We are a customized movement training studio focusing on private, small group and larger group Pilates classes and Gyrotonic classes. We also offer Gyrotonic teacher training in house and continuing education with international and NYC based master trainers. We have licensed acupuncture with cupping, Guasha, ear seeding, and Tuina. Deep tissue and Swedish massage, house calls are available. Community acupuncture is offered weekly, as is group pilates reformer classes and Gyrokinesis group classes.

observing siobhan roberts next to a gyrotonic tower is a thrill, because as she conducts my session, and guides me to better alignment and connectivity, i feel grounded, safe, and able to soar, again, even with occasional arthritis and neuropathy issues
among other master trainers with whom i studied, she is unique in her intuitive approach to the essence of why i am not moving well in some places, and offers solutions which are accessible
siobhan has credentials par excellence for a master trainer; and she continues to hone her craft as a seeker of more knowledge at deeper levels of anatomy, physiology, and movement disciplines….
her studio is a treasure trove of equipment with “accoutrements”, i.e., every accessory one might imagine, and all to enhance experiencing one’s body, moving freely, the most comfortable way
new to her practice, i am a grateful student, and yes, already a devoteé… with siobhan, i dare to imagine my optimum abilities, and to anyone contemplating the same, i say make an appointment!

I started with Autumn in a class and am also taking private sessions to try to work on my mobility and pain management. I didn’t think I could do it, and have surprised myself with how much I enjoy these sessions and how good I feel afterwards. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is hesitating dipping their toe in the water with Pilates. Autumn is wonderful (and all of the instructors have great energy). She’s really working with me on my physical challenges, and has given me a lot of confidence both in myself as well as physical abilities. This place is a real gem. People of all abilities should try it out to improve their health and wellness. Highly recommend.

Finding Upstate Movement & Wellness has been a godsend! Having practiced the Gyrotonic method under several Master Trainers, Siobhan stands out as a true inspiration: her clarity, knowledge and encouragement makes every session meaningful and joyful. Her studio is fully equipped and emanates a welcoming energy. Additionally she strives to stay current on all that’s wellness related with a treasure trove of products that she first tries on herself.

I’ve been taking Pilates Tower and Gyrotonic for about a year and look forward to every class. The studio has a great mix of calm, focus and energy and excellent equipment. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional and very attentive to individual needs, even in the small group setting. I’ve worked mostly with Jenn and Lori and they make everyone feel welcome from beginner to advanced. Jenn has pushed me to be my best. I’ve gained both core strength and flexibility and highly recommend them!

We have been with this studio 2x/wk since 2019 for pilates, gyrotonics and massage.the fitness program is precisely tailored to individual needs— generally or if you have an injury or probably on a specific day and is always fun and varied. I have been a client of Siobhan’s for over five years(wow hard to believe) She is a very talented Gyrotonic master trainer and is always educating herself. She has seen me through two knee replacements and many other arthritic conditions, making adjustments as needed for me to get the best from my aging body. It has kept me moving and feeling my best when I’m leaving the studio
I have taken advantage of other offerings such as acupuncture from Adina and analysis from Dr Gotz.
While I was having a knee replacement I had my husband Ted fill in for me. Well, two years later he is still seeing Siobhan! I can say We really enjoy this place

I've been doing Pilates since 1995. Ive gone to studios in NY, LA, Chicago, but this is my favorite.
Jen is an incredible teacher who is highly attuned to my how my body moves. She's always looking for the best way to express corrections so I can integrate them.
Lori and all the other teachers are knowledgable, kind and patient.
The studio is lovely and has a wealth of equipment.

Absolutely obsessed with this studio! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is calm, welcoming, and super clean. The attention to detail is unreal — everything from the lighting to the music feels thoughtfully curated to help you truly focus and unwind.

I started Pilates at Upstate Movement and Wellness this past fall, and it has truly changed every aspect of my of life. Not only am I in the best physical shape I have been in in years, but it’s become a place I really look forward to spending time every week. Instructors are incredibly welcoming and make classes so fun! They really pay attention to each individual in the class, making sure we are getting the most out of each exercise and keeping us motivated. If anyone is in need of a massage then Shannon is hands down the very best in Dutchess County! Her attention to detail combined with her expertise and knowledge of her trade is phenomenal. After just one session with her my chronic hip pain had subsided and my hip mobility has increased. Shannon truly cares about her clients and is committed to doing everything she possibly can to help in an individual's recovery. I 100% recommend her.

The Pilates Reformer class with Shannon George was amazing!!! I was in a trio with two other students. We each had different range of motion and spring tension and she gave each of us AMAZING cues and personal attention to hit our cutting edge!!! I loved it! Her playlist was subtle but awesome and her energy was so uplifting 🌟 I’m still chuckling at her clever cueing names and positive energy. Hooked!! Can’t wait for next session. I couldn’t recommend Lori and Millbrook Movement & Wellness more. I started seeing Lori for Pilates sessions to recover from injuries from polo, she helped me to build back my mobility and strength. I’ve continued to do weekly sessions to improve my performance and target specific goals! I feel more balanced and strong than with any other exercise regimen as well as less prone to injury or strain.

Engaging in a routine pilates practice at Millbrook Movement & Wellness has been transformative for body and mind. My classes with Lori are always the hi-light of my week. Jeff Freeze literally put me back in shape!!! I was recovering from a torn muscle and he worked on each one of them and now I feel I can conquer the world. He also put me in shape for skiing, my favorite sport, and I feel much more confident down the slopes!!

Learning from Lori to be aware of how my body moves and how scoliosis impacts on my body has been such a valuable learning experience.

Lori is such an amazing and passionate teacher! She takes the time to show you each move and helps you adjust if you need it. Everyone in the class gets personal attention which is so rare in most group classes. She also mixes up the exercises so they are fun and you never get bored. Love this place! I’ve been a devout follower of Siobhan’s for years and especially love taking her private classes. After taking a brief hiatus, because of spinal surgery I’m ready to start back. I have been coming to Walking Tall for 18 months. I started because I had severe spinal problems, not helped by a year of doctor's, pills, or physical therapy. After a month with Dave working on my fascia, and Pilates, I walked pain free, no limping. I now have added Siobhan, whose expertise and deep knowledge and experience in Gyrotonics has brought my flexibility to a new level, increased space between my joints and vertebrae. I had seen orthopedists and neeurologists, chiropractors and accupuncture. I had considered surgery! If you are experiencing chronic pain, please consider coming in to Walking Tall and talk about how they can help you. It completely changed my body!! I was in tears, walked past the studio, came in as a last resort, and now all that pain and incapacitation are just a bad memory. Try it. Do this for yourself.
