I’ve been attending semi-private workout classes here for the past 6 months, and the results have been incredible. As someone who’s been working out consistently for years, I was amazed by the changes I saw: inches off my waist, a visibly more toned body, and a personalized nutrition plan that really helped me reach my goals.
The coaching team is friendly, supportive, and truly listens. From the beginning, they took the time to understand what I wanted to focus on and tailored the workouts accordingly. You can tell the coaches work well together. There’s a great sense of teamwork and consistency across the board.
If you’re looking for real results in a positive, encouraging environment, I can’t recommend these classes enough!

I have never liked or loved working out with weights and conditioning…until now. I’m so impressed with the personalized support I get at Upfit, without it being a “no pain no gain” militant style approach to health. Every trainer is attentive (not pushy) and very well educated in how to work with different bodies and each of our individualized goals. There is nothing pretentious here - it’s welcoming to all bodies, all ages, all levels of fitness, all diversities.

I've been at UpFit for a little over two months now - 3 x a week - and the results have been transformative. Terrific coaches in a small group setting. A 5 - 10 minute group warmup and then each person (no more than 5 in a class) in their own unique workout custom designed for each individual and their unique needs depending on where they are at and when they came into the program. It's super motivating - but you aren't trying to keep up, you're all just training in the same space with the coach keeping track of everyone's progress throughout the hour long session. Coaches are excellent, totally knowledgeable, totally helpful. Can't believe it's only been two months or so because the work has been worth it and is evident. Highly recommend!

I've been training with UpFit for 2.5 years and the coaching here is very high quality. I specifically sought out the small group format: they create personalized 6-week programs for my goals, hold me accountable and give close attention when I need it - they oversee up to 5 people at once. This makes more sense to me than doing 1:1 coaching every time I train. Coaches are very knowledgeable, held to high standards, collaborative and they push me to train harder. Highly recommended!

They are very good at keeping me accountable including nudging via text if I am tempted to skip a workout. Exactly the accountability I need. And the personalized workouts etc are great. What truly sets Upfit apart is how tailored it is to individual needs, especially for beginners like me. The staff took the time to understand my fitness goals (which, initially, were just 'to feel healthier!') and crafted a personalized plan that felt challenging and motivating but it is achievable. I've been training at Upfit for a bit more than a year now and can really recommend it. I had one-on-one sessions with a personal trainer before moving to NYC, but actually prefer the small group sessions at Upfit now. The coaches are all very professional and dedicated, and there's an easygoing community of regular clients. If you're unsure about joining a gym and don't know how to get started on working out regularly (that was me!), it's the perfect place - everyone is very friendly and supportive, making it easy to get into the habit of attending regularly. They're also flexible about the duration of the different plans, which can be put on hold when necessary (I'm on the "3x/week for 3months" plan, but travel regularly for work - so I really appreciate that I can take a break while I'm away and take longer than 3 months to actually use up my sessions).

Trained there for almost two years. I saw significant improvement over my strength, power, stability, and sports performance.
Verdict: Great coaches, individually customized programs, encouraging vibe and cost friendly.
Their model is a combination of group training (much cheaper than 1v1 personal training) and individual customization (you’re prescribed your own program every class depending on your need). Coaches teach and spot each individual’s workout.
Coaches are experienced, attentive, and caring. They pay great attention to your forms and workload, and they are particularly concerned to avoid you getting injured. At the same time, they keep track of your progress and motivate you to work harder to achieve your own goals.
In terms of programming, they work with you closely to understand your goal, your advantage, what you are weak at, and past injuries. Then they design you a program based on how many times a week you workout. Everything is well tracked on apps. The program changes every 4-6weeks to keep you entertained while getting enough progress.
The range of programming is wide and really individualized. I have trained for strength, hypertrophy, power, core, balance, quickness, and cardio. You discuss with coaches your focus, and you can combine focuses (e.g. Monday/Friday for strength, Wednesday for power, everyday finishes with some conditioning). Truly individually customized.
One thing I particularly like is their scientific approach. They seemed to follow the newest findings in sports science and give you objective answers regarding programming, stretching, nutrition etc. They also design the program to be fairly challenging but never discouraging.
Group mates are all friendly and mutually motivating. They range from absolute beginners (like me and my wife when we first joined) to elite powerlifters. Many beginners joined and stayed ever since.
Location: they have three locations. Midtown is near KTown, fairly spacious with power racks, benches, barbells, trap bars, kettle bells, bikes/rowers and almost everything. Bathroom/shower rooms can get crowded at peak hours but they are clean and well maintained.

