Wergo Personal Training, a Rochester NY company, helps individuals accomplish their fitness goals including losing weight, conditioning for a sport, or just feeling better. Personal Trainer, Chris Sutton will work one-on-one with you to develop a plan that ensures your success in our spacious studio or in the privacy of your own home. We will provide the motivation, education, guidance, and individual instruction required to achieve your goals. All programs will be tailored to your specific needs and fitness level. Serving the following areas: Rochester, Irondequoit, Webster, Greece, Penfield, Pittsford, Mendon, Henrietta, Spencerport, Brighton, Fairport and the surrounding areas.

When I first started working with Chris I was a scared, unconfident, and unhealthy little kid. Throughout my many years of knowing Chris, I have grown in more ways than I could have imagined. I am now stronger not only physically, but mentally. Chris has changed my life in a way I cannot express, and I am eternally grateful for him not only as a trainer, but as a friend and father figure. Chris pushes your workouts to be as efficient as possible, and makes sure you work as hard as possible, so you see the results you are looking for ASAP. With Chris, I have lost 100lbs, and grown and matured in my mindset not only around exercise, but around virtually everything else in my life. Chris is an outstanding personal trainer that brings his years of experience and professionalism to every session. He caters to each clients’ personal needs and is dedicated to their success. I came to Wergo fitness after a back injury where I had nerve damage that made it difficult to walk around, let alone exercise. Chris knew exactly how to get me going again and after just a few sessions had me walking more normal than I had been in over a year. I highly recommend Chris at Wergo Ins. Personal Training! Chris is very knowledgeable with the anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the body. He takes the time to know what your goals are and the best exercises and activities to achieve those goals. More importantly, Chris instructs you throughout your session to make sure you are doing them correctly, focusing on muscle groups with the correct posture and positions. Chris incorporates new activities each session with motivating instruction and feedback to always keep you challenged to reach your goals!

I have never been a fan of physical activity and due to some falls and torn rotator cuff issues I decided I needed to find help from someone knowledgeable about what activities I could reasonably do with my limitations to improve my overall fitness. I found Wergo and Chris and my balance, strength, coordination and use of my arm with the torn rotator cuff has dramatically improved! Chris has done more to help me than physical therapy ever did. Chris knows how to push me to achieve my goals and in a fun, very supportive and encouraging way. I can’t believe how far I have come in the months I have trained with him.Chris has also helped me to realize that every day I experience success in doing things I couldn’t have done before engaging Chris to help me train. And the “little successes” are definitely quite significant in my daily life and overall health. I am physically more capable and confident than I have been in years. And it has been a fun experience working through this with Chris every step of my journey!

Having been in reasonable shape up to 10 years ago in my fifties, and then moving to Rochester from the far east, the local pizza and fresh bread added a 50-pound toll on me. With doctor's orders in hand, I needed to find a knowledgeable and astute trainer to at least catalyze a recovery to better health. One interview with Chris Sutton at Wergo, and I knew I found an intelligent and sustainable avenue to start this new chapter through my advanced age.
Sutton's methods are non-obvious, and are laser-focused to solve current daily movement problems. Example, with a stout middle and arthritic knees, simply putting socks on in the morning is a painful chore. Chris, using ergonomic principles, advised simple but non-obvious methods to alleviate the pain and allow regular movement again. All in the first week!
By teaching often overlooked fundamental balance, muscle-tension, and stretching methods, I have learned more in the first three sessions with him than my spending a year previously with a "gym-rat" type of trainer.
In summary, the methods I'm learning from him will be incorporated to my own life from now on.

I hate strength training, but I know it is good for me. That is the sentence that looped around in my head for many years. Going to the gym and doing cardio is easy, getting sweaty and breathless gives an immediate sense of accomplishment. Strength training is hard…so many machines and what do I do with those free weights? It takes too long to see results…no immediate sense of accomplishment.
On my own, I tried to add strength training using videos, books, apps, and information I had picked up at the gym over the years. Honestly, I don’t think I ever got past one or two weeks and then I would quit. Start and stop, start and stop because I hate strength training, even though I know it is good for me.
In September 2017, I decided that I had to get serious about adding strength training to my exercise routine. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own, so I did an online search for personal trainers near me. I found Wergo, Inc. and Chris Sutton. I met with Chris and told him that I wanted to stop chasing the numbers on the scale and concentrate on feeling stronger. Those were pretty broad goals, but Chris understood what I wanted to accomplish right from our first session.
Eighteen months later and I am still strength training with Chris twice a week. I have far exceeded my expectations on what I would be capable of doing. Most importantly, Chris coaches, guides and motivates me every step of the way. I don’t have to think or worry about my “form” anymore because with proper one-on-one instructions and regular training sessions it has become second nature. I am stronger both physically and mentally. The strength training has also helped with my cardio sessions and everyday activities.

Besides feeling and being stronger, one of my biggest accomplishments is that “I hate strength training” is no longer looping around and around in my head!

I have been training with Chris now for 3.5 months and have seen significant improvement in my energy level, balance as well as positive physical changes. Chris has helped me to improve my endurance, flexibility, balance, strength, and mobility. After foot surgery and again after breaking the other foot, he helped me with rehab far more than my podiatrist did. He is always encouraging and positive and has given me specific exercises to work through a chronic lower back weakness. He understands my physical limitations and has never pushed me farther than I could go. When I compare myself to my friends and others my age, I have far more ability to do everyday tasks--lifting luggage, walking on uneven or icy surfaces, getting out of chairs, getting stuff off the floors or low cabinets. I am grateful for his support and encouragement.

Needing to start taking care of myself, I took the plunge and put my faith in Chris to start me on the right path to a healthy lifestyle. Very quickly he was able to determine the areas of weakness that needed to be worked on. After only two months many of those areas have already been drastically strengthened. I was looking for a personal trainer and one day I did a google search and did see a lot of good reviews about Chris Sutton. I called to set up a meeting. He is a very knowledgeable and a very good motivator. I signed up with him. One of the best decision ever. With in 2 sessions he knew what I needed to get my goals. He is my life long trainer. I've worked out with personal trainers over the last 20 years getting some results I was pleased with but none like the process Wergo offers. All the other trainers had a circuit that had weights and circuit machines that created more muscle than toning, slimming and the appropriate way of working your muscles. Wergo has shown me that I can work out just as easy in my home, when I travel and get great results.
By giving instruction on key points of balance, stretching and the importance of flexing the right muscles, I have seen a difference in such a short period of time. I'm so pleased with the results so far, I would recommend to anyone seeking results and those who chose to work out at home only.
