Making the gym 24/7 it's an excellent idea (it used to be like that before 2020)No excuses to don't go because gym it's about to close ,plus it doesn't get overcrowded anymore ,which it was becoming a VERY annoying problem ( even more with some people wasting time looking at their phones) hey people!!!! One of the worst redesigns I've ever seen. Barely anyone working there since they put the horrible entrance tubes (which is gross and time consuming, causing lines). Gym is more packed than ever, probably because of the longer time to get in and out. Garbage cans are overflowing and wipe dispenser are empty. Several machines broken. Highly recommend going to any other gym, clearly pure gym does not care about its customers, and just wants to save a quick buck by getting rid of workers in exchange for clunky slow tech

Ridiculous entrance to enter the gym.. and to leave the gym. A tube that makes no sense. Use a turnstile if that's the case. If there's a blackout you're stuck in the tube with no air.. now that's a lawsuit!! Get rid of them stupis things.. most of the time, you can't even get connection to get your code out. Emergency door will be open if I have an emergency to get to. Not gonna wait to have someone open them doors. What if there's a fire. That area will be limited with space for ppl to get out bc of them stupid tube to get in and out of the gym. Machines are broken .

Pure took budget gym to a new low. Feces on the bathroom floor and trash everywhere. They leave a broom out in the bathroom, I guess they think a guest will take it upon themselves to clean? You have to download an app and let the company collect your data just to get inside. People loitering around the entrance having trouble getting in. No staff there for safety. Fewer machines than when it was Blink. Just yikes.

this gym was getting better last year with consistent cleaning and new equipment, however it has taken a nosedive since it became puregym
the floors, bathrooms, and locker rooms are noticeably dirty. there are no carabiners on the machines and you have to bring your own. if i can order them on amazon for $1 each how much would it realistically cost for this gym to buy more 💀
they also got rid of treadmills and bikes and did not replace them + reducing the unlimited guest pass + the idiotic individual pod entry and exit during busy hours

Most of the time front desk employees are missing and not even checking people coming in without their membership. I have the membership but then I walked in without scanning the code nobody was stopping me.
Also gym needs to be cleaned. A lot of wipes are on the floor trash cans are full bathroom and lockers are dirty.
Overly crowded no matter what time you go even crack in the morning or after 11pm anytime you go you will see every machine is occupied.

The gym is quite crowded on weekday afternoons and evenings, though it’s much quieter on weekends — but it also closes pretty early on weekends. It’s best to bring your own headphones since people often drop dumbbells loudly. The restroom cleanliness could use improvement; trash bins are frequently full and not replaced in time. On the bright side, equipment maintenance is pretty quick — a treadmill was repaired the next day. The space itself is large and feels much more open compared to the "purple gym" next door. One small downside is that they sometimes start turning off the lights before closing time to encourage people to leave.

If you just moved to the area and were thinking "hey this is close to me and reasonably priced" here are a few fair warnings. Personally I went here for 2 weeks and will never step foot in it ever again.
-The gym is extremely crowded at all times. Be ready to wait an extended period of time for a machine or be ready to work in with 3 other people
-The clips to many of the machines are missing so much so that the gym members have resorted to ordering their clips online off Amazon for private use and take them off once they're done with them.
-There are no weight racks so you'll find just random piles of weight everywhere.
-Dumbbells are pretty much missing as well.
-Locker rooms are not clean and do not seem to be regularly serviced.
-There also seem to be quite a few people who abuse the guest policy and cause it to be even more packed.
-There are also likely several safety violations, there's no cushioning for the deadlift platforms. When I was there a guy was deadlifting on the ground and the entire gym was shaking everytime he dropped the weights.

Entering those bathrooms is the worst. This has been reported on several occasions, and they don't make decisions. -training floor is WIDE OPEN in the center of the gym, and there are 2 separate free-weights areas. gym feels very spacious and not claustrophobic one bit
-yes the locker room is a bit messy but you have hundreds of members going to this place throughout the day of course you're gonna get some people who are not clean. management is doing what it can to keep it clean. i walked in here on a thursday afternoon at 4 PM and yes there was a mess but it's a little to be expected when it's so crammed in here there's so many people. this is not an excuse however let's keep things in context and focus on the main reason we are here which is to get our training session in

Recently, blink was bought out by Puregym company. And they sent me to collection because for whatever reason they couldn’t access my credit card information, I never had any issues in the past and they had my credit card information. And since they changed from blink to puregym blink, I had been there only once and it was a horrible experience: bathrooms super dirty, no sanitizing towels on dispensers, people smoking vapes. I mean it vibes was depressing to say the least. Thinking about cancelling my membership. But I will give them another chance see if this new company can make blink better or at least bring to the same level it was before.

