Awesome workout! If you want to take your fitness to the next level, come here! The energy was great as soon as I walked in from James at the front desk, and the workout with Jojo (Josephine) was amazing. Jojo also gave modifications that were great.
The other people doing the workout were motivating and positive as well which made a good environment. An overall, great experience.

I had a blast coming here for my first time, and thoroughly enjoyed the conditioning class. Shout out to our trainer 07/26/2025 she did an amazing job with leading the class!

Tone House is hands-down one of the best gyms out there. The energy is electric from the moment you walk in, with a fun yet competitive vibe that pushes you to your limit. The coaches are truly top-notch: they motivate, guide, and challenge you to train like your favorite athlete. Every class is tough but rewarding, leaving you feeling stronger, faster, and more confident. If you want to level up your fitness in an environment that’s both supportive and intense, Tone House is the place to be.

I took a class at tone house & left my Gucci shades and when I called up there I was told that my shades were up there and I could come get them. Before leaving town I went by the studio and the business was closed. I sent an email to the manager and now my calls are not being answered. Beware of your belongings are staff and expect poor customer service

Awesome got my___ handed to me in the Intro class, but it's just what I need to jumpstart my progress. I swear my waist is already a half inch smaller🤣 They have a nice lounge where you can roll out and stretch after class. The women's locker room has access to a whirlpool, lockers, and showers. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ it here.

If you are looking for a competitive strength training workout, Tone House is your spot. Instructors led us through a group warmup followed by splitting us up to tackle strength/conditioning exercises like rowing, sled drills, wall ball ect. We finished with some cooldown drills. Overall excellent spot for anyone looking into getting to shape fast.

In the beginning we liked the conditioning classes but overtime we realized that classes are vary. Sometimes you’ll be working with professionals that you’ll be rushed on the floor, others you workout with completely noobs that they’ll pull everyone back and slow everything . Me and my partner problem was that we got both wrists injury due to the unbalanced body warm up and we had to forfeit our membership with many classes left since we felt it wasn’t 100% safe. I suggest that they won’t allow advanced clients to take intermediate classes to just to show off but then rush everyone!

Good workouts but via ClassPass some of the classes are 18 credits!! Wtffffffff. 18 credit x $3 per credit is 50 bucks for a class this is outrageous.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Tone House Gym in New York, and I must say, it was quite an experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the vibrant energy of the place. The atmosphere is both motivating and welcoming, which immediately put me in the right mindset for a workout. The interior is sleek and modern, with plenty of space and high-quality equipment designed to challenge even the most seasoned gym-goers.The team at Tone House is exceptional. The trainers are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about helping each individual reach their fitness goals. They take the time to understand your fitness level and tailor workouts accordingly, ensuring that everyone feels included, irrespective of their experience.I joined a group class, and it certainly pushed me to my limits. The workouts were intense but incredibly rewarding. The camaraderie among the participants was also a highlight – everyone cheered each other on, making the challenging exercises much more enjoyable. It felt less like a traditional gym and more like a community working towards shared goals. What I appreciated most was the unique approach Tone House takes toward training. They focus on functional fitness and high-intensity interval training, which not only helped me break a sweat but also improved my overall strength and endurance. I left the class feeling accomplished and eager to return.Overall, my experience at Tone House Gym was fantastic. Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just starting your journey, I highly recommend checking it out. The combination of expert trainers, a motivating environment, and a community spirit makes it a top-notch gym in New York!

I live in Houston but work for a NYC based firm. Every time I have to come to NYC for work I go out of my way to design travel logistics around accommodating tone house drop ins. There’s nothing like these classes anywhere else I’ve been and the people will push you way harder than you would push yourself alone. Friday conditioning day is by hard the best and toughest conditioning workout there is and Wednesday core conditioning is insane as well. Every class I die and come back to life several times throughout class and when I walk out feel like an entirely refreshed, reborn individual. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Thanks Alonzo and Natalia!

