The overhead music is always too loud. Some people dont want blasting music while working out. But the staff here doesn't realize the overhead music becomes the minimum volume everyone must listen at. The staff doesn't realize 9 out of 10 people have headphones on and thus loud overhead music is only bothering people that obviously want a lesser level of sound.

Also they lessened the amount of elliptical opting for more step climbers. Elliptical machines are always crowded now.

Given incorrect info by the girl at the front desk when I went in and when I called I was told I was already charged when I wasn't suppose to be. Reached out to Planet Fitness and was told that was incorrect and someone would reach out from the New Hartford location. Never heard anything back. Just canceled my membership with 2 staff that said yeah she probably doesn't even work here anymore.

My favorite in the area as far as the space and lighting. However i am dissapointed about the lack of upkeep. If a machines is not working it stays that way for several months it seems, no sign on it. Not sure if staff know about it one of the arc trainors. Also the staff are not helpful in the am. They dont seem to know the answer to questions, i domt feel comfortable for asking for help with use of machine and how it works or its malfunction. The arc trainors sometimes do not increase in level the staff were suppose to follow up with me with a solution on how to use it roperly if it was me or if it was the machine, maybe i wasnt using it correctly. I waist time on that machine before work trying to figure it out with no help. Also, all of the squat machines are missing the neck support grips that velcro onto the bar. Its uncomfortable using the bar without that little neck support grip. I seen other baught thier own, but all the money we are paying why buy our own? I hope these reviews help, beacuse its a great gym and can get my 5 star just a few glitches. Also i wish they opened earlier on the weekends at 5 or 6 am.

This gym is well tended. I pretty much always see members of the staff cleaning the machines and floors (I go pretty much daily), and any equipment that goes out of commission is soon repaired and back up to specs, unlike other gyms that I've belonged to, where broken equipment would sometimes linger for months. The place also smells clean. I know some people want their gym to smell like a locker room, but not this guy, so I appreciate all the efforts made here to keep the place tidy and working. And the staff here is very friendly, as I find it a real motive to come often, if not daily. I know PF in general has a reputation of being a place for people who aren't serious about the gym, but this is the second PF location I've belonged to, and I am very happy to have this spot close to my home. ANY gym you belong to is going to have fellow members who don't know how to use equipment properly, or people who prefer to use equipment as a lounge chair so they can scroll their phones. Having a clean place with lots of working equipment and a very friendly staff is a highlight to me.

I was on a cross country road trip when I found myself in Utica, NY for a month or more. I decided to join Planet Fitness here & was able to use the black card throughout the duration of my road trip. The New Hartford location was clean, equipment was in excellent condition, & staff were friendly. Mario signed me up & was very helpful during my time there. I think that this planet fitness in particular is very caring about their guests. I am very sad to have heard that Mario has left the location and moved to Texas. I know he will do very well there. I am very pleased to hear Antoine has made manager he deserves it! I would also like to mention Bryce Who is also extremely helpful whenever myself or my daughter are in the gym he definitely makes the gym experience much more pleasurable when he is working, knowing that I can go and ask him anything and it would be taken care of immediately. Do not fall for these scammers saying you have no commitment. I signed up because it said no commitment and the location ended up being inconvenient for me. I wanted to switch clubs but they would let me before 90 days. Then I canceled my membership and they proceeded to charge me $50 anyways. So much for no commitments. All I wanted to do was switch clubs. Now after that I will be taking my business elsewhere that’s for sure.

The person at the front desk was super helpful and explained to me how to transfer. He even called my former Planet Fitness because I had lost my key tag. Great place the weight system for arm stations is wonderful adjustable for each arm goes by 10lbs with a 5lbs held up top with a easy pull release pin so yo can do 45lbs on one arm and 50lbs on the other vs utica it's goes by 15lbs with a weird 0 5lb 10lb turn pin and it one set weight lift so you can only do either 40lbs or 55lbs or 70lbs without turning the pin I feel like I get a better workout at New Hartford

In the last quarter of 2022, I became a member of Fitness Planet as a black club member. However, I later decided to switch to a classic membership and visited the gym to make the change. Although they confirmed the change, I noticed that the fees for the black card membership were deducted from my account for the following two months.

I contacted Planet Fitness in February to address this issue and was assured that the money would be refunded. Unfortunately, the refund was never made. Additionally, when I switched to the classic membership, I paid an annual fee. Despite this, the Planet Fitness app on my phone still indicates that money will be withdrawn on April 1st.

My experience with Planet Fitness has been unsatisfactory as they have not met my needs or demonstrated professionalism.

I left a pair of lifting hooks there by mistake, called and was confirmed that they were turned in and in Lost and found. Just called again - 4 days later, and was told they "cleaned out" (translate as someone wanted them) the lost and found and now my lifting hooks are no longer there. The lesson? Don't trust that anything left there and turned into lost and found will actually ever be recovered.
