I belong to Planet Fitness in South Jersey so I figured I'd try this location. Granted, it was a Monday around 7pm, but I didnt even go in. The parking lot is shared with Dollar general and a couple other stores and it was completely swamped. People were parked all along the store side curbs to getting in the lot was a nightmare. As I passed by the PF window front, it was so packed I wouldn't even be able to get a workout in. Looked like mostly all young kids and we know how that is, they end up mai ly hanging out and clogging up the equipment. And without going in, I can judge how the locker rooms would have looked. Not my type of crowd so I joined Burn Fitness, great lifting vibe there....no kids haha.
It is 24 hours so if you go later or earlier, might be better, but not for me.

Planet Fitness is HORRIBLE. God forbid you need to cancel your membership. They give you the option to do it online but then they charge you anyway. I’ve been trying to do this for THREE MONTHS. And then you call customer service and they can’t cancel your membership, nor can they issue refunds. A supervisor at the gym also can’t issue refunds. Not to mention, the supervisor is only there 9-5. And I work in those hours. So I’m doing everything I’m supposed to and I’m still getting charged. Absolutely ridiculous. I definitely will never do business with this company ever again.

The showers at this gym are unusable because the employees have cut the curtains so they don't completely block the view. In other words, the curtains have been intentionally altered so they don't reach from side to side, in my opinion thus reducing the number of people using the showers and the need for cleaning. This is evident in the fact that the only curtain that remains intact is the one for people with disabilities. What they didn't consider is that they are promoting sexual harassment among men. But nobody says anything because sexual harassment among men is something we prefer not to talk about. Well thought out, guys.

Smith machine bar path can be better. Deadlift platforms, squat racks, lateral raise machines, and free benches are still missing from this location compared to other Planet Fitness sites in the city. Machine quality is mixed, to say the least—extremely hit or miss. The staff are great, probably the best you’ll find at any Planet Fitness, and the facility is clean with frequent repairs. Many patrons, however, don’t use most of the cardio machines. Wouldn’t it be better to bring in quality equipment and get rid of everything that isn’t being used

Staff ignored when complained about music played by guests loudly enough to be heard and felt across the gym. Being played through speaker on floor, bass travelling through floor and through air. 2025.11.08. 8:30 AM ET. By ignored I mean went to desk to complain, then minute later as a worker cleaned neaby me, I discussed the problem with the music, speaking to the worker, and received not so much as a look in my direction.

I can hear AND FEEL every bass note of the song, through air and floor, and hear every note of the literally screaming vocal line as well. Completely unnecessary and unpleasant.

I would have love to give PF Lawrence 5 stars being that the building is so clean, majority of the equipment worked and i truly had one of my best workouts yet last night at this location. It was my first time at PF Lawrence and even though it’s smaller than PF Jamaica (my usual location) i can assure that the aesthetic and structure of the gym made it worth while as well. My only issue was the leg press machine, which i’m honestly disappointed about. It’s completely out of date and unsafe. the gap of the seat is the biggest issue because you’re not properly seated while doing your reps on this machine especially if you’re a power lifter (me). I didn’t feel comfortable doing more than two 45’s each side, as my butt was being lifted off the ground while doing my reps & my back was slightly hurting. On top of that, as i stated before, the machine is out of date. Double rows for the plates is needed! lol. Overall PF Lawrence is a great gym, just please upgrade the Leg Press. I’ll definitely be coming back. ❤️

The Hydro massage chair is not working and it’s been broken for two months or three months or more than that and it’s not working. It’s not fair in the customer service should look into that it’s not appropriate or other things too. It’s not cool at all. and I’m complaining because of that and I’m a good customer to Planet Fitness and because of that also.

This location is close and convenient for me. I frequently go in the early mornings, so it’s usually very clean. There’s enough equipment, so you don’t have to wait too long for the machines you need (especially for cardio). I just wish there were more mirrors apart from the weightlifting areas.

Clean Clean Clean! Someone is always cleaning. Staff is friendly. If you ask a question you will get an answer, or if they don't have one, they will get one. They seem to be adding more machines. They fix the ones that break on a regular basis, when it happens. The people that work out there are generally friendly and respectful also. Mens locker room is clean also. Never smells unless somebody kills the bathroom with a protien fart or #2. The black card section is limited but things they do have work. They recently replaced the hydro massage machines. Give them a try. Feels great if you have anything tight or sore on your back area.

