Perfect gift to yourself because you will reach your goals! I’ve lived all over the country, and have belonged to many gyms. I also have a master’s in exercise science so it was often painfully obvious when trainers were really just salespeople. This was not the case at TENRA! They have solid backgrounds and are up to date on the latest fitness developments, and also have the tools to objectively make assessments and measure progress. The nerd in me loves all the science-based data available; but you don’t have to. You can let Mike & Max determine how to use the info available and just focus on what interests you. From specific performance goals to beginner overall health and fitness, your program will be tailored to your needs. I was hesitant to accept a free 6 week challenge, but results needed to earn my money back were based on my specific goals and were agreed upon ahead of time. There were no loopholes or tricks to void my refund - they truly want to help people reach their goals, and are more than capable to help you get there. Very adaptable and motivating 👍.

I’ve been working with Max at Tenra Fitness for the past three months, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He created a personalized fitness program tailored specifically to my health needs and goals, and he’s been extremely attentive to any limitations I have—while still pushing me to reach new levels of strength and confidence.
What I really appreciate is how Max checks in with me every session to see how I’ve been feeling since the last workout and if I have any questions or concerns. He monitors my progress closely, making sure each session challenges me just the right amount to keep me improving safely and steadily.
Max is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and personable, with a great balance of encouragement and expertise. He’s also very flexible with scheduling, which makes it so much easier to fit workouts into my own busy routine. Every session feels purposeful and motivating.

As an empty nester who has spent the last several years taking care of everyone else but herself I highly recommend TENRA Fitness. I came in overweight, bad knees, out of shape, no consistent exercise, BUT ready to put me first. My goal was to find a program that gave me consistency, held me accountable, break down my excuses, and work with my limitations (bad knees and hand/grip strength). As a woman, I also know that lifting weights is key to aging well and needed someone to teach me and get me started on getting healthy. I found that at TENRA. I came in with very low expectations of myself, thinking if I could get up to 20-30 pounds in lifting that would be great. Every week I am amazed that we keep going up in weight (20-30 pounds is now the warm up weight) and not only can I do split squats now but have added weights while doing them. Max is super encouraging and believes in me when I often doubt myself. He is great at giving directions, talking about how to do things correctly and checking that I am using proper form, and listening to me when my knees are having a wonky day and helping with alternatives ways to strengthen them and get them moving better. They are great about working around my crazy work schedule so I have no excuses not to go. I am not a morning person and many mornings I stumble into the gym with the thought in my mind that I can’t do this and ready to quit but every time I walk out proud of myself that I did it. If you think you are too old, too tired, too out of shape, don’t have time, have bad knees (or any body part), TENRA is the place for you. They will support you in overcoming your fears, getting rid of your excuses and help you achieve more than you ever thought you would.

I started working out at Tenra 3 months ago, after my wife found them online. I am a Board Certified Doctor of Osteopathic Family Medicine Physician with a wealth of knowledge in musculoskeletal medicine and exercise physiology and I was immediately impressed with Maxes ability to synthesize all of the information that I gave him and use it to create a concise, easy to use, individualized plan that fit my own personal strengths and weaknesses.
I have some chronic musculoskeletal issues including low back and knee pain and Max was able to suggest effective and easy modifications to my exercise regimen that have not only allowed me to continue training without injury but have strengthened the areas that used to give me issues!!
In the last 3 months my strength has increased exponentially in all of the exercises we are working on and I feel amazing!! There is still lots of work that I need to do but I am motivated to do it knowing that I have Max and Mike to guide me through it and I am certain that this program will allow me to meet all of my fitness goals!!
I recommend Tenra without any reservations to people of all levels of fitness!! Come check it out for yourself and you will see what I'm talking about!!

I started coming to TENRA Fitness about a month ago, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The gym itself is clean, spacious, and equipped with everything you need.
I’ve been working mostly with Max, and he’s absolutely fantastic. I re-started with Tenra to bolster my workouts after 30+ years at fitness clubs. 6 months later and continuing, through a wonderful coach and a tailored program (which changes as my progress changes) I have no pain in my right knee and left hip and hoping for a better osteo report! I thought surgery was in my future, but no. The coaching and encouragement is excellent and I have developed great muscle tone and strength. Everyone is challenged to do their best and more with no judgment :)
Pump iron rather than popping pills. Gift yourself HEALTH! I have seen a range of ages here. Also, spirited competition with a friend or family member provides accountability, socialization and continuing commitment to the cause - YOU!

