Powerbuilding is a great place to work out. The community is great, and all of the equipment is well kept. Coach Gary is awesome and is a resource for everyone that works out at PowerBuilding.
Their personal training program is worth strongly considering. I have been working with Coach Vin Schiavarelli for two months and I can’t say enough about the experience I’ve had so far. Not only am I down 10+ pounds, but I feel healthier, stronger, and my lower back pain is significantly better than it was when I started with him. Coach Vin spends a ton of time working on stabilizing and strengthening my core and lower back as well as a lot of time on full body workouts. He comes in every week with a personalized workout plan and needless to say, he’s very motivating, attentive, and detail oriented (poor form won’t get past him).
The training program comes with personalized nutrition guidance that Coach Vin and Coach Gary work together on. It’s very detailed, not intimidating, and a great framework to help you achieve your goals. I highly recommend the personal training program and working with Coach Vin!

Gary is a phenomenal individual. You will learn within a few sessions how seriously he takes his craft & the dedication he puts into his sessions & clients. His training sessions are fantastic & he takes your concerns and wants seriously. Aside from training, he offers nutritional guide. His prices are fair. I’m glad to be under his tutelage. My only regret is I didn’t do this sooner.

The best gym on the island. From the moment I walked inside of Gary’s gym I was welcomed like family and I felt like it too. The entire gym is so friendly and welcoming. There is not a single judgement at power building fitness but the entire environment fosters strength. I could not thank Gary enough so I felt obliged to write this review. One thing that Gary taught me without words is the only difference between me and him is time. That’s just simply a taste of the power building mentality.

This place is practically my second home. I've been coming here for almost a year now. Summer is my trainer. I really appreciate how she is all about form. She's always careful I'm doing my forms correctly while I'm working out. I absolutely love her energy, professionalism and knowledge of fitness. She's great. Honestly all coaches here are wonderful. Of course all good things come with a price tag but if you want to take your health and fitness to the next level I highly recommend this place.

I've had the privilege of training with Coach Gary for the past month or so, and I cannot speak highly enough about his program. Not only was Coach dedicated and motivated, he was able to encourage me to keep on going during a workout ,even when I felt like giving up myself. Moreover, he took the time to go through each and every exercise and allowed me to take breaks in-between sets as needed (with our sessions sometimes exceeding a hour, which he never once complained about and was always understanding) . His personalized program was tailored to my goals, emphasizing body recomposition and steady progress, and I'm definitely starting to see the results. If you're looking for a personal trainer who genuinely cares and delivers results, Gary is your guy.

Training with Gary is a life changer for me. Gary is super motivational and extremely knowledgeable of the science behind the workouts. So happy my daughter and I chose to join Power building fitness! We’re being trained by Summer who has been so patient, motivating and knowledgeable. Powerbuilding Fitness is the best place to take control of your health!! We joined as a family to try and make ourselves better. I never realized how far off I was until I did my first session with Gary. Gary was very supportive and truly cares to make you better. We now know that we made the right decision to do personal training with Gary and Powerbuilding Fitness. They have a quality professional gym. Everyone is kind and friendly. Gary and staff are amazing! I coach a travel softball team and we sent our girls to Gary to train and they were engaged and excited to go each week. He made it fun for them along with being informative and teaching them about how their bodies move and nutrition.

This gym as a whole has a great atmosphere and is very clean. All the equipment is clearly taken care of which any user will appreciate. I have Jason as my trainer and he is just incredible. Being new to the gym he is super patient with me and explains everything very well that he has planned for the workout. He is very motivational as well which pushes me to finish a set. Jason also makes sure to warm up and cool down before and after the workout with foam rollers, stretching, etc. which may be easily looked over when training by yourself. Very glad I joined!

Very nice and neat gym with up to date machines and equipment. I had a group lesson with one of the trainers Jason who was more than willing to help me with any questions that I had and was constantly motivating throughout the workout. I had an overall positive experience. Whatever your goals are Jason will put you in the best position to achieve them.

Heard about gary through a friend and saw his results so I scheduled a consultation. Upon meeting gary he took about an hour out to get to know me and to take measurements of my weight bmi etc . He then asked me my goals and told me alittle about himself . The whole time I felt very comfortable. I told him I would like to loose weight while packing on muscle and he structured a workout plan and eating plan around my goals . In 3 months time I lost 20 pounds while gaining a great understanding of how to properly work out . To this day anyone who ever asks or is in need of a trainer i point them In the direction of Gary

I have been training at this location for about a month now and it’s been great, I already feel stronger. My trainer Dina has been amazing helping me with my form and explaining what exercises works certain muscle groups. She pushes me to do more, as well as listens to me when I have a question or concern. I highly recommend coming here and working with Dina!

I highly recommend this place! About one month ago I started exercising with Dina as my trainer! I have not properly exercised for a long time I was very unmotivated and shy to have someone train me but when I met, and got to know Dina.. I knew that she was the perfect coach for me. She is professional, patient, kind & super understanding. I love our chats and giggles during my session, as well her pushing me with motivation when I am feeling tired out. Her encouragement has given me the strength & confidence that I needed to start this program! Approaching one month in, I am pleased with my progress, and am already starting to see a difference in my body. I feel assured that with her continued training and encouragement I would continue getting the best results and reach my goal. Powerbuilding is amazing. This gym blows out all the other gyms on staten Island. I’ve been to personal training sessions at multiple gyms on the island and nothing compares to PowerBuilding Personal Training. I go to Gary Miller quite often for one on one training. Have to say it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done. The one on one training really helps me to focus on gaining strength and muscle. I truly enjoy working out with Gary, he’s extremely knowledgeable about health and fitness, and he caters to your specific wants and needs. I’m a 60 year old man, who had multiple orthopedic surgeries, so power lifting wasn’t ideal for me , but getting stronger, looking more muscular and dropping excess fat was very important to me. Gary put a program together specifically designed for me and helped me achieve all my goals physically but more important, being diabetic my A1c when I started was 8.2 and now is 6.7. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any of your personal fitness goals as well as getting healthier. If you’re serious about looking and feeling better … Gary Miller is the trainer you need to work with !!!!

I needed to get back in the gym and was looking for a gym and a trainer, I stumbled across Powerbuilding Fitness which had everything I was looking for, Coach Gary is an excellent trainer, he makes sure you are doing the exercises correctly so you don't get hurt, the great thing about this gym Is that I feel comfortable going there, I have been going for about a month and I am able to feel a difference in that I am getting stronger, I look forward to each session, I highly recommend anyone starting out to check out this gym. As an amateur gym rat/power lifter I was doing good. Then in the last 2 years I got into a slump, decided to get back on track with Coach Gary. Not only do I see now how much I truly didn’t know, but I am already feeling amazing and seeing results within only 2 months. This Gym has a unique idea. It's a personal training gym for one on one training. The Owner Gary Miller is extremely knowledgeable about proper muscle building. If you need that push to get in shape and are not sure how to do it then strongly consider coming down to this gym. These guys will whip you into shape guaranteed.
