The guy attempting to sing, while riding the bike, at the top of his lungs EVERY TIME I SHOW UP to work out is very annoying and disruptive. I stopped coming to PF for awhile because of it. Please figure this out. I go to the gym to work out, not to listen to cats being thrown into a blender.

EVER since management Quit i dont know who to come too over my concerns , the girl with all the colored hair is very uninformative and never knows anything and speaks very rudely when trying to get her apoint across . Employees at this location are useless and will harass you for no reason. An employee was following me around the gym while I was doing my workout and even stood in front of the machines I was using for no reason to watch me. The employee also started to accused me of doing something that I didn't do. I felt uncomfortable while the employee was there and left. I should not feel uncomfortable while I am working out in a Judgement Free Zone® place that advertises that they don't judge. I will not be back again as the staff is useless and doesn't care about the place.

Worst Planet Fitness i have visited ! Paper racks regularly not serviced , I have been to PF Watertown with 4 & 5 paper racks simultaneously empty or not working & today 11/30/24 no one has arrived to open & its now afternoon! The website & hours posted on front door says open today but is not! Definitely very annoying situation! I travel to several PF locations regular & PF Watertown is definitely the worse ! Don’t waste your time here. Showed up at 630am on a weekday and the place is closed. Parking lot full of people waiting. Based on other reviews, this happens a lot. Half the time the showers are broken, women’s bathroom only has 2 that work. Manager/owner must not care or these things would not be happening. I’d rather pay more for a gym with consistent hours and functioning facilities.

This is the 3rd or 4th Sunday that Planet Fitness has not been open on time in the morning. Their sign says that they are open from 7 am to 7pm. It is now 7:45 am on Sunday and the gym is not open and there is nobody in the gym. They have a parking lot of waiting customers and not a single member opening the gym. This is ridiculous as this is the only time I am able to workout before work and do not get out in time before they close early. There’s been notes left on their door on Sundays as well from other angry people about the lack of time management on Sundays.

Not bad, low traffic during my visits. No complaints, the only minor wimper is the water temp in the otherwise good enough showers. An aside. I'm rehabbing from surgury for both leg and shoulder so I'm a bit lower in stature that I once was or claimed. So the shower head adjustment and handheld sprayer is up there, whereas the likely purpose designed for chair height diverter valve ( with both flow and temp levers independently controlled, very nice ;-)) is low; fit for ADA compliance and it's rule. The rule should include words to call out the spray head, it does not. Therefore I do not fault the PF location for this oversight, a real common issue I would not have observed had I not needed access to things I once took as eternal givens and for granted. 4.5/5 for the Watertown NY PF.

Terribly disappointed about the lack of direction and support from the staff. I called and was initially told by the trainer that she was leaving and not taking appointments but to come in and she’d help me out. I went at the time she said she be there and she didn’t remember our conversation from 2 days prior. Soon after they were taking appointments until she left ( same trainer) and I made an appointment. I arrived at the designated time and she stood me up because she changed positions. No phone call to cancel and when I asked her, she said she had just gotten a promotion the day before my appointment and was too busy to call me.I asked her if she could at least tell me about which machines might be easier on certain joints since she hadn’t met with me and she told me she couldn’t answer my question because it was out of the realm of her new job description and added that no staff was allowed to answer such questions due to the liability to the gym. Needless to say, I cancelled my membership.

Love PF, especially since it moved to the mall. An equipment upgrade will be coming soon, but this gym is clean and always busy. Patrons are great at getting their workout done, cleaning the equipment and then moving on so others can use. Staff and management are active and friendly - always filling cleaning stations, cleaning tanning beds, etc. - can use more tanning beds btw :) I spend about 2 hours/workout and go 3-4 times a week - love it here - have been a member for several years and plan to continue!

Great gym. But I was very disappointed with the lack of support from the staff. There was a gentleman who comes in and starts singing very loudly. Normally, the sound gets blocked out by my own music, but today he was extremely loud and distracting. Even with headphones on full volume, it was still very loud. The staff seemed to watch this happen. He then continued to walk around and stand in front of people working out and continue singing. I ended up leaving in the middle of my workout because I was uncomfortable and quite annoyed. There needs to be some sort of staff assistance with this. If this continues, I will most likely end my membership and take it somewhere else.

I'm extremely disappointed with (the rudeness of) the Manager. I have been a Black Card member for several years and I have cancelled my membership. There is a member of this gym, a senior citizen, whom the staff describes as "special needs". This gentleman works out on the Recumbent every day. While peddling he plays the air guitar and sings extremely loudly. (He sings loudly because he wears headphones). When finished with his peddling, he walks around the gym serenading everyone (again, singing loudly) into his air microphone. At first this may seem funny but after awhile it's quite distracting. When I asked the staff if they could simply speak with him about lowering his voice, I was told that I could either visit the gym at a different time (when he wasn't there) or cancel my membership. I chose the latter. When I asked to speak with someone above the General Manager level, I was told that it is not an option. I was directed to send an email to the General Manager and she would forward it. When I asked for a name, she refused to provide one.