One of the worst blinks I've been to. They always seem to run out of cleaning wipes every month, which is never an issue at other blinks. This place is very congested and most of the machines are not working. The most surprising and shocking part is they don’t have clip for every single machine. Which is the worst ever thing one can imagine in such place. Like seriously??!!! everyone bringing their own clip and take it back after workout. Why does one need to go to the gym if they don’t have enough accessories for workout. Doesn’t make any sense. Please replace the old machines and the make total fit for the people to workout.

You need to bring back giving the consumer a key chain badge since the App doesn’t work. I have staff at front desk help me and no success log into the app. Customer service just tells you delete the app and reinstall and clear the cookies. Still doesn’t work. So I have to give my phone number every time I go. Blinks you need to do better service. You charge enough for membership to provide better service.

I’ve been a proud member of this gym since it opened and have always loved this location — but I’m deeply disappointed by the current state of cleanliness.
What initially seemed like a one-off bad day has turned into a consistent issue. The facility, especially the restrooms and locker rooms, has become noticeably unkempt. Toilets and urinals are often in poor condition, some sinks don’t work, and on multiple visits, there’s been no toilet paper available. The floors sometimes have an unpleasant odor, and I rarely see cleaning staff on site.
It’s frustrating, especially considering the annual maintenance fees we pay — the upkeep does not reflect that investment. In contrast, the Astoria location appears to be much better managed and maintained.
While I understand that members may leave paper or trash around, basic sanitation should not be neglected. The gym still offers great equipment, but the declining cleanliness in shared spaces like the bathrooms and locker areas is a serious concern that needs to be addressed ASAP.

Blink decided to limit guest access to 4x per month for existing green and blue members. And no new blue members will have guest privileges. SUCKS BIG TIME for loyal members!! Guest should have access at least 20x per month. BTW, stock up on equipment clips and wipes, clean the bathroom and repair the oft broken toilet and faucets! SHAME ON YOU BLINK!!!!

Been six months since my first review and 2 months into the 2025. Many new members but same old issues persist. While there was a brief period of time where dirty wipes, empty plastic water bottles and un-racked weights etc were taken care of consistently by the staff, they are now a collective noticeable problem again. Inconsiderate gym members are primarily to blame, but the Blink associates, not just the regular cleaning crew, must do walk-throughs during their shifts to help handle it. Members also ignore the clear posted signs that prohibit placing anything on top of the floor lockers. Staff should simply toss those items away. Lastly, please do not allow any member to obstruct any part of the entrance, stairs, stairwell etc such as locking their e-scooter to the railing. It's a building and/or fire code violation. One particular member has been doing just that for at least a week now. Break that lock and discard that fire hazard. See attached photo.

My primary spot is Jackson Heights with Woodside and Astoria as bonus sites.
While all of those branches have upgraded their equipment, I notice that Woodside has kept a few of the older models such as the Life Fitness treadmills, which are wider and of better quality. But within a couple of months after their arrival, many of the new treadmills have developed some QC issues such as slipping belts, control panel button malfunctions etc. Woodside still has at least one Bosu ball ab stand which I prefer. I am perplexed as to why Jackson Heights got rid of its two Bosu’s, which were not taking up much space, and replaced them with only a single ab/pull up tower.
I am also not a fan of the new elliptical machines as they are noticeably more circular than elliptical in their motion. Plus, the handles appear to needlessly draw your arms inward and, as a whole, the machine itself feels wobbly.
In terms of gym etiquette, all three locations are more or less the same. You have respectful, considerate members. Then there are those “Knuckleheads” that: spend a great deal of time on their phones while forcing members to wait to use the equipment; loudly play their music/video without earphones; leave dumbbells and weight plates all over the floor and not re-racking them when done; leave wipes and their plastic water bottles everywhere; wear barely covered tops so their sweaty skin can slobber all over the gym; place their personal belongings such as gym bags in the middle of the floor/walk areas; do not wash hands after going to the bathroom; create a mess in the locker room and by the sink areas; take selfie photos/videos in the locker room and bathroom; bring their dirty street scooters into the gym and locker rooms; use the precious few benches as their personal picnic table and rest stoop; hog machines for themselves and their friends who are not even in the gym yet {this one is especially problematic at the Woodside location, which I suspect will eventually boil over into a full-on fist-fight}.
While the cleaning staff generally does a very good job, the other Blink employees should at the very least do regular walk-throughs to re-rack weights (Yes, they used to do this when the gym first re-opened after the Covid closures). Now, what I see are employees simply lounging around on their phones and using the equipment during their break-time or when off work. They have to care more.
Having said all that, I do sincerely hope that Blink’s bankruptcy filing will not result in closures of these neighborhood facilities. PLEASE STAY OPEN and IMPROVE THE GYM EXPERIENCE AND CULTURE.

