I’ve been a member here for a while, and I have to say Dante on the overnight shift really stands out. Every time I come in late at night or early in the morning, the gym is spotless. He’s always moving, cleaning, wiping things down, and making sure the place looks better than when he started. You can tell he actually cares about the gym and the members, because the difference is noticeable compared to other shifts.

It’s not easy working overnights, but Dante handles it like a pro. The gym honestly looks its best after he’s been on. He deserves a lot of credit for the hard work he puts in, he honestly needs a raise

I love ❤️ this location in the morning's about 10 -11 am I come the staff is wonderful politeness knowing my routine starts with the hydro bed then the massage chair they greet me by my last name as soon as I come in I'm asked if I want to get on the hydro bed massage chair i truly love the customer service but thats during the day time for the past 2 nights I went in the early morning about 1 I came inside looking for staff and there wasn't any staff at all I was wanting to use the hydro bed massage chair like I do but there wasn't anyone there that seemed unusual so for about 2 hours I go back to the counter there wasn't any staff there still I'm like this isn't professionalism for a gym to be open without supervision all night there wasn't anyone at the counter to assist me or help me i saw a young man that looked like he worked there wearing the planet fitness shirt but he looked like he ain't care about working at all he stayed in the break room anyone could've just come into the gym and workout any time the front desk was completely unsupervised for the entire overnight I was at such a disappointment anyone could've taken drinks no one of staff was cleaning checking in members not even greeting members such a disappointment for me to return to this gym and not be able too use the spa services every other gym i go to use my black card membership has had overnight staff present like guilderland Latham very nice good staff taken care of the gym cleaning being present at night talk to them but here Rotterdam where was the overnight staff for hours no counter service assistance just scan in and no one something needs to be done about this your over night staff was no where to be found i was with such a disappointment here i couldn't get to use the hydro bed then the massage chair here do to know staff present at all for 2 nights very terrible

There is a young man that works here named Donte. He is phenomenal. I see this young man cleaning everything all the time. He is never not working. I love his work ethic. He's polite, courteous, his customer service skills are phenomenal.. They definitely need to give this young man a raise. I see him cleaning things that a man typically wouldn't think to clean.. I don't know if that was the training that they gave everybody because I don't see anybody else do it. Or if that was just home training he got. Either way this young man is such a good employee. I know he's going to go far in life!! Thank you Donte for all your hard work

Employees give off weired vibes there is little to no privacy when using urinals and showering when working out on the floor your basically on top of each other to work out there's really no room to stretch the building is just way to small and has limited parking the atmosphere is just dead there like it seems like noone is in a good mood its so quite you can hear a pin drop.. its very unsettling and uncomfortable in the men's room with having to be on top of each other to change by the lockers and the hydro bed functions don't work properly on the computer to control the settings

The gym is great for what it is, main pro is that it’s open 24/7 most days. What would make it 5 stars is if they had a free weight bench press w/ adjustable bench, pendulum squat and heavier dumbbells. At that point there’d be no reason to go to any other gyms!

Altamont Ave planet fitness! What have you done?! More than half of the machines upstairs are gone. I go every morning and have a routine and it looks like that's over. I did not hear one shred of positive feedback from any of the other regulars this week. Please say you are just mid-update and plan on replacing ALL of the machines upstairs!

I see your response and I cannot reply so am editing here. I did stop at the front desk and was told PF is not replacing all of the equipment and they know everyone is upset and they don't know why the company is doing this. Do you have an actual response to give here?

The general manager, Christina, was racist and discriminatory to me and my guest and also tried to take our photos against our will, despite me saying that my religion did not allow for it.

She added "notes" to their system that made it harder for me to use the gym.

Friendly helpful staff. Always trying to keep the floor and equipments clean and functional. Except for some of the members who always misuse their time there and leave the equipment dirty and do not wipe it down after each use. The men’s bathroom, there’s always someone who flushes paper towels into the urinal, and that always causes it to be clogged and broken, so it always out of order. Props to the staff that’s always been working hard to keep it clean!!

What a great crew. I try to remember everyone’s name but they seem to come and go so fast. Joe and Phillip seem to be the only two I recognize on the floor at the moment. But they are both super nice guys and always seem to keep busy. Try to keep them. These two are always grinding. I enjoy walking in and being on a first named basis. Joe is actually on his hands and knees right now cleaning in front of me.

I want to share how polite, helpful & business oriented the manager,
RJ Janiszewski, is at the Rotterdam Planet Fitness is. I go and use the Rotterdam location as my primary gym. I have gone to other gyms in this area with friends and find the staff n gym including the manager is the best at this Rotterdam location.
RJ, is absolutely the best out of any of the other gyms I've tried in the capital district when you have a question about a machine or what machine would I use to obtain this result or to enhance this part of your body and RJ is the ABSOLUTE BEST. He shows you the machine n how to use it to get the best results.
I have even brought a friend of mine that has a membership at Vent Fitness and she has been working out for maybe 40 yrs n is in good shape but wanted to know if we had a specific machine she could use n he knew exactly what she was referring to n brought us right to the correct machine for that area of her body & she even commented that she doesn't get that same treatment n help at Vent. So she goes with me alot now.
So I say all of that to say when you have a superior manager that is that well informed n helpful he needs to be recognized.
RJ JANISZEWSKI manager, is the best manager/employee out of all of the other fitness places I've been to, Crunch, Vent n another Fitness place but I forget the name of it.

Had a lot of equipment and the space was clean, but with everything packed so close together having a productive workout was very difficult. It felt like everyone was in each other’s space and you were working out in a group instead of just solo.
Parking-lot is not very well lit and feels pretty sketchy at night, so if you are a woman then be careful.

I try to call to cancel my membership with Planet Fitness on the phone because I am six hours away from the original location and they told me I have to send them a letter explaining why I want to cancel. This is very inconvenient and your systems need to be upgraded. I’m not able to send a letter due to certain disabilities and now it seems I have to pay for your membership when I’m not even going to be using it anymore. Super disappointing and will make everyone know how difficult you guys are.

I’ve been going here for 4+ years. They have a new manager. He sits at the front desk, chews on pens and listens as a paper towel dispenser is empty, well over an hour. It’s sad something so simple, so small of a task can be ignored so arrogantly because someone doesn’t take pride in what they do. I spend 5 days of more a week here at least. This is a daily issue but Austin is the only one who has a problem when I ask. It’s easier when I do it myself. I do love the new massage chairs and the new Hydro massage.