Regarding the management reply that was just left - I think that you are being disingenuous. You did not provide an email address!

Also, for anyone who reads this: the YMCA on Arsenal Street is a 12 Million Dollar brand new facility with swimming pools and indoor track. Awesome place! The staff there are welcoming, courteous, and respectful.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for 2 months now because i do not go to planet fitness. I give this one 4 stars only because there is a guy who hops on the bike almost every day and sings at the top of his lungs and plays the air guitar. It's honestly the most annoying thing in the world. We all have headphones on for a reason, I don't want to hear what your listening too. I wear studio beats over the ear headphones that are noise canceling and I can still hear this guy no matter where I am in the gym. The staff need to tell him to stop because its disturbing all of us. I just became a member here and I'm pretty close to just making the drive on post and canceling my membership because I at least don't have to listen to a guy belting out his tunes every day.please do something about this guy.

This planet fitness isn't usually packed and that's a great thing. Even when they get busy they have 3 to 4 of the piece of equipment. The price is only 10$ and for the have to offer it's a price that's hard to beat.

I attempted to join this gym through the Active & Fit Program which is through insurance and costs $30 a month. This gym had signed up for this program to be open to users. I have walked in or joined to over 10 gyms across the country through this program and the process has always been easy. However, when I showed up I was asked for information that has never been asked of me before and referring that I need to call my insurance company. I even provided the directions to the staff on how to sign up an Active & Fit member if an associate is unaware of the program. However, they continued to ask for information I never heard of or even been asked before. This staff seems to be lacking knowledge about the program they signed up for.

You can’t go here if you’re serious and you shouldn’t come here as a beginner because nobody here knows what they’re doing and you’ll learn bad technique. I joined when they opened back up after Covid, so I have had this membership for awhile. I went more than a year not using and still paid. I changed debt cards and didn’t update the payment and they billed me with late fees included. I went in to ask about membership information, details, etc. Some guy who apparently spends his entire time hitting on the female employee at the counter, would *not* stop interrupting her to tell me about how great PF is. I just wanted a quick tour of the gym and locker rooms. The female employee said that she couldn’t leave the front counter but I was welcome to walk around and explore on my own. This dude keeps going on and on, offering to show me things— I’m only half surprised he didn’t try following me into the women’s locker room. 🙄

I got a membership at the Y, instead— the staff is far nicer, far more attentive, and a female member went out of her way to give me a good tour and answer all my questions. Heck, she even helped me pick out a good locker.

The location and equipment is what you would expect from a planet fitness and $10 a month. Smith machines, cables machines and DBs to 75lb. Since the move to the new location in the mall, the management/employees seemed to have degraded unfortunately. This place is practically brand new but has dust and hairballs in every corner. Now I sit in a parking lot full of people in their cars because someone didn't show up to work. For $10/ month, you'll get what you pay for.

UPDATE: I moved out of the area and have tried two different planet fitness facilities where I am in the mid west. The Watertown facility is a sparkling gold mine compared to what is out here. I’ll bump Watertown up another star and look for a new gym.

Planet fitness used to be a nice place to work out before they switched management. Staff were polite and friendly, they used to greet guests on check ins and outs telling customers "welcome/ have a great workout", but now they are very bitter, rude, and are no longer courteous. The staff rush/ hoover over you to look at your phone during check ins, then give you a fake Tim Curry smile (from Home Alone 2), like they aren't being rude about it.
The crowd meter is total bogus. It will say "2" on the crowd meter in the app and the whole gym is packed with hardly any equipment available to use. That's on top of the roof leaking in multiple spots in the gym on top of equipment.
They'll have several staff members just sitting at the counter, but never have the bathrooms cleaned or stocked up with toliet paper. I've gone in to use the restrooms on multiple occasions and the stall was completely out of tp. It's sad how down hill it's gone in the last few months.
I had a question about my membership and i tried to call to find out, but no one answers their line, ever. So I ended up asking the manager in person, she wasn't sure what the answer would be and said she'd call me back with the information, but they never did this was several weeks ago. At this point I feel like I've had the run around with this place and will probably cancel my membership at this point.
I used to love working there, as I thought it was a "judgment free zone", but now every time I walk in I feel like I'm being judged by the staff. It's no longer a fun place to work out in, which is very disappointing.

