Called multiple times on multiple occasions of different days and nobody ever picks up the phone. Iβve been calling to see how much a daily pass is and if they have a sauna. Today i called again and finally somebody answered. It was buffering a bit and then next thing i know im getting cursed out for no apparent reason. Clearly have immature roid heads at the front desk who get upset over nothing . DO BETTER

This is the only review you need, the gym is expensive there is no denying that, it' 100 a month, but the machines are high quality, insane machines 3 different hacksquats, 3 flat bench press machines tons of benches and other chest machines, all the machines are divided into their own sections, cardio, legs, chest, back, biceps, glutes, abs, and more, all metal weights and some machines that use rubber weights, boxing ring that can be use to pose, sauna I'm unsure if it works i have personally not used it, it's never full, at most there is 20 to 40 people at the same time and that to me would be considered "packed", there is a lot of friendly people, all willing to help, that owner Gene is kinda weird at times when he smokes, but he is a nice person always smiles and if you are corteus to him he will be corteus with you also, respect=respect, they are very strict with putting the weights and handles back were they belong, and the gym and aesthetic of the color is top, the only thing i would say it's missing is if it was 24 hours, that would make it the best gym without a doubt, still great gym and has some things to improve, overall i give it 4.5 stars. The gym is 100% worth it if you are serious about the gym and growing.

Really good gym, everyone is serious about their workout and re-racks their weights. You never have to wait for a machine and things are exactly where theyre supposed to be. The Owner on the other hand is a total jerk off. You would think he would appreciate a paying customer giving his gym business, but not this guy, he doesnβt even acknowledge you when you walk in. Hell, even when you initiate saying hello its almost like he just doesnβt even wanna talk. Very stubborn person. I wasnβt going to leave a review at first but i came here and saw many people had the same perspective of him, great gym, just needs new ownership.

The equipment is good and the people there are nice however there are few problems with this gym. 1:The owners or whoever works there smokes cigars in the gym, and imagine taking a big deep breath for squats, and all you inhale is the cigar smoke. Definitely contradicting the whole purpose of trying to be healthy if you're smoking in a gym. 2: I often did not feel welcomed in the gym the owner seemed suspicious of me not putting my weights away even though I did, and he always seemed on edge and aggressive. 3. When canceling my membership I had to pay extra to cancel it which is a bummer since you are already paying so much for this gym. They donβt appreciate people who slam the weights for deadlifts and people who are influencers who like recording their workouts which is understandable and I respect that if thatβs their rule. However those three reasons are why I left this gym about a year ago.

This gym is by far the best Iβve ever been a member of. Members understand how to be courteous and thoughtful.
Weights are always back on racks.
Every pc of equipment imaginable!
Owner, Gene truly understands how to run a gym.

Sparta Gym is by far the best gym on the east coast and maybe creeping up on the west coast. My buddy Gene whoβs the owner has the top workout equipment. Bianca whoβs a brilliant gym instructor takes her time with each individual to demonstrate the safety and how to use each machine properly. When you enter Sparta gym you see the red interior and all the different machines all coordinate in color. In Sparta Gym you never have to wait for any machine's. Sparta gym is a bodybuilders gym, no rubber weights all steel. Gene makes sure that all of his patrons dress in the best Sparta gear for workout and to wear casual for both male and female. Donβt take my word for it, come see for yourself. Sparta Gym is one of the only gyms that has a boxing ring and we donβt stop there, they have the protein drinks for your needs

A gatekeeper's gym. I was intrigued to visit due to great things I heard about sparta. Travelled almost an hour to get here, when I arrive I was told I couldn't workout due to not having an ID on me. Ready to pay the daily fee and all. What gym turns down a potential customer for not having an ID.

This is a unique gym. They operate on a mutual foundry of respect for others, the rules, and the space itself. It's an atmosphere made for people who are serious about lifting, and not about socializing.

As their shirts says, this is the gym of gyms. The owner is a knowledgeable and good guy who takes the time to show all newcomers the best way to use the gym to get the results they want. Machines are constantly updated with new high end ones introduced regularly. I canβt say enough good things about this place. If youβre serious about lifting then this is the gym you want to go to.