Excellent experience with Upfit Training during my recent trip to NYC. I was in the city for a week and reached out to a few personal training companies towards the end of my stay to enquire about a one off training session. I was quickly contacted by Josh, the Studio Manager, who offered me a few times at Upfit's two studios. Josh ran through what I hoped to get out of the session, my current fitness level etc. and booked me in for a session with David. The session with David was brilliant - he tailored the workout to exactly what I needed and I left feeling great/got what I'd hoped out of the session. I was really impressed that even though I was only able to book a one off session as I was just visiting, the guys treated me as a valued customer and really seemed to care about me having a positive experience. And just in general, it's a great studio and felt like a very welcoming/supportive/unpretentious environment to train in (sometimes gyms/fitness studios can feel a bit intimidating). Whole experience was brilliant - shout out especially to David and Josh who were great!

My Journey: I've tried working with a trainer before but never felt comfortable and I was never able to push myself when working out alone. I tried the group training sessions with Upfit and really liked the balance of having someone there to correct my form but being able to workout more independently. I feel much more confident working out on my own now. The team does put an emphasis on building your conditioning, which at first sucked for me but then I really started to see the value in it as I started lifting heavier. Overall, I'm in the best shape of my life and I plan to keep this momentum going on my own and check back in with the Upfit Team when I need some extra motivation, change in workout program, or need to adjust my fitness goals.

Wes, played a huge role in my journey. He constantly encouraged me to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of, while also helping me overcome my fears about certain exercises. His focus on form and understanding my body's queues made all the difference, and I can’t thank him enough for the guidance and confidence he instilled in me.
I also have to give a special shoutout to Chris, his energy is infectious, and he never failed to check in and make sure I was progressing in the way that I needed. His care and enthusiasm for each member’s journey really stood out to me.
Although I haven’t been able to return due to personal reasons, Upfit is always on my mind, and I look forward to coming back as soon as I can. The team here has created something truly special, and I'm grateful to have been part of this incredible gym.

I joined Upfit a little over a year and a half ago and have seen such tremendous changes that I can’t imagine a time when I wasn’t training there. No coach is alike, yet they all care about pushing your limits to see real progress, while always making sure your form is good, and turning each and every session into a fun challenge. They bring the energy time and again! As a result, Upfit feels like a safe space to train and working out has become a true pleasure! I started with UpFit's online small group classes and switched to one-on-one virtual personal training sessions weekly with Coach Brian.
When I first started training with UpFit, I didn’t expect it to be much different than my experience with other personal fitness trainers, but I was pleasantly shocked at how different it was. UpFit tailors training to each individual. Even in the group classes, each person had their own program – very different than most group fitness classes where everyone does the same thing at the same time.
Brian sends me my personalized workout ahead of our session via the TrainHeroic app, which allows me to prepare in my mind before we even start. He adjusts my workouts periodically, so they remain challenging and I have made constant progress in strength and fitness.
During our session, Brian watches me like a hawk and provides excellent coaching tips and corrections. One of the things I really appreciate about Brian is that he doesn’t just say “do it this way” – he explains the reason why. He really knows his stuff! In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, Brian has a positive attitude and is always encouraging at the same time pushing me to new levels. He also practices what he preaches and is committed to a healthy, fit lifestyle in his personal life.

3 months ago, I saw an ad on Instagram for Upfit that led to hopping on an initial consult call with Wes without much expectation.
Wes wasn’t the first coach that I’ve had a consult call with before, BUT Wes was the first coach that made me feel fully heard and understood. It didn’t feel gimmicky. It feel like just another sales pitch. Wes really took the time to listen to my fitness journey, where I was struggling, and the goals I wanted to achieve. He was able to provide an immediate assessment of what type of program would be best fit based on my fitness experience and goals and explain why. His empathy and ability to communicate his expertise convinced me to take a chance on joining with a 3 month 2x week plan.
You jump right in, and you better be ready to put in the hard work because you’ll be tested not just physically, but also mentally.
My goal was to body recomp and get myself back into the gym as my happy place and improve across the board in terms of mental, emotional, and physical health. Financial commitment really gets that motivation going. 😝
I’ve really enjoyed my time at Upfit and am very happy with all that I’ve gained, learned, and accomplished here!
✨I’m leaving with the motivation to keep up the fitness routine on my own with 3-4x a week with a sprinkle of climbing and tennis.
✨I feel more confident in the exercises that we’ve done together in terms of form. I also learned about the different progressions (eg RDL to trap bar deadlifts).
✨I’ve expanded my repertoire of different types of workouts. Before Upfit, I had never tried EMOM or 30:30. I didn’t even know what they were. I also learned new exercises like banded palloffs and ski erg.
✨I’ve gained a better understanding of how to structure programs. (Thanks for the tips, Brian!) I never used periodization before, but now I know to!
While my experience and learning have been more focused on “in the gym”, the team does provide guidance for “in the kitchen” with nutrition planning and understanding how to build sustainable habits. You can direct where to focus on strategizing for success depending on your experience and needs.

