I hate to be that person, but there is literally no other way to contact anyone with decision-making power at Planet Fitness besides the poor managers that have zero control.

For almost a year, multiple bulbs in the red light therapy bed have been out. And I mean out out. Like, the kind of out where half your session feels like it’s just you lying in a mildly warm tanning coffin wondering if you’re getting any benefits or just meditating in a $25-a-month pod.

I’ve mentioned it to staff more times than I’ve stretched after a workout (which is saying a lot). They’re always polite and understanding, but it’s clear their hands are tied. I even went full detective trying to find a corporate contact — all I found was a “partner with PF” email. I emailed it anyway (desperate times), but shocker: no response. My email is now presumably sitting next to that one sock the dryer eats.

And just so you know this isn’t an isolated glitch in the Matrix — the Penfield location has the same exact issue. So unless red light therapy is now supposed to be half-lit mood lighting for ambiance (??), it’s clear someone at the top needs to step in and replace the bulbs.

Come on, PF. You’re a multi-million dollar company. You can definitely spring for a few replacement bulbs. Your members are literally paying for access to services that aren’t fully functional.

Two stars instead of one — because the employees at my home location are truly awesome, and this isn’t on them. But I’d love to see them actually empowered to get things fixed.

Very disappointed with the air conditioning situation. The AC either doesn’t work or is barely functional, and it’s getting uncomfortably hot inside. It’s hard to work out in this kind of heat — this needs to be addressed urgently! Else it’s a great gym!

Reply: I talked to the person working here and she said we are waiting for weeks from corporate to fix AC. Please don’t say it’s me who is suffering, everyone here are complaining!

Very, very disappointed in the new weight machines. I also am very disappointed that they took away the 30 minute express area and decreased the amount of weight machines that they have. There is no rhyme or reason to how the machines have been placed. The lack of AC for the majority of the summer has been pretty unbearable as well.

Whoever was in charge of the new rearrangement of equipment obviously didn't really have the members in mind. Not only is it set up like a maze, but once you finally find the machine you want to use, the ones that are identical to it are on the entire other side of the gym. Shouldn't similar equipment be next to each other? That alone doesn't make any sense to me. To make things worse, the placement is so awkward. On half the machines, you're awkwardly facing other people who are working out on other machines just feet away. I don't want to stare at somebody else as I (and they) are trying to work out. The worst part of all, the new handlebars they've installed on the Smith machines are super rough and not smooth, so when you're benching, you have this stabbing, sharp pain pushing into your hands like sandpaper. I left the gym and hour ago and my hands are still sore. I brought this up to the front desk and he didn't have any solution or advice, just said he didn't know. Nothing he can do about it, but I asked him kindly to bring it up to management because nobody wants to go to the gym and have a painful or confusing experience. I'm really bummed with these changes... I overheard others complaining as well. I don't want to just be a complainer just because there are changes, but I wouldn't be if they didn't make for a bad experience. The new machines themselves are decent (though also not necessary), but the placement is just nonsensical and those bars are extremely painful for lifting. This reminds me of when they got new treadmills and to increase the speed you have to press the button each .1 of speed you want to increase, whereas you used to be able to just hold it down so it would increase quicker. Why make things harder? I don't get it.

Easily one of the worst in the area. The men’s room is entirely smelly as if someone took a fat dump and left it.

Theirs water leaking everywhere over the floor. They don’t have the filtering water stuff.

AC is nonexistent. If you like sweating this is the place. Other locations such as Webster doesn’t have this issue, guess this is why it’s a different owner

Literally the best gym in the area for the best price. The staff is always so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. The head manager is always on top of keeping everything clean and does an incredible job running her team and maintaining a positive environment for all. I’m surprised they haven’t made her a regional manager with how well she handles everything especially with how large this planet fitness is compared to others in the area that are disgusting

Can't complain...of course, I'm comparing it to LA fitness sooo...but yes I've been going 2 weeks now & no fights, no obnoxiously loud music controlled by the cleaning crew, clean locker rooms, no one leaving their weight wherever they feel ( although I'm sure it does happen ) I could go on but I'll stop before I get worked up, but so far it's been very pleasant.

