Marissa's Prana Yoga class stands out as a truly unique experience. It seamlessly blends education and exercise in an elegant manner, specifically tailored for expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. Marissa, a seasoned expert and innovator in alternative solutions for expectant parents, has thoughtfully curated this class with inclusivity as its guiding principle. Her goal is to provide a safe haven for expectant mothers, where they can feel fully included. This specialized course caters to the unique needs of moms-to-be, ensuring they can practice yoga without feeling overwhelmed or out of place. Prana Yoga is where expectant mothers can find the perfect balance.
My wife was breached, and Marissa was very patient, caring and went out of her way to help teach my wife exercises after classes had ended. She’s such a kind person who really cares about people and loves what she does.

I am so thankful for this yoga community and Marissa. Prana has been a huge part of my both my pregnancy journeys and chapters of becoming a mom, then a mom of 2. The prenatal classes, the workshops, meeting new moms and the yoga classes that are supportive of my postpartum body are everything to me.

Fantastic place to take both virtual and in person yoga. I began by taking the virtual classes, which were informative and restorative. I also took them in person outside. I cannot imagine a more beautiful setting for a prenatal yoga class. The outdoor classes overlook the water. I also recommend their birthing ball workshop. Highly recommend!

Prana's classes are awesome. The instructors are so compassionate and connect with participants. The classes helped a lot with pregnancy aches and pains - they were an absolute necessity! I would recommend Prana and their classes to everyone, especially pregnant and postpartum moms.

I am so glad I found this yoga studio. I haven’t been to any of the in person classes yet, so I can’t speak to those, but I have been doing virtual pre-natal yoga for the last four months. It is really hard being pregnant during this time, it has felt lonely and isolating, but being able to connect with other pregnant people through this community has helped me so much. The classes I have attended are beginner friendly, and are a gentle restorative based yoga that really helps with the aches and pains of pregnancy. Marissa is wonderful yoga teacher and I highly recommend checking out her classes. Seriously have so much love and gratitude for this community!

Fantastic team of instructors creating a wonderful, supportive community for women and mothers. Although the studio has been closed during the pandemic, Prana continues to serve their community through virtual classes and groups. Highly recommend for prenatal yoga and childbirth education classes.

I started coming to Prana Prenatal Yoga when I was pregnant, at the old Harrison location, and practiced Yoga with Sarah. After my son was born, I attended many, many classes at the new location in Port Chester with my new baby in tow. The space is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Dee has the best mama & baby pre-crawler classes and she is a wonderful instructor who knows what expecting mothers and new mother's bodies really need. This center helped my body in so many ways. From coping from pregnancy pains to healing my post-partum body (as a formerly active fitness oriented person) I can't imagine my pregnancy and experience of having a new baby without going here.
It is a clean, safe environment to bring a new baby. I am so thankful we were welcome to this community and it was a great place to socialize my newborn child! He grew so much over the time we came here. When my son started to crawl, we took classes with Nipa. The class welcomed crawlers, but also challenged my body slightly more than the pre-crawlers class and had more focus on strengthening your core (which I loved!). My son had a great time roaming around in class while I was able to practice yoga and as he grew there was more and more yoga interaction with the babies:) The pilates mat mama baby class was also awesome.
Every instructor I've encountered there was amazing and sweet, my son seemed to love them, and Dee is a truly caring owner. We stopped coming when my son turned 1... but I watched him grow from only 6 weeks old to turning over, to crawling around! I have many fond memories with my baby (now toddler) here and would recommend this place to any expecting or new mother!

Amazing experience in Yoga for Labor class with Dee - she was the most positive, knowledgeable and helpful teacher. I ended up having a medically induced delivery, but was still able to use a lot of the techniques I learned in class for early labor and getting through the pain of back labor. Highly recommend for any expectant mother, no matter how you plan to deliver!

One of my favorite things to tell anyone pregnant about is this amazing resource! I didn't live in the area for my first pregnancy but was able to attend prenatal yoga here with my second and the difference was night and day. I took both Prana Birthing and Yoga for Labor and entered labor being able to tap into a level of relaxation I did not know was possible. Following delivery this group continues to have your back - with a variety of classes, work shops, a commitment to identify needs, and with an open and creative mind on ways to accommodate them. So grateful to have discovered this gem.

Prana has been and continues to be an amazing center for holistic health. Even more so now that I’m a new mom there’s so many inclusive activities for me and my baby! Dee, its Owner has manifested an amazing refuge from the daily grind that is life, and continues to create inclusive and diverse workshops for all. A must for prenatal and postnatal women!

Hi! I just want to let you know how thankful I am for this community of mamas and yoga teachers. I wish I had started sooner! I have had amazing experiences with each of the teachers and leave with positive feelings about my (first!) pregnancy each time.
Yesterday, after having my first “tough” pregnant day, I attended Roxane’s class, and left feeling like everything would be ok! She taught an amazing class, and I just felt so supported by her - physically and mentally.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Prana Yoga!

