Lots of equipment and kept clean…..still equipment available during busy hours, however; they do lack any amount on honesty and integrity when you sign up for contracts. I got mid level contract and was told that you can cancel with no obligation after 3 months, however, I found out that all contacts are a year and cancellation has 80 dollar fee…..had several friends with same issue……just recommend read everything you sign and they are just trying to get you in the door. Once you sign up everything is out door for honesty.

This gym is truly the best in the area, not just for its top-notch equipment, but for the incredible people who work here. The managers and staff go above and beyond to create a supportive, welcoming environment, and their kindness has meant so much to me since moving upstate. The facility is always clean, the atmosphere is positive, and there are more than enough machines so you never feel limited during your workout. If you’re looking for a place that feels both professional and uplifting, this gym IT!!

Adequate gym but do not expect staff to provide assistance in any way shape or form if you have an issue of any kind. I was verbally assaulted by another member who hogged equipment for over 30 minutes and staff shrugged shoulders and offered no help.

Nice gym. Gets packed at peak hours, but that's not necessarily a ding on them. Well air-conditioned. Main issue is music - crappy and way too loud. It's 2025. Everyone has headphones and wants to listen to their own stuff, not your speakers.

I love going to Vent for the classes. I never had a problem getting into classes and now they're always constantly booked!!!! I can't sit on my phone and wait for the short window for them to open up because they book up before I even get a chance to sign up!! I work, so I don't have the option of going to class whenever I want. It's very frustrating, and never was like this in the past. Something needs to change because what am I paying for if I can never get into the classes I enjoy taking!!!

I do not recommend this gym if you are looking to enjoy a workout with modern fitness equipment. The life fitness equipment has been there since it was golds 15 years ago, they finally got a couple extra leg machines and free weight benches but definitely not worth the raise in membership dues. The squat racks that were added are always being used by the high school kids who do 15 sets and just sit there hanging out. I have been to gyms in Vegas, and Nashville, they are light years ahead of this place, they have the best in new equipment, variety and enforce gym rules. The music is always blasting and literally drowns out your ear buds. The music selection is absolutely terrible, it’s that trap hip hop music that nobody wants to listen to. The locker room constantly smells like cat urine, the bathroom stalls are always dirty. On the weekends you might get lucky to have paper towels in the dispenser. The water fountain with the water bottle filler is broken every other day or it will say change filter for 4-5 days before staff will change it, and if you know the type of fountain it gives a warning before the filter needs to be replaced. The men’s sauna has been a disaster for over a year. They got a new heating element only for that to break, or have some sort of electrical issue, and they left the warped door in place with the gaps so the heat escapes. The kicker is the fact there is absolutely no gym etiquette enforced. The kids do not re rack their weights, they hangout on the machines playing on their phones and refuse to get off. The staffs answer is members need to police other members however when you say anything the kids are rude and disrespectful and challenge you. The staff could care less if you cancel your membership because they know they will sign up a dozen more suburbanites who will show up for 2-3 weeks and then never come back but will continue paying the monthly membership. It is unfortunate that this is the only gym north of the twin bridges. What it comes down to is lack of effort or care from management and the owners (the Lia’s), seems like whatever they can do to keep cost low and income high they will do and do it at the sacrifice of good members. If the traffic wasn’t bad i recommend joining ABC.

The staff are always super nice and welcoming. The womens bathrooms are clean and chill. There’s a variety of equipment and lots of cardio ones upstairs and a big stretching area. Literally nobody cares what anyone else is doing and focuses on themselves which is refreshing. Also if you don’t understand how to use something just look at the stickers on the machine which shows you what muscles or targets and has pictures of how to use it that’s all:)

Vent Fitness in Clifton Park offers a wide range of exercise equipment, well maintained, with disinfectants and paper towels readily at hand, in a clean and quiet environment. Clients focus on their exercise routines and respectfully allow others to focus on theirs. The staff at the front desk and the energy bar are exceptionally competent, courteous, and helpful. A visit to Vent is always a rewarding experience!

I was a member of Vent Fitness for several years, but started taking classes and really working on my fitness goals in July 2021.
The gym in Clifton Park has a great atmosphere--It's clean and there's a variety of machines and equipment to suit everyone. They offer many amenities that I enjoyed like the massage beds, tanning and shake bar. The front desk associates and managers are friendly and personable-they greet you with a smile and know your name when you come in!
I especially loved taking BodyPump, BodyCombat and E3 level classes at Vent. The instructors/trainers are motivating, energetic and care about your fitness goals. I lost 60+ pounds and I'm so grateful for where I'm at right now because of going to Vent.