Fantastic exercise science professionals who will help you work out effectively, correctly, and keep pushing you to advance in your training without getting injured.
I’ve dabbled in Classpass studios, YouTube workouts, working out on my own, online personal training - but I either got bored and became inconsistent, or hated my programming. I’ve never been as consistent and enjoyed my programming as much as now. I've worked with what I thought were excellent coaches in the past, so was surprised when in my very first session Wes was able to teach me some basic ways to improve my form that took my workouts to a new level. I’ve been going to Upfit a little over 3 months and this place has given me the biggest kick in the pants I needed. I am not a workout obsessed person, far from it. I needed someone to motivate and challenge me through this process. The Upfit trainers are amazing, I have worked with them ALL. I started off with individual sessions and they encouraged me to move to group (which was cheaper and I secretly wanted to stay in individual). They are all fabulous and encourage you to bring your best each day. You learn technique, form, and build strength in each workout. They want you to grow and really own your workout each time (this is an education too). I can feel the difference in my clothes, I built up muscle and loss a lot of fat! I have been going to sessions at UpFit since November and in just under 3 months I can already feel slight differences and improvements in my strength and stamina. The small group trainings are the perfect combination of 1:1 attention from trainers and a fitness class setting. They are technique focused and make sure you are building to more advanced moves only after acquiring mastery of easier moves. I've been gaining weight and dieting repeatedly all my life, and always struggled to keep working out regularly because I had poor forms and couldn't lift heavy weights without injuring myself. I decided it was time to get some professional help, and it has been a life changing experience training here with Wes, Paul, Regina and Brian for the past 3 months. I've already lost 2.5 inches off my waist and have gotten much stronger on all of my lifts. I plan to keep training with them for as long as I live in NYC.
They individualize your training sessions according to your goals, and adjust them as you progress. TBH, the first 1-2 months were extremely brutal because I was so out of shape after a year of staying home due to the pandemic, but now my mental & physical toughness have improved so much that I somehow wake up at 5:30AM to go train with these guys at 6 AM 3 times a week and feel super energized afterwards (I've never considered myself a morning person before). They will keep increasing your workout intensity to make sure you continue improving, which means workouts will never get easy. But they push & support you the right way and you can get so much out of this place as long as you put in the work and keep communicating with them in terms of what you are working towards, what you are struggling with, etc. Small group dynamic is also nice b/c sometimes just having other people around you who are also pushing hard is enough to get you over the especially difficult sets.

I had personal trainers before and I think this is the BEST! The coaches are friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The TrainHeoric App is a very good tool as you know the name of each exercise and you see what the exercise is like before doing it. I came in with almost no strength training / fitness experience with a vague goal of getting "fitter". Wes first worked with me to do a diagnostic test, narrow down my goals and set up a dedicated program of my workouts. During the sessions, every instructor ensured my form was correct and that I'm pushing myself just the right amount. Each workout session was tailored and tweaked to match my goals, strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, Upfit also offered nutritional coaching which has been super valuable to me.

I've definitely lost the pandemic weight and started to gain more muscle mass as I've progressed through the months of working out at UpFit.
The small group trainings are very efficient. You get a set of personalized workout list customized by the trainers for you ahead of time.Your workouts are catered to your capabilities and goals so it's never similar to someone else's. Even if it's a small group format, you still feel that you're getting a one-on-one personal training because the trainers stay on top of your form and continue to push you so you can get to the next level.
The trainers also genuinely care about your well-being and treat every client a member of the family. We sometimes get invited to fun activities like bowling or beach days to break the monotony of life.
The gym itself is very efficiently laid out and well maintained. It's clean and always organized. You will rarely see unused equipment laying around as trainers and members are disciplined in tidying up. It's also very conveniently located near Penn Station and Herald Square.

I have been going to UpFit for well over 2 years now. I started going because they were across the street from where I used to live. Now that I live on the opposite side of town, I actually still go twice a week, walk an hour there and back or take the subway. That's how into them I am! I have worked with many trainers at places like Equinox and other similar gyms and have never had this level of excellence. My trainer Paul creates custom programs for me which he evolves every few weeks and pushes me to my brink. I have never been in such good shape. What's great about their business is that it's small, members know and encourage each other without judgement and trainers are very educated and attentive. It's a very personal and personalized experience, whether 1 on 1 classes (which is what I do) or small groups. I could never go back to a regular gym after this. Let's hope I don't have to move any further!

