Then we met Ms. Sam at Saf-T-Swim Coram, and everything changed.

When I tell you my heart sings seeing my daughter in the water now — I mean it! She’s smiling, floating, kicking, and doing things I honestly never thought she’d do this soon. Ms. Sam has this perfect mix of patience and motivation that makes my child want to try her best without even realizing how much she's learning.

We can't say enough great things about Saf-T-Swim Coram. We've been coming here for over 5 years now. The peace of mind that we have as parents knowing that both of our kids are so confident in the water is priceless. It's a lifelong skill that they will always have.

The instructors here are professional, compassionate, and caring all at the same time. Miss Joan has had a hand in setting the foundation for both of our kids to become successful swimmers. While Miss Emma has taken our son Nick to an entirely new level of proficiency. Now all we need to do is convince him to start competing on the swim team!!

The management staff, especially Kim, has been unbelievably accommodating with our constantly changing schedule while we try to juggle swimming with every other sport played by our kids! Rescheduling is never an issue.

Finally, the facility has recently been updated and modernized making it a first class swimming facility. It's always clean and comfortable to help parents relax for a half hour!

We LOVE Miss Joan!!!! She is truly exceptional. Our 4 year old was new to swim lessons and had a difficult time adjusting. When he began lessons with Miss Joan she made him feel comfortable right away, while also earning his trust and learning his personality. After a few weeks she knew when to push him to try more, and when to go at his pace. She is remarkable with her ability to read his mood while also teaching him and encouraging him to keep going! All of the staff at the Coram location are helpful, kind and caring. They go out of their way to work with you to ensure everything is a good fit for the student and family. We can't say enough about how wonderful Saf-T Swim is on every level. The swimming instruction is exquisite and the hand-picked staff strikes just the right balance between being able to effectively motivate your children to the maximum of their ability while knowing intuitively about where the thresholds of comfort reside. Our daughter was cared for, protected, made to feel important and heard, all while being encouraged to do her best and not put in a distracted or partial effort. This is a direct result of the considerable skill and compassionate character of the instructors on staff.

Management at Saf-T (we are at Coram working with the affable Zack and Kim) have solved every scheduling snafu, emergency illness, or other curve ball that has come our way since we began. They have individually worked with me and my wife to make sure our daughter was placed in the right class and that with regard to the private and semi private lessons we've scheduled, we'd get the most out of these and that they'd always be scheduled at a time that was convenient in light of the group lessons in which she is enrolled. This is the opposite of other swim instruction establishments where you can't get Management on the phone, or when you do your problem remains unsolved or ignored. Individualized attention at Saf-T Swim.

Finally, the facility at Coram itself is fantastic: exactly what a caring parent would want: spotlessly clean, plenty of room for students in the pool, ample viewing space through big windows, perfect and inviting bathroom, shower, and changing facilities. We look forward to coming because of the space we are in when we arrive.

Swimming lessons are expensive so it is important that it is worth the money. Saf-T Swim clears the bar of this high standard with lots of room to spare. We are thrilled to be here and are going to continue until our daughter reaches the highest level.

The best Saf T Swim location on the island! It’s always super clean and the environment is always welcoming. Kim and Zack are professionals to say the least. The both of them work continuously to make sure that everything is running smoothly and treat everyone that walks through the doors with respect. The client that I bring in to swim is diagnosed with autism and can be a bit challenging at times. His instructor Joan is so patient with him and is a phenomenal instructor as well. She taught him how to swim and now we’re comfortable with him at our own pool because of the skills he developed. I can’t say enough about how pleased I am with the Saf T Swim Coram location! 😀

I cannot praise Saf-T-Swim Coram highly enough—especially for adults tackling a lifelong fear of the water. After nearly drowning as a child, I’d avoided deep water entirely and never learned to swim. Determined to change that, I signed up for a free trial lesson…and instantly fell in love with their teaching system.

From day one, Ms. Jones and Emma made me feel completely at ease. Their patient, step-by-step approach focused on building confidence rather than rushing through strokes. We started in the shallow end, mastering breath control then gradually moved deeper as my comfort grew.

Thanks to just four formal lessons and countless hours of practice in my own backyard pool, I can now swim confidently—something I never imagined possible. While I only needed four lessons to get the basics down, I would recommend planning for additional sessions if you’d like to refine your technique or tackle more advanced skills. I took weekdays evening class since there is less people during that time.

