I would like to start off by saying My MAIN reason Iβm writing the reviews is the recent price change, itβs absolutely ridiculous. $650 for the year from $420, itβs so absurd and $85 a month. I understand the $400 price tag because thatβs how the gym ends up being more spacious and it is, when I go 4-5 pm there are about like less than 30 people including the boxing class. But these price changes are very awful for a mediocre gym, you can get a nice boxing bag at crunch fitness for a much cheaper price
If this were a year or two ago Iβd probably put a higher rating. The gym itself is not bad, itβs pretty small in terms of a regular gym with fewer machines and a big boxing ring and two boxing rooms. Sometimes a few machines end up broken but it takes a while to have them replaced. The front desk is calm and kind. The cleaning lady has an attitude problem and constantly complains about things that arenβt even my fault. The coaching lesson prices are ridiculous, youβre better off learning from YouTube.

NYC Fitness club is one of the best gyms I've been to in NY. The facility is clean and well maintained. They are constantly updating the equipment and adding new machines. The best part of my experience their was the staff, they were all super helpfull and friendly. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good gym!!

Its not a bad gym, cleanly, and some of the staff is friendly. I live in the neighborhood and loved the accessibility to this gym. However, its been about a year or more since I've been there. The reason I haven't gone back were issues not worth my time and money. 1.) The infrastructure itself was weak from leaving the facilities vulnerable to the weather and temperature changes. There was a bad storm about 2 years ago and they were closed for several months with very limited communication. They eventually opened back up and extended memberships for the time lost, but even with that I experienced some not so great service by the front desk at times. 2.) There is no consistency, I am a morning lifter and there were plenty of times I and other members lost out on time because their openers were late. At times having to turn back home. Really frustrating considering i work in the city and im on a schedule 3.) It's more of a personal preference, but I'd like to see new free weight and machine equipment in there. I would consider going back even with current equipment, but has the service changed in the sense of facilities employees being punctual and considerate of the members time? If yes, then you have a possible sale here.

Probably the best gym in Brooklyn. Its a little expensive but it has the benefits. Since its a little expensive there are less people, which makes you not wait for any machine. You have any questions about anything, the staff and trainers got your back. Everyone there is nice, very welcoming people. The gym has everything you need for working out. The is also boxing, with the ring in the middle of the gym. There is yoga. I think kickboxing as well. Would definitely recommend this gym. Worth the money for sure.

Amazing gym, staff is very good at their job and itβs very clean. Doesnβt get too busy, during βrush hourβ and a great experience for people of all ages. They offer classes for children, like boxing, kickboxing etc. and parents who pay for those classes can get 50% off membership which is a great deal for parents and children so they donβt leave their kids alone. All in all if I could give 10 stars I would.

My one star is for customer service, not the facility itself. I called the gym to inquire about boxing classes. Naturally, I would want to try the class to see if I like it before signing up for a month. I was informed by the general manager(he said), that the fee for a drop in class I was interested in is $40. It is on a high side, so I said I'd be willing to pay the rate and if I don't like it, I'll lose my money. But if I like it, I would sign up for the monthly classes but I would like the $40 be a part of my monthly dues starting the day of my trial class. Makes sense? Not to him. He absolutely refused to credit those $40 towards the monthly fee. Now, would this move make a big difference for gym? I doubt it. But it would be a smart way to get me through the door. And he wouldn't even lose those $40 in the end. I could've become a loyal client, I love boxing, but I'm particular about the trainers. Now he lost the sale. I'll keep looking elsewhere.

This gym has been closed for about a full month for repairs. The owners have not communicated any clear timeline for reopening or how they will reimburse the paying customers who have been without service for a month. As of today they are still closed and have not communicated any updates for several weeks. Terrible.

Before I signed up for this gym in early January of this year, I had a membership for 20+ years at the gym on Sheepshead Bay (Bally, then 24/7 fitness). There are certainly many good things about this gym and a few minor cons.
The equipment here seems very good, and mostly in very good shape and working order. Many machines look and feel new and well maintained. There is plenty of dumbells, bars and various accessories for cable workout machines, and they are usually well organized on the racks. There is a good mix of stationary bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and stair-master machines. And there are multiple rooms for various classes, but when not in session, could be used for stretching, etc. The locker room is medium sized and is fairly clean.
The best thing for me about this gym, is that I live within a 10 mins walk from it, which by contrast with my previous gym, which was 15-20 mins drive, is great!
Now for the cons:
Some of the lockers in the locker room seem to be consistently broken and no one is fixing them. Quite a few treadmills (about a third) are consistently out of working order (though other cardio machines all work). One also wishes there were just a couple of more benches in the free weights section of the gym.
There is NOT a single water fountain! What kind of gym has no water fountain?? :) One has to come prepared with a lot of water, whether in multiple standard plastic bottles or with a gallon.
All in all, despite the lack of water fountain and some other minor issues, I am very happy to have signed up for this gym, especially considering how (finally!) close it is from my home! Whereas in the last 5 years or so, I was averaging going to the gym once a week, because driving to Sheepshead Bay and looking for parking was a real deterrent, I am so far going 3-4 days weekly to this gym and I plan to maintain this pace for the foreseeable future.

I've had my membership for about four months now and wanted to share my appreciation for this gym! Every time I have visited it has been clean and orderly, and the equipment is in good shape. I visit in the mornings and there is hardly ever a crowd, let alone a wait for the machines. The staff are excellent as well; every interaction I've had has been pleasant and helpful. The worst maintained gym there is. The ceiling is leaking air, so it constantly blows cold air in the winter and it is freezing. Equipment is constantly broken, manager does not even bother to fix it or replace. And it is really old. It seems, manager simply collects really expensive fees and does nothing otherwise. Yo empece a ir a este gimnasio en enero del 2019 lo cerraron en marzo por la pandemia del covid-19 en marzo yo pase a ver si ya estaba abierto cuando abrieron los restaurantes pero el lugar seguia cerrado. Volvi en junio del 2020 y el empleado me dijo que m hiba a llamar para ver que hiba hacer con mi membrecia pero nunca me llamo. En septiembre del 2020 volvi y me dijeron que el gerente me hiba a llamar. Tuvo que volver en octubre y finalmente hable con el y solo me dio 3 meses de los 10 meses restantes que m quedaban me dijo que el lugar estuvo abierto mucho tiempo atras y si yo no bine fue por culpa mia no de ellos. Tuve que aceptarlo no me quedo de otra.

working parents can't make the kids classes so i had to get personal training for my son to get boxing lessons. While it wasn't the most economical, i must say money well spent. Alex the trainer was fantastic with him and my son can't wait to return. His progression was great to watch in the 9 weeks he went. Wish it was more affordable and not 2x a week, but we will return next summer for sure! Gym is clean and staff is friendly - smells like any other gym - i have no complaints :)

One of the worst experiences of customer service you'l ever have. The so called 'manager,' who was obviously deprived of male attention for years, will refuse you admission inside the club if you forget your card. And the last push was one of the owners who started an argument with me because of $20.. despite the fact that I used to spend over $500 a month on food in that gym. So do yourself a favor - go to Matchpoint instead. Save yourself the hassle. Or planet fitness if the finances are singing romances.

Sauna, Juice Bar work out equipment even personal trainers. What else can anyone need. This was the best decision I made to join this gym.
