I think they’ve forgotten the real practice of Pilates… it’s so fast and crazy and impossible to do

Truly a great workout for your core. I understand some of the negative reviews as the classes are fast paced and take place in a darkroom. I would recommend beginners to take multiple intro classes as instructors are much more hands on and lead classes at a slower pace. Taking a regular class with zero reformer experience is not recommended.

Contrary to some of the reviews, I had a wonderful experience at solidcore. Francesca was super welcoming and gave me a quick rundown of what to expect at the studio, and Sarah did me a solid with the outer glutes workout. Her cues and demo were clear and went around correcting our form. Intense but totally recommend!

Absolutely amazing class with head coach Ambre. She’s attentive and good about correcting your form throughout the class. Intense, rewarding and worth it - if you have the chance to book with her, do it!

I've been coming here on a weekly basis for the last 2 years and have had a very positive experience. All the instructors I've taken classes with are very nice and welcoming, the app is easy to use, and the workout is definitely effective. Would recommend!

I get it's probably the policy, but I think it's strange to provide a key code to let yourself into the studio when you arrive early but it doesn't work until 15 mins prior to the class, especially in the WINTER. There's also a buzzer with an intercom, but a group of us was ignored until 14 mins before the start of the class and allowed in finally. The atmosphere feels like a pilates mill / v corporate that doesn't focus on cultivating a safe and welcoming space... or clean. The reformers are not cleaned well.

I enjoyed the class itself and the instructor was great.

I've been doing Pilates Reformer for over four years and decided to give Solidcore a shot, but honestly, it fell short of expectations. The atmosphere is intense, but not in a good way. The music is so loud you can barely hear the instructor, making it hard to follow instructions or adjust form. Without clear guidance, it’s easy to get lost in the class, which also ups the risk of injury—I actually felt strain in areas that have never been a problem with Reformer.

Compared to traditional Pilates Reformer, Solidcore feels more like an attempt to be high-energy than an actual workout focused on form and body alignment. For anyone looking to build strength safely and effectively, I’d recommend sticking with Pilates Reformer. It’s a better workout that truly works with your body, not against it.

Absolutely killer workout. However, the machines smell like dirty feet.

The lady at the check in was super helpful and accommodating. She sorted us after we had issues booking on ClassPass. The class was great, coach Emily was superb - very clear and helped with form

Not for me. Compared to other pilates type classes where you get to work out your whole body, felt like this one mostly had sets that focused on 3 parts of the body. And the instructor didn't do the exercises for both sides of the body. I prefer sets where I can do on the left side AND the right side. It makes me feel imbalanced not to have that. overall a good workout, but felt pretty fast paced and might not be good for a beginner. Low variety of exercises but high intensity. Didn't feel too friendly of a spot. Meh.

Now here comes to the worst Pilates experience..

Imagine Pilates in Barry’s Bootcamp but with awful blue light, no precision, no form correction, with trashy machine and ur just guessing what to do in the dark listening to instructions lost in some loud lame music. Didn’t feel safe

Form > everything, and you just can’t do it in the dark…

Most lockers are broken and they don’t have towels…

Was 7 minutes late to class but they refused to let me in even though I had a reservation and there were 8 spots open. Other solidcore location staff are much nicer than the Nolita location.

Unless you have experience on reformer machines doing traditional Pilates to the point where you've mastered your form, I would not recommend this. I didn’t have experience so the class was difficult and scary. There is little to no focus on form and no stretching, only a "warm up" which involves difficult plank work for a few minutes. The next day I woke up with a neck strain - I can barely sit at my desk, walk, and can't move my neck in one direction without excruciating pain.

Pretty bummed about this class. The instructor never corrected my form, or anyone’s form, or modeled what the exercises should look like. I could have seriously injured myself on that machine without proper guidance. Would not recommend this class in the slightest!
