Studio Lato is the perfect little zen workout oasis I was needing in Greenpoint! All of the instructors are friendly, creative with their classes, and provide adjustments for skillsets of all levels. Ownership has created a tight-knit community that is welcoming of all. I can't recommend the studio enough!

Studio Lato is wonderful gem of a small business that adds so much to the neighborhood. The class itself has a very inclusive, supportive feel, thoughtfully made that way by the studio owner and instructors.
The level of exercise is perfect for everyday and includes breath work that make the experience great for physical and mental exercise/regulation. You can challenge yourself as you increase your strength by using modifications the instructors provide, emphasis is always supportive and self-empowering, unlike some studios that push you in a more confrontational way. The instructors are exceptional and provide helpful corrections where needed and a focus on positioning and form to make sure to avoid injury and target specific areas intentionally. I have seen an unexpected huge improvement in my hip flexor strength, (I struggle with hip dysplasia and bilateral labrum tears) effectively eliminating my need for physical therapy to mitigate my pain.
The studio provides a great sense of community and support outside the actual exercise and both instructors make a big effort to be there for their members on a personal level. Studio Lato also offers many community building activities like walks, parties and book clubs so it is an ideal place for those who recently moved to the neighborhood and are looking to make connections, or those who just enjoy social opportunities to connect.
Lastly, this business is one that is flexible, forgiving and understanding with their members, checking in to make sure you want to be charged for next months classes if you're still working through credits, understanding if you are running a little late every once in awhile and allowing roll over of credits month to month if unused, which is something that is very hard to find these days. You don't feel like this is a money grab business but one that really wants to offer a well rounded service to the community.

I’m 42 and walked into Studio Lato 6 months ago with NO Pilates experience and not in the best shape - I had no idea what to expect. The team were welcoming and there was a range of abilities that the instructors scaled to suit all levels. I’m now a regular, and have experienced steady improvement and progress and can’t say enough positive things about Studio Lato. They also have cool socks! 🧦

Studio Lato is such a gem in Greenpoint. The space itself is warm, bright, and inviting — you feel calm the moment you walk in. The instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, and really take the time to make sure your form is correct while still keeping the classes fun and challenging. I always leave feeling stronger, taller, and more grounded.
What I love most is the balance between a great workout and a supportive environment. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or more experienced, the team makes everyone feel welcome and cared for. It’s clear they’re passionate about helping people move well and feel good in their bodies.

This Pilates studio has truly changed my life! I’ve never felt stronger or more in tune with my body than since becoming a regular here. The small class sizes and attentive instruction make all the difference. The instructors always offer thoughtful modifications, so I can make each movement more challenging or lighter depending on how I feel that day. Over time, I’ve been so proud to see myself progress to heavier springs and more advanced movements.
All of the instructors are positive, kind, and deeply knowledgeable about form and safe adjustments. Even as a regular, I never get bored—the routines are constantly refreshed with new moves and props that keep things fun and engaging. Beyond the classes, the studio fosters such a warm and welcoming community. Everyone I’ve met has been friendly, and the events the studio hosts have become a much-appreciated “third space” in the North Greenpoint neighborhood.

Studio Lato was my first experience with reformer Pilates and from day one there was ample coaching and explanation of set up and movement. As a beginner this was so important to me so as to not feel left behind or lost. I’ve been coming now for almost a year and am amazed by the diversity of movement. I never feel like I’ve taken the same class twice. Julia has also created an intentional, warm, and welcoming environment which keeps me coming back. Studio Lato is a one of a kind place. So grateful for this addition to the neighborhood!

While the studio was nice, and the instructor was welcoming, this class fell short for me.
I booked an advanced class, that claimed emphasis on flow and transitions. I was met with something that I would describe as beginner level. Much of the class was inner thigh focused, with 2 arms moves, and one oblique move. I know that this is technically fully body throughout, but as I said, it was not challenging, as marketed. With 4 people in a class, I’d have expected more form corrections OR advancements/modifications. Felt like I was misled and wish I had spent my money elsewhere.

Finding my Pilates Haven
I was searching for a Pilates studio that felt welcoming, and I've finally found it!
Studio Lato is a true gem. The studio itself is beautifully designed, with warm lighting and a serene atmosphere. Julia is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, guiding me through each exercise with clear instructions and modifications to suit my individual needs.
The classes are small and intimate, which allows for personalized attention and a sense of community.

Hands down the BEST Pilates studio in NYC and Greenpoint!
I’ve tried many reformer studios over the years, but Studio Lato is definitely the best. Julia always brings something fresh—no two sessions are ever the same I leave each class feeling truly rewarded for the work I put in, with noticeable results that I just haven’t found anywhere else.
Julia’s genuine dedication to the studio and her clients really shows! She puts in so much effort to ensure we not only get stronger but also develop new skills. It’s clear that she truly cares about our progress, and that makes all the difference.

My girlfriend and I enjoy doing pilates together, and this studio is perfect. The instructor was kind, professional, and frankly really good; which are hard to come by. My girlfriend is a pilates pro, I’m more intro level, yet the class suited both of our levels.
The space itself has a nice homey feel to it and it’s really clean.
It’s in a great area with lots of options for a snack nearby after class.
Will definitely be coming back for a good workout, highly recommend.
