Update: This gym was great, but I'm moving away from the neighborhood so I had to cancel my membership. I had no issue canceling the membership. Ray took care of it quickly and offered to prorate my last month. He also made sure that I had a copy of the cancellation form for my records. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the area, I went there for 4.5 years and would have kept going as long as I lived in the neighborhood.

I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I'm making an exception for this place since they deserve every damn star. I considered a lot of gyms before taking the leap with Synergy and I couldn't be happier with that decision - the community here is warm and involved and never too far if you need a hand with anything. Synergy is a great gym. I've been a member since 2016 (posting this in 2025), and it is a good quality for the price. It doesn't have a lot of fancy bells and whistles (as far as I know), but it has everything you need to get your exercise in. There are weights as well as cardio equipment. They do offer personal training. Day lockers are available (no cost). Staff are friendly and helpful.
It isn't a place you would go to get a spa treatment, but if you need a good local gym that doesn't break the bank, this is a great option.

Synergy is a rare gem in the fitness world. It’s not some corporate behemoth with dull-eyed automatons behind the desk and members who never nod or make eye contact; it’s more of an old-school gym where everyone’s there for the workout, but it’s friendly, it’s encouraging. It’s a pleasure to be there instead of a duty.

Super easy sign up and cancelation. I was here for about 6 months because my rock climbing gym didn't have an adequate workout space. Great little gym with 2 levels and has all the equipment you need for a workout. Staff is friendly and Ray was super helpful and responsible to any questions I had regarding my membership. Also, super affordable monthly price!!! If my gym hadn't expanded, I would still be here!

Iv been in Manhattan since last Wednesday and have been coming to this gym and I’m so pleased with everything! The manger has been amazing and everything has been so great! Highly recommend!

Synergy is my favorite gym. They’ve got all the equipment you need for bodybuilding. It has free weights, bars, and racks, basically a professional environment. The management is friendly too. Unfortunately, I have to cancel my membership after a few years. The cancellation process was quick and easy, and the "cancel anytime" thing is legit!

I’ve been working out at Synergy for the past 2.5 years and have had a great experience. The staff and clientele are incredibly courteous (I’ve had an expensive watch that I left returned to the front desk where it remained for two weeks before I realized I’d left it there). They have an full complement of 2 power racks, a platform, dumbbells up to 200lbs, and machines. It can get a little crowded during the post-work rush, but I’ve never felt like I couldn’t work what I wanted to work that day and the other gym-goers have always been willing to let me work in on the rare occasion when I really wanted something that was already in use. The price is unbeatable. Great gym for getting strong.

Loved being member at Synergy! Very straight forward, no frills type of gym. It’s on the smaller side but during the 6-8am window I was always able to get all my sets done in a timely manner. Exactly what you need for weight training or cardio. Always very clean and well maintained. The staff are all very friendly, you get to know familiar faces pretty quickly, and it’s very easy to get in touch with management if you ever need anything. Unfortunately had to cancel but even that process was seamless!

I've used Synergy Fitness for two years, and overall, it’s been a nice experience. The gym is well-equipped with a wide range of machines, but what really sets this place apart is the staff. They are consistently kind, accommodating, and professional, making visits feel welcoming.

While the gym is complete and covers all workout needs, it does get quite busy at peak times. Sometimes the wait for equipment can be long, especially because some members take a bit too long. The staff does their best to maintain a clean environment and they also encourage personal hygiene and respect for the facilities.

Great, straightforward gym with everything you might need and a great value for the money. Everyone here is extremely kind, they know your name and greet you wholeheartedly. I rarely struggle with it being too busy or having to wait for equipment. I also trained with a couple of personal trainers here while wanting to learn to weight lift and had truly great experiences with both.

This gym is great, the equipment is modern and well-maintained, and there’s a wide variety of machines like a real double load leg press!!! One of my fav. It also has free weights. Most of the members are serious about their workout, so it’s a great ambiance. The facility is always clean, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I got a membership for a family member that was visiting and when I needed to cancel it, the manager Ray made the process super easy!

The trainers are knowledgeable and really make sure you’re getting the most out of your workout (Michael is great). This gym has everything I need for a fast and efficient daily workout!

Fake trial: Don't believe Ray. They don't do any trials. He just wants to sell you the membership in person. Not nice.
While it is completely understandable that a small gym doesn't want to provide free services, the fact that they offer it and even call and message you to remind you of the trial and then show the sign "no guest passes" sounds like a red flag.

I have been to this gym for several months and have always been incredibly satisfied with my experience. The people are extraordinarily nice, the gym is very clean, and the equipment is amazing. I hadn’t been to the gym in several months, and employees that I had only met once recognized me immediately. They care so much about all of their clients and try to optimize their experience. Their prices are also amazing, especially for how much you get out of the experience. If you live in the area, you must come to this gym!
