The gym is filled with toxic air freshener devices that spray a horrible scent. These devices are all around the perimeter of the gym. I was literally getting mouthfuls and lungfuls of this crap making me sick. They are an allergen, irritant and completely toxic. A gym is supposed to be a safe place where you can physically exert yourself and breathe deeply. Well, in this case they’re making you sick. Especially if you have allergies or asthma in which case it can be dangerous or lethal. It smells like a bad gas station bathroom with this stinky crap. I will never go back again and I advise others to think twice instead of exposing themselves. You should complain to the management if you care about your health.

I'm a black card member. I like the flexibility going to any planet fitness. I like coming to this location because the staff is nice and they do their best to maintain a clean locker room and gym floor. I've noticed that in every planet fitness I go to, some members do not re-rack their weights. And they also leave their paper towels and other items on the machines and gym floor. I want to comment on that the members who go to any location should clean up after themselves. If you have enough discipline to go to the gym, you should be able to clean up after yourselves. I've been a member at other gyms. Planet Fitness is worth it. I'm glad to be a member here.

This is most awesome gym in NYC, maybe the best gym in the world, especially if you consider the following as a big plus.
● Phone Zombies: people texting, watching videos, surfing the internet or phone calls while seated at equipment, holding up everyone waiting to use that station.
How considerate to all the other members.
● People sweating up equipment that they use and not wiping down.
How considerate to all the other members.
● Having your locker broken into at least once a year, due to no security cameras in locker room.
Planet Fitness rocks.

And please, no stock reply "reach out to management, etc ".
The staff and manager can see what going on at gym hourly or daily. Let them do something proactively.

This gym is the WORSE! IT'S ALWAYS DIRTY! OMG, the women's bathroom is a complete mess, dirty toilets, no toilet paper, the sink was so dirty with hair all over the place, no soap and there was a sink Clogged!. lockers are filthy, the floor is so dirty, nobody sweeps. The machines look like nobody wipes it down. I DONT UNDERSTAND, when I went to another planet fitness on Broadway downtown, it was so clean there, very nice. Does any maintenance worker even work there at the 14th St. site? when I spoke to the staff, and I express my concerns, they just looked at me and said, sorry. The next day I went and the bathroom was still very dirty like the day before. The gym floor was horrible dirty. I'M DONE, I am going to the planet fitness on 25 Broadway even though it is a longer commute for me. The District Manager needs to really take a look at the Planet Fitness on 22 E.14th St. I am so disappointed, it is not worth the money. After my membership expires I am going to pay the extra money and just sign up with CRUNCH FITNESS. It is not worth getting a disease or STD in that gym.

Planet Fitness in general is a scam. I don't even live in the state anymore AND I'm having health issues that make travel very difficult for me. They said they won't cancel it unless I fly back to NYC and cancel it in person, at the exact location I signed up with. This is unacceptable. Spending hundreds of dollars on a flight ticket and then an extra couple hundred for lodging just to cancel a membership? Unbelievable. And, on the phone, the manager is always conveniently "not in right now" to help me further. Instead, I have to call back and am told the same thing - "It's company policy." Don't leave the city unless you want to be charged for this membership for the rest of your life. Good thing my bank agreed to stop payment. I have a lawyer on hand, too, in case they try to cheat me again. They are NOT ADA friendly.

This place was recently renovated with new machines. Whoever decided the layout has no idea what they are doing. The areas with free weights and for stretching are stupidly crowded. Other areas with big machines that don’t need as much space are just poorly laid out. Also in general the place is very crowded because PF shut down another midtown location to save money. Bad.

I really like this location. I travel a lot, so I have the black card, which let's you use the hydromassage bed and massage chairs as well as tanning and red light therapy. Otherwise you can get a basic membership which is just to work out, but only at 1 chosen location.

The Planet Fitness facility in Union Square is just as good as the one here in Forest Hills, but there’s one key difference.
The treadmills in Union Square have a cool down/pause option to slow down while you’re finishing your cardio whereas the treadmills in Forest Hills only have the stop option for when you’re done.
I wonder if all the other Planet Fitness facilities have treadmills with the start/stop/pause options and not just the start/stop options.
If not, then they should, because that’s really helpful.

Great gym for the price. Really nice and helpful staff at checkin, and they keep the equipment and the premises extremely clean.. Diverse and generally courteous customers. I've been going since 2021. I don't miss the higher priced New York Sports Club.