One of my favourite gyms anywhere. Whenever I’m visiting New York, I stop by Tone House for an unparalleled workout. Great space with some of the best instructors. I still think about the workout that started with arms-only, 50-cal assault bike, followed by an intense workout and ended with 100-cal assault bike. These are the workouts I live for 🙏

If you’re reading this then the chances are you’ve heard of Tone house, the famously tough fitness class in the Mecca of boutique fitness, NYC. It’s a team based sports conditioning class where you train like a professional athlete. Lots of hurdles, push ups, crawling, sweating and praying. If you’re looking to challenge yourself in a fast paced and supportive environment then this is your Jam.

Signed up on the Rookie Pass after being highly recommended! Did a conditioning class and later on a lower body strength class. It was tough but trainers asked up front for anyone with injuries so those could get modifications! Both classes were intense. The conditioning class was cardio and plyometric intensive. The strength class focused on push / pull exercises with laddering reps. Both classes focused on form and safety. Have fun and get strong💪🏽

Took a STRENGTH: TOTAL BODY class with Yusuf Jeffers and I ended up spraining my lower back. He kept pushing me to try heavier weight and when I attempted barbell clean & press with the weight, my back bent incorrectly and cracked a bit. Ended up spending 2 weeks out of the gym because of this (& went to physical therapy). I get that the gym is trying to appeal as “results driven rugged etc etc” but a truly good fitness gym/instructor would never pressure anyone into maxing their weight without knowing their limits or correct form (form is #1). Please take your money elsewhere—they don’t really take safe fitness seriously, it’s just a gimmick.

Workout itself is good and the coaches are great. However I recommend you NEVER buy a class pack directly from the studio because of their unscrupulous expiration policies. Use more flexible platforms like Classpass. Like many have said, this is an intense workout and shouldn't be attempted if you're physically comprised in any way. Even at my healthiest I could only come once a week. I normally use Classpass (which is cheaper) but purchased a 5-pack for $185 to support the studio. HUGE MISTAKE. I got unexpectedly injured skiing and emailed asked for an extension. TH requested a physician letter, which I provided, twice. Each time it was not detailed enough for them to extend the classes. Instead I've been charged a $25 monthly extension fee three times now if I want to ever use these classes. Their reason for not accepting my dr's letter is it's not detailed enough and it wasn't given at the time of injury. First of all, my dr is only going to put so much in there due to privacy, and I've already hassled her twice. I'm not giving you my medical history. Second, if I'm injured to the point I needed to see a doctor, my class expiration date isn't top of mind. TH might give you an extra day or two, but basically they find any reason to not extend ur classes and charge you the fee. No matter how small the class pack, it's unlikely you could use it within the short time given unless you have all the time in the world and are sure you'll never be injured, ever. It's a lose-lose for the customer. I still recommend the workout, just don't buy it from the studio.

Review I posted on Yelp:
I rarely write reviews online, but I thought Id warn others about this place. As many others have seemed to post (on yelp... seem to be removed from google reviews), this place is dangerous. This is not coming from someone who is a mediocre athlete or who is out of shape and decided to go all out randomly in one workout and injure myself. To give context, I can squat about 450 lbs, deadlift about 530 lbs, can do about 30 pull ups and can run a sub 6 min mile. I am in better shape than about 95 percent of the general population if I had to guess.
I went to this place a couple of weeks ago and injured my hip pretty badly. I have not been able to squat or do any squat like movements since and my hip hurts all of the time. It is non stop pain that I feel laying down, walking, running etc. I hope its just a muscle strain, but it could be a tear that requires surgery. Regardless, it has reached the point that this is not a sore muscle anymore and is an injury that Ill have to deal with for god knows how long.
The reason this place is dangerous is that it takes average people and puts them through a plyometric/sprint workout for a very long duration. Plyometric and explosive work is designed to be done for very short periods of time, followed by long rest periods. They are not designed to be done for an hour straight. Its a recipe for injury. Even elite athletes should not be doing the workout that I went through.
Half the exercises were pointless with no upside besides a huge injury risk.
They had us do "jumping situps," which is quite possibly the dumbest exercise that Ive ever done in my life. This was coupled with regular situps for 5-10 minutes straight. Your hips and low back are not designed to do exercises like that for long duration. Situps are already seen as a somewhat dangerous and suboptimal exercise to be doing. Why in the world would you decide to make it "jumping?" Its baffling.
This was coupled with the sprint work that needs to be eased into for the vast majority of people who take this class.
Unless you are actively doing plyometric training or sprinting in day to day life, your body will not be ready for this type of long workout that is filled almost entirely of explosive movements.
Even if you do train explosively, the exercise selection was so bad that youd still risk a severe injury.
Overall, will never be stepping foot inside this place again. Stick to CrossFit, orange-theory, regular big box gyms, powerlifting gyms... literally anywhere else besides this place