Planet Fitness is amazing. You can navigate anywhere around the facility easily. The equipment is always in good working order, easy to use and effective. No one bothers you and there are always full bottles of disinfectant and paper towels stocked full every few feet so accessing them after each use of equipment is super easy. There is a huge variety and number of each exercise machine. There are tons of TV's with a large variety of stations on at all times which helps distract you from getting tired as you do reps.
The black card is worth every cent as it enables you to use the hydra bed muscle relaxer and the massage chairs after an intense work out which makes you feel amazing and is a reward at the end for me. As a Black Cardmember there also many other special pieces of equipment you get to use. They all are amazing. The showers are nice and plentiful and the locker rooms are clean, spacious, and always inviting. Planet Fitness is so wonderful you look forward to going as often as you can. Your body feels so much better when you take some time to exercise. There are exercise. It was I think 2 weeks ago that I went there as a guest with my friend. It was Saturday so the gym would close sooner but I did not know that, and my friend forgot that they close sooner on Saturday. It was almost 30 minutes before they wanted to close, that I heard really loud siren sound which was really stressful. I could not continue my exercise so I grabbed my stuff and waiting for my friend to wear his clothes to leave the gym ( we still had around 20 minutes before the ending of the hour). They made that siren sound again!!! really!!! It was supper stressful, and that night I had really hard time to calm down after I went home. 2 times after that my friend asked me to go with him to the gym so it may help me to forget those feelings, but I could not exercise well at all , and now after 2 weeks, I am still dealing with that moment.
Gym is the place to feel better not worse guys!!!
Now I am one hundred percent sure I will never get back to that place, and Planet fitness is not a place for having good feeling!

I have serious concerns regarding the business practices of this company. After consistently paying $10 for over four years, I was unexpectedly charged $30 without any prior notice. Despite my requests for a refund, they have denied my claim. Additionally, when I attempted to cancel my membership, I was informed that I must speak to the manager in person, who may not be available when I visit. This lack of transparency and customer service is quite troubling. I will be filing a report with the NYS Attorney General.

Helpful staff, friendly people working out. Only complaint - there is only one each of the 4 abs machines. Too often, one person is on a machine for an hour - mostly just on their phone, not actually using the machine. Gets frustrating. Yes, I go to other machines and keep checking for availability. Often, when that person gets off, someone jumps on before I can get back over there. I've asked employees to ask the owners about getting a second of those machines. They have the space.

It is also impressively one of the cleanest Planet Fitness gyms I have experienced which is no easy accomplishment given the size of the place. The other review is complete garbage. I've had memberships at Bally's, RAC, Midtown and the JCC over the last Ten years and this club is the best (and by far cheapest) experience I've ever had at the gym. The staff is extremely courteous, there is always someone cleaning and the hours are fantastic for someone with kids who needs to get to the gym before 6pm or after 9:00 pm. Only issue is the showers, these need to be cleaned regularly, and they aren't.

Henrietta NY location planet fitness a great place to work out. The front desk customer service is always friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have or just to say hello. The machines are upgraded, fully functioning and they are clean. The bathrooms are always stocked and they are clean. Also if you like to go tanning there beds/ stand ups are the beds to go tanning in because they really keep up on replacing there bulbs, that means your tan will be spot on. I have been to most all of the local planet fitness and Henrietta NY is the best.

Planet fitness is a great value for the price I pay. The facility is open 24 hours on most days. This location allows me to get in a couple of hours of cardio in while simultaneously allowing me to work on resistance training past 7 o'clock pm M-F.

Half of what was the already small space for abs is now taken up by MORE free weights and benches. The entire front wall is free weights already, now I have to get cosy with my next door neighbor doing sit ups.

Cardio more your speed? Now with the new and improved treadmills you have to press the button every. Damn. Time. You want an increase in anything. No you cannot simply hold the button down. Going from 3.0 to 5.0 mph? Get ready to jam the button 20 times rapidly.

Maybe I’m being picky or stupid with the treadmills, but it’s been a huge put off.

Please post when your gym is out if service. Im sitting with 20 people that showed up to use the facilities but there is construction work being done. Would have been nice to inform your paying customers so they don't waste their time and fuel showing up to a gym that's not open. And more people keep showing up as I type. It takes 2 minutes to set these hours, it's not complicated. Poor management.

There is only one stair-masters that’s working .It’s hard to be on as so many people wait for it. This is the first Planet Fitness I came across that only had one stair-masters in the gym, the ones I’ve been to had at least four that worked.

A good priced solid gym overall that is big an has everything you need with a good layout and double section showers. Its missing a few things I would personally prefer such as barbells, chalk stands, and dumbbells' higher than 75 pounds, but what is available is plenty to be able to be well active and healthy.
