This Vestal Planet Fitness just bought all new equipment. Today is the second time my partner came home and said the management harassed him because the treadmill he was using was squeaking. He has gone to this gym in Vestal for years and never had any problems with the old treadmills. He is 78 years old and sets the treadmill at 4 to 4.2 mph. He cannot hear high pitch squeaks so he wouldn't know if it squeaks. Today they made him get off the treadmill halfway through his workout and told him he was going too slow and had to go faster to stop the squeaking. A treadmill is made to go any speed the customer is comfortable with. If the treadmill squeaks at any speed then it is broken and you have it fixed you don't harass the customer and tell him he has to go faster. What is wrong with the management at this gym? So Planet fitness advertises their gym as a safe unintimidating place to workout. So they harass a 78 year old customer who can't hear high pitch noises for not going fast enough on the treadmill when it squeaks instead of fixing the treadmill or helping him find a treadmill that works. They stop his treadmill workout when he is only half done and intimidate him to stop. They also implied that maybe he should find a new gym. So planet fitness in Vestal is your new equipment functional for anyone at any speed as it should be? Maybe you should bring the old treadmills back, then one could go at any speed and have no problems. Intimidating the senior customers is bad form.

The state of New York never fails. Mold on shower curtains, bathroom was horrible. The lack of customer service never surprises me and the other guest were just as horrible. I love that I travel for work but having to come to any part of NY I hate.

Having visited other branches, it is clear vestal is sub par to other location. Machines are always down for extended period of time and the locker room/shower hygen is discusting at best. Very common for shower curtain to be completely covered in mildew/mold and the smell of it is potant. Sanitation stations are frequently out of paper towel's and the associates can be found sleeping in changing rooms.

So had the scariest experience in the first red flag was not being able to find the attendant…come to find out he was hanging out in the back massage chair …then i get tan laydown #6 and when i tried getting out it was stuck and i couldn’t get out not to mention its cracke by your head …i was so XO furious that i couldn’t get the words out to say it but that bed should have been out of service and your employees shouldn’t be getting massaged when they should be on top of these things if he was present I would ha e reported it then but now that im more calm im going to call to make sure bo one else is put in danger…not to mention from the other negative reviews its the same guy and he still employed because i see someone talking about his work ethic and i just sooke to him and he gave me the excuse he the only one there and was on a 15 min break …clearly the owner really dont care because he should be fired

Had a most disappointing experience at Vestal NY Planet Fitness today. I have been a BLACK CARD member for many years. I end every workout with a Hydro Massage. I love that. Today - as usual - YOU ONLY HAD ONE OF YOUR TWO HYDROMASSAGES WORKING. The other Hydro Massage machine has been down for months. I can only remember one time when you had both Hydro massages working - i.e. one is always broken down / not in use. At the end of my workout, I asked for my Hydro. It was in use. I said I'd wait for next available (on the one and only Hydro operating.) I sat right in plain view adjacent to the staff area. The person I had been waiting for using the Hydro exited and I signalled my readiness to go in and use it. Staff informed me that they had just let someone else go in and use it (AHEAD OF ME - while I was waiting for it.) I was mad. Enraged. PO'd. I could not wait out another session as my gym buddy was waiting patiently for me and his ride home. I have observed MANY "Temporarily Out Of Order" signs on much of your equipment - including one of the Hydromassage machines - FOR EXTENDED PERIODS - MONTHS IN MANY CASES. I find this UNACCEPTABLE. ..... Either fix the broken down equipment - or in the case of the Hydro massage - buy an extra machine so at least two will be available for Black Card Members to avoid wait times. My workout -- indeed my day - was spoiled. I hope to see some improvement. If not, I will take my gym business elsewhere.