Prior to joining TENRA Fitness I was on a path that was leading towards a very difficult place both physically and mentally. Since joining, it has only been 6 short months but I find myself headed in a completely new direction. Through the program put in place by Max and Mike which has catered to my specific wants and needs along with the knowledge, accountability, discipline, convenience, flexibility and fun I have found a lifestyle change that has impacted and transcended into many other aspects of my life. It has been an intricate part of facilitating change in a positive way. On top of that I look better and feel better. I have more of a sense of self-worth, motivation and drive to continue not only in the gym but with challenges in life that present themselves. I came to TENRA Fitness with a very specific goal in mind for work, and honestly, I’m amazed at how quickly I’ve seen progress. What I’ve been working on has really taken off thanks to their tailored approach. The coaches here really know their stuff, especially when it comes to perfecting technique. They focus on making sure you’re lifting safely and progressively upping the weight without going too hard too soon. That’s been a game-changer for me in terms of making steady progress without risking injury.
One thing I really love is that I don’t leave every session feeling completely wrecked. You know the kind of sore where you can barely move for days? Not at TENRA. The workouts are challenging but never leave me in a state where I can’t function. For me, they’ve focused on full-body training while also helping me increase mileage to aid in weight loss.
Mike and Max are fantastic—very knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about helping you reach your goals. I’ve gone from group sessions to solo sessions with them, and the personalized attention has been incredibly helpful. Another awesome thing is their body scanner. Even when the scale isn’t showing the results I want, the scanner proves that my muscle mass is increasing and I’m making changes, which has been a huge motivator.
I’ve been consistently going since May, and I honestly couldn’t recommend TENRA more. They’ve been so accommodating, especially with my extremely busy schedule. If you’re looking to level up your fitness, this place is absolutely worth it—10/10!

I’ve trained at a lot of gyms, but TENRA has taken things to a whole new level for me. When I started, I was just felt stuck at the weight I was at
I had some muscle, but also too much fat and no real direction.
What’s made a huge difference here is being able to track my progress with the InBody scale.
I’m not just seeing a number on the scale go down….I’m seeing how much muscle I’m keeping and how much fat I’m actually losing.
That’s been a game-changer. So far I have dropped over 8 pounds, improved my hydration, and held on to my strength thanks to the coaching and the personalized plan they built for me.
Everything is dialed in, from the workouts to the nutrition to the check-ins.

I joined Tenra at the end of March of this year (2025). I struggle with my weight, and, personally struggle with self-motivation to workout. While my nutrition is under control, I lack discipline when it comes to being more active. I need an extra push. I've been a member of Southtowns Fitness for awhile. (It's great!), but I've been intimidated by the machines and people I've debated for awhile now on asking a personal trainer to help me become a better, healthier me. I just never had the chutzpah.
Then my husband told me that he passed by a new gym in the village and wanted to check it out. He told me about it, that it was smaller and that they had trainers, etc. etc.I told him I'd like to give it a whirl. He set up the consultation (I made him--otherwise I would chicken out).
Being one-on-one really helps. I like that it's not filled with people slamming equipment and grunting. That always intimidates me. (Nobody likes to do squats next to wild boar). This gym is for plebs like me, who are learning to be less ignorant and more healthy. Max and Mike are accommodating and are always making sure we're doing better, while checking to see if we're still alive after each set.
My goals at the gym are when asked how much more weight to add, to go with more (I usually try). And to try not to be so intimidated by scary (new) concepts to me. Also, to not let my intrusive thoughts take over, because my mind (and metabolism) is my own worst enemy.
I leave each session, sweaty, red in the face, tired, but more successful. When I see my husband after my session, he always asks how it went, and I always tell him "I died to death!". I leave worthy of being tired though. I still struggle feeling motivated wanting to go, but once I'm there, I'm in it, to win it. I'm happy that I am showing my daughters a positive example now.
I do feel that if I went back to my other gym, I would understand some machines better now, which is good. I hope to not be depending on Personal Trainers forever, but for now it's a very good thing. I'm learning a lot--It's worth it!

I was never much of a gym guy. I’m 65 now, and I’ve come to learn that without a doubt, muscle mass and longevity go together.
I saw a positive review of Tenra on Facebook that pushed my buttons. if I was gonna step into this gym thing, it needed to be efficient, professional, clean, and friendly. Tenra checks all those boxes for me. Max and Mike started this gym from scratch, and boy are they into it! I chose to work with Max as a trainer, knowing full well that without accountability, I might not stick with it. my experience has been great. Just as advertised, their operation allows you to get a workout in fast, efficiently, with professional guidance and a brand new clean and uncrowded facility. In fact, I’m usually the only one there as we train. It’s only been two months, but it is everything I was hoping for.
