As someone who joined having never touched a barbell before, I can confidently say that Pulse Barbell Club is a gym perfect for all experience levels. The coaches are highly knowledgable and go above and beyond to meet you where you are and continuously push you to improve. However, what I appreciate most about Pulse is the strong sense of community. It has made all the difference in staying consistent, showing up, and actually enjoying going to the gym.

Russ and his team are all fantastic trainers. I love the small intimate groups. I've always struggled with self motivation when it comes to working out so this type of environment makes it easy and fun. The trainers push me to work hard and also help adjust the bar settings and weights for me! It doesn’t get any better than that.

Pulse is a great gym for all ages…. I am 60yrs old. The instructors are knowledgeable and program the workouts to each individual level (private/semi private) The other members are fun and helpful, no egos. Gym schedule (hours) are flexible. Pulse also offers yoga classes which is an added plus.

Pulse Barbell Club is such a hidden gem! Russ and Charolette have created such a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Everyone here is so friendly and encouraging. I’ve been going to Pulse Barbell Club since the summer of 2018 and have absolutely no regrets. I originally started as an athlete just looking to stay in shape during the off-season, but I quickly fell in love with the place and never left. It’s been awesome to watch the gym grow into what it is today.
Russell and Charlotte have built an amazing community that keeps you coming back. Their knowledge and the entire staff’s expertise are second to none, and I don’t take it for granted. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great environment to train and be part of something special.

Top-notch. Pulse Barbell is fully equipped with everything a beginner to a serious lifter need: power racks, deadlift platforms, benches, specialty bars, and all the gear. Everything is clean, organized, and great quality.

Everyone at this gym is fantastic! From the owner Russ, to the trainers (Vinny, Alex, Thomas) and even all of the gym members, everyone is so knowledgeable, hardworking, kind and encouraging!
There is a sense of community that is hard to find at most gyms. Whether you're trying to hit a new PR or dreading that last set on your least favorite lift, everyone is right there next to you to encourage yo give it your all and cheer on your successes.
There are plenty of squat/bench racks for everyone. You're never waiting to do a exercise, there's plenty of equipment for everyone. Each month the trainers change the workout so nothing gets stale and you can improve in all different areas. One month may focus on heavier weights and lower reps while the next month could be the opposite. Everything is tracked and logged in an so it's easy to track your own progress and the trainers can even update the weight of your lifts based on your workout history.
I highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone. Whether you're someone who needs a little extra motivation or someone looking to take their fitness journey to the next level. No matter your goals, Pulse Barbell Club is going to help you achieve them!

Absolutely wonderful gym. 10/10 no notes. I had only exercised with dumbbells and machines, but wanted to learn barbell exercises. I needed instruction and oversight to be sure I was performing all movements safely. Enter Pulse. The classes are small groups. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. There's a good mix of men and women of all ages; it really feels like a community. The exercise programs change every month and are thoughtfully designed to balance and build on previous work. All of the instructors are knowledgeable and focused. I sincerely look forward to my classes and have gotten so much stronger since joining.

I am so happy to have found this gym!! I was only living in the area for a few months but seriously considered staying to be able to stay with this gym. I had previous barbell experience but still learned so much from the coaches. The class size is perfect so that you feel like you are getting individual attention, while still having the energy and motivation of a group workout. I think this gym would be a perfect option for a person of any level, whether new to exercise or looking to compete, because of the personalized attention the coaches provide. I also did some great yoga classes at Breathe, and loved that I could get both yoga and gym classes with a single membership. There is also a physical therapist in house that was able to help rehab my injury while I continued working out, so they truly offer everything under one roof. Not only were the coaches knowledgeable, but they were friendly, motivating, warm, and welcoming, as were the other gym members. I wholeheartedly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone! It is worth every penny!

This is one of the greatest gyms/yoga studios I’ve been a member of. The trainers, yoga instructors, and members make it feel like a community. I couldn’t have been any luckier being referred to pulse barbell club to achieve the bodybuilding goals I have for myself. With the knowledge all the trainers have there on proper lifting form, recovery, diet I mean anything I can think of to help achieve my goals they have the knowledge and experience. I have been going to Pulse for over 6 months now and it has been nothing but great! It has helped me in feeling stronger, addressed my concerns around my joints and losing over 30 pounds. All the trainers are great and so helpful! They offer all the benefits of personal training and group training in one session. The training program is tailored for you, so you can show up as a complete beginner or having trained your whole life.
Pulse also has great members and community. People are pleasant, social and encouraging. Lastly the space is very clean and up to date. Definitely worth checking out! There is also a great complimentary yoga studio next door.

Pulse is THE BEST training gym EVER!! I can not say enough good things about the staff and lifting community. Firstly, the way everything is organized and ran is all you could ever want in a gym. I came in 5 months post 2nd ACL and meniscus surgery and have been out of sports for 2 years because of this. I had known trainer Vinny from previous PT in Massapequa so I signed up for the entire summer lifting and getting my muscles back to where they need to be. This is where I was introduced to Russ and Julie. Russ and Vinny both taught me the RIGHT way to lift for the best results while keeping my injury in mind. Nothing was ever easy and each day I was motivated to go up in weight and constantly be pushed to the next level. On the flip side Julie helped me with rehabbing all the nagging pain in my hips and knees following my surgeries. Without her I would’ve never been able to lift the weight I was lifting pain free. I quickly noticed my muscles building as my performance on the lacrosse field enhanced. While I did not want to go back to college and leave this place I was eager to get back and show off my hard work. I then received the best news ever. For the first time in 2 years I was finally cleared to play the sport I worked so hard in. My initial reaction was to text Russ and Vinny my gratitude for their help achieving my goal over the summer. Pulse is not just a training gym but a community and I will always recommend this gym to anyone looking to reach their goals.