UNFORTUNATELY, THOUGH upper management does not take care of the wonderful employees at this club! It's been very cold lately in NYC, and there's not sufficient heat at the check-in desk. The employees are FREEZING! I asked about this, and they pointed to a small space heater, the only source of heat at the street-floor level, which was clearly not sufficient (I was cold up there, and I was just passing through the area to the well-heated premises downstairs). I was also told, in response to my further questions, that employees weren't allowed to wear coats or even hats.
PLANET FITNESS - YOUR EMPLOYEES SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PUT UP WITH SUCH CONDITIONS! SHAME ON YOU!

I normally work out at another location but, because of the complexity of my schedule, I upgraded to black card to exercise at the different gyms in the city, but..It was not worth it. Visited 34th locations and it was scary, finding an unbroken locker it's a challenge beside the unfriendly staff. Visited this location, 14th street and, it's the worst location I ever visited. The locker room seems a homeless concentration camp, they go there to take a shower. The putrefy smells in the locker room is unbearable. I've seen some homeless completely high and wasted due the heroine. it's bad. Last time I was here, I saw this guy in trance, he was standing there unbalance due the drug. I wanted to report it but seeing one of employer in the locker room and do nothing, I let it pass. This gym turned into a shelter. I went back to my home gym and asked to cancel my membership but they told me that I will be charged for a penalty, so, I decided to keep it until January which is the month I can cancel without any cancellation fee. It's a shame to see how bad things get in some establishment, but the saddest part is seeing employees who don't seem to care what's going on around them in their own workplace.

Actual facilities are fine. However they do a very poor job handling the desk. I had to go in person TWICE just to downgrade my from a black card membership because I was still getting charged the full amount; which meant I had to pay a cancellation fee twice as I eventually cancelled completely in August. I’ve been to 100s of planet fitnesses across the country while traveling and this location is by FAR the worst. Planet Fitnesses tend to be spacious, inspiring spaces full of exercise machines and people using them ... this one stands out by being crammed into a basement below Union Square. It's too small, so the machines I wanted to use were often taken, and the air was damp and sweaty. One nice thing: a couple of homeless guys were using the bathroom, their belongings piled up behind them - but they were polite and respectful, using the sinks to wash up. I was glad they had somewhere to go to do this.

You just can’t get on a machine, specifically the benches. There’s no sense of time and you have people that do about 5-8 exercises and squatting literally and figuratively. Then there are 10 kids all of a sudden overtaking a machine. It’s almost like a high school mixed in with a fraternity. Obviously if you can go early then go early. Seriously don't come to this place to work out, go to any other planet fitness, I most other places have nice staff and members.

Here you'll probably end up running into an adult man that behaves like a petulant child like I did. The staff won't help you if someone hovers and bothers you repeatedly. The one I talked to sided with the man who went to them 1st and said they would talk to the man but they in fact did not and just went back to their desk.

Good Gym. Very average. Great friendly staff.
Machines do seem to break here very often. But this is a very popular location.
Has tanning beds, but no beauty/hybrid bed.
The massage bed used hot water instead of cold water. It got so hot I had to get off of it before my ten minutes was up.
But the staff are super friendly and make up for any issues from the equipment.
Also the clients here seem very well balanced. No crazy people so far. Lol.

$25/month for gym? Great price. Obviously you won’t get the high end quality like LifeTime, but for just a workout, love it.

Personally, I wouldn’t use their lockers/showers. People do steal. Just best to work out then go home for shower.

I really like that I found equipment I didn't see in the planet fitness near me and that all the machine had a tv ,I watched the news as I worked out and the little fan button on the equipment provided just enough air so I don't become overwhelmed yet have a good work out , the massage chairs removed all the tension in my back ,it felt great , it was a great experience.

Would recommend. The gym is kept quite clean and the equipment is in pretty good
condition. It does get relatively crowded, as is expected in the city, but at least it is not overly congested. The location is really convenient for NYU students or if you’re by Union Square.

Today is Labor Day

Neither on Google Maps, nor on their call hotline did PF mention that they would be closing at 1pm today. This is totally unprofessional. Not even a mass email was sent out.

I made a 30 minute walk for nothing.
Thanks Planet Fitness, for wasting my time by not posting the times you would open and close today.
