The staff is absolutely wonderful here, and the place is as clean as it was the day they opened! There is also a great assortment of types of equipment and machines, and I notice new types are added as well over the years. I find the quality of the equipment to be great, at least for my expectations and needs from a gym.

The reason for the four star is that there are a couple machines in which there is only one of, and they can get busy during peak hours. It’s a bit hard having to rush to work in the morning while waiting to use them. The main reason for the four star is temperature control - which I understand is out of the locations hands. But it gets very hot in there - some days walking in off the street it feels like a sauna without even having started my workout. The fan system is setup just in the middle, towards the front and closer to the free weights section, so a lot of those members in that area doing weightlifting complain if the fans are too high. But everyone doing cardio and dripping of sweat/overheating is stuck with lack of ventilation. I’m sure it’s a cost issue to fix, but having smaller fans that are more evenly distributed would be immensely helpful - or having HQ keep the gym AC at a reasonable temperature for a gym.

Planet Fitness in Syosset has become a solid part of my routine, and overall, it offers a really good experience for the price. The biggest draw is definitely the affordability – you get access to a decent range of equipment without breaking the bank. I appreciate that they have a large number of cardio machines, so I rarely have to wait for a treadmill or elliptical, even during peak hours. They also have a good selection of weight machines, which is primarily what I use.
The facility is generally clean, which is a big plus. I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, whether I have a question about my membership or need assistance with a machine. The "no-judgment zone" atmosphere is definitely present; it's a comfortable place for people of all fitness levels, and I've never felt intimidated.
However, there are a couple of areas where there's room for improvement, which keeps it from being a full 5-star experience for me. The free weights section is a bit limited, especially if you're looking to do more advanced lifting. While they have dumbbells and some benches, the selection and amount could be expanded. Also, while generally clean, the locker rooms could sometimes use a bit more attention, particularly during busy times.
Despite these minor drawbacks, Planet Fitness in Syosset offers fantastic value for the money. It's a convenient, clean, and welcoming gym with enough equipment to get a good workout in. If you're looking for an affordable and non-intimidating place to focus on your fitness, this is a great option. I'd definitely recommend it!

I recently joined this gym, and since it opened recently, all the equipment looks new and well-maintained. However, there are some issues that stood out to me.

First, the showers are not working properly—the water gets cold very quickly, which is quite inconvenient. Additionally, there are no soap, shampoo, or other toiletries provided. The hairdryer is also not powerful enough.

Second, the tanning booths have several problems. Many of the UV lamps are not working, and there’s nothing inside the room to hang or place our clothes on while using the booth. Sometimes, the booths are not clean, even after I try to wipe them down, so they probably need a deep cleaning. It would also be helpful if the gym provided shower caps to cover our hair and special protective glasses for the tanning beds.

Overall, the gym has great potential, but these issues should be addressed to improve the experience for members.

The temperature is way WARMER than other gyms and the humidity is insane in here because of that‼️ my friends and a couple others wish they’d keep it at a cooler level to be able to work out in here.

Was great until recently. Same machines have been out of order for many weeks now it’s ridiculous. Cleaning supplies also not replenished as frequently, some stations have run out of towels or spray. No toilet paper a couple of times in a bathroom stall.

The employee chomping down on his lunch at the front desk was no help at all canceling my membership. Told me their systems were down and there was nothing else he could do and to return at a later date. I did in fact return later that same day to cancel as planned hoping systems would be up and the same gentleman was there and rolled his eyes at me with an attitude that I had came back inquiring to cancel again. Another young man employed there was very kind and told me that I do in fact have the option to cancel online and that this was a recent feature of planet fitness. He was very informative and helpful during my conversation with him. I wish the First Gentleman had told me this option but I wasted half my day driving back and forth to this location.

Regardless if you have anything valuable or not in your locker. It will be broken. It happened to me twice in one month. Twice they broke the lock and took everything I had in my pockets and the second time it was me and another gentleman. And who knows how many more people that I’m not aware of. And the stuff working there or corporate office doesn’t do anything to prevent it.

I joined PF back in August so I can start going to the gym on my lunch break from work. I really like that for the same price as my previous gym, I can visit multiple locations and have access to the massage chairs and the light therapy.

This gym is always clean, there is always friendly staff around to help or cleaning/dusting etc which is nice to see. I haven't once encountered any supplies being out. The "crowd meter" is super helpful. Although I feel the app is lacking and I wish there was some sort of progress tracker or progress photos could be taken in the app. I have to have a whole separate app to track my workouts and progress.

Only small down side I have with this gym is the layout of the locker room. I guess this chain doesn't assume a lot of their members will need to utilize the locker room to change or shower because when you walk in you are right in a big room that people would be changing in. I don't mind but I know some may be uncomfortable that others need to walk in/out to use the restroom or whatever which leads to lots of people using the "changing stalls" near the showers. There's also a lot of people that take photos and videos in the locker room and even eat lunch in there, which is weird. The showers also take FOREVERRRR to get warm, so you have to turn it on and then go get all your stuff out of your locker.

Overall, I love this planet fitness. Even when I don't want to be there, it's not so bad knowing I'll have a safe, clean, happy environment to work out in.

Too many young children there that are constantly taking up machines but not using them. Taking selfies and just hanging out. They constantly leave back packs and gym bags on the floor, most of the time in the way of people trying to work out. Kids literally wearing slides to work out and most of them have absolutely no gym etiquette. Someone is seriously going to eventually get hurt. Bathroom and locker room always looks dirty. Hicksville was never this bad and they were constantly having staff walk around and clean. Syosset literally always has about 3-4 people behind the counter hanging out. Management really needs to manage. I expect nothing less from only paying$10 per month but Syosset Planet fitness is more like a Dave and Buster's hangout then an actual gym. 👎

I've trained since I was 12 ... as an adult time is limited ... my mini home gym I've used for years I'm grateful for but really has just maintained the limit but I have left ... NOW PF is close and I really push myself "naturally" (no time wasting) ... almost supersetting without even trying to!!! Great supplemental workouts ... amazing equipment...people are just fine ... I'm noticing now a BIG change to my energy and fitness levels which I haven't felt for years ....HAPPY!!!!

Planet fitness finally opened up in Syosset New York. It is a very nice size clean gym with lots of window walls providing light and a open view. There are lots of free weight and equipment as well as treadmills ellipticals leg machines, ab machines the works. You've really got to be motivated however to join a planet fitness because there are no classes or available instructors. It's really based on the app and programs. so if you know what you're doing, I think it's a great gym at a great price

Went to Syosset since the Hicksville PF is closed for renovations. Even though Syosset is smaller I was still quite impressed. Great selection of equipment. Pretty much everything I needed, though to be honest, add a prone leg curl, a second chin/dip assist and back extension bench and it would be perfect. The only glitch was the 30 lb barbell with the straight bar seemed to be missing. I’ll be back, and if Syosset continues to impress I may very well consider changing my home club.

Nice new gym. All new equipment. Wasn’t crowded. Super clean. What can be better than that? Staff was super friendly. I met the Manager Greg when I was going to PF Massapequa while this gym was being built. I’ve known The Assistant manager Jason since he was at PF Hicksville. Never a problem when he is working. He always got all the amenities to work. The gym opened this week so I wanted to come check it out. Works out since my PF in Hicksville is being currently being renovated. Will be back to this location for sure.