I have been going to the Clifton Park Vent for almost a year now and I am enjoying my membership. The equipment is well maintained and the locker room is always clean. I have not tried any of the classes, so I can not speak to those. I usually arrive between 730am - 830am during the week and have yet to struggle finding open equipment to use which is nice. The other members are very respectful which creates a comfortable atmosphere. Staff is always cordial and helpful which I appreciate.

Went here for over a decade and I ended up getting banned from all locations due to an incident in the sauna that I didn’t instigate. It’s the classic two sides of the story but I genuinely was passive the whole time until he tried to come at me. They ended up taking his side because of how upset he was and since he (probably in his late 30’s) had the cops called on me who is a kid in his early twenties who literally just used self defense. The owners of this location are the typical out of touch egotistical drones. Seems to be a general consensus that these two chumps are very condescending to other people. Well at least the lady is. Esposito is a little more down to earth but I don’t agree with the final decision to ban me from all locations when the whole situation is started over fragile egos. I’m able to look at it objectively even while it was happening and after. Even the cop I talked to agreed with me that it should’ve never escalated over me simply pouring a little water on the rocks to heat it up. It’s ridiculous. Maybe people are just on edge with what’s going on in the world which is understandable. I feel bad for the dude after it happened even though he’s the one who really escalated it. Maybe I should’ve asked but literally everyone else but him and one other dude had a problem. I’ve never had this issue before over the 100s of times I used it with other people…

They are thieves. I put in the request to freeze my membership because I live in Massachusetts for school. They blatantly ignored my request and kept charging me. When I called “nobody could help me because it was the weekend”. Just a poorly run gym that only cares about extracting money from its customers no matter what.

The gym is too small and always crowded. Even some of the things they have in the gym are outdated.

I needed a gym while I visited my family in Clifton Park, NY for the 2023 Holiday season. I found Vent Fitness online, walked in and paid $35 for a 7 day Guest Pass. I was stoked at the price! (A day pass is $25 per day here). There is a large parking lot with ample spaces and the front desk staff was lovely and helpful.

The gym has 2 floors. Upstairs is a huge assortment of cardio machines and a group fitness studio. I found it to be very hot during my rowing and step-machine workouts but it's winter in NY so it makes sense that the heat was on. The music was a bit too loud for me but I'm 40 so that checks out too lol.

The first floor has tanning, lockers rooms, water fountains, massage chairs, weight machines and an enormous free-weight section. There's also a juice bar that looked delicious.

The price was right and there was enough equipment for the larger crowds at the gym while I was there. The machines and bathrooms were clean too! I would recommend Vent Fitness and will be back when I'm on the East Coast again.

It’s really too bad, it’s a nice gym. Whoever the manager is, should not be allowed to deal with customers. Very condescending and unprofessional woman. We had cancelled online as we were instructed to do. It gave us an error and that it could not complete our request. So my husband had called and they had stated over the phone they would take care of it and cancel it. Less than a month later we get charged the membership fee and the $59 annual fee. We call and they cancelled the membership over the phone but said they could not refund because there was no record of us canceling online. I asked if they would have put notes on the account when we had the error online and called in. She said laughed and said no. So there is no trail of anything because we received an error online and when we called and explained this, we got condescending remarks about “allegedly calling” and if “we truly cancelled”. The problem which we made clear when we went to cancel it gave us an error message, so WE COULD NOT cancel. Because clearly it did not go through. There is obviously no record of this. So we are now out our membership monthly cost $24 and a $59 annual fee because we were told they would take care of it and we trusted that.

Customer service is absolutely terrible. When we go to join a gym again in the area in a few months, it will not be Vent Fitness.

Decent gym, but is often extremely crowded no matter how you try to time your visit. Unless you want to be there nearly 2 hrs it can be hard to have the equipment you want to use free up. Please consider adding a feature to the vent app to show how many people have checked in in the past hour or so. The live analytics are often not accurate enough and having this instead would help a lot of people decide whether or not going at a certain time is worth it to them. It seems like not even half of the cardio equipment is used upstairs at any given time, it might be worth considering dedicating some of that space to some more machines for lifting. I bet more people than not would be in favor of these changes.

The wifi is terrible. No wonder all you see is people staring at their phones. They are all trying to skip songs that are cutting out and find a solid signal to make it through a single workout. I use a heart rate monitor for my training and it's impossible to be consistent because as soon as I move around it drops my tracker and I lose progress.