I have been attending yoga classes and workshops at Prana Prenatal for the past 3 months and my only regret is that I didn't find it sooner! The owner, Dee, and her team at Prana, not only lead you through wonderful movement practices tailored to our changing, aching bodies, but also help you tap into your divine femininity. The later is what I find so special about Prana. There is a real sense of community and empowerment for mamas, during a time when the medical world often makes us feel fear and lack of control over our bodies. Prana Prenatal yoga should be a part of every pregnant mama's prenatal and postpartum journey. With all my love and gratitude - S.DiSisto, PT, RYT

I started taking prenatal yoga to reduce my stress and the anxiety associated with preparing to become a first time mom. I’ve gotten so much more from these ladies. This yoga studio encourages a community of support and wellbeing. I’ve taken yoga classes with Dee, Allegra and Jillian so far, as well as The Breastfeeding Workshop and Yoga for labor workshop. I learned so much from these workshops. They are all wonderful, knowledgeable and very attentive instructors. I recently gave birth to my little one and I’m planning to return to Prana Yoga as soon as I can. I highly recommend this yoga studio.

Prana Prenatal is an incredible studio and resource for expecting parents, moms and dads alike. For mommas there are of course prenatal yoga classes, but for couples there are also workshops like Yoga for Labor that promote the union between birth partners and the laboring mother. Great classes, great teachers. I've been extremely impressed and have attended for the last 5 months of my 2nd pregnancy. With only 7 weeks to go, I will definitely be back for post-birth classes and offerings.

I can't say enough about the beautiful community and space that Dee has built with Prana Prenatal. Dee played such an important role during my pregnancy with my twins. I honestly attribute my seemingly uneventful pregnancy and delivery to everything I learned and practiced during her prenatal classes and workshops. Her stunning new studio is a total haven and the definition of a "Zen den". Everything from the decor to the industrial design are a reflection of her calming energy and the strong support that she gives to her community.

Prana’s new studio is gorgeous! Dee is a very inspirational teacher. The classes are always great and tailored towards any particular body part you want to focus on more that day. It is always different depending on the vibe of that day. I love coming because I always leave at peace, relaxed, and feeling good. I recommend trying out a class because I am sure you will end up wanting more.

Prana studio became my second home after I started taking prenatal yoga classes while 25 weeks pregnant. Not only it was judgment free zone and safe place for me and my baby, I found new friends going thru the same thing. Amazing teachers being very personal and supportive!! I took advantage of all offered classes/workshops and can’t say one negative thing. Super helpful for me (and my hubby who took some of the classes with me). Things I/we learned were/are helpful though the pregnancy, labor and also after that... highly recommended for all who are looking for a friendly, peaceful and positive happy place

I started taking Dee’s Saturday prenatal classes when I was 13 weeks pregnant until I gave birth at 39 weeks. I had taken a few yoga classes here and there before, but would classify myself as a beginner. The class was always taught with the notion that everyone is at different skill levels, and Dee would offer modifications to make poses more or less challenging. With that being said, we always worked at 70% capacity and were encouraged to take water breaks, child’s pose, or even nap whenever needed. From the beginning of my pregnancy, I learned skills to have a calmer mind and body which I attribute my speedy labor to.
The class environment was always welcoming and tailored to meet the needs of the individuals as well as the entire group that day. If many women were feeling lower back pain, for example, Dee would ensure we did plenty of poses to help stretch and strengthen that part of our body. I always left class with a few new tricks up my sleeve that were easy to implement into my everyday life. I became more aware of my body than ever before. The hour long class was truly time to nurture our body and mind. I felt comforted in her class by learning what the other expectant moms were going through at different stages of their pregnancies and easily became friends with these mamas. The studio naturally fosters connections and relationships between all of the women.
My husband and I also took Dee’s ‘Yoga for Labor’ class. We learned tips & tricks to help us if we needed to labor at home for long hours, how to help ease the pain of back labor, and how our partners could help us through the process. On the morning I went into labor, my husband really used some of the things Dee taught him about ways to help me breathe calmly. What I found most helpful about this workshop was the time we spent learning how to stay calm. Dee often says “1..2..3...Relax, relax, relax...” and I found myself saying this mantra to myself throughout my pregnancy (and still now!) Dee taught us about how our mind and body are connected- which for me reinforced how important it would be to stay calm.
As soon as I was cleared by my doctor, I couldn’t wait to get to the Mommy & Me classes. I loved being reconnected with the familiar faces at prenatal yoga. Some days I did not get much yoga in, as it is encouraged to tend to your baby as needed (feed them, change them, etc) but that was okay because I got out of the house and did something for myself! I never once felt like if my baby was fussing I was ruining the class experience for others. The class is taught specifically to strengthen your post baby body in safe ways. Both Dee & Judi are wonderful with the babies- they have a calming effect on them I swear! Most days, all of the moms and babies will grab lunch after class together, which is a great way to bond and discuss the new challenges we all face as mothers. This has been invaluable to me. We asked them to add Sunday classes so we could still attend once we went back to work and they figured out how to do it- the instructors are truly always looking to help out the little community we have built and support our village of moms. I attend Mommy & Me classes with Dee & Judi, which all have been wonderful. (Judi gives the most relaxing little head massage at the end of class!)
I also took Sarah’s Pelvic Floor workshop. This class was very informative and taught me more about my post natal body than I ever knew before. I found the class to be more discussion based than yoga based, but we learned how to use yoga poses and breathing techniques to strengthen our pelvic floors.
Once you take a class at Prana, you are invited to join a private Facebook group. This is another way for everyone to connect, ask for advice/recommendations, share articles, or simply get some words of encouragement and support when needed.
I cannot speak highly enough of the teachers, classes, or community at Prana!

