The gym has not offered any notification since the start of quarantine in regards to billing, I have tried endlessly to cancel my subscription and the number to the gym is out of service. And no other form of communication has been working I’m not comfortable physically going to the gym and all support can say is it’s needs to be handled directly. I’ve been charged on multiple occasions now and still haven’t received any notification in regards to my requests. How do you begin charging customers without any notification that you will be doing so these are dire times and every dollar means something.

You guys closed to the pandemic I moved out Long Island during that time, you guys opened back up and have been charging me ever since without me even going to the gym but the worst part is that you are call forwarding all the calls so nobody can get thru to you to cancel my membership you people are crooks and I hope you go out of business. Very strange grips on the universal machine. Plenty of room on the walls to put a straight pull up bar. One of the cheapest, best, and effective pieces of equipment missing.

I am not sure how some of these reviews say how great the Staff is, the new Owners are great etc. I think the place is dirty, equipment is broken. Bottom line, simple recommendations- Staff should say hello and Good Bye to Members. they don't do that at all. New Manager (Deanna) just seems to want to say hello to only who she feels is "worthy" of her time. She is AWFUL-I hope that Eric Casaburi sees this and reacts. It is a real shame.

I actually go out of my way to frequent this club in Dix Hills. The things I enjoy most about this location is Management's desire to improve the club, the new class suite, & the revamped locker room. I also appreciate the broad range of classes that this location provides. New management and the fitness director/trainer are extremely competent.
The club is well equipped & the facilities are kept clean & maintained.

Went on a Sunday morning for the first time and it was a mess . Terrible use of space . All the benches and equipment were on top of each other even with large open spaces in the middle of the floor . Also no continuity of machines . To work shoulders I have to walk all over the gym . Need to have a better floor plan. Awesome potential though with selection of wquipment

Large good gym. Big selection of weightlifting and cardio equipment. Equipment is in pretty good shape but starting to show wear. Upkeep of cracked cushions could be better. Room with cardio and movie running is underutilized and could be put to better use. No pool, sauna steamroom, etc. Which is good. Keeps the gym population younger. There are some classes but I need nor want them. They inflate gym prices. $20 monthly fee is good but annual contract, annual "maintenance" fee and registration fee are very annoying, outdated and need to be dropped. Blink fitness is only $10 monthly membership and no contract or fees. Learn from that, retrofitness.

I came from out of state to visit my father in law who has been ill. I called Retro in Huntington, N.Y. to see how much it would be to work out for a week while I am visiting. They gave me a 3 day pass for free and then would charge me 10.00 dollars a day after that. What a great place. There was no BS orientation and tour unless I wanted it. I just want to thank this gym for being so accommadatting to me. There is no Retro Fitness where I live or else I would be happy to get a membership. Thanks again.

Dirty gym. Broken machines. I quit in March and had to pay 2 more months. Thought that was it but they never ended membership for me only my wife. Still trying to get money from me. Seems to be impossible if you try to quit. Still trying.

Comfortable and relaxed place. Non-pretentious. Equipment works. Easy to make quick machine adjustments. Good monthly fee. Relatively clean. Can get crowded, but not when I go on non-peak hours, M-F, 1-3 PM, when I rarely wait for equipment. Trainers and staff courteous and friendly. Clientele is a mix. 20's up to 60's. More men than women. All positive. Its a solid gym for the money.

Wasn't happy with the hours at my gym so went in for the free five day pass and ten dollar gift card they advertise to check it out. The girl who gave me the tour was nice enough but really just consisted of standing in a corner of the gym going "free weights are over there, the men's room is over there." Didn't go upstairs to see the cardio area at all. Took the pass so I couldn't use it for five days and didn't get the gift card. Other than that it's an OK gym, but I went at what was posted on Google as one of their least busy times and it was still quite busy. Busy enough that often free weights in weights I needed weren't available for long periods of time and twice I was asked to get off a machine for someone else to use it. I'm not usually on any one machine for more than a few minutes. Guess people there can't wait two minutes for a machine. Obviously I won't be going back.

This place is the worst! Please be aware do NOT sign any contract with them. Their cancelation policy is outrageous. They will charge you for an additional yearly fee plus service fee plus whatever months you have left in your contract. Also, this place smells awful and the machines and AC are always broke. They only care about making money and can't care less about customers satisfaction. Please stop stealing customers!

Weights are never cleaned. Trainers try to sleep with their clients. Overpriced shakes. OVER PACKED all day. No kettle bells. No room to dead lift. I was told I was not allowed to use to class room to box when it was not in use. Stand up tanning beds smell terribly

Easy to join. Impossible to leave even if you have a very good reason. Read every word of what you sign as they follow it to the letter. They charge two months plus the annual fee if it is within that time. They also charge to pause. No other local gym does that. And worst of all, if you owe them a dime they send you to collections. Terrible. And most of their members are students. They care far more about their monthly fees then if someone even used their gym.

I've had a good experience here, the machines run well, the weights area is pretty large and free weights are generally up for grabs. For cardio, I like the movie area, away from people and you can focus on the movie instead of a tiny tv screen on the upper deck. Its decently clean, though I've seen people leave machines and not clean them as well as found tissues or napkins in some of the holders. The only problem I've had came from my little sister who signed up for a plan and Retro would not cancel and continued to bill her account despite their 'deal', which meant she had to cancel her card and get angry calls from them about settling a balance she never asked for. Worth it if you're definitely a gym rat, not worth it if you're worried about being swindled out of money.

I love Retro Fitness. I have been going there religiously since the gym opened. The price has never gone up. Still $19.99 a month. All four of my daughters go there and my fiancé too. Before I met my fiancé I would meet first dates at the gym and have them work out with me! I even worked there at the front desk and in the child care room. It's like my second home!

This location is runned by morons, they locked me into a plan that I never agreed upon, the staff behind the counter are miss leading and would rather flirt with trainers instead of help people and provide factual information. Don't waste your money here, it's a teen club. I'm going at waste my money paying off a contract that I was unknowingly locked into for the next couple months. The new recumbent bikes are terrible! There appears to be no consistency between bikes, as to miles, etc., and the controls are difficult to reach; plus the TV (when it is working) does not go on automatically, and it goes off almost as soon as you are done; presumably to save electricity. If NY Sports Club comes down just a little bit in price, perhaps for seniors, I'm going back. It's closer, anyway. The staff is very nice, but ......... .

Plus, in case it isn't readily apparent, it appears that these gyms that charge a lower price make their profits by the folks who don't show up, but keep their membership.

I've been member of this GYM for 2 years now. although I'm on month-to-month payment agreement , they charged me 2 months plus an annual fee when I requested cancellation . These guys just try to steal from you as much as they can.
