About the Club

Be Healthy. Be Joyful. Be Connected. We teach yoga and meditation through our in-person, on-line
and on-demand classes, workshops and privates for individuals and organizations. We practice and teach a variety of yoga styles and formats, including Chair Yoga. There is something for everyone, all levels of experience and any level of physical fitness.

Present Wisdom® is a group of dedicated yoga and meditation instructors collaboratively serving Armonk, Ossining, Pleasantville, Westchester NY and beyond. Together, we are excited to offer a diverse selection of classes for students of all levels.

I am a big fan of Present Wisdom yoga. I first learned of them back on June 11, 2020 where they offered a free live demo of Chair Yoga on meetup.com. Ever since then I have been going online almost every week to do Chair Yoga with Alka, or one of her wonderful teachers of yoga. My body has changed incredibly thanks to Chair Yoga. I was having problems with my knees and had a terrible time getting up off the floor. Now I have no problem at all. My knees are very flexible as is the rest of my body. I would highly recommend Present Wisdom yoga to my friends and family. Thank you Alka, for all the helped with transforming my body into something much more flexible and enjoyable.

I have been practicing yoga on
and off for years and most recently for the past 3 plus years have been taking classes with the teachers at Present Wisdom. Each class and teacher is unique and they are all wonderful! The classes are small enough to get personal attention and feedback. I can’t say enough I love the classes 🥰

I started doing chair yoga with Alka during the pandemic, and have continued ever since. The classes are stimulating, and she helps tailor the presentation to different levels of ability. I also truly enjoy her meditations. I love being a member because I have access to classes on demand even when they are not being given at the moment, I can highly recommend Present Wisdom.

Nannette's style is unique, almost "medical yoga" - her specific descriptions are like "verbal adjystments" as she helps us learn to guide the body into alignment. She is quick to offer modifications to avoid over-extending the range of motion & prevent doing more potential harm than good in a posture. I always feel safe in her class and am learning how to protect my body from injury w/proper alignment for commom movements as we age.

I was fortunate to find weekly Meditation and Chair Yoga virtual classes from The Greenwich Library Online Events Calendar. The effects of those practices, under Alka Kaminer's guidance, last during the rest of the week. It is a must needed no-impact, gentle practice to complete my competitive long distance running training: Alka Kaminer's Meditation and Chair Yoga practices help to prevent injuries by making my body flexible and strong. I highly recommend her classes.
