I’ve been taking the prenatal yoga classes at Soul Work and loving them! Both of the prenatal yoga teachers are also doulas, so the prenatal yoga classes are prenatal yoga/birth prep classes. The Tuesday/Thursday morning classes are taught by Aquila and are more physically challenging, including lots of positions that are meant to both support the pregnancy and to prepare for the labor process. The Friday evening classes are taught by Nyota and are more relaxing, still with lots of positions that are relevant to needs in pregnancy and in labor. Both classes are excellent, and the whole studio’s energy is very warm, welcoming, friendly, and community-focused. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem!! I love that each class offers a mix of mind and body work. So rarer to find at most studios. The owners put their heart and SOUL into making this a place for anyone and everyone(they even remember your name and take time to always greet you ). It’s a judgement free zone filled with kind people. I’m super grateful!

Anti-vax and completely incompetent, rude owner!

I and 5 other people showed up for an 8:30 AM class today, the studio was not yet open. I waited 15 minutes and no one ever came. I called multiple times to contact the owner, who did not pick up. I just called again at 9:45 to let the owner know what happened (including the fact that another student told me this has happened to her before) and the owner immediately became abrasive and rude to me. It’s shocking to be spoken to this way when I was genuinely just trying to let her know that an instructor has repeatedly no-showed for a class - I have no idea why she became upset with me for just letting her know. I understand that things can happen and instructors are human, so to be spoken to the way she spoke to me was so shocking when I did not come at her with that energy.

Looking at the studio’s website, I see in the About section the owner openly admits to getting fired from her teaching position at an NYC public school because she refused to get fully vaccinated. Horrifying that a person like this owns a “wellness” business in our neighborhood.

Don’t waste your time or risk your health coming here. This business does not respect its customers and you’d be better off supporting a business that does.

Such an amazing yoga studio with equally amazing teachers! After my first class, I knew I wanted to become a monthly member. The energy here is so warm and welcoming, and there’s a wonderful variety of classes and teaching styles, each one unique and special in its own way.
I’ve truly found a sense of community with the other members who share this space. The classes evolve beautifully throughout the year, aligning with the seasons and the different energies we all experience. This isn’t a place filled with large egos, it’s a safe, inclusive space for beginners and people of all walks of life. The instructors provide thoughtful guidance and tools that make even the newest yogis feel welcome, confident, and capable of reaching their goals and intentions.
I’m so grateful to be part of this amazing community and truly believe it’s a space for everyone. The classes are always challenging in the best way, leaving me feeling stronger, grounded, and inspired every time.

I’m going to admit I was not a yoga girl at all, until I found this studio, now I have a membership and go at least 4 days a week. In other yoga studios I always felt uncomfortable because I wasn’t as “good” or as flexible as everyone else and that always made me never go back. I first attended yoga in the park with my friend and I loved it. The instructor gave us cues that just clicked with me. Even on the every day poses that I think instructors can take for granted that everyone knows already. I felt accepted with my skills as they were and I felt supported to continue practicing. So much so that I joined. If you want a studio with great diverse teaching styles and are already confident with your yoga then this is for you. If you want a studio that you can just walk into without any real skills then this studio is ALSO for you. And that is what makes soul works so awesome. It truly is a studio for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE. I am seriously so thankful that Aquila and Darwin created such an amazing space for the community and I am so lucky that I get to be a tiny part of it.

The Bhakti class was the perfect way to start my day - it was connective, energizing, and playful. The practice reminded me to move with grace, care, and joy.

The Yin class was amazing - it let me reflect on my devotion to practice of self-knowing and sacred integration. While holding poses I shed tears, able to let my body finally release.

Thank you Aqila for reminding me to lead with spirit rooted in creation <3

the absolute BEST yoga studio!!! about 8 months ago, i started looking for a studio in my area that clicked. soul work was maybe the fourth studio that i tried, and i’ve been coming ever since! aqila is one of the most down to earth, warm, kind people you will ever meet. the energy in the studio is so welcoming and makes me feel at home. i’ve taken many classes with different instructors, and each one has been so rewarding. (classes ive taken include: vinyasa, bhakti, slow flow, yin, yogalates, healing balm) soul work also offers some really cool events, often outside at Saratoga park. i love how a lot of the monthly special classes have to do with astrology. definitely come check out this studio, you will not regret it!! 🧘🏻‍♀️💗

The class was great! I happened to be the only one who attended so I had the benefit of a one-on-one class!

Kayla was patient and understood my limitations and experience level. I will be purchasing a membership so I can take classes more frequently. This studio is a neighborhood treasure. I sincerely hope they continue to bless us with its beautiful, peaceful space and lovely energy!

I've been coming here for a little over two months now, and it's such a warm and inviting community space. Every teacher has their own style and I've learned so much from them, but I regularly especially attend Kayla's and Aqila's classes.

This is the first time I've felt committed and connected to a physical practice and I really appreciate Soul Work for being a space that welcomes people of all identities wherever they are in their yoga journey!

I came here for Queer Pilates, which was a private event. The owners of the venue were present and I found them to be pleasant and kind people. The studio looks like it was once a storefront but there was enough room to accommodate a large class. They provide mats and cleaner but I used my own. I'm looking forward to making time to book some regular classes there!

I had an impromptu class with Aquila (whom I later discovered is one of the founders) and it was such an amazing class. It was so healing, affirming and most importantly the energy of the space felt SAFE. I’m not sure there’s any other place like this in the community for POC. I look forward to coming back!

An amazing experience that helped me to connect to myself and ancestors in a meaningful way! The space itself radiates joy, ease, play, and intention. From the altar, to the colors, the smell, the music selection, and of course the owners. This is a beautiful calming wellness space that I can see myself visiting again and again.

All of the instructors bring warmth to the space and it has quickly become my sanctuary and a place of spiritual learning and healing. I really love seeing each instructors personality come out through their teaching practice and I also have to add that the music selection is immaculate. I’ve been here nearly every day since I’ve joined. I appreciate all the classes offer a mix of mind, body, and heart. I haven’t taken a class that I didn’t enjoy or gain something from.

I took a workshop with Aqila, which a 3-part class, a mix of yoga, intention-setting, and oracle guidance. I honestly think I could listen to her speak and teach for hours. Also she teaches a doggy+yoga class that I’m hoping to day one of these Fridays when I’m not working.

A special mention to Ashley’s dream soul flow class on Monday evenings. It is out of this world—literally. The extended savasana teleported me into a meditative state that I did not know I needed til I experienced it. If you’re needing to disconnect from the city and find some stillness, this is the class.

I have an immense amount of gratitude for having access to this studio and the addition of it in and for the community.

Everyone made the experience from walking up to the studio all the way to leaving very intentional, peaceful, and very calming to the nervous system.
