P.S there has been equipment out of order since spring. Seems like management could care less.

The gym is satisfactory, atmosphere and staff seem upbeat and friendly---no complaints there. The reason for 1-star is that today (8/21/22, ~5PM) is the 3rd time the club has been closed during normal operating hours with no posted explanation in the last several months. I have arrived shortly after opening (7AM on the weekends) to find the doors still locked and no staff present despite dozens of would be gym goers patiently waiting in the parking lot (same situation when I returned an hour later---ultimately I did not return that day) and now it is 5PM and the doors are locked with no notice despite closing being posted at 7PM. I called neighboring locations and was told it is known their is staffing issues here at Ithaca. This sounds more like "leadership issues". I have seen a half dozen or more staff present at random times in the afternoon, I'm not sure why they can't schedule staff to properly open/close. I'm sympathetic to what is going on in the world but management needs to come up with a system to notify customers if there is staffing problems. Again, staff have always been friendly and courteous, this is not directed at the employees as individuals, but as the location as a whole as this is not acceptable.

I’ve been to many gyms over the years and many of them have been planet fitness. This is one of the worst ones I’ve been to. The facility is a good size but has a poor layout. Makes for awkward movement around the gym trying to walk past some machines, cables or free weights because they are too close together. The biggest issue is the cleanliness of the place. I’ve been in town and coming here for about three weeks now and I’m pretty sure nobody has vacuumed or mopped once since I started coming here. I have noticed some hair tumbleweeds when working on a machine or stretching. I’m tempted to go to the next closest one to find something better but it’s an hour away.

It was my first time in a gym in nearly 30 years! I was terrified, sat in the parking lot crying for 20 minutes lol. I finally worked up the courage to go in, the employees were so nice and helpful. Everyone there was just doing their thing. No staring or judgement. I had an amazing experience and can't wait to go back! The equipment is really nice and clean. The amenities are so awesome!