Absolute worst planet fitness in Nys. Forget about getting a workout in any time after 3:30 pm on any weekday. The gym is tiny and packed full of G.I.’s that use the place as a social gathering place instead of a place to workout. Forget about getting any kind of free weight exercise in because it’s always taken up by 20 year olds flexing in the mirror. They belong working out at the barracks on fort drum not here. When u go into the locker room you’ll be greeted by a bunch of grown men taking pictures of each other with their shirts off. Planet fitness needs to lower their princess because the quality of any workout has lowered dramatically. O I forgot to mention they are only open 24hrs monday thru Thursday now. They close at nine on Friday and at 7 on sat and sun. Absolute dumpster of a gym. Don’t waste your money unless you’re one of those people that want to spend 20 bucks a month on a stinky gym to socialize in like 90% of the people that workout here. REALLY disappointed with the new location at the mall. The new space is very small and cramped. All the machines are too close together and leaves basically no open floor room for stretching. The equipment also isn't new. It is all the same broken equipment that never seems to get fixed from the old location. The staff are also regularly seen behind the front desk on their phones when they should be cleaning the dusty equipment and locker rooms. It also appears the new location has no air conditioning? Now that it is warmer the gym has been very hot with a foul smell most days. I wish there was another affordable gym near by to go to instead of this one.

I arrived to the Planet Fitness located at 21182 Salmon Mall Loop W Watertown NY 13601. Once I got there me and another member was waiting at the counter for assistance for a very lengthy time. We decided to search the area and realized that there was no employees to be found to assist us. After a moment of idleness I decided to grab one of the business cards and call the Club Manager, Brandon Jones, to seek further aid. Once I expressed to him my concerns, his first response was, "how did you get my number." I was immediately shocked by the question and after inform him of the business card that was open to the public, his next response was to, "never call this number ever again." He said how his workers are somewhere cleaning and how I had no right to call him. I told him that if his employees was where they was suppose to be then i wouldn't have to call. We went back and forth and after a couple of moments I told him that I will be contacting Corporate and informing them that I have never encountered such horrendous service since being a member here. Once the conversation was over, the employee ran to the desk and stated he was "using the bathroom." I told him about the wait and his manager from which he said, "you was not waiting that long." I immediately received support from the other customer who also said we was. Afterwhile of going back and forth, I asked for his name(Logan) and said I will be telling them about this experience as well. He told me to leave and claim i was "berating" him. I am just one of many customers who have been receiving unsatisfactory customer service from this location in particular. Never have I ever received it from anyone else. The manager called me on my way home and when I tried to call back I notice I was blocked.

I’m here On Sunday morning at 7:16AM and staff still has not arrived to open the doors. This is the second time this has happened . Obviously a clear oversight or miscommunication amongst the staff of who is covering to open on the weekend. Maybe a good time to look at some process improvements. Possibly a way to alert your customers through the app that there will be a delay or closure.

This location has recently moved to the Salmon Run Mall, between Best Buy and the old Gander Outdoors. The new facilities are clean, modern, and more expansive than the previous location on the other side of the highway. There was nothing wrong with the old facility but this one is much nicer. My only complaint is the same as for all Planet Fitness locations: not enough Smith machines! There is always a wait for those, and it always seems like they have far more aerobic machines than needed, even at peak occupancy. I'd much rather see an additional 1-2 Smith machines than dozens of extraneous treadmills. Oh well. I'll still be visiting regularly.

Worst place to ever get a membership, they ARE NOT helping in anyway shape or form. Refuse to let you talk to management. Give me an email to contact management and they have some general employee contact me. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMENDED! Wish I could leave ZERO stars. Literally REFUSED TO REFUND THE charges after I already went to the store in person and cancelled and one of their employees didn't properly cancel anything but it's my fault? No, they have kids working here who are CLEARLY lazy.

Kind of small, lots of treadmills and similar equipment taking up most of the space. 75lbs is the biggest dumbell 3 cable machines, 3 Smith machines. All in all not bad for $10 a month but a huge waste of space.

Apparently the machines are so old that they can’t connect to the tv bluetooth…& if you try to connect your phone to the tv you have to wade thru 20 tvs w/the same name to try to find the one you want to listen to 😩
cardio + reading captions ≠ enjoyable
Also, the “stretching” area has barely any floor space to actually set up a mat b/c the room has so many machines in it.

Because the gym is enforcing mask mandates. My wife and I chose to suspend our memberships. Then I put stop payment on my account to keep them from taking membership fees. Unfortunately, my wife's debit card was also tied to the membership and when the check didn't clear, they nailed me that way. Apparently, the bank cannot block debit withdrawls, only dispute them.

So Planet Fitness managed to charge me for a membership we will not use because they are devious enough to snatch your money two weeks after you suspend your membership and there is little you can do about it. Banks consider scheduled payments as authorized, even if you stop authorizing them at a later date.

According to my bank, Planet Fitness does this all the time and they recommended cancelling the debit card and getting a new one.

This is not the only gym in town, and not even the cheapest. I was content to pay my membership in the past, but I am no longer in light of their crooked business practices.

I've only been to this planet fitness a couple times, the equipment is pretty clean and I didn't have any experiences with nasty people. The staff is nice and I recommend coming here if you are looking for a gym to work out at.