I have been fortunate to take part in the prenatal yoga, yoga for labor, and mama & baby yoga offered at this studio, and I would highly recommend all of them!! The instructors are fabulous- they know their yoga and are extremely committed to providing tailored care to hopeful/expecting/new parents. The environment is welcoming to all and non-judgemental. Even if you have not been into yoga before, you will be welcomed, respected, and cared for at this studio.

I cannot say enough good things about the team at Prana Yoga. They are dedicated, kind, informed and caring. They create a safe and nurturing space for everyone coming into the class (me, daughter, husband!). Prenatal yoga was my favorite as it helped me find physical and mental peace before my second child was born. Yoga for Labor for my husband and I was a wonderful guide that helped us to really focus on the birth in theory and actuality. Dee is amazing. She brings a power and calmness to the room encouraging the connection of mind and body. In addition to Dee, Judi and Sarah are also excellent guides for such monumental life changes. Sarah has a fine focus on the pelvic floor that I’m not sure is offered anywhere else. Likewise Judi’s research into diastasis helped me understand my post babies’ body in a way I had not understood before. The resources they provide to women are ongoing – there is a class for everyone. In addition to yoga, there is a post-partum support group, a mommy and me and toddler yoga. They really try to help at every step. The facility is always clean and peaceful. The logistics of ordering classes are easy and straightforward.

Mama and Baby Yoga is a wonderful experience. Regardless of how you delivered your baby, the instructors go out of their way to address any post-labor aches you may be having. The instructors are knowledgeable, caring and kind. As a added bonus, the last few minutes focused on baby massage. We will be coming back for toddler Yoga soon!

Love Prana Yoga! I've taken classes with both Dee and Judi and they are both beyond amazing. If anyone is looking to take their yoga experience to the next level or would like some personal coaching, I highly recommend booking some individual sessions with Judi! I scheduled some one-on-one sessions with her this spring to get a better grounding in the basic poses and to work on my form as part of my commitment to regaining some strength and confidence post-kids, and her instruction exceeded all my expectations. The time at the studio with her was always a highlight of my week. I would come in there depleted and needing a nap and walk out feeling calm, centered, and prepared to deal with whatever the week had in store for me. Judi projects a serenity, strength, and warmth that made me instantly comfortable and practicing with her gave me a place to reflect and hear what my mind and body were trying to communicate to me. We started every session with a short meditation and intention-setting (can't tell you how many times this practice helped me get my heart in the right place when I had come in tied up in knots about something or other). Then we would spend time going through poses- Judi would demonstrate, explain, encourage, and adjust as needed 🙂 I had spent a decent amount of time in yoga classes but this was the first time I really began to understand how much is going on in each pose, and how it unfolds as you hold it. Judi taught me how to sit with any difficulty or discomfort that cropped up and to notice and observe where I was resisting, and why- and of course like all things yoga-related this lesson resonates on many levels, beyond just the physical body. I felt completely at ease, accepted, and supported with Judi and it allowed me to push myself physically, mentally and spiritually, and also to get really honest with myself. She finishes each session with yoga nidra and reiki, so you leave feeling like you've been at a spa for a week. I know as busy women we don't always carve out much time for ourselves, but the hours I spent at the studio with Judi were a gift to myself that ultimately put me in a better place to be the person I want to be, for myself and my family. She's the best!"

During my first pregnancy, and for several years before, I had really bad hip pain that PT couldn't cure. I started doing private yoga lessons every other week with Dee, and I noticed improvement after a few lessons. Now, this pregnancy, my hips feel great and I can sleep on my side like I'm supposed to! I was afraid I would have hip pain for the rest of my life. I am so grateful for Dee's help. She is an amazing yoga instructor and a nice person. Thank you Dee!!!
