I’ve tried various amounts of planet fitness gym’s in buffalo and this is by far the most outdated one. I would hope that one day you will upgrade like all the other gyms have. More equipment, a new weight room, the new machines for glutes, back, free weight bars. I love this gym but it saddens me that you have to drive very far out of lockport to go to other gyms to be able to use the new machines. Please get hip thrust machine, the new black card fully body machine, hack squat machine, etc. Overall a good gym, would be 100x better if it was upgraded! Thanks

Fine..clean whatever. But Everytime I try to use the 30 minute express workout there are a lot of people using it incorrectly. It's frustrating to have to constantly skip and wait while doing the circuit because people are using it as the other equipment.

I use this and a PA location weekly. This locations' treadmills are not as adjustable which is frustrating. If you're doing interval training you can't easily go from one speed to another. You have to hit the up or down a hundred times. As a positive, they have a great area to lay out a mat and workout without being in the way.

"Negative Experience with Planet Fitness - Unnecessary Service Call"

"We were called by Rita, the manager of this Planet Fitness, for emergency service on their entrance door. The door was inoperable, and she urgently needed someone. We dispatched a service truck and technician immediately.

Upon arrival, Rita informed us that she only needed an estimate, despite having initially requested service. While we typically don't charge for estimates, this situation required us to send out a service team, incurring costs.

Rita was refunded the $130 service fee after explaining to the owner that she was "only an employee" and "afraid to give the bill to the owner."

This experience highlights a lack of professionalism and communication. Future businesses interacting with this Planet Fitness location should exercise caution."

Gym is clean. Staff is friendly. It would be nice to have a few more weight machines and heavier dumbbells. Also if someone is using the leg press machine and they are strong you have to take 45 lb plates from
The smith machines. It would be great if there were 12 - 45lb plates designated for the leg press. Another chest fly machine would be good. I’m always waiting to use that machine. It’s the most popular one there.

The laziest workers ever. For any issue or question I’ve ever had not one person made it easier. I asked to transfer to the Lockport location from Niagara Falls, “oh it’s pointless doesn’t matter anyways”. I go in person to cancel “oh you have to go to Niagara Falls to cancel or have them transfer you here.” Luckily the Niagara Falls store has workers better equipped with information who informed me both things could be done online.

I typically go here in early afternoon and at that time its empty enough that you could use any machine, cable, or cardio machine you want. If you went at 5pm, I could see issues, but that's all gyms. Variety of equipment is nice compared to other gyms i've went to, many different ab machines, tricep machines, bicep curl machines, etc etc. 1 star is removed because planet fitness has negative gym culture and discourages being big. The dumbells and bars also only go to 60LBS, no free weight barbells, so i'll also have to go to another gym within a year.

EDIT:If your serious about weight lifting, this gym is NOT it. Ultimate physique on rodgers ave has far better equipment, heavier free weights, and barbells. No downside to the switch whatsoever.

I have been using the Lockport location for a year now and it has been an awesome experience. The staff is extremely helpful and the facility is always clean. Gym was nice enough, but the summer pass for teenagers literally didn’t work there. I’m 19 and in New York for the summer and wanted to use the teen summer pass that allows you to use the gym for free. Everytime I entered the gym I was stopped at the front and they asked me the same questions….every….time. I came up as a prospect in their system and when they said they would leave a note to fix it…that never happened. I turned 20 mid-June but I was told I could still use the summer pass as long as I was 19 before the summer started. My first time coming into the gym after I turned 20 I was told I couldn’t use it anymore and they wanted me to sign up for a subscription that was going to cost more than 60 dollars for a month and a half of gym use. Manager was extremely rude to me after being the one that originally welcomed me into the gym and telling me stuff that literally wasn’t true. Really disappointed in a gym that’s supposed to be inclusive and welcoming. I understand I cant use a gym free forever, but don’t tell me lies just to have an easier conversation with me, only to retract that statement later.

I grew up in Lockport and moved to other states when I was 18 - years before this location opened. Moving back near my hometown, having a Planet Fitness there and it being the closest one to me has been beyond convenient. It gives me a reason to visit the parts of the city & town that I miss - and all the workers are incredibly sweet (and I'm so very sorry I almost knocked the maintenance guy off his ladder with my gym bag. The professionalism of not laughing in my face was much appreciated 🙈).