BRUTAL. CHALLENGING. GRATIFYING.
You win, I’ll be back.
Listen... I am in good shape and there is nothing I can’t do fitness wise if I set my mind and train. I’ve done bootcamps, barre, solid core, and I love spartan Races. I always love and welcome a challenge. BUT Today?? My Mind was TESTED. The last 15mnts? I didn’t think I could finish. (And I paced myself!) there are no “EASY ONES” in here. Every single exercise is made to push you physically and mentally.
I wanted a challenge and man did they deliver! Coach Shaun was amazing and everyone in class was super encouraging! By the end I was shaking...

I was in NYC for a few days and took my first Tone House class. I took the regular Friday conditioning class. It was brutal and I thoroughly got my butt kicked but enjoyed every minute of it (in hindsight). Very tough class. An atmosphere like no other gym class. This workout reminded me of my rugby practices in college but without the tackling. Hard af. But also enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and did a good job working with folks’ various fitness levels in the intro class, adding more weights to sleds for people who seemed to be having too easy of a time with it, modifying workouts for a woman who had a wrist injury, etc.
I think working in things like relay races and partner workouts could be cool for their whole “teamwork” theme. Could make 2 teams compete w sprint of sorts, and the winning team assigns the losing team a (reasonable) punishment to do (more burpees anyone?).
Also, as someone who has spent a decent amount of time on turf before, it’s worth noting this was high quality stuff. I didn’t get any turf burn despite collapsing onto my knees several times during those slider-crawl thingies.
I’ll prob only hit this place up every once in a while as a treat/torture since it is a bit pricey, but anyone looking for a fun new fitness challenge should deff give this a shot!

Really liked the class I took here. The place didn't seem very sanitary though - change rooms were gross and showers were yikes. There's a cold jacuzzi in the change room which is cool. The stretching area is really weird - looks like a waiting room for a doctor's office with some foam rollers sprinkled about. I'd come here for the class and go shower/stretch elsewhere.

This was hands down the hardest class I’ve ever taken. It was absolutely brutal. If you think because you can do Barry’s, you can do this, it is not the same.
The instructors are good and the moves aren’t difficult but they will tire you out and are more athletic based moves.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stairs is because the shower was broken and leaking all over the locker room floor.

Best workout in NYC hands down. The coaches are motivating and encouraging, they can tell when you need to be pushed and when you need some assistance. The facility is top notch and the other athletes on the turf treat you like a teammate and friend despite the fact that they might not have ever met you before. You might feel slightly intimidated walking in your first time but rest assured you will be welcomed as one of the crew in minutes and leave the class ready to start or end your day feeling like the best version of yourself. This is absolutely a 5 star review but this workout isn't for me in the long run. The facilities are GREAT, I didn't want to leave, the instructors are motivating and incredibly helpful.
Upon arriving, I met some lovely people at the front desk, most of whom are so crazy about this workout that they went and got jobs there. They're very happy to tell you all about it and prepare you for class. Once you get past the front desk, basically everything is bathed in red lights. It's nice, it makes for intense looking selfies but it gets a little old. The Lounge has lots of foam rollers for before or after your workout and some nice reclining chairs that must feel great after class.
Class was an even mix of men and women but clearly EVERYONE even in the 101 class, is in excellent physical shape already. We were about 18 people and basically everyone is super toned. Our instructor was incredibly motivating (almost too much for my taste) and there was an air of "pep rally" in the room. I'm not super outgoing and though I wish my "teammates" a great workout, I don't want to cheer for strangers or put my hand in a circle before class to count down from three and shout "tone house" at the top of my lungs. Tone House does what it does incredibly well but like I said, this isn't for me in the long run. I'm not that peppy, unfortunately!
The workout was great, it's tough but doable and definitely gets you using muscles you might otherwise neglect. If you want a hard workout, don't hesitate to go to Tone House, it does what it promises!
The locker rooms and showers after the workout were miraculous and refreshing. Perhaps the nicest shower facilities I've seen in a NYC gym (and I've been to a lot of them!) The shampoo is heavenly!!