Literally people are stealing the stuff and management is not taking any action. Ultimately others have to suffer except few experienced builders.

Also has been less clean recently. Some of the clientele have been leaving showers in gross condition (shavings in shower for example). Given it was really clean in the past I suspect we should just give them feedback to help them be aware of this. Sadly, posting a sign requesting to just use shower for showering not grooming may be necessary as well. Also a sign with “Exit/Salida” on the right exit door may be a good idea. Many have been consistently exiting through the left blocking oncomers (since the exit door can’t be opened from outside).

The machines need to be repaired, it is not possible that they are broken or that they do not have the necessary parts to perform the exercise and that one must carry the parts to be able to use them.

Honestly, my experience at this gym was really disappointing. The front desk staff seemed clueless about what's going on, and the overall organization was a mess. Equipment was scattered all over the place, and essential pieces were missing, making it hard to get a good workout. To top it off, the bathroom was dirty and uninviting. For a gym that's supposed to help you get fit, it's surprising how unfocused and unmaintained the space feels.

AVOID like the plague. This is literally the worst gym I have ever been to my entire life. There are so many negatives that I don’t even know where to start. It is IMPOSSIBLE to work out any time of the day because is so excessively crowded at all times. Most of the people are young kids who use the place as a hang out spot. Gym etiquette is non existent. I do enjoy Blink fitness quite a bit! I don’t understand a lot of the complaints about “hidden fees.” I never experienced that, but I suppose it’s because I read the contract before I signed up. It’s all pretty transparent if you’re able to read. Anyways, of all the different Blink locations, this specific location has a rather colorful clientele, which is pretty cool! They sure do like to use a lot of weights all at once.. it’s impressive. They take their workouts pretty seriously. And I don’t blame them for not putting the weights back when they’re done, I know I’m pretty tuckered out too after an intense work out! My one complaint is that the dumbbell weight rack isn’t labeled, so the dumbbells are kind of all over the place. I thought it was funny how a barbell was randomly sitting in the back corner of the gym for the entire hour and a half I was there. I guess the last person to use it didn’t know you’re supposed to put the weights back when you’re done! I know, it can be a difficult concept for some people to grasp. It’s all good though, you have to take the good with the bad when you use a budget gym. In the end, I was able to get a pump, and that’s what really matters. I appreciate you Jackson Heights, but I think I’ll stick with the NYU location.

this gym has been taking money from the accounts of the members for absolutely no reason and no warning, my boyfriend recently had 3 charges made on his card from this gym. the first was understandable, but the other two were completely uncalled for. 2 payments of 58 dollars and one today that was 29 dollars. They’ve given him the run around telling him to wait for it to stop pending, when he went and asked for his money back they told him to go to the bank and ask for his money back there, the bank told him before hand to go to the gym since they charged him. The lady he talked to the first time about the 2nd 58 dollar charge avoided him recently and has been avoiding throughout this whole ordeal. His friend has also been charged about 300 dollars and given the run around as well. Honestly should not be in business if they’re not going to give explanations or warnings on unexpected charges. do not go to this gym!!

Nunca mas voy a pagar membresia en este gimnasio, no son claros con lo que te cobran, me anoté porque solo iba a estar dos meses ya que luego me iba de la ciudad, me dijeron que no me cobraban el anual feed hasta el mes tres lo cual de todas formas considero una estafa porque no me parece correcto pagar 60 dolares por un año de gimnasio si solo iba a ir dos meses. Acepté ir porque me dijeron que si cancelaba antes del tercer mes no me lo cobraron, resulta que en el segundo mes que me cobraron me cobraron también el anual feed. No son claros con las fechas e inclusive nunca me avisaron que cobraban por cancelación. Me cobraron anual feed y cancelación por ir solo dos meses lo cual considero una estafa. VAYAN A PLANET FITNESS ES MEJOR.

