The best spot for a good, varied low intensity workout! I like the different cycles and how they challenge with new exercises every time. My body gets stronger by the day and I can see how beneficial is for my overall mental health.

I’ve been coming here for 2+ years and must leave a review for exceptional customer support at front desk and the studio has good selection of instructors. Best times to come is on weekdays from 12-2pm. It gets crowded on the weekends and I don’t get the same quality of workout. I used to have a membership here and did not have too much issue cancelling; I can’t same the same about other workout studios near the neighborhood. I have been getting unusual amounts of pushy texts to start a membership which is a little annoying but I understand they have a quota to meet and respect the hustle.

Pure Barre Park Slope was my first intro to barre classes, and I found it through ClassPass. My first class completely kicked my butt—I struggled to keep up and had to rest often—but I ended up loving it so much that I signed up as a member and bought a few class packs.
Now, I feel stronger each time I go. My posture has improved, my core is more engaged, and my legs feel noticeably stronger. The instructors are super supportive, and the vibe is welcoming. If you’re on the fence, take the first step—it’s absolutely worth it!

I had always belonged to a large gym. After the pandemic, I joined Pure Barre in Park Slope and have never looked back.
Classes are in a small setting where the instructors are friendly, high energy, knowledgeable, and still able to give individual correction on positioning and technique.
As an older member, I see that my body is leaner, my core is stronger, and most importantly my balanced is better.

I’m so glad I found pure barre! I have gained so much strength and increased my flexibility, the changes are inspiring. Park slope has great teachers and a very nice community atmosphere. The different classes offer varying challenges - and they never get easier! The classes are also always changing so it stays fresh and new (and it’s so easy to book using the app). Define and classic are my favorites. Im working towards the next milestone of 250 clases. Strongly recommend - I love it!

Pure Barre Park Slope has a great combination of talented instructors, rigorous classes, no judgment atmosphere, and flexible scheduling. I really wasn’t sure I could keep up when I started Pure Barre 18 months ago but, thanks to the instructors who provide personalized corrections and encouragement, I am now more flexible and toned. The studio is very welcoming and has a friendly neighborhood vibe. I’m frequently one of the oldest attendees but never feel out of place. Highly recommend!

I'm beyond grateful to have stumbled upon this Pure Barre community. I took 1 class and became a member. From Sonnet and all working front desk, greeting you warmly, to each instructor doing the same. Comfortable and inclusive space is immediately created. You feel that each instructor puts their heart into each class. The environment is warm & welcoming. Cheering you on, adjustments (if comfortable), and meeting you where you are. Can not say enough great things. Each class has played an integral part in strengthening me, physically and mentally. That hour is for you; the behind scenes effort is felt & appreciated. Thank you ALL :)

I'm so glad that I found Pure Barre Park Slope. The instructors are very friendly and supportive; they care about getting to know each client and will expertly guide you on your fitness journey. I did ballet for many years, and Pure Barre feels like a return to my ballet roots, while integrating elements from yoga, Pilates, cardio and strength training. I've been doing barre here for 10 months and am very pleased with how toned it has made me. I highly recommend the Pure Barre Park Slope studio and community!

I tried Pure Barre for the first time about three months ago through ClassPass and fell in love! Fully converted to being a member at the Park Slope studio recently, and I love that I can choose classes based on my availability during the week. Because of my shifting availability, I think I’ve taken class with a different instructor almost every time (starting to get repeats now 😄) and everyone has been wonderful! I’m slowly getting better at it and really appreciate the gentle guidance to improve my form and encouraging adjustments to push myself a little more during class, with absolutely no shame for any modifications I may need to take for certain exercises. BONUS (for me, at least 😂): The Ripped Bodice is just two blocks away, and I love popping by before or after class 🥰

I really love this place, even though I usually have to drive there and it's a little bit of a schlep, but I'm STILL a fan! They have tons of classes, lots of flexibility re: timing/scheduling, even when the classes are full it never feels uncomfortably packed, it's very clean (which a germaphobe like me appreciates), and everyone is SO nice. My dream would be to live around the corner, and then I'd probably be doing three classes a day. But for now, I go when I can (which is still fairly often) and I find that it gets my day off to a good start. You might think that it would get boring, since there are really only three formats, but the formats are quite different, and even within the same format there is a lot of flexibility in terms of what the teacher will make you do, so it's quite often a killer workout. But what really keeps me coming back is just how kind and welcoming everyone is, how well run and well organized, and how many class options there are -- you'll always find something to fit your schedule!

Pure barre is a great full body workout, I always leave feeling that good burn. Sonnet always greets me by name with a smile, all of the instructors know our names and give positive feedback throughout class which I really appreciate. I have been going to group exercise classes for years at my gym and never experienced this and it really makes a difference. Thanks PB! My only qualm is the harsh overhead lighting which give the face a zombie-like quality although it does make my muscles look really good so I guess I’ll take it. Always nice to emerge from that back chamber into the sunny front room complete with my post-barre glow, like a metamorphosis. My 3-4 times a week ritual

I've been a member of Pure Barre Park Slope for about 18 months and it was love at first tuck. :) The instructors are top notch, the members are easy going, and the work is intense (every body according to it's abilities). It's a multi generational studio, and its membership is predominantly female.
My favorite formats are the yoga-inspired Align and dance/pilates-inspired Classic, and they also have more intensive cardio and strength option as well. The schedule is robust--you can *always* find a daily option. They shake up the community with special events and challenges throughout the year (see the pictures of the Mom-osa Mother's Day treat that awaited us after class last weekend...)
I never get bored, because the choreography changes every few weeks. And at the same time, there is a fairly consistent pattern from class to class. It took me about 4-5 classes before I figured out the patterns and the etiquette. Today, I have 179 classes under my belt--working toward my 250 class milestone.
I will admit that there are times I quietly swear at my instructors under my breath when they make those tiny adjustments in my form... :) As a former dancer and yoga instructor, I appreciate their ability to recognize and offer kind corrections, as well as positive reinforcement when things are going well.
Here I am on my 50th class milestone.
Highly recommended!