I have a history of getting injured after getting a couple months into working out, but they focus so heavily on form, warmups, and working around certain ailments. Highly recommend this spot! Wes is one of the most knowledgeable and creative trainers with whom I have ever worked. As someone currently working in the Health Profession, I have met many trainers who can craft a good workout but lack a thorough understanding of body bio mechanics and what to do if your client has anatomical restrictions. Wes noticed my ROM issues right away and had no problem working with them.
Wes' varied fitness background means that he has worked with all fitness levels and abilities. For example, I'm currently working to gain strength and am only able to train at a time when he has other clients present, clients who are significantly better conditioned than me. This would be a train wreck for a more novice trainer, but Wes is a pro and arranges the session so everyone reaches their peak training range.
I don't know how he makes it work so smoothly, and I don't need to know. It's magic and it's working!

If you are looking for a great workout in a clean renovated gym with personal attention and great energy from the trainer, you have found your gym! Paul knows his stuff and manages multiple clients with ease. He is commanding enough to make you do your shit and work hard but he’s not a know it all gym jerk. I’m beyond impressed by the professionalism, knowledge and dedication of both Westley and Paul. Wes and Paul are the two best trainers I've ever worked with, hands down! Both of them are professional, educated, knowledgeable, attentive organized, encouraging and very fun to train with! They do an amazing job putting together a well-rounded and individualized fitness plan to help you achieve your own personal goals. They pay close attention to their clients and work within their limitations while still managing to push their limits so they get the most out of each and every session. My girlfriend and I both learned a great deal about our bodies and how to train the right way in order to maximize results! This is the kind of training program most people would enjoy doing and stick to because it utilizes the latest routines and technology and gets you real results! Plus the guys are awesome dudes themselves and are very passionate about what they do. This is how personal training should be! I would highly recommend them.

I first met Wes in the gym, seeing him train other people. At the time, I was just running, never lifting weights and knew nothing about working out in general. I decided to train with Wes after I wasn’t seeing any changes on my own. He did an assessment session with me and saw where I was at, physically and mentally, and asked me what I wanted to achieve. He personalized my workout to my body type and my goals. He is super knowledgeable and really does it in a safe way that you never feel like you are going to injure yourself, which is so important when working out. I would 100% recommend him and UpFit academy to anyone that is looking for a change in their body and also an change in their attitude towards working out. I now love going to the gym and have seen significant changes! Do yourself a favor and work out with them!

I started training with Wes a liitle bit more than a year ago and I must say that I am totally different person from then - in a good way of course :). In the past I had been exercising by myself (taking classes, jogging, etc) but have never results like this! I started weightlifting and he guided me through the process - he paid attention to every movement making sure I had the correct form so I didn't injure myself, after that increasing the weight or repetitions. He knows exactly which are my limits and he knows when to push harder - I kind of hate that sometimes lol!
I feel stronger capable of doing stuff I could have never imagined! My lifestyle has entirely changed and training has become a priority and I feel great! I would totally recommend him!

Upfit training academy is the best fitness training you will find in the tri-state area. The trainers Wes and Paul are highly knowledgable trainers who are no nonsense people that will push you past your boundries. I've been working with Wes for 3 weeks now and the results i seen are ridiculously great. A mixture of strength and cardio they know what each person needs and they will tailor the training to your specific needs and you will see results. I started training with Wes about 9 months ago and it was the best decision I have ever made! I've been on many diets, exercise programs and have had personal trainers in the past but NOTHING at all compares to results I have achieved in training with Wes. I dropped 60 lbs since training with him and in the best shape I have been in over 15 years. I have also gained so much more than just weight loss as he has helped to bring focus and balance in my life with his constant support. He challenges me to push beyond what I think my limits are. He has guided me through heavy lifting and running both of which I never did in the my many years of exercising! I am always still amazed at how far I have come from where I started. Wes is also extremely knowledge in nutrition, anatomy of the body, up-to-date exercise techniques as well ensuring that his workouts are customized to your needs and achieving your goals. I've been training and competing in mixed martial arts for a few years,but I always felt that something was missing in my competition/training strategy,I met Westley Chow training mma and he helped me to realize that strength and conditioning needed to be implemented to compliment my training,in 2 years I've been able to change my body in so many aspects like: from doing 2 pull ups to 12 non stop,deadlift or squat 3 times my body weight for up to 8 reps,I'm able to perform up to 3 1 1/2 training sessions(jiu jitsu,boxing and S&C) a day without feeling the need to stop due to exhaustion,Im able to breathe,sleep and perform my daily activities better than I used to,the best part of training with Wes and Paul Park is that these 2 guys are the perfect combination of a personal trainer,they have been working in the fitness industry for more than 10 years with hundreds of clients and they are really committed to change your life and make you a healthier and stronger and a more confident individual using their amazing and fun training systems,on top of each exercise you'll be performing under their supervision,you'll be receiving a lot of information on how your body reacts or change to each workout,you'll learn a lot of new things from the fitness industry from them,these guys are amazing coaches and motivators!!