Yesterday was my 1st and last time going to this gym. I'm not someone who cares to leave reviews but I would leave zero stars if I could - in my 8 years of strength training I have NEVER seen a gym so packed, people so inconsiderate, and weights left all over the place. All it takes is one second of inattention to cause an injury. There was a young woman on the leg press for 45 minutes I kid you not - even with 4 other people including myself asking how many sets she had left there was no sense of urgency, as if she owned the equipment. With the amount of people there at a time I would be surprised if another pandemic didn't spark, there HAS to be some health hazard measure in place. Just because we have vaccines for Covid doesn't mean it been eradicated amongst other illnesses. That same carelessness is what cause NYC to become the epicenter in the first place. I can tell when a business is money hungry and when they actually value the clientele. I'm not sure how much of what the owner/managers can do here but something has to change!! It's ABSURD

They will charge you $62 yearly maintenance fee after your first month. Which is non-refundable even if you cancel your membership the third month. I have no idea how they are allowed to just do that. Companies like these bring in as much cash as possible from their members. It feels like a scam, and they act like it’s just company’s policy (bs).
The gym itself is great but charging people before notifying them is a scam like activity. I’m so relieved that I’m not part of this gym anymore.

One of the worst gyms I've ever been to. It's okay and just okay if you do cardio but it's so crowded that you will spend half your time waiting to use equipment. Lots of people with no social lives use this gym as a hangout place to hog machines with other people and slack! You are here to workout not sleep on machines!
I suggest people get actual social lives instead of treating a gym like a high school cafeteria. Hidden fees and staff that lie about them.

AVOID like the plague if you actually want to work out. I have never seen a gym so packed at ALL times in my entire life. I have tried going during different times but this is place is insanely packed that it's impossible to work out here. The crowd is very young and it seems to be a hang out spot for them rather than a gym to work out. Their hours are also awful. They close at 7pm on sat/sundays. Management should stop accepting new members or extend their hours to try to make it less packed. Some members are inconsiderate and hold on to several barbels at the same time. I will request an early cancelation without penalty because I can't have a normal workout here. And to me that is a breach of contract.

The people at this gym have some of the worst gym etiquette I’ve ever encountered. There could be a line of people waiting for equipment, but the person using it will still be sitting on their phone or chatting with friends as if nobody else exists. The culture here feels more like a social hangout than a place for serious workouts.
The same people hog the same machines every day, taking excessively long rest periods between sets—sometimes so long it’s hard to tell if they’re actually working out at all. This makes it impossible to maintain the flow of your workout, and it’s incredibly frustrating when you’re left waiting for what feels like forever.
On top of that, nobody reracks their dumbbells, and people rarely clean the equipment after use. It’s a complete mess. I’ve left my workouts unfinished several times because of the sheer frustration caused by this lack of consideration. This gym has been a disorganized and chaotic space for years, and it doesn’t seem like the management is interested in addressing the culture of poor etiquette.”

Unfortunately I go under one star. I do not recommend, you pay so many fees, they dont even tell you about, you pay the annual fee like 50$ and after if you want to cancel you pay 50$ more and no one is telling you you about that, they try to take your money from everything. It would be great if the staff would leave fort front desk, and let clients know that they have to share the weights and stations. It would be great, if staff intervened in this way, several days a week. I realize that the staff's priority is to sign-up more member's, but it would be nice if when the staff aren't busy; that they walk the gym floor, teaching clients that they must share the equipment; and stations with other member's!

This gym is a scam. Annual “maintenance fee” is the equivalent of the cost of 3 months of membership, and it is non refundable even if you see a charge on your card and call them right away. Also, they demand a 45 day cancellation notice and will charge you in advance if you are interested in canceling the membership.
Lastly, you will never get any communication from them about any charges or upcoming renewal of their infamous “maintenance fee”. The gym is gross and members are very territorial about certain machines as if they own the place. Glad I canceled.

Crowded every hour of the day, tired to go at 6-8 pm its crowded to the point people are making little stations with the left over equipment that people are using 😐so I planned on going earlier, went at 5:35 AM!!every single machine is already being used. I got to use the incline press station and some lady was already asking me how many reps do I have when I was on my warmup set. Currently looking for another gym to at least use a single machine.

One of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to. Graffiti in the bathrooms, the locker rooms are always so dirty and worst of all the front desk staff always have the worst attitudes. I ask for help with one thing and they make you feel like you’re being such a hassle to them. They’re always on their phones when I come in.
Not to mention it’s always super crowded at all hours of the day.
Also tried cancelling my membership to switch to a different, more clean gym, and they will charge you extra on top of your membership.

