I have been in functional patterns training for 2 months and my trainer recommended to come visit Danny during my short stay in New York.
I bought a trial package which consists 3 lesson with Danny. Danny evaluated my body condition and tailor made a program for me. During these sessions, he not only helped me to flatten my rib cage which was flaring up all the time but also balanced out the left side of my body which used to be tilted. He also gave me advice on how to work out at home for better result. But tbh, it’s a very painful process, I sweat a lot each session and felt very tired in the end of each session.
Overall I am very satisfied and will come again next time.

Just wrapped up this training class on functional patterns, and I’ve gotta say—it was super eye-opening. I learned so much about how the muscles actually function together, not just in isolation. It really changed the way I think about movement and how everything is connected.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was how important hydration is—not just for energy, but for how the whole body moves and recovers. Never realized how much of a difference it makes until we broke it down in class.

Big thanks to Ever duque for making everything clear and easy to understand. Super grateful for the knowledge—definitely walking away with a better understanding of my own body!

I came for help - Left in constant pain

I was a client here for 5 months. I came in with a minor knee pain, advised by my physical therapist who recommended working with a personal trainer to ease back into regular exercise after an accident. I was already pain-free in daily life—I just needed guidance to safely ramp back up. After seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to give this place a try.

I chose to work with Danny. From the start, I was told to “trust the process”—so I did. I followed everything he asked: I quit physical therapy, stopped walking, stretching, swimming—any other activity. I even changed my diet, stopped alcohol and coffee. All I wanted was to get back into working out. But what I got was a nightmare.

What started as minor knee pain turned into full-blown leg pain that left me unable to walk or even stand at times. I was in constant pain—some days so bad I literally wished I didn’t have legs. And despite being extremely vocal about how I felt after each session, the answers I got were vague and dismissive: “Your body is adjusting,” “Your posture is bad,” “Your ankles are collapsing,” or, bizarrely, “You probably ate too much over the holidays.” He didn’t even consider my accident and just kept on talking about my so called bad posture. I was told I am not walking properly, standing properly - like I haven’t been walking all my life.

Instead of improving, I got worse and worse. When things didn’t add up, Danny claimed he was asking others in his “functional pattern circle” what might be wrong. That’s when it became clear: he had no real understanding of what was happening and was just guessing. This wasn’t personalized coaching—it was trial and error on my body. He would change the diagnosis regularly - sometimes it’s IT band syndrome, sometimes it’s my foot, sometimes it’s my knee going inwards, sometimes all of these, sometimes my hip, and sometimes it’s because I’m eating grains!
I was even told ridiculous statements such as - we eat a lot during Thanksgiving and holidays which leads to increase in weight and can cause all the inflammation while I had a constant weight of 135lbs throughout the whole time.

Eventually, I reached a breaking point—physically and emotionally. I couldn’t live like that anymore. I walked into the nearest physical therapy clinic crying and explained everything. They were horrified. Within one session, they pinpointed the real issue and told me too much strain had been put on my body unnecessarily, and wrong exercises were given by Danny causing serious aggravation that never should have happened.

In the end, I paid $6,000 to go from walking normally to not being able to function. It’s not even about the money had I been healed or at-least shown some improvement and relief.
This place didn’t help me heal. It set me back. These aren’t professionals with deep knowledge—they rely on theory, some jargon, and a whole lot of overconfidence.

Before I was so afraid to exercise because I am prone to muscle spasms in my back when I lift or move heavy stuff, and If it wasn’t for Ever, I wouldn’t know how my knee valgus and scoliosis were affecting my movement and my overall wellness. Thanks to training with FP, I am now more conscious of my posture, and I can feel muscles I didn’t know I could before! I love how dynamic and funcional the exercises are, and it amazes me how much my body changes after putting the right tension in the right muscles. I can't say enough great things about this place! I discovered Functional Patterns just over a year and a half ago, thanks to a recommendation from my acupuncturist, Kai. She referred me to Danny, and starting at Symmetry Biomechanics was the best decision I made in 2023.

I had been dealing with neck hernias and occasional tension in that area, but Danny helped me eliminate the pain and taught me techniques to manage it if it flares up (usually due to stress). Within just a few sessions, my pain disappeared, and we started focusing on reducing overall body stress to prevent the issues from returning.

Even during my pregnancy, Danny encouraged me to continue training. I attended both private and group classes at Symmetry Biomechanics throughout my entire pregnancy, and it was the best choice I could’ve made. I recommend Functional Patterns to all my pregnant friends—it truly made a difference! I delivered a healthy baby, and my recovery was incredibly fast.

Symmetry Biomechanics (aka Functional Patterns, akaka Danny Suárez) absolutely changed my life.

I was a nervous gym-goer, always unsure of where to start and what to do. I wanted to be able to go jogging with my runner husband, but couldn't go more than 1/2 a mile before I needed to stop.

I've been working out with Danny since 2022 and since then we have wildly corrected my posture, built up core strength I didn't know was possible, and improved my gait cycle enough to finally be able to jog pain free (ran my first two 10k races this year!) I'm now confident and excited when walking into class, and with Danny's support and coaching I am constantly leveling up.

By identifying and addressing my imbalances, asymmetries, and compensations, I have never felt better in my body. I look forward to the group classes every week, and plan to do private sessions whenever I get pregnant — mamas, FP is a lifesaver.

I have dealt with chronic lower back pain from a dance injury for over 20 years. As a dance teacher and former professional dancer, my pain was constantly hindering my ability to do my job well. I was even hospitalized twice. I tried everything under the sun to help alleviate my pain and nothing seemed to work long term until I began taking private sessions with Danny. At 32 years old, I was waking up everyday with low-grade chronic pain in my shoulders, legs, knees and in my feet. I had spent almost 10 years in a yoga practice coupled with contortion training and my joints were were feeling the imbalnced training. Massages and chiropractic care helped but never full resolved the issue.

Wanting real and sustainable solutions to my sitaution, I came upon Danny and the system he uses, Functional Patterns (FP). I began working with Danny since NOV 2021 and all of my imbalances and movement compensations have been illuminated. I see how my previous training informed the way I moved improperly contributing to the pain. Danny has taught me how to correct those imbalances through muscle release (MFR) and muscle re-activation. At the end of each session, I can SEE AND FEEL the changes in my posture immediately, and always leave feeling better than when I came.

Today, I no longer experience pain. I've also been bulking and getting stronger in muscle groups that were always difficult for me to access alone. As a client of his, I couldn't be more pleased with my recovery and growth through this process.

Truly one of the best things you can do for your health and fitness! This class is like no other workout class I have ever taken and it's really life changing. Since I started taking group classes I didn't just feel stronger or 'more fit' but also felt a significant improvement in my movement and functionality on a daily basis. The group classes are small and personal with a lot of focus on the form and on understanding the purpose behind each movement. Coach Danny is incredibly knowledgeable and takes a lot of time to make sure everyone gets the best out of each class based on where they are on their wellness journey.
