It has been a while since I was in this planet fitness. They have some new machines, slightly changed the tower section, not bad overall. Sad to see a tricep press machine down, and the guy who decided to stretch using the treadmill kinda bugs me, but neither of those are things I hold management accountable for. Maybe tell the guy instead of putting his shoes where others set there ear buds and phones and hands, that's there's a whole stretching station he could use 20' away...... (Then he went and worked out right next to it after he finished on the treadmill, BTW). Also it's not a huge location, and it filled up pretty quick as we were leaving tho, so good timing for me. Haha. Bottom line, I'll go back.

Great for cardio and workout circuits on machines. Plenty of equipment. My beef is with the free weights for some reason they have taken out barbells and barbell benches and squat racks. The only alternative is a Smith machine or resistance machines. Also not enough dumbbells

I was 280 pounds when I started going to PF. Started May 2023. Everyday that I could get motivated to go...eventually it became everyday. Presently I'm 220 lbs and every week I'm losing at least 2 to 3 pounds. My goal is 180 and a six pack...all before I turn 56. I'm a machine now. I quit drinking, smoking, and eating wrong. This is my new routine for the rest of my life. PF is my partner in this journey and I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you for helping to change, ME!

I’d like to first say the staff here are terrific, that’s the reason for the second star.
You have this summer policy where kids work out for free. Very admirable however I walked in there on Monday, July 7 and there wasn’t a bench or a Smith machine… not one universal station opened. The place was packed. It’s been crowded before but what happens is when these kids come in they come in in packs of five and six. The result is machines being occupied for 20 minutes. I hung around for 15 minutes - nothing. This is not fair to paying members. Period.
And while I’m leaving a review, I have a question: how much would it cost to put two chairs in the shower area? Every single Planet Fitness I’ve been to the water from the shower, runs off into the shower area. There hasn’t been chairs in there for literally 2 years. I’m surprised someone hasn’t already fallen and cracked his skulls.

This Planet Fitness offers a decent experience overall, especially for the price. The staff is friendly and approachable, which definitely adds to the welcoming vibe. There’s a good range of equipment, from cardio machines to free weights and resistance machines, along with Black Card perks like massage chairs and tanning booths.

That said, cleanliness is a consistent issue. The equipment and locker rooms are often less clean than they should be, especially during busy hours. Wipes and spray bottles are available, but I’ve frequently seen machines and benches left sweaty or dirty with no follow-up by staff.

The gym is most crowded between 5–7 PM, and during this time, it’s common to see people camping on machines while scrolling through their phones. It really slows things down and creates unnecessary backups. I wish the staff would enforce basic gym etiquette a bit more to help keep traffic moving.

If you go during off-peak hours, you’ll likely have a better experience. It’s a budget-friendly option, but it could be much better with a stronger focus on cleanliness and member accountability.

Clean and friendly, respectful vibe, but lacks decent climate control. There are days I'll walk in and be sweating profusely before starting a workout. When the place is too hot and everyone is complaining, some of the vents will be blowing hot air. The rear of the gym tends to be significantly cooler, but competition for equipment in the main area is stiff. Staff is understanding, but claim they have no ability to fix the situation. This gym is so close to me, but I've resorted to driving to a much farther PF just to not be overheating miserably.

I have a membership with this gym for some time now. However it was in another location. Now that I live closer to this area, I thought I try this one out. So far I like this gym, its nice and big. Both gym and locker rooms super clean. The staff has been wonderful so far and very helpful. The only thing I wish most planet fitness would offer are real classes, sauna, steam room and a pool like some other gyms. Atleast the classes like aerobics, pilates etc. would be great.

2nd go around with Planet Fitness. Policy states checking account required should there be a problem with your credit card charge. (See policy stated on site)
Instead of the authorized monthly charge to the credit card account they charged me 1 1/2 times on my card because I did not provide bank account because of previous unauthorized charges by planet fitness to my account. When I addressed this issue with Amanda the club manager. We do not do refunds for any reason, cancel your membership if you wish.
Not a customer friendly service for retirees.

Worst gym around. Only redeeming quality is multiple locations. Staff here doesn’t enforce any polices. People talking on the phone and FaceTiming all over the place, on treadmills, etc. People camped out on equipment not working out. Equipment being used dangerously and incorrectly. Locker rooms often messy, disgusting toilets. But of course you get what you pay for. So beware.

Working out is fine there! But I just saw on of their female attendants that is responsible for changing the garbage bags use the antiseptic spray bottles to push the garbage down into the can? Isn't that why she is wearing gloves. Why use the spray bottle that the members touch to as a tool to push dirty paper towels down, that all member end up touching. Staff meeting is in order here! Next time I will take a photo!

As a black card member, this Planet Fitness is, by far, the best one I have been to! The staff is very friendly and all of the equipment has been updated! The set-up of the gym makes sense & provides the optimal flow for my workouts. There is also plenty of equipment duplicates and everything is always very clean. I feel lucky to have PF Wappingers as my home gym!
