I took my 3 year old for a trial class and she had a great time. The staff was very professional and took the time out to show us around the studio and answer all questions. My daughter is very timid but the coaches took her by the hand and made her feel welcome in an already established class. I just joined the adult beginner hip hop class this year with Joss and I’ve been having the best time so far! I am new to dancing but everyone has been so welcoming and kind and helpful. And Joss is super fun and does a great job of making you feel like there’s no pressure and to just do your best and have a great time! I had never taken a dance class before in my life, but was vaguely curious about ballet, because it seems such a graceful and elegant art.

I am SO glad I called Stage Door and asked about the adult ballet class.

I was going to put attending off until summer, but Ms. Sophia on the phone encouraged me to push past my shyness, and just do a free trial week.

This was wonderful advice, because I was able to attend class the next week, and begin my own ballet journey under Ms. Stephanie. She was super supportive and encouraging of me, despite the fact that I have two left feet!

The experience was overall exceedingly positive for me, and I highly recommend any other adults out there who are looking to dip their feet into casual dance to give Stage Door a call!

The dance school is Beautiful and everyone is so friendly and accommodating. When you arrive for the first time, they give you a complete tour of the school and tell you their story and history. The rooms are NYC themed and make you feel like you’re somebody!☺️

Love this place. Been a part of the stage door family since my daughter was 6 and she's 16 now and wouldn't dance anywhere else. From kids to adult classes the whole team is so amazing and the dancers are amazing as well. Go take a trial class you'll never want to leave. I started taking adult hip hop and love it even more. The energy from the other adult dancers is amazing and I love that I see some of the staff dancing as well. Come join us for a amazing experience. SDSD I’d the absolute best all around dance studio! Their competition level dancers get incredible training and get accolades at the competitions they attend. They offer a wide variety of dance, so every child can find a style of dance they love. They also offer classes geared towards kids with special needs and have student volunteers to shadow the kids 1:1 and build a beautiful relationship in the process. At the "ripe old" age of 14 my daughter just had her first dance recital (having spent her energy mostly in theater), which I didn't think could happen given that she was so late to the party and most kids dance from age 2! She first took a Broadway dance class at Stage door geared for beginners and she loved it- it was easy enough for a beginner but definitely pushed her comfort zone and challenged her. Then she took Hip Hop production over the summer culminating in an outdoor show and she loved every minute of it. The teachers were amazing and she looked forward to every class and came out feeling confident, choosing to practice at home and never having to be told. Kudos to Stage Door for their inclusivity and for making dance accessible to all, and a beautiful studio to boot. Highly recommend their programs.

Our tiny dancer was told she would never be able to walk let alone dance due to a medical diagnosis. She now is on the competition team and dances her heart out both at the studio and at home. I went here last Saturday for a trial for a “parent and me” class to start my daughter in. I was greeted immediately and given a tour around the whole studio before the class started. EVERYONE is soooo super nice who works here, and so accommodating. I knew that if my daughter liked the class (which she did) I would sign her up for the official classes for the future. The nice young woman Sophia that helped me register my daughter was such a nice young woman. She even reached out to the Teacher that runs the Special Needs classes on Saturdays. My girls have been going to Stage Door since they were 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old. They are now 12 and 15!! This studio is a family to them. My one daughter had the privilege of taking tap from the owner Mary. My favorite thing about the class was she started it by asking each student to think of one positive thing that happened from the day. If the kid thought of nothing but negative she knew how to turn it into a positive. What an inspiration!

This is our first time trying out dance. Our daughter is 7 and into hip hop. When we walked in we were welcomed immediately and pleasantly surprised with the modern decor and cleanliness of the building. The lounge area is very comfortable and also has a TV to view the dance classes.. Ms. Sophia was our tour guide, she was more than welcoming and made us feel even more excited to participate in dance. The building is very easy to navigate. They have a sweet swag and snack shop and an area for homework. The bathrooms were clean with a separate dressing room. This may have been our trial but we were immediately hooked. Looking forward to lots of dance and fun becoming part of the Stage Door School of Dance.

My daughter had been dancing with Stage Door since she was about 3. When we moved to the north shore she decided to try something different and got into ice skating for a few years, so we took a break from dance. Make a long story short, she wanted to try dance again and after looking for places of near convenience between pricing and class schedules conflicting with after school sports we ultimately went back to our home at Stage Door. It’s a 30 minute drive but there’s honestly nowhere else I would have her dance. Their new facility is outstanding, with many dance rooms accommodating to different dance styles with wrap around seating for every parent/sibling/caretaker to sit and the best part to me are the multiple TV’s in which you can get a great view of your child during class. No fighting over tiny TVs or peeking through windows or doors here! I also think it’s great that the recital is optional as I can understand how some would not want to perform publicly. The staff are so friendly and professional and as long as my daughter loves to dance this is where she will be!

My kids started Stage Door School of Dance this summer. My sons had registered for the hip hop class with Joss Guitierrez. My daughters took Leap & Turn class with Jillian Guido. They had a blast! Mary the owner is wonderful and approachable. The staff is courteous and always make you feel welcome. I am also pleased with SDSD studio size, appearance, modern appeal and cleanliness. I also love the fact that they have large screens outside the studio rooms for parents to view their kids in the dance rooms. I find this to be an extra bonus for parents. For those reasons, I decided to register my kids for the fall and continue my kids dance journey at SDSD.

I came in later during my dance career and this studio helped me bring my passion for dance back after it being knocked down from a previous studio. The teachers are so sweet and so professional and when your watching the recital it’s like watching a Broadway show. Every year the costumes are amazing and they’ll immediately put you in the class with your correct age.
