I wouldn’t have wanted to grow up with another dance family. Rise is truly my favorite place and my second home. I have danced competitively there since I was in 3rd grade and now, a college graduate, I am always visiting and helping out when I can. This place gave me the best second family and dance experience I could’ve ever asked for.

I have been a teacher here for 9 years. They say do something you love and you will never work a day in your life. Truth is this is my second home and I spend anywhere from 35-40 hours monthly in this studio. I have worked at other studios and to be completely honest this is family. Whether you are staff, recreational or company students this is a feel good place. A place to feel safe and leave with a smile on your face. I maybe biases but teaching here is truly where I feel at home.
Last year my family went through what was the worst year yet. My 3 year old nephew was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer the night of my wedding, and my father past later in that year. Rise dance studio put together a toy drive for my nephew for Christmas, and when my father passed staff, parents, and students attended his wake. I am forever grateful to Val and all of Rise Dance Studios. Can’t say Id get that love and support anywhere else.

Unfortunately I can’t say we loved this place. If you have the type of toddler who is clingy, this is not the place for you. It will just stress you and your toddler out because they separate the kids from the parents. They have a little TV monitor in the hallway where the parents wait so you can see your child, but not all angles of the studio are able to be seen on it. And many of the little girls are crying for their moms the entire class. Which is understandable and age appropriate for them to be quite honest. Its was a waste of money for us But I only took her two times, and that was it. I decided her mental well being is more important than my money and didn’t take her back. If anything it has made her clingier than she used to be, because she always thinks I’m going to leave her. When I took ballet lessons as a kid the parents were allowed to stay on the bleachers and watch, and we were 6 year olds. These are 2 and 3 year olds we are talking about here. I gave them 2 stars because the dance teachers do put a lot of effort in, and maybe one day they will improve their system. I hate to leave a bad review, but this was just our honest experience.

I have been doing Zumba at this studio for the past 5 or 6 years . The workout is truly incredible . Valerie and Natalie are always keeping the workout fresh and challenging ! I have tried other classes at other gyms and NOTHING compares to their workouts ! The routines are amazing , and the toning exercises are awesome . Best hour of my day ! I tell everyone about rise dance studios ! And they always get hooked !

Enrolled my 4 year old daughter here in September and she loves it. She constantly tells and shows me what she did in dance class so I know she really enjoys it. Only reason they don't get 5 stars is that the main instructor for her 10am class constantly comes in 5-10 minutes late. The assistant is always there early prepping for class but we are paying good money for a specific service (and the teachers are being paid to perform that service), so I would expect the teacher to be there on time. Other than that, its great.

There is 1 word that describes Rise Dance Studio " DEDICATION" , Valerie and her staff are totally dedicated to making each and every student at rise have fun and love the art of Dance. My son has been dancing with Rise for 6 years, she has become more than a dance teacher/business owner, she is Family!! In the very beginning there were some issues with certain dance instructors, but Valerie always took the students best interest in hand and made the proper choices to make her dancing school excel. If you want your child to have fun and have a great learning experience Rise Dance Studio is the place to be!!!

Amazing is what comes to mind. They welcomed my teenaged daughter with open arms when we moved to Staten Island and knew no one. "The Studio" became her second home and family. They helped instill a sense of dedication and commitment and stayed by her side to help her make the dance team at UAlbany. This studio is more then a dance school. These teachers care about the whole child Not just the competition.

My daughter started at Rise Dance Studio when she was 5 years old. She has been there for 5 years now and loves every minute of it. She has had the best teachers. They are truly devoted to their students. The people there are not just teachers and classmates to her, they are her 2nd family. I have been able to watch my daughter grow into a wonderful dancer. The teachers teach the students about dedication, respect, and teamwork! I never felt that she was ignored or shown favoritism. This school is about the children. My daughter is in company and although they do work harder then a recreational class, she never feels stressed or overwhelmed. The teachers always encourages and never discourages.