Traveling from California and worked out at this planet Fitness on a Monday about 6:30 p.m. . Was not busy at all, no machines were broken, the place was very clean. Good airflow, no smells, no dirtiness whatsoever.
Staff member Emma at the front counter was totally awesome and polite, another guy was working and cleaning the male bathroom spotless, don't know his name but he was nice also when I spoke with him.
This is a very small planet Fitness compared to others, not sure of the population size that uses it, it might be the appropriate size, for us it worked perfectly. Didn't have to wait for any machines, tanned, use the massage, if we lived in the area this would be our permanent gym. Keep up the good work

I originally got a membership over a year ago and just wasn’t a fan of this gym after my first visit, no big deal I now go to another one with classes and personal trainers. I’ve tried canceling my membership here many times and I’m not sure if I was lied to or what so I’ve just been doing charge backs with my bank because I can’t for the life of me get this membership cancelled. My boyfriend called for me last night because I was at work but noticed another charge, this time $10 more than my original contract, to see what I need to do because at this point I’m on verge of bringing legal action. The “assistant manager Caitlyn” did everything but cuss him out, even so much as calling him and I liars. I’d pay biggggggg money to see this location on Undercover Boss just to see if they keep the same energy with every customer.

I went in recently to get some information about the place and plans. Though naturally leery about the pandemic and fitness clubs in general, I was delighted to see the plethora and variety of equipment, applied priority to cleanliness measures, structural hygiene, and upkeep throughout the building, with sanitizer spray bottles and paper towel dispensers fully stocked, including clean locker room, bathroom, and showers which is very important.
I was helped by Leslie who gave a thorough product knowledge summary of the services, plan features, and policy in the most polite, professional, personable, genuine, and pleasant demeanor, a true credit to the company. Due largely in part to that, I subscribed to a Black Card membership. The other staff are nice, too. This is the first gym I've been member to other than boxing in the past, and it surpasses my expectations. Every time I've been there has been great, and I foresee it to remain so for years ahead.

The gym is clean and the staff is polite and attentive. It's not as large as some of the other planet fitness locations but when I went (around noon to 2 pm on a weekday) did not seem busy. This made it possible to overlook my initial misgivings about there not being multiple duplicate stations/benches. My only qualm is that the free weights were still being used frequently. I didn't do as many sets because the weight I wanted was constantly in use. Assuming it's even busier after 5pm, this would completely throw me off rhythm. If you are mainly focused on cardio, you'll never encounter this problem. I gave this place 4 stars due to the previous dilemma and that it's not open 24/7, which nocturnal hours are a way to avoid overcrowding. Instead I drive out of town to another location, which I don't mind but adding an hour to the commute alone means I'm setting aside a large window just for the gym and not really a spontaneous possibility at 1 am.

I would say the positive is that they always seemed to have 383,879 machines for cardio ready and available. Weights and machines? Not really. Often staff were on their phones or sounded miserable. And then there were the tootsie rolls lol. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore when I walked over to a machine and saw an empty tootsie roll and a regular tootsie roll wrapped right by the machine. Had enough, cancelled my membership, and went elsewhere

I have been a black card member since Dec 2016. Today was the first time I felt that maybe it is time to switch to another fitness club. The workers used to greet you when you came in and acknowledged when you were leaving. Now they just want to close up and leave. They don't say anything any more. I work 10-11 hour days and cannot get to the gym until 9pm. At 9:45 I asked to use the massage chair for 5 minutes and was denied because they were already shut down. They close at 10. Stores and fast food joints honor their customers up to closing time. I always wipe down what I use unlike many members there and get away with it. Seems like this club is getting to be a friends only members. Time to change.

Signed up on a $5 promotion and paid with my credit card. Was told my card would not be kept on file and that I needed to bring my banking info to set up the monthly charge. I changed my mind about joining and my card that I paid the initial sign up fee was used to debit my monthly fee. I am not happy that I was lied to and that they took it upon themselves to set up the auto debit without my permission. Would give them no stars but it won’t let me. Beware of their shady practices. Will be reporting the staff to their corporate offices.