My son and I have been going to the Vestal, NY. I went there today and the handicap bathroom stall in the men's locker and bathroom area has been out of service for over a month with a very foul odor coming from the stall that the door is taped shut. One of the hyrdo massage chairs has also been out of order for just as long. Most of the time no one is at the desk to get them to turn on the massage chairs or tanning booths. When and if there is a sign saying to call this number if no one is at the desk, it goes to a call center in another state. For the amount that we pay in fees and membership, you would expect better service and working toilets and machines. This is ridiculous service for the outrageous price that we pay. Next email will be to corporate office. We are not getting the black card service we are paying for!

Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Don’t even bother going unless you’re going at like 3am when no one is there.. every single machine will be being used and impossible to get a turn. They only have one fan that is on top of one treadmill. If you can’t get that one then you’re left to workout in the horrifically overheated gym. I couldn’t even run for 5 minutes without having to stop because they keep the heat on high in that place

I have been a member of planet fitness in Vestal for around a year now, its super clean, the equipment is well maintained and the staff is really nice. You really cant beat it for $10 a month. They do offer some upgraded services with their premium subscription - tanning etc.- but I have never been interested in using those upgrades so I cant really comment on those, and I have never been pressured by anyone to upgrade my membership. If you want a super fancy Gym there are more expensive options in the area, however for the price it is a really great value. To be able to go to a clean and convenient gym for a lower cost then a typical Starbucks order is something I definitely cannot complain about!

My only recommendation would be to get some heavier kettle bells and fixed weight barbells. The kettle bells only go up to 35 and the fixed weight barbells only go to 60.

Love that this location is 24 hrs. It's very clean and the staffs are very friendly. I prefer going in the morning because you don't have to fight for parking. After 4pm, parking gets horrible and more of the patrons are college kids and meatheads hogging the machines.

My wife & I moved to another city. I tried calling to cancel, the front desk girl was very rude. When I asked her what needed to be included in cancellation letter, she was very annoyed when I asked her to clarify what was needed. I wish they would allow you to cancel over the phone. Very crowded, only problem I have is that a lot of people don't wipe down the machines when they are done, which is gross, there are bottles and wipes to use, so its not like this is a big deal to do, unfortunately no one is enforcing this, they're too busy checking out all the hotties. Started out good, but my illness got worse. At first I suspended my membership in Nov. '22, Dec., I called Jan 3rd to cancel. Three days later I get wacked with a $39.00 yearly maintenance fee. As it is impossible to contact a corporate number I had to go to the club to cancel. Chris the Mgr said he would put in to Corp. For the refund.... still waiting... and the reason for cancelation st this time is a left ventricle blocjage. What happened to TV ad that claims cancel at any time?????

Planet Fitness in Vestal is a big, clean workout facility with plenty of treadmills,
Stationary bikes, olipticals, etc. There's room for workouts with weights, resistance training and stretching machines and areas as well. The staff and trainers are friendly too. PF is just a really pleasant place to enjoy a workout. Would highly recommend!

I have been to both this PF and the PF on Glenwood Road. Both places have their pros and cons. I can sincerely say the Vestal PF has the better and more cardio facilities (elliptical machines, treadmills, stair climbers, exercise bikes, etc). In addition the locker room at Vestal seems better organized too. The Glenwood PF is far better equipped with strength training equipment and has a much more diverse toolset from which to choose to tailor your workout routine. I will most likely utilize the Vestal PF for cardio days and the Glenwood PF for strength training.

Signed up with a free month. They keep messing up my bank information. Never got my free month in August, so I went there in person and a "manager" said my free month would be September. I still got charged and when I called the assistant manager told me my account is current which it is not and I told him so then he said yes you owe for September them told me I'm paid up to date and he would have to check if I get a free month because he is sure they were not running a promotion for that. I even showed them my email when I signed up but that does not count and told him the "manager" was supposed to have fixed my account. He just kept telling me he would check to see if they had a promotion. I would never recommend this place again.

The gym REALLY needs to be open 24/7 again. They close now at 7 Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Every night there are still about 30-40 people working out that they need to kick out. It's silly to still be blaming the early close on "covid".
