So okay, yes, you can’t really never get to see yourself because either someone is in front of you or behind you, also I been into other studios and usually the one giving the class keeps checking on you,Ashley did make sure I was doing everything right and also the rest of the class. Staff at the desk was also nice. Keep in mind that they only have 2 restrooms ,a changing room and a water filter, inside the restroom they have a bunch of stuff for you to retouch yourself, but would be nice to see showers here though, also so far from all the studios around Manhattan I have been to,they do not have showers, guessing that’s “normal”? Not sure, but I will still come back here now and then,Ashley did make me sweat!

Love this establishment! I always had a hard time staying consistent so finding SLT has been great for me. The location is clean, the front desk staff is always lovely, and the instructors are great. Brad is my absolute favorite, his classes are the best.

My friends and I had the absolute best time here! The class was for all levels, and it was perfect for us with a little more experience and for people who had never done a class like this before. Our instructor was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable, and made sure our form was correct in order to prevent injuries :)

For spending nearly $400/month for a founding membership you would think that this studio could adequately stock clean towels. It’s wild to pay this much for a place without showers, let alone a studio without enough towels. Have attended numerous classes that didn’t have any available for the entire class. Tends to happen on weekends and at end of day classes. Otherwise the instructors and classes are great!

I absolutely love SLT and have been a client (and formally an instructor) for nearly 2 decades. I was thrilled when they re opened on the upper UWS. Some of my favorite instructors there are Bridget, Brad, Laney, Sean and Shea but there are many others who are fantastic! If you’re new, Sammy has been teaching there the longest and is phenomenal with new clients, and Meg and Ryan are also great when they teach here, (but it’s rare).

I do have one big issue with this studio though — the machines are in 2 rows that are *not staggered*. This means that no matter where you are in class, you will not be able to see yourself in the mirror 50% of the time due to the person immediately in front of you blocking your view. This is such an easy fix and was so foolish of SLT to set up their studio this way. I have complained and heard others complain and SLT seems not to take these complaints seriously, but it actually does affect the client experience in class! The mirror is there to give us feedback on our form so we can make adjustments and keep our bodies safe and efficient. Also, they run out of towels often and that’s just poor planning. I’m hoping they fix these small things in a timely manner because the studio has worlds of potential!

As always, you can expect a fantastic workout with a knowledgeable instructor who will guide you through the class. The modality is safe on the body because it is non-impact and SLT takes great pride in training their instructors to follow responsible workout plans that fatigue but don’t abuse your body.

SLT is a major asset for us to have on the Upper UWS so I hope they work out these kinks and can be the best studio possible in that space. I’m a SLT lifer and am absolutely rooting for them!!

The vibe here is really weird.

So I had wanted to sign up for the founding members sessions and you’d get a good deal for 4 classes per month for like $138 . I sent In a request for info online twice, then never got an email.

So then I decided to try and sign up in person. I walked to the studio and first off it’s not an open and welcoming studio. Like you have to ring a door bell and the receptionist though the door looks up and presses a button to unlock the door. It’s like extra security? But your on the UWS, one of NYC’s richest and most posh neighborhoods with kids and families where barely anything and happens. It seemed silly to me to have to wait until someone lets you in.

Then I was talking to the receptionist and she was like “oh the online founding member classes are limited to only a certain number of people. They’re sold out, but you can buy regular classes for the regular price.” I kinda wish they would take that off their website then. Or like say those were sold out online.

The whole vibe here is strange… I’m usually a solid core girl and wanted to try something new but this doesn’t seem to be for me.