Buyer beware — this Planet Fitness charges for Black Card perks but doesn’t deliver. I’ve now been denied access to the massage chair twice, both times with the excuse that “the computer is down.” That’s not my problem — I’m paying for this benefit. I visit other Planet Fitness locations regularly and have never had this issue. Today, front desk worker Freddy was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional about it. If you’re thinking about signing up here, think twice — you may be paying for features you’ll never get to use. I regret truly regret joining this gym not what I expected.

Bathroom stays with bugs around and worms in the corner of the showers. Places needs new machines. It's been over 4 months and only two matrix steppers work out of the 6. Well only one since the fifth one is failing already. I've been through many Planet Fitness locations and this location and a second one in Brooklyn trust are low grade gyms. If you drive to another gym just take the extra drive.

Dear Planet Fitness Owners/Managers on Burnside Avenue,

Please, I am begging you, we are begging you, 4 squat racks for Joses, Jimmys, Nicos, Jamals and one very intense Shmuley all trying to beef up is deeply tedious and troublesome and NOT ENOUGH. This neighborhood likes to lift!!! And let’s not forget the ladies trying to get their booty squats in.

Every time I workout, we all ask each other, “how many sets you got left?” Cuz we’re crammed up, lines longer for the free weights and squat racks than for Manhattan’s best nightclubs.

Meanwhile, the giant yellow section of forgotten cable machines sits like a museum exhibit dedicated to sets of 3 reps and 20 min of scrolling.
If you replaced a section that gets the least traffic with more squat racks and a full free weight dumbbell rack, you’d unclog the gym faster than a plunger and really service your target customer.

Please, ease traffic and let us lift in peace before Shmuley power cleans a treadmill.

The Showers ARE ALWAYS COLD!!! They make sure the Hot Water heater is never Working Properly. You can't even get cleaned up after a good sweat . This has been going on FOR YEARS! We already have to bring your own soap. But then you're left waiting for hot water that Never shows up. It's gotta be done on purpose or the person running this location has no concern for patrons. I love coming to this gym; the staff is great, it's always clean, and the equipment is good. However, my main complaint is about the stair masters. Time and again, more than three of them are out of order. I have complained numerous times about the lack of functional stair masters, and I was told that a maintenance person comes by when they can. Today, only two stair master was working, and I have lost my patience. Please get new stair masters for this location as soon as possible. You have too many customers who use them for you to have half out of order; this is absolutely ridiculous and has been an ongoing issue for far too long.

It's at a convenient location and there are plenty of equipment to use, though I wish they could cut back a little on the ellipticals so some of thw weighted machine can be spaced out a little more. My 17 yr old daughter was offered a summer special for students. Without paying anything. She made it clear she can't commit to a membership because she was going to college and they told her "no worries when u go away to college just let us know and we will cancel ". She called end of Aug to cancel they told her she had to go in person to cancel. (They never mentioned that when she started) as she had already mentioned when she signed up . Somehow, who ever recruited her took her banking information *account number *although she's a minor and it's a high school account authorized only by me the adult! Today I called to let the manager Ivan know what happened he said he will have to investigate who did this. His words "this does not make sense bc students get a summer special and my staff should not be taking any financial information on a minor...Anyway she got charged and annual fee although they said no contract month to month basis. He said he will refund annual fee ( which shouldn't be questionable) then he tried to lecture me that he could not return the September payment although my daughter attempted to cancel ON Aug 19. He said that the person with the membership needed to cancel in person before September but obviously she is 5 hours away. I feel like my daughter was taken advantage as a minor. I just called now to get proof of any document showing she gave permission to charge her account that's a high school account, so any Financial agreement has to go through the main account holder (me ,the adult) i was not there to authorize this...that's the main account holder . They breached code of security and made fraudulent and unauthorized charges..so i called to get a copy of what ever gives them the right to steal my daughters account number and money by charging fraudulent and authorized charges.He refused to provide "Freddy" said have a good night and hung up on me. I want any documents stating they were authorized to charge my daughter HS account without a parent present. Isn't that the whole point of summer special? Why would they ask for such personal financial information if no minor had to do that?? No one is being held accountable and I keep getting brushed off. I will have to go in person to request proof and receipts and file a complaint for not being accountable for this BIG mistake