Most intense workout in NYC by far. The coaches are so friendly and make you work hard! It is definitely for more advanced athletes, but they welcome everyone with excitement. Be prepared to sweat, burn, and feel great afterwards.

This place is awesome. I've been to two different 101 classes here using my classpass trial and I have really enjoyed both sessions. I had 2 different sets of trainers for upper body and strength training and they were all phenomenal. I would recommend arriving a few mins early like they suggest because you will need it. The warm-ups are.....well lets just say you will want to leave after the warm-ups. There are showers and lockers available. My only wish is that the classes were a bit shorter so I can come during my lunch break.

I love to hate myself - that's why I go here. Only kidding. Tone House is one of the most challenging workouts in the city and is on point on all fronts: coaches, classes and facilities.
Lots of friends ask me how this is different from a Barry's (set to open up very close by) and I have to say that there is no comparison and the target demographic largely does not overlap. In my opinion, Tone House and Barry's are certainly not substitute goods unless you want to risk being disappointed by the latter. Class approach is completely different and the workout/environment at Tone House is not one you can replicate on your own. Think smaller groups, team oriented atmosphere and more variety of circuits to challenge yourself in new ways (i.e. sleds, TRX, ropes, weird resistance bands, gliders, sand bags).
Tone House delivers consistently excellent workouts with a countable amount of dedicated coaches/instructors. Barry's on the other hand is a larger chain, and in my personal opinion, is all over the place. When you attend a class at Barry's Bootcamp, I find that it's what I imagine is a similar experience to buying a used car: you could potentially get a 'lemon'. I definitely don't like the swing and a miss concept when it comes to exercise classes. At Tone House you'll never have to be worried that an instructor will be lack luster and you'll have to have to think 'it's what you make of it' to make yourself feel better that you just spent money to encourage yourself to sweat to death.
On a more random note, the change rooms and showers feel like being at Batman's house. They also play the Jurassic Park theme in the lounge area just outside the change rooms. LOL :)

This is the hardest workout in all of New York City, and I have been to 100+ different studios and classes in the city. This is an hour-long sports conditioning class that has you moving non-stop from start to finish. It is a team-based workout that will leave you feeling challenged and accomplished.

This is one of the highest intensity studio classes in town. I've only been to two days of the week (each day and each class is different) but all classes have been metabolic burners and allow for strength training. I like the focus on training as a team, and cheering classmates on. The class feels like an intense sports conditioning workout, and it doesn't require technical knowledge of weightlifting or gymnastics as you would find in crossfit.

Tone House does not eff around. As I'm writing this review on my phone my arms are shaking because of how hard my workout was. This is like insanity plus crossfit on steroids. I wanted to cry during out warmups because I was already out of breath and it hadn't even been five minutes yet.
I also knew I was in for a killer workout because my cycling instructor at a very fancy cycling studio was working out with us today! Each class is different and I went to upper body and core.
Warmup included running and jumping over bags and dropping to the floor and repeating that over and over. It's so much fun though as the studio is really nice and had fancy lighting (comparable to Barry's).
It actually got a little bit easier after the warmup and we did more plyometric stuff. There are hardly any breaks in between workouts so there were moments I felt like dying. But at the end of the workout it was absolte euphoria so it's worth it!