Beyond the top-notch instruction, the facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and set up perfectly for adult learners. The staff’s professionalism and genuine care transform what could be an intimidating experience into one of the greatest pleasures of human life—gliding freely through the water. Thanks to Jack and Kim as well.

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience last monday with one of the lifeguards was unacceptable. From the moment we arrived, the lifeguard on duty was giving us dirty looks for no apparent reason. It made the environment really uncomfortable, not just for my family.
What really upset me was when I asked a simple question about pool rules, and the lifeguard snapped back with a rude comment telling me to “go somewhere else” if I didn’t like it. This kind of attitude is completely unprofessional—especially in a place meant for families and kids.
Even more concerning was how little this lifeguard seemed to care about the other kids around. Instead of watching the pool and ensuring safety, they were more focused on being dismissive and cold.
I don’t expect five-star service at a community pool, but basic respect and professionalism should be the bare minimum—especially from someone responsible for public safety. Definitely disappointed, and I hope management addresses this.

7 months ago I gave Saf T Swim of Coram 5 stars (only because of a few staff members) not for the company itself. The facility is clean, management is horrible. It’s a revolving door for the manager position at this location. The newest manager Zach, he’s horrible. Not friendly, has no idea what he’s doing and to top it off, let go one of the best swim instructors Vicky for over 10 years! They put my daughter who was improving with Vicky with someone who barely knew what they were doing before consulting me. I am paying over $250 a month, I should have an opinion who my daughter swims with and what their level of teaching is. We have now left, today our last day. Very sad because we will miss Nicole and Makenna very much who coached the swim team. My advice would be to look into Three Village Swim or Sachem Swim. You will get far more lesson/swim team time for a fraction of the cost. It’s very sad it came to this, we have been with Saf T Swim for over 4 years, but there’s no consistency with them anymore except that the prices still keep going up. It is apparent that the only goal for this location has become quantity over quality. They lost several swimmers in just a week for a horrible decision based on complaints that were bought. 😡

Our son Bryce began swimming with Nicole in April 2021 and we couldn’t be happier. He has made tremendous progress and has become a different child in the water. It has been a pleasure to watch him increase his confidence and skills weekly and he continues to amaze us with all that he is doing. Nicole has taken a child who was nervous and anxious in the water and turned him into a confident and happy emerging swimming. Nicole has shown extreme patience, kindness and determination while working with Bryce. It is evident every week that she loves coming to work and teaching others the skills needed to swim. We have been coming to Safety Swim in Coram since 2015. My daughter Samantha started lessons with Victoria a few years later and quickly advanced levels. My son Matthew started lessons with Victoria when he was a little over a year old in the beginning of 2020. Then the pandemic hit and we didn’t return to Safety Swim until July 2020. My daughter ended lessons when she achieved level seven and my son is currently still going. He absolutely loves it and has progressed so well because of Victoria’s professionalism and willingness to push my son in a healthy and consistent manner. My husband and I believe our son Matthew is in the best hands possible and we couldn’t be happier with having Victoria as his swim instructor!

My son LOVES coming to swimming lessons! We started when he was an infant with the Baby & Me classes, and this year started the one-on-one classes. For both classes we had Joan as our instructor and she is awesome! She makes my son feel so comfortable and has taught him so much. Kim and the entire management team has been great as well. They were very reassuring when we first started 1on1 and my son would scream the whole time, and are very helpful and accommodating when we’ve needed help. Lastly, we love the new facility. It’s so clean, open, and airy now and makes watching the lessons so much more comfortable. I would recommend for kids of all ages!

We have been going to the Coram SafTSwim since April 2021 so about a year and a half now and we have loved it so far. The remodel they just did makes a HUGE difference, it’s bright and cool and comfortable. We looked into other swim places in Suffolk county just to see what else was available and honestly for the price and quality, SafTSwim can’t be beat. We do miss Miss Val and Vinny at Coram but Miss Vicky has been a God send to our 2 1/2 (who started at 6 months) and 4 year old (who started when he was 21 months old). Our kids are confident, not just in the pool, but in all they do, and we firmly believe it is partially because of the skills they learn in the water. And not just the instructors in the water are great, but also the front end staff, especially Miss Kim, who always greets us with a smile and positive attitude- she’s personable and warm and all in all, every experience there has been a good one. Highly recommend SafTSwim especially if you want some peace of mind in the water.