One of the worst gyms in the area. Would never suggest to anyone. The place is a joke.
They denied me cancelling a membership - where I have not gone in months and have not used their services and never will again- and they say they will continue to charge me monthly & additional fees/late fees- regardless that I asked for cancellation- and refusing to cancel my membership. Where I do NOT go and have not in months.
people who go there, put their stuff on machines they’re not using- to keep others who actually go to workout from using it- while they go off and treat it like a social club. Or they stay on a machine, doing nothing, except scrolling on their phones. Nobody says anything.
Gym bags and purses brought out on the gym floor causing a tripping hazard- nobody says anything about it either
I watched a dirty napkin sit in the same locker for MONTHS- Showing the lack of actual cleaning.
They allow males to enter the women’s locker room/bathroom during active gym hours, to do “work” in there and yet I was made to feel highly uncomfortable walking out of a bathroom stall as they abruptly said “male entering” without being given a choice in the matter, this should not be allowed. Women are changing in there and it should be a safe space. Nor should the back room door by the bathroom/sauna be open with a male standing in there, which I’ve come across more than once, as well. Not to mention not only are women changing/showering in there, but teenage girls as well.
Their cleaners vacuum during active gym hours, causing tripping hazards and getting right into spaces where you’re trying to workout. Cleaning and fixing should be done after hours..
The gym is too crowded and they keep trying to stuff more things in there but it’s just made it worse. Too many people and not enough space.
Too much drama from the younger crowds is allowed, who cause unnecessary issues.
If you’re looking for a REAL gym- this isn’t the place to go. It’s about the same quality of planet fitness- with less benefits for the similar priced membership option.

Great gym, but music is deafening loud. When measuring the decibels on an app it seems like the volume depending where you stand can go up to 100 decibels which is classified as Subway Train levels. On average the volume is typically 80 to 90 on avg which is classified as Busy Street and Factory levels. Keep in mind the speakers are huge and are low to the ground on first floor for this reason it makes some equipment hard to use when you have rockstars screaming in your ear so I typically try to stay away from the equipment closest to the boomboxes in the ceiling.

Great gym but the over crowdedness makes it unenjoyable. Way too many people for how small of a gym it is. Wish they’d make a limit on how many people they allow to keep signing up. Update 12/11/2022: this is an overall excellent gym, and I still go to it; the grievances below have since been resolved and/or no longer apply; changing to five stars.

Update 8/24/2019: haven't seen the rogue employees mentioned above in a very long time, so I add one star... and then immediately take it away, for these awful "summer hours".

Original Review:
Member for 13 years; big, clean, and generally well maintained; almost all of staff are friendly and professional (especially the ones who are usually there weeknights); would be 5 stars if not for:

-occassional unwelcomeness near closing time: I've never been in the gym so much as 1 minute after closing time, and nonetheless, one or two rogue MILLENIAL employees (who usually aren't there late) insist on subjecting me to nagging; 15 minutes before closing music is off and there's awkward silence; clocks are fast; door has been, on occasion, locked 30 minutes before closing time.

-equipment issues: the equipment is very good overall, so it's strange when little things that are missing or broken are ignored indefinitely; there are no 5 lb plates; there are machines that have gone years with a bad bearing, a missing bolt, etc.

Overall, this is a good facility in which to work out. The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and well laid out, and at least when I go not so crowded that you have to wait for machines. Vent seems to have a practice of billing former clients then will claim the client didn’t cancel the membership over a year ago and instead opted to “freeze” due to Covid. I have 2 emails CLEARLY communicating my decision to cancel, yet they insist I chose a “freeze”. They do not return phone calls as promised and have not been willing to address their billing errors. Stay away! They are predatory in billing and the only way to get out from under their practices is to cancel the credit or bank card attached to your account.

Vent Fitness is the worst gym in the Albany area. Pay attention to your bank account if you sign up for automatic payments. I was overcharged for several months.

Response to the Owner:
Yes, I did. I was charged a 100% late fee. That is completely unfair to the customer and unprofessional of the business(Vent Fitness). If a landlord charged a late fee of 100%, renting would not be a lucrative business because no one would ever rent.

response to the owner..

i would like to be at vent over planet fitness but i know the management there i know will want payment from august to November and when i spoke with them in December even though they do not have my card number that i would still be charged. i did explain that i would not step in vent while this issue is still ongoing and not be one of those people that try to take advantage.

