I’ve been to many Pilates studios for years some newer ones and some older ones in queens. A friend recommended Ruths Pilates 2 years ago and now I couldn’t recommend her enough. Recently hurt my back and needed to get my back stronger , she has helped so much with her knowledge and customized classes that target whatever I needed . Her classes are small and therefore more effective because of how much attention she can pay to each individual through the hour of the class. It’s more than just going through the motions for her…she pays attention to your form, your breathing, correct muscles targets! She has private classes that are very affordable and small groups at a rate that is very competitive. Tried larger groups elsewhere and you just don’t get someone who cares more and tries harder than Ruth. She has very extensive years in teaching Pilates and various licenses in osteoporosis, Pilates machine certifications, TRX and maternal fitness .

Ruth is an excellent teacher and you will learn a lot from her to improve your overall health. Ruth offers individual and small classes in groups of 4. This is what stands out re Ruth's instruction:
- Individual attention (even in groups)
- Classes are varied and never boring. I suggest you take the 2x/wk program. We start w/ TRX, balance, floor and bar work. Ruth varies each session w/ different props and good music. I love working on the reformer and trying all the new poses to improve strength & core. The yoga class is also excellent and has helped me so much.
- Classes are offered around the clock (early morning to evening, weekends too)
- Ruth focuses on: core work, strength training, breathing, balance, flexibility, coordination and much more. I have improved tremendously in functional abilities from taking this class. I started about a year ago and had never done Pilates. I could not do squats, lunges or any of the typical movements. I have learned a lot (and practice at home too). Now - I can keep up in all the classes I can do planks & squats ! Practically - I can carry more grocery bags, I can get up and off chairs (and the floor) so easily.
- You will meet so many great women of different ages and backgrounds. From young pregnant women in their 20s or 30s to women in their 70's - everyone benefits.
- Ruth tailors the class to each student's abilities and is very safety conscious so you can have full faith in her instructions.
This class is life altering - get prepared to feel good (and look good too)! Ruth deserves 10 stars !!!!

Taking classes with Ruth has been life changing. I had been fighting pain in my right knee for the past four years from a car accident. The doctors weren’t able to identify the source of the pain, and it remained even after many appointments and multiple steroid shots. After seven months of Pilates with Ruth, the pain disappeared, and I still can’t believe that I’m walking around pain-free. Now I go to classes not just to maintain my health, but also because my body feels great after every session. There’s always a different set of exercises that Ruth will challenge you with every time you go, and she will make sure you are doing them correctly. I recommend trying out her classes for a few months and seeing what difference they will make.

I practiced Pilates consistently before, however, I have been quite inconsistent over the last few years. I have been on a journey to find a new instructor and studio to restart my practice but I only came across large pilates chains which I was not interested in as I wanted a studio and instructor that focused on mind, body, and proper breathing and teaching the proper connection of body, mind, and breath.
One day during my search I decided to enter in the search 'top 10 pilates studio in Queens'. Ruth's Pilates and TRX came up in my search. The first attraction and selling point is that it is close to my home and I will be able to walk there and back in the Summer. I went to the website and I like that Ruth is specialized and a certified pilates professional and instructor with extensive experience which is evident in the way she conducts her sessions. Even in a group of four, you get individual attention including correction and adjustment to ensure proper form and you are making and feeling the connection between mind, body, and breath.
I see Ruth not only as an instructor but a 'teacher' because she is talented in the delivery, execution, application, and the detailed manner in which she imparts and communicates the Pilates techniques to her clients. She ensures that you first understand and then apply to ensure you get the form correctly. I love that she constantly challenges us and our bodies to change and do different things and is constantly changing the routine taking us out of our comfort zone to ensure our bodies get stronger and better. No two sessions are ever alike and so never gets boring or monotonous. Ruth keeps her classes interesting and challenging always meeting her clients at whatever stage they are at in their workout journey. Ruth is an excellent instructor who creates an environment of non-judgment, fun, patience, and motivation for her clients. I always come away feeling empowered, inspired, energetic, and motivated after her sessions. I love the fact that her classes are no larger than 4 people and she caters to women only which brings a certain level of comfort and openness. I have always loved Pilates and found that my body responds to it, Yoga and TRX well, and over the years have been the best way for me to get my body back in shape. I came to class with a sprained ankle which had been healing and I opted to do Pilates only and no additional physical therapy. I have not had any issues with my ankle since as it is mostly healed and I know that Pilates is a great contributor to my ankle healing and without physical therapy. Ruth cares about her clients and encourages them to do only as much as their bodies will allow them to do. I love Ruth Pilates and I am happy I found the teacher and instructor I found in Ruth. 🤗

Ruth is an amazing Pilates and TRX instructor! After I recovered from major spinal surgery a year ago, I was apprehensive about what type of exercise I would be able to safely do, other than walking. I had exercised in gyms for decades, but suddenly was unsure of what to do in them for fear of injuring myself even after a substantial amount of physical therapy sessions. It was then my spinal surgeon and PCP suggested I try Pilates with a reformer to strengthen my core. After meeting with Ruth, I was assured I was in competent hands and it would absolutely help me become stronger and more confident doing Pilates and TRX. I decided to take private sessions with Ruth. Fast forward almost three months later - everyone that sees compliments me on my transformation - even at this early stage! This an amazing community of women. Women of all ages come together to take Ruth's classes. Unlike other studios u don't feel like your on display. Highly recommend to take Pilates with Ruth. She is amazing, authentic, positive, knowledgeable who puts her whole heart into training. Ruth is an excellent instructor. Her expertise experience and knowledge with constant oversight and corrections to right breathing and posture during the class make a difference. Always feel better after I am finished with the class.

I wanted to try a fitness regimen that wasn’t the typical gym experience. As a novice, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to keep up the routines. But Ruth is constantly assessing you, modifying or pushing you as needed. The classes are challenging, and never boring. I’m noticing an increase in my strength and endurance. This studio is a gem, and I’m glad I found it!

Ruth is great! I started a while back and I was totally new to TRX and the Pilates reformer. Ruth was patient with me and taught me how to use everything. She is constantly paying attention to each person in the group to ensure they are in correct form so no one gets hurt. I even went to Ruth’s classes while pregnant and I was confident that all the modifications she made for me were safe and beneficial for me. I am thrilled to have a place like this to help me stay in shape.

I found Ruth's class through a random google search for pilates classes in Queens. I had done TRX only once before but I have had a couple years of training in pilates before I went in and I had used the reformer before many times. I was also very out of shape at the moment when I started! IRuth worked with me really well and was good at showing me how to hold my body correctly (and build that muscle memory back up!). I specifically enjoyed that her classes are small (2-3 people usually) so you really get that personal trainer feel. I really enjoyed her classes and I highly recommend her as a teacher.

Ruth is the best, amazing teacher! Compared to other pilates classes, Ruth’s class is very much detail oriented, focused and personalized. Trx and reformer combined class is just fun and effective. Ruth is Extremely passionate and enthusiastic in teaching and very consistent. Ever since i started her class, i feel much stronger , more energetic and fit in general. I feel very lucky that i found her !!
