This is your standard Planet fitness. They have all the normal equipment that Planet has. It has not been upgraded with the new pieces yet. Staff was very friendly and gym is super clean. I went a couple of times this week and had a great workout each time. I am a advanced lifter, (Been working out for almost 50 years) and you can always find what you need if you know what you're doing.

This location is horrible! I just got home from a workout cut short. We arrived just after 6am and according to the "Crowd Meter" in the app, it was only at 1 bar so you might imagine it's pretty empty. NOT. AT. ALL. On top of it being crowded at 6am, the place is TINY. They've got too many machines crammed in there for the size of the place and the number of people it attracts. They also don't have the same machines that other locations have. Many of the people who were there were soccer mom/dad wannabe gym bros who stood around staring at their phones or in groups chatting around and blocking machines. It's not a social club, it's a gym... get out of the way. If there's going to be a location in Lakewood it should be moved to a larger building. I've never seen such a small gym in all my life. Never going back there if I can help it.

They have some typical equipment I'd expect to see in most gyms covering everything from calves and glutes to abs and arms. It can be a bit uncomfortable at first as most equipment is right next to each other, and starting your fitness journey you may not feel the best about your body. However as long as you stick to what you're doing most people won't give you a second look. I haven't had much issue with the staff, as I see they keep an eye on people who don't wipe down their stations and ensure cleanliness. It's nice that there's a spa option for your membership, my personal favorite is the warm massage bed that they offer. But if you're simply going for a pure workout and no spa, 15 bucks is decent per month, although they charge you an annual 50 dollar fee every two months after your subscription, the only thing that sucked for me. The spa black card is 25 and if you're into tanning that could save a good chunk of change too.

I think it's fair to say that Lakewood and West Ellicott will not be seeing gym options other than Planet, such as Snap Fitness, Forge, Anytime Fitness, or the Fitness Bunker. Therefore, if things don't work out with this gym we can work out in Jamestown (I'd rather workout at the sewage treatment plant). The days are returning when societal detritus are returning to this gym (as of May 25, 2025). Mike H B., is right: Customers are trying to start fights with other customers, sitting around peacocking themselves like jerks and not working out is their top priority. I think it's time to end my membership again. This is the third time since they opened and for the same reasons. Maybe the mall can get them to close up too so we can go for a swim at Lakewood beach.

Corporate should make it 24-7 again. I mean it is a better gym but if a 24-7 gym opens, I'm going to cancel my membership and go elsewhere. It's just a matter of time

It’s a nice gym for $10 a month. I upgraded to the PF+ since my boyfriend and I have to share vehicles and we figured we could just go at the same time. When I signed up for PF+, it said it wouldn’t reflect the $24.99 until NEXT YEAR (3/2025). But now I was charged $24.99 and I checked the files on my account and of course it says it starts today (5/17). Lame. Anyways another complaint is when I used to go at around 9/10 at night, there was ALWAYS a male worker in the locker room. Which at first it was fine until it was EVERY night and he even walked in without announcing himself.

It’s the worst gym if you’re looking to get proper form or heavy lifts. If you want good form, heavy lifts at a decent price, go to S&C Powerplant and Tanning in Warren. But $24.99 a month for poor equipment and uncomfortable experiences is painful.

Not as cheap as you think! Charged a $50 maintenace fee literally a month after I signed up. When I go to cancel, a week before the next month is due, they still said they had to charge me for the following month. Happy to no longer be a member. Ill support the YMCA instead. Much better equipment.

I love this place to work out. The only thing I really don't like is they wait to fix certain machines there. Such as these two elliptical machines that have been broken for nearly a month there. The tags are still on them and reads they are quick to fix them but that's not necessarily true. Other than that, I love it!

Tyler and Kaity were AMAZING! They were very helpful and considerate during my recent visit to this location. I rate the facility and their service at 5 stars. HOWEVER, because this franchise is located in a mall that is VERY HOSTILE to anyone driving oversize vehicles, i.e. RV's, trucks with trailers, et cetera, I can only go as high as 4 stars in my Google rating.

TRUCKERS (and all oversize vehicle operators): Please be advised that you will be harassed by mall security here. Regardless of your reasons for patronizing the mall and/or gym, mall security is required to chase you away if you are considered to have stayed too long (over an hour). Mall ownership does not want the parking lot to resemble that of a truck stop which, in their view, discourages patrons who drive regular vehicles from spending their time and money here.