My son has been swimming with Saf-T-Swim for some time and absolutely loves it. At this point we feel like family when we walk in! Victoria always greets us with a big hello and smile and is always ready to help. His instructor, Emma, is patient with him each week and continually encouraging! He also participated in the swim clinic this summer and although he's the youngest, Nicole continues to work with him each week and never let's him give up! Everyone there is amazing, but what really encouraged me to finally write a review was the time, energy and support that Victoria, Nicole and Emma have put into helping us decide how to move forward with competitive swimming and giving us options and ways to continue to encourage our boy and his love of swimming. I've been very disappointed with this location. Im not sure if it's the business or location to be honest... I had many instances where my daughters instructor wasn't available, which cancelled my appointment, sometimes within an hour or 2 of my class schedule. The new update with the app lost all my make ups, ones the location knew were supposed to be no expiration, they "tired" to fix but couldn't after going back and forth. The switch to the app also logged me as there in December, which we weren't, they said they would correct. I don't believe they have. She got sick a lot over the winter so we decided to pause and the manager of this location at the time was going to work on getting her a more seasoned instructor, and have her restart in March. I never heard from him and when I called he was gone and no one knew anything about this. At the end of it all a nice lady Lisa said she was working with corporate to get me a refund for the balance due to my experience there. I went back and forth for several weeks. Now months later I still have no refund. I don't want to log into the app, because the last time I did that we were charged a class we didn't attend.

Very disappointed don't come here. They really don't care about your child learning to swim, from my experience with the instructors.

I was a new member. My two daughters attended swimming class over there. We made a 8 class deal with these guys. I paid the half of the price before the classes starts. We took some classes then they called me that the price increased, they switched my course to monthly one without my permission and tried to get high fee. I got very upset, one of my friend recommended this swimming course but this is a big disappointment for me. The management is so weak, they don’t know their records. I will never ever send my children to this course again.

Nice friendly staff. My son has been going there for about Year now. He has improved soo much. The two primary instructors I have experience with were Maria who got him started and Alex took over. Great instructors with experience.

Saf-T-Swim has given my boys the tools they need to stay safe in the water. At only 2 and 4 years old, I am amazed at what they have accomplished so far! There is no better feeling than knowing your children will be safe when they are in the water.

Saf-T-Swim is a remarkable place to have your children learn to swim. My daughter Milania has been going to the Coram location fo about 10 months straight with more and more progress every week. She has started when she was only 2 years old and now just turned 3 with confidence and skill that I could have never imagined a 3 year old could obtain from going to swim lessons at a early age. JIMMY is the main reason for the success my daughter has accomplished through his love for teaching and patience. Jimmy not only is a great teacher but great with my daughter and other students of all ages I have personally witnessed. Milania looks forward to swim lessons at the Coram location every week with Mr. JIMMY. She has progressed so much over the short time and loves the water. Having a pool at our home my main concern was for my daughter to be able to swim and not be afraid. Saf T Swim has provided that safety net for my wife and I. Staff are accommodating and friendly and other instructors all look like they LOVE their job . The place is CLEAN and well maintained. Blast music the entire time - doesn’t make for a great learning environment. My daughter can barely hear what the teacher is saying. Even the teacher complained that the music was too loud! When I asked them to turn it down, it was a big deal. They acted as if they are doing me a favor allowing my child to attend lessons there. I’m paying for lessons, and they should be more accommodating. My nephew has autism and had to leave because the loud music was bothering him so much. They rarely have any makeup times, which makes it impossible to make up a session if your child is sick or unable to go to a lesson. If I wasn’t in a contract already, I would be somewhere else.

Not a bad place. Just signed up for baby and me. Had 2 classes already. Its not just your and your class in the pool. Another class or lessons is happening around you and you have to yell to talk to eachother and the instructor has to yell. When youre swimming you have to make sure not to crash into other people in the pool that arent in your class. Our instructor is super nice and great with babies. The place is clean and staff seems nice. We will probably continue and do lessons in the future.
