The new owner is really going above and beyond to make this a comfortable, affordable, clean place to be. He has made incredible changes. This place is slowly turning around. After years of neglectful ownership, the new owner (as of Jan 2025) had his work cut out for him! I’m thankful he bought the gym and is investing in it. He’s putting a lot of much need TLC into it. New machines, new upholstery, new lighting, cleaning, repairing, etc. There’s still much work to be done, but it’s already much better than what it was just a year ago. Perfect neighborhood gym to show up at, crush yourself, and leave.

I would leave a ZERO star review if I could! I was able to EASILY get a membership withy jr manager The day I emailed he reached out minutes later, gave me his phone number to talk And ask questions. I went ONE day And realized I would be canceling my membership that same day, they barely have any equipment. The equipment is very old that they do have the seats or taped up with big holes in them. The mirrors are so dirty. You can’t see out of them. Literally nowhere to put down a mat to do core exercises. It’s filthy inside. So I reached out to cancel my membership & it’s been WEEKS, haven’t heard from the manager back after leaving multiple emails days in a row, I even messaged his personal number and called him. No answer. They will not Cancel my membership!! I do not recommend going to this gym!!! Weeks later and I still can’t get a respond back from the manager !! Very disappointed and very unprofessional.

I’ve already had a subscription for almost a month now and so far each time is a disappointing experience. It was decent at first, I’d come in at night and the owner would be there but would ignore me, so I thought it’s whatevs no biggie. Next time I went I was there with a friend, the owner picked up and entire conversation with her but ignored me. Weird huh. Now all of a sudden I was just in there and immediately When I walked in the owner comes up behind me and starts questioning me if I had a subscription, why my scooter was brought inside where I normally put it( I don’t have a lock yet) and that he’s told me before not to bring it in which wasn’t true I told him it was someone else and he said nothing after that. No hi how are you, no apologies and not even an introduction I don’t even know his name nor does he care to ask me. Made me sad tbh lol I’ve also been staring at the same cobwebs on the windows next to the peddleing equipment for a month and thick dust underneath the weights. Only reason I go here is cause I can’t go far but if I can’t keep my only means of transportation safe then I won’t be able to keep this subscription. Really wish it was a better first impression. :’(

WOW!!! I am all about supporting local businesses and I made the right decision by choosing Timberstrength. There are so many different options. Great environment, clean, and the owner even goes out of his way to make sure he offers special memberships for teachers, first responders, silver, sneakers, veterans, nurses and so much more! Not only do I appreciate the generosity of giving back to the local community, but I see the changes and obstacles that the new owner had to take on. I'm sure it was a struggle but he pushed through and made it a great place for everyone. He also accepts medical insurance! WHAT!?! This is unheard of. Hopefully at some point e point this will be stopped- my advice to everyone here- call your bank and tell them to block charges from this place. Then you won’t get ripped off anymore. They don’t even have the heat on and creepy people hang out and harass people now. Place needs condemnation

This used to be a decent gym but it’s absolutely terrible now. DO NOT JOIN. No one is ever there representing the gym. No one answers the phone. No one replies to emails. They haven’t provided any cleaning solution for months and there has been NO HEAT for the past 3 weeks. When I say it’s freezing I mean it’s ridiculously FREEZING. I was giving them time to transition to a new owner or whatever is going on but today, I couldn’t use the bathroom because the light wouldn’t turn on…seriously?!? Get it together or close it down.

Cancelling with this gym is impossible. Since September I have made multiple phone calls. Emailed twice. Stopped in to the gym (but no one was there). Sent a message to their Facebook page. Tracked down the owner’s phone number and texted them. Sent certified mail, which got rejected because no one was there to receive it and they did not respond to the “sorry we missed you” notice. I finally disputed the charge with my credit card, and when I log into the gym portal now it shows that I owe late fees. I can show that I’ve made attempts to contact them, but this is an unbelievable headache. I am not sure what else to do at this point beyond actually tracking down the owner’s home address and knocking on his door, and that may be my next step. Best of luck if you join this gym.

It's almost impossible to cancel my membership. Multiple calls, visits, emails, and no response for months and kept getting charged. Finally, I got an email saying my account is canceled, but they keep charging me. I've had to dispute multiple charges (all higher than their monthly rate, meaning they are charging whatever they want). I've tried contacting them about it, but there no answer at all, and no employees are ever working. DON'T EVER JOIN HERE if you ever plan on canceling and know they may charge you random amounts each month.

I moved two month ago and continue to pay for the never ship because they are making it impossible to cancel my membership. I have emailed, left multiple voicemails, Facebook messages them and no one has contacted me. I ever followed up on these emails and messages and nothing. Worst gym experience ever do not go to this gym!

Terrible gym. Kids from the school nearby sneak in and interrupt everything and act inappropriate! I contacted someone about canceling my membership months ago and I was still charged every month, not to mention there are no or rarely any workers inside and the phone line is always unavailable. And the space is kinda dirty. I would not recommend this gym at all.

Always plenty of room on the equipment and space to use it.Sometimes the equipment and building are clean, but not always. The staff I've spoken with most of the time is very nice and helpful...they'll answer all your questions or get you started exercising.

I was accompanying my friend who is a member. His personal trainer was also educating me verbally the workout regimen. Didn't have to. It was a warm welcome. I'd give five stars but I didn't work out.

We tried to cancel our membership about 2-3 months after getting it and the worker kept telling my husband he couldn't cancel that he had to put it on a 90 day hold. So every 90 days we would get charged and we would call to cancel and they would tell us the same thing again. A ear later we now got charged the new membership fee. And they said we had to provide 30 days notice cancellation and will not refund the money. I advised the manager of what the other worker kept telling us and he said "nobody would force you to put your account on hold, anybody can cancel at anytime." Well that is NOT what your worker said, so he's calling me and my husband a liar. I would never recommend this gym to anyone! Very poorly ran...not to mention dirty.

Not a friendly atmosphere or staff. They do try to over charge or charge on contracts not signed or agreed upon. They do make some false membership statements. Not a large range in equipment. May be fine for a senior crowd for cardio but would still not feel good making that suggestion. Disappointment

I signed up here after an injury to slowly get back into things. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly, and the location is very convenient. After I got strong again I canceled my membership only to resume training in my basement once again. If I was more of a people person I probably would continue being a member. Great gym overall, it has a very nice mix of equipment.

Timberstrength is a small, locally owned gym. It's just as affordable as the large chains. It may not have the same level of features, but it's got everything you need, is clean, and you hardly ever need to wait to use equipment. If you want to support a local business and work out at a conveniently located neighorhood gym, I'd definitely recommend Timberstrength.