My very first Pure Barre class was 1 year ago via class pass. The class was in the UES, and I loved the vibe of the workout and instructor, plus I felt SO good after. I took a couple more classes via class pass in UES (I work there), but then eventually took one at my local PB in Park Slope! I decided to sign up for an unlimited membership in January of this year, and I’m so glad I did! I love the community of this location. The instructors are very personable, they make you feel comfortable and welcome, they help with modifications, and always ask for consent with hands on prior to class starting. I love coming here on my days off and getting a full body workout! The different class styles make it challenging, and my core has never been stronger! I recommend Pure Barre to all my friends, and have brought a couple friends with me to this location! Thanks Sonnet and thanks to all the instructors for making this a fun, yet challenging workout experience!! :)

The instructors are amazing and almost everyone working at the studio knows me by name and it makes me feel very welcomed. The others attending the classes are also very respectful so I feel at ease being totally new to this form of exercise. That being said, be careful about not going overboard with classes and correcting your form because you don’t want to strain your body (in my case it was hips and knees) and if you’re comfortable, definitely take advantage of instructors doing hands on correction as that is the best way to correct your form. They’re all really great people there.

FYI this place has a zero strike lateness policy including for first timers. Fiancée was 5 minutes late to her first class (uber got stuck in traffic, ironically she was ubering to be on time) and was not allowed in and then on top of that was charged a $25 no show fee by Pure Barre & Class Pass (No show means no one ever shows up, not is 5 minutes late lol...) The front desk worker even saw her waiting forever to cross the street because of traffic, still denied. Her friend said she saw her from inside the class and the class had JUST started and she was still denied. Yay high standards and policies, bye bye recurring customer / $200+ a month for you guys. Have a great workout everyone!

I could not reccomend this location more! Tons of class options and times / availability (as long as you sign up 6+ hours in advance) .. Excellent team of people running this studio - from front desk all the way to the actual class instructors. The classes are all challegning and varied so you don't feel like you are doing the exact same thing every day. This is a consistent work-out that I can do - even with a busy schedule - highly recomend to try a class if this is new for you. /
Lastly, would love to mention the helpful front desk team who have been wonderful in explaining the packages and working with me on recomendations based on my needs and billing questions that I have had - very responsive and thoughtful.

Credits are non-transferable even though I have an injury and asked if my partner could take the class in my place. And the credits expire after a fairly short length of time. I enjoyed the classes but will sadly no longer be willing to attend with this company knowing this is their policy.
Update: they called me soon after seeing this review to confirm that credits are non-transferable, but they were able to extend the expiration on my existing credits (Typically requires a doctor’s note). I give them back 2 stars for lovely and accommodating customer service, but the no-transfer policy is still unfortunate.

I’m never going to Pure Barre again. The music was so loud I couldn’t hear anything the instructor was saying. I told the instructor this multiple times but the music was still blasting. Eventually, with no clue what was going on, I gave up and did my own thing. I don’t know who thinks any of this is a good idea other than finance girlbosses who have never voted and are training for the class wars. Count me out. I’ll be at Terrace Fitness on Prospect Park West

As a runner, I've always been intimidated by dancing/barre workouts, but Pure Barre broke that stereotype. I occasionally attended Pure Barre classes via ClassPass, but didn't invest in a membership until joining this location.
The Pure Barre Park Slope location creates sense of community where each employee puts in the extra effort to not only get to know names, but to really personalize efforts and provide a great workout. The community is also quite diverse (e.g. gender, body type, race, outfits (not everyone is in a matching lulu set)) which adds to the experience.
I've made this my primary workout to complement my running and have seen great results in my ability to engage my core and make a mind/muscle connection.
Definitely recommend to anyone!

I had never taken a barre class before, but I live in the area and just decided to try it on a whim one day. My foundations class was taught by Ali, and I fell in love immediately. My natural rhythm and coordination are both absolutely terrible, but I never felt embarrassed and I've gotten so much better. The instructors have all been so encouraging and kind, but at the same time, they don't draw attention to you if your form is off. It's a quick and effective correction that's done with a smile and the other students are too focused on their own form to notice. I've been to other Pure Barre studios since but this is still my favorite, and all the instructors are great but Ali is still my #1. Highly recommend!

I've never felt more empowered to put my physical health first in my life, and it's all thanks to the instructors and the Park Slope studio.

I’ve been going to Pure Barre Park Slope for a while now and I absolutely love it! The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. I was so nervous to try out barre for the first time and they were really great at explaining everything and helping me with my form on my first visit. I love that they always mix up the workout so it’s always challenging and something different each visit. They also create great playlists to help you push through the class :). I highly recommend Pure Barre and this location!

On November 16, 2018 I took an amazing REFORMER Class. The class was small and the instructor gave a lot of great personal attention to form. It's been a week and I just stopped being sore on WED LOL. Thanks for a great class.

I feel (and sleep) so much better since I started at the Pure Barre. In the last few month, I gained more strength than I thought I ever could.

I think what I really appreciate (aside from a thorough workout which is often surprisingly challenging and effective in some simple ways) is the kind presence of the teachers. I really value that and it makes a difference!!

My favourite workout for the past 5 years, hands down the best pb studio thanks to the great team of teachers! If you want something that will really work and tighten the bod, this is it. May look low key and a lot less cardio, but it’s hard work. Highly recommend!