This franchise of Planet Fitness is currently advocating for a change in this policy, one that considers truckers and oversize vehicle operators. Nonetheless, until said policy has been changed either by mall ownership or corporate Planet Fitness, I recommend spending your gym time at a different location.

The hydro massage bed is epic. I had back surgery years ago and this is the only thing I have found that works for me , you got to give them a try. This location is also not very crowded and that's a big plus as well !!!! Very clean and professional staff

I would like to talk to someone in charge about the woman manager that works morning. She gave out personally information about my friend now the man she gave it to is thrthreting her. it is very serious. I quite on mon. because of this woman. Me and my friend loved coming thear until this happened I am 64 and my friend is 57. they wear both mock us and laughing. I told her she was not a very good manager and she started laughing really loud and said if I think she is bad the ones before her wear worse..She would not be the first face of my company this needs to be investigated 😡

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. The manager Kathy is very rude and has been harassing and being discriminating to me and my friends for 2 days. She screamed at us for not cleaning a machine she watched us clean and watches us like hawks on the camera yet she won't scream at any other members in there about cleaning a machine or follow them. She has even gone to the extent to check my friends profiles and mine to see which planet fitness was our home gym. She makes other members feel uncomfortable as well when she's up and down telling people to put up their masks all the way up to their eyes every 3 seconds. It makes people uncomfortable and I have seen it with my own eyes after her nagging them every second of their workout they leave because they get frustrated or feel uncomfortable.

Update:
My friends were terminated from the property after falsely being accused of threatening her. I will never recommend this gym to anyone. With a person like that working for you it’s like you don’t want a business.

Kathy for two days was harassing and being discriminating to my friends and I. She has been watching my friends and I on the camera to make sure we clean off the machines and have our masks on. All while she would not do the same to other members in the gym. She followed us to the back screaming that we did not clean a machine after she watched us clean it. She only does this to us there were other members in the gym that were not wearing their masks and not cleaning off the equipment after use and she would say nothing to them.

Something needs to be done about this. She makes us feel uncomfortable to go to the gym and other members as well that we have seen complain about her behavior towards us.

This location maintains the same standards and uniformity that other locations have throughout the country that I've visited. One large difference though, either due to the club owner or the strict New York State rules,  the staff walk around actively look for people that don't have their mask up over their nose. When they see someone, they say something to them or point to their nose. They will actually walk past a series of machines and point to their nose if someone isnt completely covered up to theur eyes. It's an annoyance.  Staff members are on a power trip. 3 stars are strictly due to the staff bothering clients.

This joint is ok if you're not very serious, but they're lacking basic equipment found in every gym: they have dumbbells only up to 75 lbs and EZ bars only to 60, no benches, barbells, preacher, etc. Their lengthly list of picky and selectively enforced rules is also a serious turn off (a siren goes off if you accidentally make too much noise... seriously; you may not have any bag, even a small backpack; conversely, they don't seem to care if anyone wipes down the equipment after use even though there are signs everywhere demanding it). No employee bothers to call your attention to any of these conduct codes when you sign up, but you might get a snippy attempt at condescension over a minor infraction later. I could only handle it for a month and cancelled my membership with a week left, but they immediately deactivated my access pass so I couldn't use the remaining time that I paid for. I happily switched to the Y, where they have better free weights, are more laid back, and I don't have to stuff my pockets with my phone/beverage/gear.

There's nothing personal about the new robotic signup style. I've been a member at other pf's before and this new sign up style makes you feel undervalued. I came in so positive, happy, and ready to workout only to feel frustrated and unimportant. I tried to sign up face 2 face but was forced to download the app. The new app that I was instructed to pay though took 45 minutes start to finish. Additional note: All cardio eyes on you- the treadmills and cardio equipment face the workout equipment. This gym was not a comfortable experience however the employees were happy and positive.

The equipment is nice, but I got the “lunk alarm” set off on me for carrying a gallon water jug (has a handle, looks like a large water bottle if that matters)
I’m a twig. My max bench at my peak was 165. There is no way someone saw me walk in and thought “lunk”. I’m a 130lb guy and love to hydrate, hence the gallon water bottle. Yet they love to alienate their clientele

Edit: a bottle that is under my machine or under my bench does not pose a tripping hazard to others! That is, if your 6 foot distance rule is being enforced as well