Frustrating Experience with Membership Cancellation
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Blink Gym. The process for canceling my membership has been nothing short of a nightmare. I requested to cancel my membership in person over a year ago, and despite that, I have continued to be charged monthly fees.
It's incredibly frustrating to see that the gym complicates what should be a straightforward process. They make it difficult to get any resolution or assistance with cancellations. Now that I’ve moved to a different state, I can't even go in person to sort this out. It feels like a scam to keep charging me for a service I no longer use or want.
I urge anyone considering a membership at Blink Gym to think twice. Their customer service and cancellation policies are severely lacking, and it feels like they are more interested in holding onto your money than supporting their members. Save yourself the hassle and look for a gym that values its customers!
P.S. they even have the audacity to charge me yearly membership service fees for which I haven’t even step foot in that gym for years.

Generally packed, decent assortment of new equipment. Could do with less treadmills, more weighlifting racks and more variety of cardio equipment. The new rack layout is more efficient but pushing the racks all the way to the wall prevents people from properly racking the plates and forces people to leave them scattered on the floor. New bench press racks are way too high to perform the exercise properly

Be careful when you enroll in a subscription with Blink Fitness. I enrolled in a month to month plan and first day they explained that you can “cancel any time”. Today I cancelled and they charged me with 25 dollars, and they explained that a person should cancel subscription by giving 45 days notice, so you should always pay in order to cancel. So it’s a blatant lie that you can cancel any time. “No commitments”? Ja! because in the end you will have to pay or they won’t cancel your contract. Scammers. If you enjoy spending your workout walking around the gym looking for weights, or waiting for someone to finish after 45 minutes on one machine, then you'll love it here. It's ALWAYS full, just about every machine and bench taken, despite what the "realtime" on the app says. And front desk people don't seem to know much about working out, or equipment, they just chat with their friends. Oh, and bring your own carabiner if you want to use any of the machines - they can't even keep those around.

This Blink has been making improvements which is greatly appreciated but there is still a LOT they can do and it really just boils down to hiring front desk managers that aren’t children and actually care to do there job. A great example is the fact that the benches + dumbells are essentially useless because people will take a set of 35,40,45 dumbells at the same time for themselves to save five minutes. Nobody else can use them at the same time so theres just swathes of people waiting constantly. Nobody puts any of the equipment back to where it’s supposed to be, theres not even numbers on the rack to show which dumbbell goes where. This isn’t even a difficult problem this is basic gym stuff. The result is an overpacked and messy gym that frustrates everybody. It’s too bad this is the only good affordable gym in the area because if there was any other I’m sure they would change how they handle things very quickly.

If you want to cancel your membership even though it’s no-contract, you will be charged up to 200 dollars cancellation fee and if you do not cancel, they will keep attempting charging your card on file forever!
No matter when you cancel your membership, even it’s a 1-year contract, after you used more than 1 year, you will still be charged the cancellation fee! the monthly fee looks cheaper but they charge hidden fee and cancellation fee, that’s where they get more money back.
Call customer consumer affair and report it if you encounter same situation and you can also dispute it and report this mechant online!

As you come near the place, there is a bit of initial confusion but to clear it up, the gym is on the 2nd floor of the building which can be accessed by elevator or stairs. I prefer the stairs because it is the gym after all, might as well warm up the legs. The place is about average sized, not the biggest I've seen but not small and condensed in size so you got some room to move around...that is if it isn't the weekend because coming here on a early Saturday afternoon, there's gonna be people here. I've been lucky enough to find that all of the equipment seem to be in working order, but I've come across many people doing supersets with said machines so it was difficult to find something to work with. I can't fault that on the gym, they can't control their patrons. It's just timing of the inconvenience to my chagrin. I've no complaints with the place atmosphere wise, as long as employees to proper maintenance with the machines, I say it's properly managed.

I am very frustrated with the attitude of this gym to maintenance. Much of the equipment is almost permanently out of order. Today I spoke to a staff member about this, who first of all rudely kept ear buds in his ear while talking to me (I asked if he could hear me and he said yes, but he clearly couldn't because I had to keep repeating things). I said it was frustrating to have equipment permanently not working, and in some cases not marked with out of order signs so people keep trying to use it and finding it to be broken. I had spoken to a staff member about one particular problem last week but nothing had changed. Today the staff member told me it was the fault of gym members who keep breaking the equipment. I couldn't believe this and I said "it's your responsibility to have working equipment, that's what members are paying for." He just kept repeating that it was the members' fault. This is a very, very long way from good enough.

I have been going to this Blink for almost 10 years. I am editing my original review down to 2 stars. This blink location has become a pigsty. This place is disgusting. It has gotten so bad that I have stopped going and prefer to go to the one in Steinway, or Woodside. Seriously, do not go here.