The gym itself is pretty good. The shake bar is really nice and all of the trainers are helpful and supportive. I am upset with their handling of frozen accounts. They do not send emails if your account is unfrozen. Multiple times my account was charged when I was under the impression that it would be frozen until I came back from college. I would expect a gym to be more open with it's it's members about changes on their account. When I asked for a refund for the months I had not been to the gym at all because I was out of town for school, I was told I should know the rules to the contract and there would be no refunds. While a valid point, it seems customer service is not their priority. Hopefully this can change so there is more transparency on when my account is going to be charged. Until then I will choose another gym in the area when I come home.

Recently started going again, was a member 2 years ago. The facility and services are top notch and they always have a surplus of machines even with the high times rushes. Shake bar, and other amenities are also top notch. I have heard good things from those that use the classes and trainers. Highly recommended.

The facility is clean, well kept, and the staff in general are very friendly. I've trained here for years and seen a fair bit of turnover. I would recommend investigating staff certifications before investing in personal training, but for the $10 membership cost it's worth the trip.

Elevated memberships offer some benefits: tanning booths, access to closed training rooms, and access to large- and small-group classes. Just be wary: several trainers don't seem to grasp that they should be making room both for class participants and those training individually. The classes are geared toward those newer to fitness, and the higher memberships pay for themselves better where those classes suit the member.

I prefer to give five stars to places I frequent, but as a level three member often booted from rooms to which I have paid access--basically paying a large premium for kettlebells and some other equipment that could easily be made available for a lesser fee--I don't think that's earned.

I've been going to Vent for the last five years and still love it as much as I did when I first joined. Such a great group who work there and everyone is always fun, funny, silly and great to work with. Love the management team and the trainers are all amazing!!

I've been coming here for almost 2 years. Place is clean, employees are friendly. The reason I'm giving them 2 stars is their lack of 5lb weights and more importantly lack of squat racks and flat benches. Every other time I need to use either of those things I have to wait and hope someone is finishing their set soon. Meanwhile there are 7 Smith machines and 3 incline benches sitting unused. Please take into account what your members use and don't use and add machines accordingly.

Great place! Men’s locker room is kinda frightening! A lot of steroid talk and pill hand outs! But the gym is amazing, great staff, great environment! I just wish management would kick out the people motivating people in the locker rooms to take steroids! Hopefully this review will inform members! I also seen a couple other reviews about this situation that is going on in the men’s locker room!

Called them to cancel. Said they would handle it.... got billed for another month... called again... VERY rude person dealt with me. Wasn't able to help... told me I had to call back on Monday as there wouldn't be any managers there until then. I told this person - No - leave a message for the manager to call me. (Amanda) was her name. I ended the call saying thank you and the RUDE person (female) couldn't bring herself to say thanks back. I spent a pretty fair amount of $ at Vent... but would never again.

If you are looking for a gym look elsewhere I even give the YMCA which is an overcrowded money hungry gym higher stars than this place. I brought my 10 year old son there and I vow to never go again. Some of the dirtiest most disgusting bathrooms you will ever see. The steroid situation in there is rampant which leads to very disturbing images and a even volatile and violent situations. I will not go into the things I have witnessed in those locker rooms but they will haunt me and my son for years.

I have been going to this gym for many years. The location is convenient. The cost has always been reasonable. They have remodeled the gym to make it look prettier. The weight lifting equipment is outdated and needs to be updated. It's increasingly becoming a bone of contention for not just me. That's not to say they did update their cardio deck. I would suggest to others consider options if convenience is not the biggest thing you have to consider. Especially if the place has more updated weight lifting equipment.

I wanna give this negative stars ... sauna is on timer ... so even at 5pm if no one has used it for a bit, it's colder than outdoors!! Waited 15 minutes for it to warm up , nothing !

No exercise bands ... No towels !! Seriously ? No towels ? Why ? Please tell me why? No personal lockers either... am i going to the gym or camping?!

If this were a gym then it would be one where they have an oxygen bar but no towels ... oh wait ....

Seriously, this isn't 24 hr fitness, for $60 or so a month , you expect a towel ... a towel !!!!

This place is really for people with low expectations

Amazing facility - couldn't ask for a better community of people. I've been a member for five years now; overall, the equipment is spot on - the only thing lacking (in my opinion) is an additional straight bar for pull-ups. Someone recently taped the only one at the gym, disappointing. Keeping all of this in mind, you aren't going to find a better gym within 50 miles. Hope to see you there!

Good gym

Some suggestions...

Music:
Gyms have this weird notion that they must play heavy metal or hard rock music at 100 decibels. Where did that idea come from? Poll the members. At least half don't want to hear a gym's music and bring their own. Please tone it down.

Water Fountains:
How about turning up the water pressure so members can quickly fill up their water bottles?