Went to the Island for Thanksgiving and found this gym for the first time. I was blown away by the amount of awesome equipment and being 10 am on a Wednesday it was practically empty. The owner Gene was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! He showed me two pieces of equipment that I've never seen before and they made for an amazing workout. I found my new home gym on the Island. Great Gym. Highest possible rating!

I don't understand how this place can stay in business with the horrible staff and owner. The most uninviting rude individuals I've ever met. As soon as I talked to them on the phone I knew it was bad but I went in just to see, they are just as bad if not worse in person unless you're willing to pay an insane sign up fee then a high monthly. Also because they seem so desperate to hide prices for 1 month was quoted $140. Please go anywhere else.

This place is a complete SCAM. My bro tried to sign up for a month and was told it was $140. What's so special about this gym that it costs 140??? The only good thing he said was that there wasn't a lot of people. Not worth 140 dollars AT ALL! Ridiculous
Not only that, it hasn't even been a month yet and my brother got his membership card taken away! "yOuR MEmBeRshIp hAs ENdeD"
It's really amazes me how you can take money just like that without any remorse. This businesses is disgusting I hope no one else even thinks of joining so they don't experience this disgusting excuse of a business.
Btw the staff was very rude and came with attitude because they had to answer questions π
And of course they don't address any negative reviews here. They don't care they are just money and power hungry.

Called in to see what the price for a membership is and was told rudely that they'll only tell me if I go there in person. What kind of bussiness can't tell you the cost to join? Heard the owner was rude as well from multiple people and that they don't tell you the price over the phone because they have a ridiculous initiation fee and other hidden ones. Just because you buy a bunch of random equipment doesn't mean you can run a successful gym by being rude to potential customers. I'm heading over to Bev Francis Powerhouse in Syosset even though it's an extra 10 minute drive. The lady at the front was very sweet when I called and told me the prices right off the bat, no messing around and no gatekeeping. Also only heard good things about the owner. Hope this place goes out of bussiness so they can be bought out by someone who knows how to run a bussiness.

Have to say, I see lots of good reviews on this place but my experience was less than that. I walked in few days ago, Looking to possibly join up....since last time I was a member of a gym was back in March, onyx in bellmore. The owner, I'm assuming, was extremely uninterested in my inquiry and gave me a very high price of $200 down and $65 per month! I realize gyms have taken a hit with pandemic and all but that price is way more than I was Looking to pay. I've trained at tons of gyms in past from super hardcore to commercial and the owner acted like he couldn't care less for my business....didn't offer me a tour of place, ask me any questions, nothing. So, I obliged and walked out...highly unimpressed. Not to mention place was empty. I have decent equipment at home and was just looking for gym ro supplement for couple times per week. I'm headed to crunch in bellmore for $20 month and very comparable equipment. Unless money is no object and you're ready for an owner who clearly doesn't want/care or need your business, then I'd skip Sparta for a gym that wants your business.

The lady in the morning along, I believe Felicia with her young boy co worker, have a great sense of humor. They are fun to be around & Keep the Place clean.

This is the best gym I have ever been too. It has all of the equipment you need and the people that work out there are very friendly and courteous. It is clean and spacious. I can't say enough about how much I like this gym. The only negative is the type of music they play. I bring my headphones.....

Really bad experience here.
I walked in the gym after looking at the website and seeing that they offered a free 3-day pass to try the gym. I asked the guy at the front if I could use a day pass to try the gym. He asked if I had a "town ID". I told him I had just moved so no, my ID was from another state. He told me the day pass is only for people with "town ID" and that they "don't do walk-ins." He said I could train for a $10 fee so I handed him cash, and he gave me a towel and told me I have to wipe down any machines I use. Ok.
The gym was practically empty and they had tv's all over the gym playing a pirated copy of Skyfall. I wondered if that was something they wanted to do so publicly.
The gym itself is fine, it has everything you need and is in OK shape hygiene-wise. However, I was so put-off by the cold reception from the guy at the front. I got the feeling that he didn't even want me to be there for some reason.
I did my squat workout without issues and left. I only used the squat rack and some dumbbells so can't comment on the condition of too much of the equipment. Again, if I had been greeted warmly or at the very least courteously I may have considered signing up. But after the cold reception I knew there was no way I wanted to come back.
