If you’re thinking about joining, just do it. My daughter is 6 and has zero gymnastics experience - but she’s getting some! This class is the highlight of her week, so much so that I wish there were two a week. Great place for your kids to meet new friends, learn something new, and every single coach that interacts with the children is so great with them. 10/10 recommend.

Twist n flip is a fantastic place for all ages of gymnastics. The best part of their program is that they evaluate the children every few months to see if they’ve mastered the skills they need to move on, so no child will be held back strictly due to age. We love it there and love the coaches who are very experienced!!!

Our son went to the preschool program and we can’t say enough amazing things about the curriculum, the teachers, and the facility itself. The staff is kind and patient with this age group and my son loved going there!

Wonderful coaches who really get to know each kid and meet them at their level. In addition to weekly classes, TnF goes above and beyond at parent's night out events and birthday parties. My daughter's birthday was amazing, everything from decorations to the kids engaged and having a great time, the entire time. Would definitely recommend to beginner through advanced skill level kids.

My husband and I went to watch our twin grand children. They had so much fun while learning how to do gymnastics. they had smiles on their faces the whole time we were watching. The teachers were excellent and spent lots of time with each of the children.

Absolutely Disappointing Experience.
As a parent, I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my experience at Twist N' Flip Gymnastics Academy was so appalling that I feel compelled to share it. My nearly 4-year-old son attended just one class, and I was utterly shocked by the lack of patience and understanding from the staff.

It's well-known that young children can have difficulty listening and following instructions, so I expected a gymnastics academy specializing in teaching kids to be prepared for this. Unfortunately, that was far from the case. While the instructor initially tried to help my son, her patience seemed to run out after only 10 minutes.

What happened next was utterly unacceptable. The secretary approached my wife, scolded her in front of everyone, and demanded that we remove our son from the premises because he "couldn't be controlled." This type of behavior is unprofessional and uncalled for, especially considering that my son was the only student in the class and posed no danger or distraction to others.

In my opinion, activities like gymnastics are perfect for children of this age to expend their excess energy and have fun, but the staff at Twist N' Flip seem to have missed that memo. As a result of this terrible experience, I will not be returning and strongly advise other parents to look elsewhere for a more understanding and compassionate environment for their children.

My sister and I both love gymnastics. I started gymnastics at age 5 but stopped for two years because of covid. (This is my sister's first year.)We both had Coach Haley( In my opinion the best) but my sister started with Coach Trinity.

My daughter has been a student at Twist N Flip Colonie for about a year and LOVES it. She has learned so much, gained skill and confidence, gotten stronger, and learned to persist and practice. She’s also learned more soft skills like working with different kids, taking turns, being patient, and watching and listening.
She started briefly with Coach Emma who was so kind and encouraging, then quickly moved up to Coach Amber’s class. My daughter LOVES Coach Amber and her current coach, Coach Alex so much. It is impressive to watch them work with all the kids. They know how to engage them, keep them interested, and challenge them- especially if they get distracted or have a lot of energy they need to burn off. As a teacher myself, I appreciate watching Amber and Alex lead their gymnasts in class as I see how I can translate similar interactions to my own non-gymnastics courses.
I didn’t see myself becoming a gymnastics mom, but I’m so happy we found this gym for my daughter.

My soon to be 6 year old daughter has been taking classes for 1.5 years. The staff of Colonie Twist and Flip, specifically Coach Amber, have been wonderful, caring for her development as a gymnast on the mat and growing her confidence along the way. Being in the gym is among the greatest joys of her week; she has taken shooting stars, rising stars and is now onto shining stars. Although she was promoted to level 2 late last spring, she wasn't feeling quite comfortable and the gym was willing to work with us to hold her back until she felt more comfortable with the "bigger kids". This is a sign of a gym that truly cares about the kids.

We have been coming to Twist’n Flip for over a year now and absolutely love it! My daughter age 7 has improved her skill set immensely since joining. My daughter is on the quieter side and Coach Trinity has done an amazing job connecting with her. Coach Trinity is truly skilled in working with kids and developing their skills and helping the child reach their individual goals. She always makes time to provide one-on-one instruction during classes along with group instruction. She is uplifting, motivating and overall a great role model.
My other daughter age 3 who also has Coach Trinity is in love with her gymnastics class and is absolutely ecstatic on the day she has gymnastics. Unlike my 7 year old, my 3 year old is rambunctious and has a hard time focusing and following instructions. Coach Trinity has the biggest heart and is beyond accepting of tiny tots with big personalities. She embraces the craziness of this younger age group and is creative in her lessons. She keeps the kids engaged, moving and having fun.
We have had a very positive experience and would highly recommend Twist’n Flip. We adore Coach Trinity, but all of the coaches we have interacted with have been amazing. They are truly dedicated and you can tell they love what they do and enjoy working with kids.
In looking and comparing to other gyms the size may turn you away, but don’t let it. It may be smaller than some of the other local gyms, but they have everything you need to learn and grow as a gymnast. They utilize the space well and are always cleaning. There are also 2 viewing areas where you can watch the classes.

My daughter has been attending Twist'N Flip since she was 20 months old. It has been almost 2 years and she still looks forward to "nastics" with Coach Trinity every week. Coach Trinity is amazing and her love for coaching is visible to all!
If you need flexibility, Twist' N Flip is the place to join! They offer several classes for each level to best fit your schedule. I can't forget to mention the opportunity to make up classes when you miss a regular scheduled class. All of the coaches are very friendly and experts at what they do!

Coach Trinity has been working with my daughter for at least a year now. She is wonderful with all the kids - patient and supportive and encouraging. Teaches them great skills while making sure they all have a lot of fun. She is my daughters favorite!

Twist N Flip Colonie really is a great place. They do a wonderful job with training and just being good all around models for their gymnasts. I would recommend their gym for anyone interested in just trying out gymnastics or more serious about competition. The staff are all really wonderful!

My daughter loves gymnastics. We have tried a couple of different gyms, but she didn't like some of the coaches. But, at Twist'N Flip my daughter has fell in love with the tiny gym. Don't let the size of the gym turn you away. Rachael and her staff are amazing and fun. Give it a try!!
